Mrunaly the receptionist, was very friendly when I called prior to coming in.
When I arrived (without an appt.) Dr. Matthew was very kind and saw me right away. He diagnosed my issue and all was good!

To many bad experiences in a row over 3 years is enough to move on from this clinic. No longer accepting patients, and receptionists said they don't take walk ins anymore which left my partner super confused (its in your name? Its a service your website offers?). I leave this place after having multiple issues with Dr Matthew Onyekweli not taking the time to stop and listen. Turns out my concerns were correct. My concerns were overlooked due to my age which caused lots of unnecessary pain. My most recent visit is my last, if your going to order tests and not tell me why or what they are. If your asking questions but don't believe my responses why ask? If your going to imply I am abusing subscriptions I've taken my whole life, maybe just maybe you need to take a moment and talk to those patients you care for. Here is a free tip about privacy.your rooms are right next to the sitting area, close the door when you come into the room to give people a space to talk about what their concerns are without the people having to share them to everyone in the lobby a foot away.

One of the best medical clinic with great staff and my best Doctor Mathew, whom i am seeing for almost 8 years whenever i do not feel good, His advice, staff support always makes me haelthy back again. Thankyou Douglaswoods family medical clinic.

I am new to Calgary and I needed a medical driver's license form completed for my class 4. Mrunaly and Melissa were very kind and very helpful. Dr. Osundu, was professional, kind and efficient. Being a new resident it's so difficult finding a doctor and I took a chance to ask her after being rejected by many doctors offices. She kindly said yes and told me to ask the front desk for an admittance form. I am very happy and looking forward to seeing Dr. Osondu for my next appointment.

Melissa and Mrunaly is very helpful and approachable.we didnt have hard time in booking an appointment and have it right away.

Short version: Try everywhere else first.

As with other reviews, there were some issues with advertised hours and services vs.reality (according to the receptionist).

As far as walk-ins are concerned they basically said they don't take patients if they don't want to and I was directed elsewhere almost immediately. (As before I could ask questions the receptionist continued to talk over me whenever I attempted to speak). So I would go here as a last resort, or else you could theoretically be waiting a long time only to be sent away.

(I had first listed them at 2 stars but given they are a medical facility, it seems more integral that they at least meet their duty of care. On top of merely poor business practise, "If they feel like it" & "If they want to" doesn't sound like upholding their oath as Doctors. If that's wrong their representative is harming their reputation substantially.)

I injured myself at work today and came in as a walk in patient, the office staff was fantastic and rushed me right in. They even helped me to fill out the WCB forms as my injury would hamper my ability to write. The Dr wasted no time assessing my injuries and promptly but stitches in my fingers. The care they showed was fantastic and I would recommend them to everyone. My employer was shocked when I returned after only one hour. 5 stars from this happy patient!

Doctor Matthew Onyekweli is absolutely amazing! He's been our doctor for about 5 years now and he calls us for constant follow up and gets to the root of the issue rather than just treating the symptoms. Highly recommended!

The front desk staff are so rude and have no organization or care for the people they are helping. I have had not one but a handful of bad experiences with them.
1 being when doctor osondu had a family emergency the same day I called to make an appointment for the following day and I was not told that my appointment would not be canceled and I actually had to call in wondering why I never received a call. (it was a over the phone appointment due to covid) then once I called i was finally told about the family emergency and told that obviously she wouldn't be able to make that appointment and that they would schedule me for the same day next week.
Same thing happens. I receive no call and no call from the front desk to reschedule either. At this point I give up until I finally get a call about about later saying dr Osondu would like to have me in finally to talk about my blood work (this is what I was trying to do beforehand) I go in and they have me of course wait outside (covid) but my appointment is at 940 and they have me wait 10 min and I just call to let them no I don't have vehicle and I'm cold and they say they will get me in as soon as possible. I wait another 5 min (not the worst) but when I get in there's no one is the waiting room and they escort me to a room right away so like what was I waiting for?

Then once I see Dr osondu which by the way is right away.so once again why couldn't I just wait inside if no one was in there? !

She asked me why I'm there and I told her the front desk had called about my blood work and I hadcouple of other thing to discuss too. SHE ROLLS HER eyes at me tell me that there is nothing she needs to discuss with me and she tells me to ignore them. The communication between front desk and doctors is awful and the patients pay for it!

*side note *
I was requesting my blood work for my naturopath and before I got my appointment with Dr osindu my naturopath had emailed my doctor and was able to receive my blood work before all this i just wanted to see if she had something else to say as I received i call.
So when I went over my blood work with my naturopath she showed is all to me and we found out that I indeed have extremely low iron and I'm hormone levels are completely off.and Dr osondu had nothing to say about this at all. I feel she has little no care for her patients or atleast me

Took my newborn to Dr. Matthew for his circumcision. Boy did Dr. Matthew do a great job!

He even took a look at baby to observe his health in general. The nurse who assisted and the ladies at the desk were great too.

We had two follow up visits with Dr. Matthew and and he gave answers to all our questions and gave us health advise as well. Friendly and awesome.

