Phoned in to book a room, and they told me that it was all good to use debit for rooms. They said I could use debit to pay for incidentals. We traveled from Saskatchewan, 6 hour drive. Then, the moment they saw the color of my skin, I needed a credit card, and they refused to admit that they were the person I spoke to on the phone. When they were the only two people working.

Too expensive for what it is.walk from the hotel to ice district to see the homeless hanging around. Breakfast is terrible and expensive. No cleaning unless asked. Overall its not worth it. Find an alternative

The hotel has been overbooked! I have booked my room for an event more than two months ago with Hilton service directly and when I have arrived to the hotel, while standing in line at the counter, the gentlemen asked if we were all waiting to check-in. We were 4 persons waiting there and he told us "Sorry we don't have anymore rooms, there is a Confort Inn down the street". I have never seen such a thing, this is unbelievable! I was lucky to be able to find a decent room elsewhere, almost all the rooms in the city where booked.

Beautiful building from outside, dirty and not properly maintained by the inside. First of all, the hotel is still keeping the old covid excuse "policy" to justify the lack of daily cleaning of bedrooms, if you want to have it cleaned you need to let them know in advance, I did it and still during my whole 4 day stay not even a single day they cleaned it despite I asked them to do it twice. Additionally the carpets had horrible brown stains, there was a broken hand towel bar, and molded shower curtains that were really disgusting. The breakfast buffet is not bad nevertheless it's exactly the same dishes every single day. Be careful because the hotel is in a very sketchy area surrounded by a lot of homeless people. At least they have a private underground enclosed parking for an additional fee.

I am not one to write reviews, but I will just save you a headache Do not stay here!
The building looks really nice on the outside, but I’ve never seen a hotel so filthy in my life. I cannot believe this is a Hilton DoubleTree.

You have to put in a request to have your room cleaned. When we arrived, our room was still dirty and not cleaned properly. There was actually beard hair in the sink it was clearly not cleaned. Nevertheless, even when I asked to have it cleaned on a 3 night stay it did not happen, it was not cleaned a single time.

I requested extra towels because of the lack of housekeeping, and they just came in through them in the room where ever.

There is homeless people everywhere in the area as well, seems sketchy. I have no issue with homeless people but they made my wife and three month old very uncomfortable when they were waiting in front of the hotel for me.

I’m sure soon enough Hilton will remove the name off this hotel is it doesn’t bother me even the standards of a one star hotel.

Stayed here recently with my wife and 9 month old.
Room was mostly clean, but the curtain didn’t work properly and the bed was very sunken in the middle.
We were woken up at 1am to a shrill alarm going off and a speaker in the hallway saying don’t leave yet. 20-25 mins later it all turns off and no more announcements. I called the desk and all they said was sorry about that, false fire alarm. I tried asking for more info and got cut off saying thanks for calling and hung up. Rough night after that with the baby. No other apology, no offers, nothing.
Then we went for a walk around the building, to the river. Like other reviews, we were not very excited about the area. People with needles in the bus stop, sleeping along the edges of the building on the sidewalk, the back side of the hotel has all the windows smashed and boards inside over the holes/broken glass, sidewalks closed and barricaded. I stay in doubletrees/hiltons for work. Won’t be staying in this one again

Booked a group block of 20 rooms needed in October. Our plans changed and we cancelled with over two months notice, they charged us almost $800 to cancel and we returned all the rooms in our block for them to resell. Horrible way to treat potential returning customers, we will book elsewhere.

Lots of homeless and addicted people outside the hotel and sometimes even in the lobby digging through trash or fighting. The safe injection site nearby definitely contributes to this.

It's a beautiful hotel in a rough area. The room was spacoius with a decent bed and a sitting area, which was nice as I was sharing with a friend so we had a place to sit and catch up. The on-site lounge/restaurant had a wonderful blend of seating; casual conversation areas through to tables with builtin power supply to charge our electronics while enjoying happy hour appies and drinks. Unfortunately, it's not somewhere I would stay again due to the 'neighborhood'; too close to the obvious vagrancy issue the city is facing.

Nice hotel. But area sucks. They should relocate as lots of unwanted persons in the area in 97th

I would give zero. We got locked out of our room. No keys worked. We waited in the hallway for over an hour at midnight while they sent person after person to try and unlock it. After an HOUR we had to DEMAND a new room all the while receiving zero communication and offered nothing. At around 1: 30 we get a new room even though we had originally beed told there weren’t any. We have no toothbrushes, clothes, nothing. THEN at 2: 30 we get a knock on the door telling us to go get our stuff from our previous room. They offered no help. Even the locksmith was like “you didn’t even bring them up a trolley for their bags? ” In the morning EXHAUSTED they offered to comp our parking. They even charged us for the food we had ordered to the room that we didn’t get to eat. After complaining we were offered Hinton points to comp a future stay…. The points don’t even cover half of a future stay!

Stayed here for 1 night and had my credit card charged over $400.seems a little excessive right? Upon calling the bank, they referred me to the hotel to try get it dealt with. The First Lady I spoke to was wonderful. Very helpful, listened carefully and offered her help to the best of her ability but once I got to the guest service manager it was different. The manager was rude, talked over me and as I was talking she kept saying “mhmm yup mhmm” after every word I said which gave me the impression she wasn’t even listening to me in the first place. I explained my story that I got from the bank VERY carefully but she disregarded it all. I guess she knows better though right? Anyways, 1 night stay and I’m out $400.this hotel management is no help when it comes to making it right for customers (even when admitting to human error on their end) which is a real shame because I’ve stayed here multiple times in the past and haven’t had issues like this EVER! Aside from this, the room was clean, restaurant food was meh for the price and they didn’t even have their highly advertised cookies lol overall, will not be staying here again as the customer service lacks. Idk if they’re disregarding me because I stayed and paid already but I feel that’s no way to deal with a customer.

