The wife and i take the kids here every couple weeks to let the kids pick out toys or games and the staff is always friendly and helpful, even when my daughter is terrorizing the store
This place is the absolute best. Brilliant Staff, fantastic service and always good for a wee chat about your favorite games. I've been going here for years. And I just had to post this here as I was reminded again how awesome this location is.
I called another location (kingsway) and asked if they had a game in stock (nothing special just NHL) they have 2 in stock "awesome could you please hold one and I will be by in the next hour? " Was met with a blunt and rude "we don't do that" if it were some limited item or something that would make sense. But come on, it's NHL. ANYWHOOOOS I called Sherwood Park and those superstars have 1.yes 1 in stock. And what do they do? Put it on hold for me until I can go get it in the neeeeext hour or so. Absolutely awesome team. Awesome management. Awesome store
One of the staff members was pretty rude during checkout. He insisted on his sentence about their one year warranty, after I already said I did not want it.
Staff here are friendly and accommodating without pushing too hard for a sale. All kinds of gaming systems, Knick knacks and games can be found here. They have way better options than Walmart!
Too much toys instead of games. Store designed to display mostly used games. Need more new copies. Staff constantly asking for game guarantee even though I never buy them and they know who I am. The trade value on most games is stupid low. Store hours cut back making it harder to visit.
Hands down the Best Game Stop to go too. I’ve never been there, I think it’s the only one I seen to never know was there and it’s the gem of stores because of their friendly staff and Customer Service. My friend and I were absolutely blown away. Came in there today September 16,2022. Their was other customers who were in the store and they were also treated with a hello, nice customer service and a good bye. My friend and I hit up the Southgate location and it was absolute garbage for service. Way to go! I’m definitely coming back!
I spend more time in line in this store then it takes me to drive there AND back. On top of that, the employees will waste as much of your time as they possibly can. If you need a game, just go to Walmart.
Friendly staff and a wide variety of games, toys, collectables, and knick-knacks that appeal to gamers and geeks. The store is small and a bit unorganized, but also clean and bright.
New game prices don't always compete with big box stores, but deals can be had on used games.
The worst place to buy anything game related. They never have stock of anything new, whereas wal mart down the road or best buy will have 500 copies of all the new games
I brought their warranty for a PS5 controller which broke, so I brought it back. Sales team made me wait literally 45 minutes before they could find some sort of proof of purchase. What is the point of 1-2 year warranties if you have to keep a receipt with you. During the time I had to wait, both members of staff berated me for not having a receipt, this year, in 2021, citing that 95% of customers bring in their paper receipts. What are you smoking?
I've been coming to this location since I was ten years old, will now take my business to Walmart, where the staff wont mock you and waste your time over something that should take ten minutes.
The woman at the front register is something else as well. The only thing I recommend here is that circus attraction.
The customer service I recieve from this location is above and beyond! My favorite location in and around the city! Friendly staff and very well stocked!
Honestly probably one of the cleanest and well kept establishments they take good care of the customers, your health and safety is the most important and they go above and beyond to help.
Nice staff, the layout is good but overall the store is ok, The prices are a bit steep for what you are getting but there trade in deals are pretty good
Very friendly staff, great variety of things at this location. Loved looking at the character collectibles while waiting in line. Matthew helped be out, and he was very friendly.
Won't be back. I walked in and was told to put on hand sanitizer, I said i can't due to a medical allergy, then I was told "then don't touch anything in the store! " WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.
Took the manager 20 minutes to honor the price of an item in the flyer on his cashier counter (and online). The first thing he said when I walked into the store was do not touch anything in the store including the counter, at the cashier I saw the price was different then the flyer, when questioned he said "we don't have flyers at ebgames" I then had to point out online and on his cashier counter the flyer. It then took him another 10 minutes of looking for an excuse not to honor the price.he clearly lacks basic customer service skills.
First the ok: Went to pick up the last Manga dimensions Luffy today-the box was damaged and the figure had some faults, which I was not too happy about but I was expecting it due to it being the last one in stock. Would have liked a slight discount. Cashier bagged it so I did not see until after I exited the store.
The good: Honest to god the staff that waved me in and cashier were unbelievably welcoming and nice. The cashier's customer service skills and ability to deal with what I needed was so effortless and it definitely made my day. Their covid procedures were also enforced well. The girl who greeted me at the door instantly directed me to the sanitizer and everyone inside respected the 2m rule. Everything was neat and orderly in the store. This eb games is super far from where I live but I wouldnt mind coming back over the eb games closer to me despite my first purchase here.
