DoubleTree by Hilton Calgary North

Clean, nicely decorated, feels new. However, one negative is that they don't have a hot tub (just a pool), and my room didn't have a bath tub, so a shower was the only way to warm up in this -30 degC weather.

What an engaging guy, warm, very friendly and professional.
WORSE full service hotel breakfast I've ever had, being a Diamond member I've had several.
Probably not even as good as any Hampton I've stayed at.
Took great care in getting myself and my guests situated to a great room with good amenities.

It is very good for its price and the hotel rating for a 3 star would give it 4.5 stars as the room is new and clean.

Went for the VIP Horror Con party. Enjoyed the atmosphere but I was surprised at the room choice for ‘VIP’. Regardless, the size of the room ending up working super well for the amount of guests and the live performers. Bartenders were friendly and efficient. Drinks were cheaper than the concert I previously attended at U of C For me, the location is convenient but this is dependant on your goals in Calgary - not a long drive to downtown or airport but this hotel is located at neither, it’s on 16th. It was cool that horror con had celebrity guests performing and mingling at the party.

A complaint I have about a lot of hotels is their pillows. Most flatten out immediately. This double tree had great solid pillows. The gym was also better than most, my only complaint being that it was pretty hot because it shared the same room as the pool.

Hi All,
I would rate this hotel 1 out of 5 for many reason.
1- With pricy room they don’t even include breakfast.
2- There cooling and heating system is from 90’s.
3- Only 1 soap was given to us… at least give 2 guys.

Even being a member I won’t recommend this hotel. I will suggest to try more hotels near by.

I was lucky because when I was looking for hotels there were some deals available. The Doubletree by Hilton Times Square West was available and discounted.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel on June 4th, and I must say it was a delightful experience in a distance from the 9th floor. From the moment I reached out to the General Manager to request a King room instead of two Queens, I was impressed by the level of service. They promptly fulfilled my request, making the check-in process smooth and hassle-free.

The room itself was fantastic - clean, spacious, and boasted a stunning view of the downtown area. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. I also had some additional needs during my stay, such as printing documents and requesting a distress kit, and the front desk staff were more than accommodating.

For dinner, I decided to dine at the hotel's restaurant. While the steak I ordered was good, I felt that the 8oz striploin could have been better. It had a nice fat cap, but the medium rare steak was slightly chewier than I'm accustomed to. However, the server in the evening was engaging and provided excellent service, which added to the overall dining experience.

The next morning, before checking out, I decided to have lunch at the restaurant. Unfortunately, the service from a different staff member was a bit lacking. The lady seemed quite serious and didn't engage in much interaction. I would have overlooked this if the restaurant had been busy, but it was only 2pm and not particularly crowded. Nonetheless, despite this minor setback, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

As someone in the hotel industry myself, I tend to evaluate everything from a hotelier's point of view. I want to commend Jaspreet at the front desk for being friendly and attentive. Donnable was extremely accommodating at check out. I also extend my gratitude to the housekeeping staff who maintained my room impeccably, the dinner server who provided excellent service, and, of course, the General Manager for ensuring a memorable stay.

I look forward to returning to this hotel in the future. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

The hotel accused me of staining a pillow which i absolutely did not do then charging me for it. I tried disputing this with the hotel but they refused to reverse the charge. I have now escalated it to corporate and will now refused to stay at any doubletree or Hilton properties.

The staff was friendly. The rooms are smaller than other Double Tree hotels.
Sound isolation is not very good

This is a good hotel and I have stayed here twice a month while on business.
However, during my last stay there were several children playing in the hallway and the noise was tremendous. I asked the front desk staff to intervene and the response was it’s a full house.
I will use another hotel for future stays.

Came up for work and was very happy with the hotel. Staff were wonderful, rooms were amazing, location was great for what I needed. My overall rating of this hotel is amazing. The reason I only rate 4 stars is the prices of food is a bit steep. Breakfast food prices are not the best. I ended up getting the Eggs Benedict for a heftier price of $21 and I found them to be mediocre. I then went to the Denny’s around the corner and only paid in total for my meal, $19.50 and that was for Eggs Benedict with add-on pancakes and I enjoyed them more than the hotel ones.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel to friends and family as well as stay here again in the future.

Location was great as it was out of the hustle an bustle of the city if that is what you are looking for. Other than location I have noting positive to say about my experience at this property. Checked into a room with no air con after requesting that I have it as I was traveling with my large dog who required it. After checking in we informed front desk, only to be told it takes a half an hour for the air con to work. I found this odd as if that was the case why was it not pre set for guests arrival. After been informed of the air con matter I found multiple ants all over the room.

Was moved to another room only to have another issue with the air con only to find out later that the side of the property I was staying on had not yet been updated with the new air con system. These two matters of ants in the room and poorly working air con were only the tip of the ice berg with my uncomfortable experience at the hotel.

Numerous conversations happened at the front desk with no staff member been able to communicate why these issues had happened or been able to come up with a solution for my frustration. My concerns were met with a staff member informing me "these things happen, I should understand as I have worked in hotels before" and one solution was to sleep with the balcony door open in the middle of fire season when the air quality in Calgary at the time was extremely poor.

Worse hotel stay I have ever had and worse customer service leaving a taste in my mouth that the hotel was just out to take my money with little regard to quality and my actually experience.

Great location. Recently renovated, nicely done. Comfortable and clean. Staff are all super nice and helpful. Convenient location for seeing the area. Electric outlets in the parking lot can accept 110v level 1 charging. Restaurant is good, drinks are very good.

Wow, this is an amazing renovation! The old Crossroads Hotel has been resurrected in a beautiful contemporary style with modern furniture and fixtures! Lounge, restaurant and rooms are beautiful and the restaurant has stunning views of the Rockies and downtown Calgary! I will definitely be staying here on my future travels to Calgary! Staff are excited to be there too! Well done to Fayaz Manji, Danny Marshall and all the staff!
