Dollarama

The new self checkouts you've put in could very well ruin this location. Went in and the dishes I tried to scan had issues that needed a cashier sign off each time! Also it wasn't just a quick override, they had to manually enter a code AND scan their fingerprint. That must be exhausting to do all day long. I ended up getting so frustrated with it that I had to demand a real person cash me out, self checkouts have been around for over a decade and I've never had to do that before, made me leave there feeling like a Karen. I get that that you probably had no choice but to install them, at least I'm hoping this was a corporate thing, and I get that the location is rough so you want extra security. However, looking at these reviews not having even a single cashier to do regular checkout (even at least having them on the floor on call) SCREAMS bad management. Thieves will always be around and all this will do will drive customers away, not to mention drive team members away!

I love shopping here! They always have new stuff to almost anything from decor to household items!

I shop at Dollarama all the time. They are great. They have so much you can buy. The store is always very clean.

Staff here are amazing. Ppl please, stop verbally abusing these hard working women! If u r running late, don’t go in until u have time. Don’t scream & yell @ the ppl “having” to serve you!

I am a support worker for the boy with mental disability. We both shop at the Mayfield dollorama one day. The boy I am taking care of require my attention all the time so I wanted to use just a regular counter over the self check out. Cashier forced me to use self check out even if we had many items to scan. She was very rude to me and she tried to blame me for beeing unkind. She kept commenting the situation until we were done scanning. She didn't listen me at all.
She caused a stressful situation for me and the boy which is unacceptable. I had a hard time to calm him down after all of this.
So unprofessional. A huge disappointment.

Love dollarama. If you're looking for crafting ideas, they have a little of everything. I always walk out with more then I had planned

There are no cashiers anymore (not a single soul), even on Sundays, which is a problem because there are certain transactions that can ONLY be done with an actual cashier. I scanned all my stuff, but since I had a gift card and there was zero signage indicating that gift cards arent accepted through self-checkout, I had to run around the store searching for a human employee to help me, and everything had to be scanned again at the actual register. Poor communication and customer service all around.

This dollar's was exceptional. Shelves were full, store exceptionally clean, not cluttered,
Well organized. They not only have self serves tills, but full serves Counter also. Customer service is excellent also.

It would be nice to see if they would stock more of what sells and less of what sits on the shelves not selling. Asked a worker their why they don't rectify this issue and she told me that the store doesn't order items and it's just delivered to there door by a moral purchaser for the whole chain of stores. To order is a day of the past.

Probably my favourite Dollarama to go to.
This place is organized and they have 4 self checkout machines, which help so much with the line ups!
Staff here are friendly and nice too.

As far as dollar stores go, this one has a wide selection of items. The shelves are well stacked. They have several self service checkouts which helps avoid waiting in line. The aisles are pretty tight, so not great if the store is busy. Parking is conveniently close by and plentiful.

Well I have to say I don't have issues with the actual store, it's more to do with the staff that works there. The atmosphere in the store seems very unhappy and you can tell on the staff's faces. As I was shopping, walking around I thought I was imagine things, but when I walked by one of the staff members. I could smell alcohol, I thought it was maybe hand sanitizer because I know some sanitizers have a strong smell of alcohol. But this wasn't it, it was actual alcohol. She seemed to be management, but I don't know for sure. That seems to be very unprofessional if there someone is coming to work or even drinking while they are working. But I don't know if I'm coming back to this store with how atmosphere is with the staff.

Best dollarama in the city, always has a funky feet like smell, not quite sure what it is. But selection is good, always stocked

New to the area, we had dollar stores in California, when I went to pay at the till here in Dollarama my items were all above $4. Name is misleading but I should of pad attention. Not a dollar store.

The staff are friendly. The clientele can be a little troublesome. They just switched to self checkouts and we are all learning to adapt.

I was shocked and and appalled by what I saw.
They got these new self checkout machines and the one employee that works there supposed to clean the machine after each person's used it.
I'm in line for about 5 minutes maybe more.
I watched the employee use the same dirty rag without any on each machine over and over again without any disinfectant. When became my turn I asked her to spray it down the machine or spray the rag "she refused to do neither. "
She said she sprayed down the rag a little while ago and that's good enough.
This Dollarama does not care about the pandemic and they want you to get sick.
The location I normally go to on winterburn disinfects everything every time.

This location I don't get any cleaning at all.

Half staff not wearing masks. No one following their own floor directions. 3 workers right out the front door smoking as we were leaving, there are so many opportunities for improvement

I will never set foot into this particular store again. I had my items in a wash bin I was getting. I got to the check out, she took the bin and dumped it up side down. I didn't think much of this at first then as she started to ring items in she threw them into the bin with quite a bit if force. I said to her please don't throw my things so she theatrically placed each item gently into the bin. Everything is rung up, she doesn't tell me the total so I wait, nothing. I look at her and ask how much. Glares at me and gives me the total. Takes my money and slams it down on the counter then bellows for the next customer. Now I still need to get my money up off the counter, put it away and gather my purchase. Never asked if I needed a bag, happens I didn't but I could have been walking. And she never did give me my receipt. I look her straight in the eye and told her I hope she has a good day. There are many other dollaramas I don't need this one.

Dollarama as regular one, but bigger one. Good place next to the Save On Foods, and on the intersection of the major roads. Lots of parking.

Can find just about everything you are looking for. Can spend alot of time just wandering and looking. Always find some surprises that I need or want.

Customer service was horrible lady at the counter very rude let items on the counter for me to pack up didnt even make sure cleaner was not leaking. Treated me with sushi disrespect. I spent 50 dollars there today and it was my first time at this location I can say I won't be going back as I felt me shopping there was an inconvenience for her.

This location is clean, but tends to have grumpier staff. It's funny to me to watch customer after customer try to get the staff to smile.

Standard dollar store. Somehow always feels cramped. Corporate needs to bring more staff on shift.

Meh. Didn't have what I was looking for. The background music system had an annoying buzz that made me just want to get out of there.so I did. I tried one more dollar store (Your Dollar Store With More) and found what I was looking for and had a surprisingly pleasant shopping experience in the end! Check them out!

Only two people working on a Friday night. At least 10 people in line. Staff was apologetic about the line up. Totally not their fault but annoying

Probably one of the best dollar stores in west Edmonton. Lots of variety with friendly staff. Tons of parking.

Inexpensive store with quite an impressive variety! Customer service was nice. Checking out too a bit longer than expected (even with all registers open), goes to show you how popular the place is.

They have really affordable paint supplies, and the quality isn't too bad either. I painted a bathroom using the stuff they sell (sans paint), and it turned out really well!

Good deals. Some stores have better items than others but you never know this until you go to different locations. Lots of broken and open items left on shelves and if you buy an item like this there is no discount - of course: (

This location is always tidy and organized. Staff seem friendly enough and there are a plethora of great dollarama deals to be found

Well stocked and friendly just had a nice lady pay for my stuff because I left my bank card in the car ps thank you

They are very fast at the tills unlike some shops. They have mature and understanding ladies. However i rarely see black ppl. Working there esp at Mayfield Common. Think u can look into that?

A larger version of your regular Dollarama, it's a dollar store, just big (for Edmonton). Always seems clean and organized, albeit quite busy most days.
