I was looking for some decorative rocks to fill the bottom quarter of some cool looking, clear, blown glass vases I have. I found Earth Gems online. I walked in and was amazed when I saw the huge assortment of rocks and gems they have to pick from - and so much more. It’s well organized and the staff is very helpful.
No pressure casual shopping. I highly recommend this store for all things rocks and gems.

Incredibly rude staff, unwelcoming energy, and overall a terrible experience. Years ago, this was my favourite rock shop. Now, even as someone who has shopped loyally for years, I am followed around, stared at, and treated like some kind of thief. A shame to see they’re operating with this attitude and treatment of customers. A very quick glance at other reviews proves that I am not the first to experience this, and I doubt I’ll be the last.

SOOOOO MUCH VARIETY! I absolutely loved this store! If you like crystals and are passing by Calgary you should definitely add this to your to-do list:)

Stopped by this shop in the last couple weeks. Just like other reviews, I agree that there is something so unwelcoming and off-putting while browsing the store. Not even a minute into my shopping experience, the older lady with the glasses and short hair shoved a basket in my face when I only wanted to look at the merchandise with my eyes. Immediately left the store because I felt pressured to buy. The glares from certain staff members, especially the lady with the glasses… not a pleasant feeling at all. I feel for all other customers who have felt discriminated against based on their skin colour or the way they look. I am guessing you need to be either a celebrity or dressed in all designer clothes if you don’t want to be followed or stared down by condescending staff. My message to the employees: stop treating human beings like thieves! How would you feel going to a grocery store and not even having a chance to look at the apples in peace? Do better Earth Gems. Unprofessional customer service and unwelcoming environment deserves no stars.

This is an absolute gem of a Crystal store. Set up like a wholesaler open to the public, this shop has an immense amount of crystals and gems at incredibly competitive prices. They do an excellent job of labelling their artificially enhanced or man made crystals as such. Wonderful collection of both common and rare specimens, show pieces, carvings, etc. The staff were very friendly and able to keep up with the large rush of customers. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're a crystal fanatic like myself!

This place is truly a hidden gem! The selection is amazing and the staff is very knowledgeable. I always leave feeling inspired and excited to create. A must-visit for rock and gem enthusiasts.

I’ve had nothing but bad experiences here, they follow all people of colour around, especially Black and Indigenous folk, and if you have a tote bag or something “open” they take your bag. They do have a good selection of crystals but unfortunately the workers make me never want to return.

I really enjoy the selection of gems and minerals here…but the shopping experience isn’t awesome to be honest. They have a bag check policy, so you have to give your bag to them before shopping.
I totally get that theft could be a huge problem, but profiling and following ur customers around the store is not okay! My brother and I were followed around by staff the whole time we were there: (

I used to enjoy shopping at Earth Gems for their vast selection and the previous staff members, but lately the vibe of the shop is off to me. I understand they probably have a shoplifting problem there, but it feels like all customers are viewed as potential criminals. Not welcoming or positive energy. All I did was pick up 2 bracelets to see which one I liked better, and their "watchdog" pushed a tray at me and brusquely told me all items need to go in there. Really, even if I am just looking at them? I wasn't trying to walk around with them. I was put off. I then saw him miltantly standing by the aisles, "surveilling" all the customers. The staff only push those baskets on you - they're not interested in assisting. There are other shops I can go to that understandably care about loss prevention, but also care about customer service and integrity of their product. With all the reviews about fake stones, I think they should be concerned about their own karma.

Omg, so fun, so MUCH, drug my family here, they had to leave their reluctance at the door because it was SOO interesting and something for everyone. Highly recommend, don't miss this place!

This stores selection of crystals is by for the most expansive I seen yet on my adventures visiting crystals stores world wide! I really could spend days just going through every cabinet and tray! Love how friendly the staff was and the descriptions for each crystal I took! Looking forward to coming back again soon!

This is literally one of the best stores in Calgary. They can be constantly busy, the staff are welcoming.

Owner is rude. Bought my things and headed to the door and pestered to 'get out' as if I wasn't leaving after my purchase. Great staff otherwise, lots of stuff, don't interact with owner.