Hidden treasure, had the most amazing experience and friendly staff were always accommodating and went over and above.

Great place to rest your head when on the dusty trail. Hot tub is the size of a saloon and great place to spend the evening.

The location is great for where I needed to go for work! But the rooms need some work! Upon checking in the first room they gave me the lock on the door wouldn't unlock. They moved me to a room that was super hot.the A/c was completely off and the room was well over 80°. Even after turning it on and putting it on 70, going to dinner for 2 hours the room was still at 78° upon coming back. They changed me to another room that was a bit cooler but never got below 74° the entire 5 days I stayed there.

Came back to our room late at night and had no service at all. Parking is expensive. Hot tub jets did not work. Worst stay I’ve had at a hotel. Would not stay again and not recommend staying here.

The rooms were good and spacious. Hotel was clean and modern. But the buffet breakfast that you see on the website has been discontinued. So although we had paid for it in advance we had to do a la carte where if you ordered a coffee, then you had to pay for your juice. On top of it all you still had to pay a gratuity. The supply of their toiletries was limited and we had to keep going down to get enough for a family of 4. So if you have to pay $140 for the hotel, $44 for breakfast and $28 for parking…… I would say, look for another place with a better deal.

Place was nice. Area still needs some work. THE BEST welcome cookies in the fricken game. Get you some!

As a Hilton Diamond Member I've seen a few of their hotels. Aside from the top tier brands this property had the nicest rooms I have seen. We had an amazing view from the 11th floor with the forward tilting windows. It was enough to give one vertigo. The staff were absolutely amazing and some of the friendliest folks we met on our vacation. If I'm ever in Edmonton again this would be my first choice.

The staff went above and beyond during my stay!
The hotel is in a somewhat rougher part of town, so be aware if you are planning on walking to/from the hotel. I was not bothered by anyone on the occasions that I left though.
The rooms are fantastic, everything feels new and it makes it very welcoming.
To return to my room on the second night to find a selection of desserts provided on the house by the hotel team was such a wonderful delight!
The restaurant on the second floor serves excellent food (the seasoning they use on their fries is), but the service can be a little slow, even when quiet. It's a great spot to unwind with a drink though!

Great stay nice rooms, horrible parkade for $28, horrible check out experience. Jenny in Guest services did not show an ounce of good customer service while explaining to me my charges. After paying for the rooms up front plus the deposit fee upon check in, at check out I was told I still owed another $100 + per room. I tried to explain that it was not making sense and Jenny would not even let me speak until I straight up had to ask for her to just listen to where my confusion is coming from. By the time she printed the receipts I believe she then understood I already paid and was then still not being clear or admit that she was wrong.

Good customer service is not hard, just be an active listener and it is fine. Last thing I would expect with staying at a Hilton managed hotel.

It was “ok. ”

Pros:
- Walking distance to some amenities like the art gallery, Shaw Conference Centre, the Royal Alberta Museum, the River Valley.
- Staff was nice.

Cons:
- Not much night life downtown.
- Lots of homeless people around.
- $28/night parking.
- $14 breakfast (no continental)
- No pool. Just a really big hot tub that we couldn’t use in the summer heat.

All in all it was an expensive visit and we probably could have found a better deal somewhere else. We had fun regardless, but that’s just because we are able to find ways to enjoy wherever we are.

I got a ticket for parking in their lot, took it up to the guy at the desk, he said he'd take care of it because it was issued in error. Well today I got a notice that my ticket would be going to collections. Called this morning, nothing was offered to make up for this giant hassle and potential mark on my credit. I was told they would take care of again, but I have very little confidence that they will actually take care of it. She had a list of excuses ready as to why it wasn't done yet.

The staff was very unprofessional in handling our stay. I used to call front desk multiple times to get hold of someone. I asked for dish washer detergent and they said they don't have it and they instead sent me a tide liquid. I have 2 babies and I highly depend on hotels like Residence In, I am a Mariott Bonvoy ambassador and this was the first time I had to try Hilton because there were no Mariott hotels in Edmonton with a full kicthen. The hot plate I wanted to use to warm up the milk for my babies blew and it didn't work. I called the front desk and the person I spoke with said he doesn't even know where the electric breaker is and he does not have maintenance people on shift. It was a very disappointing stay altogether.

Only downside was figuring out how the elevators work. You have to scan your room card in the elevator to get anywhere above the 2nd floor.
But other than that it was awesome. Underground parking is nice. Neighborhood isnt too bad.
Love that i can take my dog (without any breedist restrictions), that means so much to me. As well as not getting some nasty smoking room just cause i have a dog.
The staff are very nice and loving to your dog.
Breakfast is not complimentary, but they have a nice buffet; 22$ for hot buffet + cold buffet, 15$ for cold buffet.

As a Hilton Diamond member I am quite picky with my Hilton choices, always expecting the best. This place, near the heart of Edmonton, does not disappoint.