There is also ample parking available and a gas station sits conveniently beside the clinic. There is a pharmacy within the clinic too.

I had a long ongoing issue, in which I had wcb involved, to which Dr Osondu could not figure out. Instead of going to further lengths or referring me to someone else, she just told me there was nothing more she could do for me and asked me "what do you want me to do about it? " in a rather hostile way when I asked her if I needed to seek a new family physician for assistance. She was clearly only in it for the money, as on a previous walk in visit she said she was not able to address my concern about the issue because she was not going to be paid for it and I had to make an appointment and specify it was for wcb.
Though I understand there is a fee for chart transfers, there should be exceptions for situations in while your own staff is driving the client away. I no longer feel comfortable seeing Dr. Osondu due to the way she behaved towards me (especially for being a "medical professional") I was wanting to speak with the clinic owner in regards to his doctors behaviour and discuss the fee associated with a chart transfer - the front receptionist "in charge", Nadia or Nala or something, said while he is "out of town" she would not even give me a number or email to directly reach him after explaining my circumstances. I was told this after two weeks of no call back after my initial call/complaint. If the was actually the message to relay, why was it not relayed and coincidentally given to me when I call to ask about the reason I have not received a call back.
DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC. 0 STARS.

I had a pleasant experience at the clinic. I did not have to wait a long time to see a doctor. Also the staff were professional.
I was a walk-In patient but have decided to register in the clinic.

If I were able to give a rating of 0 to this clinic I would. Dr Matthew is a very kind and knowledgeable doctor. However the same cannot be said about the front desk. They are very inconsiderate, rude and take no responsibility for their mistakes. Instead of mine they send the wrong patient's file to a clinic I was suppose to be referred to and kept denying the mistake when I asked why. A HIGHLY IRRESPONSIBLE AND RECKLESS MISTAKE ON THEIR PART. CONSIDER REPLACING YOUR FRONT DESK STAFF.

Dr. Matthew is the best! We switched to another clinic because they were closer to home but after a while we decided to switch back because dr. Matthew is so caring, experienced and helpful!

Even though Dr Matthew is great doctor and genuinely cares for my well being, the same can't be said for the receptionists. I've been waiting for a reply from a specialist for 8 months and the receptionists never told me that my specialist retired. They've never told me that they put me in another specialist's waiting list and just assumed I would wait close to a year to get some help.

This has been my primary care clinic for over 3 years. My concerns are always taken seriously and I can always be seen promptly.

I was there yesterday. I was patiently waiting in line for my turn. I approach the front desk and I was checking in for my appointment at three which I made last Frida. But something got confused. OK I get that. But my point is when I was Talking to the lady and checking in for I am I appointment at three. The lady beside her rudely interrupted. And had the receptionist that I was speaking with stop what she was doing to go assist another customer. I am very upset. I waited there for five minutes or more. I finished checking in the lady sent me to the waiting room. Then I overheard the same lady that interrupted us talking about The receptionist that checked me. Saying that she wasn’t doing her job.she’s making too many mistakes. I’m sick and tired of this. I’m so tired. I thought my receptionist did an amazing job. Keep up the good work. I will be looking for a new family clinic.

They took me in as a walk in and treated me with kindness and care. They were patient with my concerns and within the same day made sure I got diagnosed and treated. What a sincere pleasure! Thank you ️

I visited the clinic yesterday because my family doctor is on holiday. The experience was very good. The staff were great and I find the doctor knowledgeable and thorough. No point travelling a considerable distance to see my family doctor. I have switched.

Dr. Chinwe Osondu is a thorough and compassionate doctor. I have been seeing her for a year now and the care is wonderful. She is receptive to my concerns and very knowledgeable. Great staff on the front desk as well. I highly recommend her.

This was my first time seeing Dr. Chinwe Osondu since my family physician wasn't working today. She was very rude and condescending. Dr. Osondu completely disregarded my injury and the pain I go through on a daily basis. She told me that my injury was illegitimate and accused me of lying about my pain. Due to this ridiculous reasoning, Dr. Osondu did not provide me with the doctors note I needed for university. This injury causes me to miss out on daily normal activities and for her to ignore my pain is completely inappropriate and irresponsible.

Had to wait 40 mins to see the doctor despite having an appointment, so she could spend 2 seconds to write me a prescription. Not only was this visit a waste of my time, the reception staff was less than accommodating with my ON issues health card and were unsure of how to “deal with it” and questioned the validity of my documents, went as far to say my Ontario drivers license was “temporary”. Whatever that means. Following this, I was forced to pay out of pocket $145 as an out of country visit, for a doctor to write me a prescription, after my time was wasted. I tried to explain to the front desk but they were either too indifferent to validate my statements or they simply could care less what I had to say. I understand that sometimes you have to wait, I can tolerate the inconvenience if the clinic is busy, but it wasn’t. And even if you were unable to meet the appointment time, let me know, as this is the professional and courteous thing to do. Overall, this was the worst experience I have ever had at a clinic. Will not be returning for their services. Would give them 0 stars if I could.