Cheap products with a crazy exchange policy. I bought a necklace and the hook broke off with in a week. When I asked for an exchange or a repair. They said they have a “no exchange, no return policy” and told me to fix it myself with some crazy glue. Any other jewelry store probably would have apologized and fixed the necklace. Not returning.

I understand wanting to close a little early in a Sunday, but just consider that some people will drive across the city just to grab a peice or two that they NEEDED so they can enjoy there Sunday just like you are. Don’t close early it’s inconsiderate to customers!

They sell so many fake gems, I would definitely not recommend them. Don't buy the malachite for sure as most of them if not all are fake. The clear quarts bottles also are made with FAKE GEMS. I do not recommend this store at all. Buy your gems from a more reputable source.

Amazing selection of raw stones, crystals and jewelry for rock bottom prices! Good service, same week delivery in Calgary, shipped for a fee, high quality product. Highly recommended. Their crystals brought comfort to myself and my kittens at a difficult time and for this I thank earth gems!

Gem and Crystal shops are something I know well and the selection and quality at Earth Gems is amazing. The staff is knowledgeable and very approachable. Excellent customer service. You will need at least 30-60min to explore the room!

I did an online order and I am so happy with my crystals! I didn’t see many reviews for online orders so I thought I should share my great experience. Their shipping was fast and the packaging was super secure and kept all the crystals safe. Everything came individually wrapped with it’s respective labels. I would highly recommend their online shop and will definitely be making another order in the future!

Always an amazing experience. Staff is very friendly, and they have an amazing collection to choose from. They also label when stoned are dyed or coated. Prices are also unbeatable in my opinion. Definitely my go to place!

Don't expect a shipping refund if you pay for express and it shows up almost 3 weeks later. Not the businesses fault that the package was late but it is their responsibility to submit a claim to Canada Post. According to management it's too time consuming to fill out a 5 minute form and 25 dollars (of my money) is not worth it.

I thought this was the only crystal shop in the city so I thought this was the only place I could go to get crystals that wasn't online. However now that I know about other stores that's why I'm leaving this review. The parking downtown is an absolute nightmare, the energy from being in a basement is really off putting and stuffy. This store is absolutely not covid safe, they do not enforce masks, sanitizer, social distancing and the store is incredibly dirty. The staff are cold & distant and truly just care about sales. It's incredibly unorganized, I dislike how their man made/dyed or enhanced crystals are not labeled correctly and I have unfortunately boughten a lot of fakes from earth gems in the past. I'm so so happy I found another store to shop so I will be happily taking my business to them instead of earth gems.

Such an amazing place with a huge selection of crystals (big and small, tumbled and raw). They also have many beads, jewelry, incense, and more metaphysical supplies!

The largest, most amazing collection of gems I have seen in Calgary. Highly recommended for rough and polished stones, bracelets, incense and many related items.

I've been shopping here for years. It used to be one of my favorite stores but recently the energy in the shop has shifted. I've noticed huge price increases for simple, common tumbled stones and there is such an excess of product in the store it feels cluttered and more about consumption and quantity then providing quality items you can trust were sourced ethically. There are cardboard boxes of stones all over the store and it feels cluttered and overwhelming.

This was my first visit. Throughly enjoyed myself! The staff is friendly and helpful!
I will for sure be back!

Love this place. Parking can sometimes be a challenge but well worth it. Glad I got there when I did.got very busy and the line up went right up the stairs.
Everything I've ever wanted or looked for has been here. Today it was Lava Rock and got a fantastic case and chain to go with.

Beautiful store with TONS of options. Perfect pricing. The staff are always so pleasant and friendly. This place is also dog friendly, and I love stopping here with my pup occasionally. 4 stars because this store is rather narrow, and is hard to squeeze by people even without my dog present. I also notice a bit of disorganization, with same stones being places in multiple spots. Maybe this is to combat the small space. Either way, I always recommend this shop to my crystal and gem loving friends.

This store is definitely a GEM! A large collection of stones to be mesmerized by. They also have incense and jewellery fastenings.

HUGE selection of anything you could ever imagine! Clean, organized, and friendly, knowledgeable service. I will be back many times!

