Moving into a 1970s house we had full expectations to replace the windows & doors in our home, after a few phone calls and quotes we settled on Durabuilt. BIG MISTAKE. After spending over $20,000 on 14 windows, includes a massive picture window (main level & bsmt) a new front door with sidelight windows, a new full glass back door, it has not been a pleasant experience.

The 1st round of installation was for windows (SEPT 2021), we had a new bsmt window included in this install. (We cut the concrete ourselves, wanted them to install and finish the remainder) during our initial quote this included finishing interior/exterior of the windows such as casings. Windows installed, bsmt window was not at all finished in the interior I reached out asked why. Said it was extra and that the quote didn't include it, being understanding I requested them to come finish it off (additional charge) - this service request took a week to have any response made on it after a few attempts, in the end the work was completed to a satisfactory level.

In Oct 2021 a window begin leaking brown sludge after a rain storm, called Durabuilt and a service rep came out, told me it wasn't a Durabuilt problem. Unsatisfied I called back with the inexcusable ownership of the issue, they sent out a second service rep.with supervisor to repair the window, they had to remove the trim and Insulate/seal around the window as it had been forgotten. In the process of doing so my newly painted wall was damaged and I was left to repair it.

In JUL 2023 I contacted Steve our sales rep.for new exterior doors, even though my windows had problems after install I can say the 1 star this review is getting is for Steve our rep. Any issues I've brought up hes the only one that responds to them stuff happens this is supposed to be a award winning company? So i figured lets move past this. ANOTHER MISTAKE. Having issues with finding what I wanted for the styles/budget, Steve took time to help build a vision for our doors in person. During this process in OCT 2023 condensation was getting worse on all our windows (only 2yrs old), we had also had new attic insulation, a new HE furnace installed (no attached humidifier) I made a service request (setup by Steve) was told to turn my humidity down, it's normal apparently (I was able to push water out of the frame (image) but still no one was willing to come look at my windows unless I had less humidity inside, they sent me a doc.stating my humidity needed to be <25% (average home 30-50%) a dehumidifier already runs 3/4 of the year, frustrated I wiped the water and carried on as there was no way I would be able to lower my humidity and they didn't care.

Doors installed, DEC 2023 assured this wouldn't be an issue with weather. Initially (2 days) thrilled with the doors, we had an had an issue with hardware placement but Steve, once again rectified it, went above what a sales rep is required, provided 2 options and it was in our control. After a squeaky hinge presented, a service call made, repaired. Next day a 2nd squeaky hinge, I made attempts to schedule my own request, left 2 voicemails - no response. During this time -45 weather. Our door froze up, shifted to rubbing, difficult to close and windows have 3" on ice build up, condensation and splitting seams. (Image) as per their doc my humidity would need to be under %15 for this to not happen. Again, several phone calls, an email, no response, even issues reaching someone for pymt. I keep my blinds open and my house warm and at an even temp. Trying to get a service request for my door and windows is ridiculous - Steve is the only one to respond.

So now I am left with wiping up water and thawing windows, windows in the basement with poor seals and a front door that won't close efficiently and no one except Steve that responds to my emails, texts and phonecalls. I am beyond frustrated and extremely dissatisfied with the quality of my windows/doors and the "customer service" of this company.

Durabuilt Windows is a fantastic co. We had a new backdoor installed. We couldn’t be happier! Our salesperson Joe was so easy to work with and a very personable person. Would highly recommend this co!

Used Durabuilt recently for a large bay window and a few basement windows and the whole experience was top notch.

Used a different company for a renovation at our last house and there were several issues with seals failing and service issues that we had to pay out of pocket on. A friend recommended Durabuilt and gave us Ryan’s card who ended up being our Rep on this project.

He was great and made the whole thing super easy, and got us a big discount with a winter promotion where they matched the rebate savings the government is currently offering.

Sergiu and his install crew were so great, friendly and accommodating to our schedule for a seamless installation. Super happy with the definitely a huge upgrade to what it looked like before.

Just finished getting 20+ windows and my front door replaced with Durabuilt and couldn’t be happier with the experience.

Install crew was super fast, professional and left the house spotless post renovation!

Our rep Ryan was so informative and helped us get the maximum back in rebate savings through the governments Greener Home program.

Once we visited the showroom it quickly became apparent how superior their product quality was and which was amplified when he showed us the massive manufacturing facility attached to the back of their showroom at their west end location.

For us it was important to support local and the other 3 companies we visited weren’t able to clearly tell us where there windows were actually manufactured even though they claimed to be local and Canadian, I really doubt they were.

Would highly recommend Durabuilt for your renovation needs!

Edited to add: replied a day after being asked to contact the email address below.
I followed up a week later. STILL no response. Just keep getting follow-up emails for my "annual subscription fee" for these windows.

Windows on a subscription is what I call it.

Built our house 12 years ago. 2 panes just replaced a few years ago due to failed seals.due again. One of them is on their 4th change. With a bill for about 975 to do it. This is not the the first time I have been charged.but it sure as hell will be the last time I pay.

As for the rest of the QC, you can even see the panes that don't have moisture still have dust and other things in there too.

The only window in the house that has never been replaced is the bathroom window.but it has moisture too and it should be.

Substandard product backed by a worthless warranty.

As I said, these windows are a subscription.

Really fun technician. Took the time to explain what he needed to do and how it'll help address my complaints.

We are very happy with our choice.
We needed 21 windows and a door replaced in our late-80's home. We received multiple quotes, read the literature, and asked follow-up questions (lots of them). After great consideration we selected Durabuilt for the job.
Our sales person Ryan was super fast and friendly answering all of our questions. He came to our place where needed and invited us to their office to view samples.
The date of the installation was communicated clearly, and the crew showed up right on time. Over three days we had up to 6 installers in our home. They were awesome - very friendly and courteous.
After installation there were a few items to be fixed or adjusted (very small items) and Durabuilt had the right people out to our house within a week.
We are very pleased with the quoting process, the installation, and the product in our home. We're looking forward to being able to easily open our windows, and a winter without condensation building up on our windows!

Tip if you're doing your windows: when they say to cover up for the dust, they mean it! A LOT of dust is generated and I wish we would have done more to cover up furniture or move items out of the rooms to save time on clean up afterwards.

We had a great experience with Durabuilt. We replaced all of the windows and doors in our house and are so happy with the end result. Ryan our sales consultant was amazing. He was so helpful, knowledgable and patient. We ended up deciding to do a much larger renovation on our house than we initially planned so many of our window specs changed. Ryan was quick to make revisions, and helped us through every step of the process.
Sergiu and his team of installers were excellent. He was quick and efficient, had great communication, was able to offer some suggestions that would work better for us, and did a great job! He was very flexible and willing to work around the other subcontractors that were working in our house that day. He was calm and patient when I had questions, and everyone who was on site when he was there that day said he was great.
I highly recommend Durabuilt if you are planning to replace your windows and doors!

Working with Durabuilt has been a pleasure. Our corporation went through some difficulties with a preview Construction Manager who slowed our progress to the point of near failure.

In order to work through this issue, the ownership of Durabuilt remained committed to working with us and we are now at the third floor of a great condo project in Victoria.

Without steadfast commitments to relationships and success from both our team and teams like Durabuilt we would not have been able to rise above and see this project to its ultimate success.

Thank you Durabuilt for sticking with us and believing in our amazing team. We look forward to many more projects with you!