The coustomer service i received yesterday was definitely poor. I receive stellar coustomer service at the gas station where I can buy a Nintendo E-store card. I chose to try to support jobs in the sherwood park community as well as the manufacturing jobs that come with owning a hard copy of the game. Unfortunately it seems my busness was not apreacated. The staff was rude and condescending. Worse then unhelpful they literaly went out of their way to refuse me the ability to see any of the stores products. I was told their staff was all to busy to help me. Right up until I was ready to leave. I honestly get better coustomer service directly from Nintendo. I will not be returning. I will chose to support the artists and developers by buying directly from them in the future beacuse they atleast apreacate a loyal consumer.
Editing my review because I actually am impressed with the staff at this location, their site aside. I can imagine they're swamped with questions about the new systems all day but still answered questions patiently and friendly, more than once. I actually would choose to go to this store because of the service they've given me.
3 staff on shift, 2 wearing masks. The one guy who wasn't masked walks out onto the sales floor and into close proximity to customers. A line up of 6 people and they won't open the second till. They all crowd around the one till and slowly chat about what they thought of a game. To have social distancing stickers on your floor and be so inept to what it should mean, stacked on a complete disregard for service, is too much for me. I'll take my money elsewhere. Must be nice to have 3 people on shift and less than 1 working.
Decided to give them a try. Walked in to buy 'Death Stranding' for PS4 only to be told they were sold out. Went home and ordered it online on Amazon and got it the next day. Literally, EB Games' only job is to stock video games. If you run out, order more?
Had a bad experience with pre-ordering the latest Pokemon game on Amazon, with the game set to arrive 4 days after its launch. While working late Thursday night, I decided to try my luck hoping the store would be running a launch party which sadly I had missed. Luckily there were a few people still in the store and they saw me try the door and find it locked. After I walked away one of the staff members called after me and asked if I was looking to pick up the latest pokemon. Despite being closed they let me in and allowed me to purchase the game and the staff were super friendly. Very grateful they let me in so I wouldnt be waiting another few days for the game. I urge people to support the businesses in the community rather than buying digital (which have no resale value) or buying from Amazon who cannot get pre orders to the customer in a decent time. Will definitely be purchasing all future games from this store. Thanks!
Very helpful staff. Went in asking about a console and they had tons of answers. He even had some alternatives as well! Great little store, lots of knick knacks for the video game enthusiast. Definitely reccomend talking to these folks if you have questions regarding gaming needs.
Ryan was so helpful in helping me pick Christmas Xbox 360 gifts for a young boy I am sponsoring. Ryan went above and beyond by giving one of his very own games and some pins and a cup. Then I found out the family was not from Edmonton and had to return gifts as the new family did not play xbox 360. I went in and another friendly man listened to my explanation and returned my items. Ryan was there and I also returned his game and the pins and cup that he gave. Then he helped me pick out three new gifts for two girls and one boy! We picked some cool craft items for the girls and Spiderman lego which was what the kids had on their wish! The staff are all so friendly and helpful! Definitely will go back and will tell everyone to go check them out. Only on Friday evenings they also have a $5 special for items and the items change every Friday! If you are looking for stocking stuffers or a gift for any occasion! FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Says it is closed but there is like 30 people in the store definitely have lost my business just tryna buy a Nintendo switch definitely will not bring anyone here anymore
Nice layout, friendly and helpful staff, bright. I don't appreciate the sale of games for new consoles only. Nothing I am actually interested in there anymore.
Called the sherwood park location to verify if they had any 3DS games for my 7 year old. Lady on the phone said yes. My wife drives all the way down there 20 min before closing and the employees there said they have none and need to travel to Edmonton location. Annoyed, I called them back to verify and the same employee I talked to earlier said yes they have some. #ebgames, maybe you need to hire employees that will actually help out customers instead of being worried about their conversation and closing. I will drive to Edmonton from now on.
I love shopping here. I love looking at the big selection of pop vinyls, games and memorabilia. I find the staff to be very friendly and fun to interact with. It’s always been a positive fun experience to come shop here. Thank you!
I used to really like EB Games. I have nothing negative to say about them but have no need to buy games there anymore as I'm now able to download to my console or computer. I bought my last console (Nintendo Switch) there and I'll probably buy my next one there. Apart from that, there is no good reason for me to go there anymore.