Big selection of crystals and incense. Small deck section. Small herb section. Florida water. Prices are great. Really good if you uses stones for candles, bags, grid type stuff.

Pretty nice store, has a lot of choices! The explanations of each mineral and gem are ridiculous, but it's nice to have the names of every different item you buy

INSIST ON YOUR ITEMS BEING INDIVIDUALLY WRAPPED. Whoever it is that wrapped our items combined multiple rocks/gems/crystals together, and thus a lot of our items (especially the stones with smooth surfaces) ended up being scratched by the time we got home.

Been coming here for a couple of years now, one of my favourite crystal stores in Calgary.

Amazing selection in their surprisingly large store. They almost always have what I’m looking for or if not they have something similar. They have incense, raw and polished stones, carvings, geodes, beads, necklaces, brackets, pendants, and jewelry making supplies as well.
Pretty easy to navigate store, almost everything is labelled, except for the bead wall: (

Only downside is something certain things can be pricy which is understandable due to the rarity, etc and I always spend so much money here. But it can be budget friendly if you have some self control and make different selections.

Staff are always lovely but I have noticed when store is busier such as on weekends it can be hard to get a hand with things.

But overall one of my favourite places to spend an hour or so and I always come home with some cool loot. Would recommend to others:)

Earth Gems has been my favorite crystal shop by far for almost 15 years. The owners are so kind and helpful and they have the BEST selection of crystals out of anywhere I've ever been. Plus the store is super organized and easy to navigate. They also have a huge selection of incense and great supplies for jewelry making. Highly recommend always?

This place has an incredible selection of crystals, tektites, jewelry supplies and some beautiful rings and bracelets at a reasonable price. You can easily spend hours in here. Great hidden gem on 17th ave!

Most of the things are good, but I found that their products are really small. I bought some shark teeth, and found they were Itty bitty. Also the Fe
ng Shui balls. I went to look and they are just Faceted chandelier balls, I'm pretty sure they buy pretty cheap from a chandelier company. I'm not sure I will buy from there again

I'm hoping this is an anomaly, because this is my fifth visit since moving to Alberta a year ago, and the staff have always been hi vibe, engaging and authentic. But today, now into relatively few COVID restrictions, the two ladies (one of whom was clearly being trained) were distracted, almost rude and abrasive. I purchased a number of small crystals, each had its white description paper under it so I (and they) knew what it was. In all past visits they have included each crystals with its paper. Yes they've changed from plastic to tissue, which is awesome, but it takes no more time to move the paper with the crystal to the paper than it does to move them separately. She put all the papers together in a pile, which is grossly unhelpful for people who don't know every single crystal. I was buying several new ones that called to me. I literally stood there are her rude response and thought "Seriously, do I need to go and buy some more protection crystals just to deal with the staff". It's sad, they have a fabulous inventory, suitable for people brand new all the way up to crystal afficionados and crystals professionals but when you leave a store of this type feeling lower vide than the great vibe you went in with, there's a problem.

Was decently impressed with the prices and the actual products they have.but was throughly rushed throughout the process of shopping and unfortunately because of this i won't be back to shop for gems

Wonderful store. Gems and rocks of all kinds. And a giant wall of incense very reasonably priced. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. One of my favorite places to browse.

Went to the store today to get Moldavite and the price range is from $70-$520 so I asked the clerk why is this so expensive comparing to all the other stores in the city or even online. I asked the price per gram and they had no idea meanwhile every other store is charging $10-$12 a gram for Moldavite tbh this store is a rip off. Please check prices with other stores before you buy here.

If you are looking for any Crystal this place will have it! Rows on rows you can get lost for hours I'm sure. I tried to keep it to 20 mins given covid and all. I will definitely be returning!

Was super excited to find a store i could take my son to! He loves gems and crystals. Until I saw they sell white sage. Will not be back

Friendly staff, TONNES of crystals. Literally felt like I was in heaven. Spent more time than we needed to and it was great!

Love this place and it's staff lol. They like when I come because I buy $200 of incense at a time. They have Satya Dragon's Blood which is my favorite. I send hours looking for Incense and my wife does the same thing in the rest of the store.
