I went to take my inlaw to get a new controller and I think it was the supervisor who came out of nowhere and thought we were stealing and told us that we shouldn't be looking at stuff with our backpacks on, I've been shopping here for years and never I've been told that and I'm an aboriginal (souix) and felt like racial profiling plus heard the supervisor whisper he wanted to fight me, You better fix this next time I shop there
Only had good experiences with the store, not with just myself but also witnessing the stars assisting other clients. They are passionate about games and were very friendly/helpful. I know that their prices are sometimes off when compared to online but I rather support local business that provide good service likes this one does.
I purchased a brand new Nintendo switch and I bought it as a gift. But the person opened it and nothing was sealed as brand new inside, i paid full price for a brand new game but didn’t seem like new at all. Disappointed with packaging.
Went to this location the other day. They had a game that was on pre order in their new section. Also had stickers saying it was a new released game. When I went to the counter the staff argued with me that the game was in the pre order section yet there were no signs stating this. The employee was snarky and rude. This store can not manage their inventory/display in an effective manner.
My boyfriend and I traded in an Xbox One X to get an Xbox Series X. He was still unsure whether to get the Series S or the X, so he asked one of the girls if we could return it. She said "as long as it's still sealed, we can do a refund. If the seal is broken, we can do an exchange or refund for in-store credit". After getting the Series X, he wanted to swap it for the Series S. Note, this was like 20 minutes after the purchase. He went back to swap it. They told him he could only refund the remainder/difference for in-store credit and not an actual refund? The seal wasn't even broken, we had JUST been there. Then, of course, their system started "having issues" and couldn't process the swap.
He called another GameStop on our way home, and they were VERY confused on why they said that it could only be in-store credit and not a refund. So did they lie or simply didn't want to lose the sale? What a joke.
Staff is very friendly and incredibly helpful. Only upset because they sold me an expensive figure full of caked-on dust, presumably from being on display for a while out of the box. Hopefully I can return this hassle-free.
Staff was amazing! I came in with like 2 minutes to spare and the staff were so helpful and didn't rush me out. Super helpful snd informative! Amazing experience!
I prefer the EB name. The staff are helpful Chris and Bryan are amazing. Major issue is products never seem to come in when they are suppose to for a company that sells loot this is a major obstacle that needs repair.
Used to love this place. But I will never go to this location EVER again after my child was discriminated against for having a medical condition. The person who treated him so horribly and made him cry was named Shane. He claimed to be the assistant manager. If you or someone you know has a disability or medical condition please boycott this location as well in solidarity. Thank you.
The store itself is good and the employees are helpful and great. But ebgames is not what it used to be, no wonder they’re going bankrupt I’d rather go to Walmart or any other store to buy my video games.
Had a slight issue with an employee forgetting the actual game disc but when I we t to go fix it, they were very respectful and cleared up the issue quickly.
Sold me another broken pair of used repackaged headphones as new for the 3rd time in 5 years. Never going back to sunridge ever again ill go the extra distance to chinook or north hill.
Love this store. There team is always so friendly and helpful. They always have everything in stock and if they have run out they will go the extra mile to track down what you need.
I used to swing into EB games every time I went to the mall, and usually came out with a used but great quality ps3 game. But since ps3s online services were shut down and my ps3 broke I come in here less. I still enjoy it here but with ps4 plus I get free games and good sales so I rarely see something worth a buy on sale
They seem really understaffed but the guys working there on Sunday were pretty much the nicest dudes and I am so glad they were able to help me find what I was looking for.
Has fairly good selection of Funko Pops that I'm looking for. My main issue is that they're really on you about their deals, even if I had heard them just the day before.
This type of store is awful in modern times. Little to no trade in credit for anything, half the store is selling junk items. This store isn't for gamers anymore, this store will leave you unsatisfied.
Extremely Slow staff, they sold me a PlayStation 4 game with a damaged box. The spine of the case is completely shattered at the top. I didn’t notice until I opened the game and bits of blue plastic fell out. Such a hassle to go back and exchange.
Today, I had good customer service followed by extremely bad service within 10 mins. I went there to buy some old ps3 games. The employee was very helpful and tried his best to find me the games I wanted. I ended up buying 2 copies of same game (for me and my friend). The in 10 mins time, I had to go back there again to hold a game for a friend. That's when I realized that the game I already purchased, had a limited edition version (same price, same product code). So i went to the counter to a short haired asian girl and told her that I want to swap one of the games for the limited edition version. She tried to explain that they are exactly the same and only the cover looks different. I told her that I understand what she is saying and since they are exactly the same (even same product code/ID), then it should not matter which one I take and I want to take the one with the different cover. But she won't let me do it and she kept repeating the same line very slowly "do you understand what I am saying" in a way as if I am a very dumb person and I am annoying her. Then she asks one of the other employees in the store, the other employee, already hearing the conversation, just says that it is the same game, so just give it to him.
But no, the asian girl won't let me take swap it and she kept saying it will create problem if i swap the games. Then the other employee interfares again and explains to her that its the same product code and the client paid for 2 out of the 4 in stock. So it doesnt matter which 2 he takes and their systen will still show 2 available. Then very reluctantly, this girl lets me take the other box.
After that i was giving her my name to hold this game for a friend. My name only has 6 alphabets. So I starr by telling her the first 3 alphabets to write down. Instead of writing, she looks at me goes like "can you slow down? " I was so confused at this point! I only said three alphabets and I was not even saying it fast. Out of confusion I asked her what does she mean by "slowing down". So she says "you have to say your name slower". But my name only has 6 alphabets and I was only giving her 3 at a time. I think she was just mad because I insisted to change the game.
By far the worse EB I have ever dealt with. Bought 2 games both times wrong keys as they were steam keys on receipt (even said wrong titles should of doublechecked in store) and they wont call you when your orders are in. Staff seems under trained. Will never go to this specific EB games again.
