The only reason I still go to this clinic is because of Dr. Nighswander. She’s an excellent family doctor. Reception however is absolutely terrible. They make constant mistakes, with not only appointments, but prescriptions as well. They rarely answer the phone during regular business hours. I don’t know how an office can run like this. I hope to change this review in the future, but with experiences like today, I couldn’t be more disappointed.

Oh my god, I was excited to bring my child here, we are new to edgemont, but after meeting the receptionist Jesse I think her name is she, She is Asian I will never go back, she is rude and unprofessioanl and snappy, like om sorry i asked you a question, i called to get a prescription filled and she told me i had to see the dr again because she didn't have it. When the dr is still ther her phone manners are unacceptable, she got frustrated put me on hold and never got back to methe doctors are great, but I feel this receptionist or nurse or whatever she is, shouldn't be working with people. Won't go back

This clinic may be a good one the doctors may be reputable, reliable. Problem that I encountered today is with their website and the receptionist with conflicting information.
I would encourage the clinic to update and revise their website to reflect the information I was given this morning.

No I haven't visited your clinic, not will we in the future. My initial comment regarding your clinic, indicates work need be done on your website to coincide with the information provided by your receptionist there at Edgemont medical center.

I called the clinic this morning to follow up on a previous phone call I made a month ago, in April 2021. I had called to ask whether the clinic is accepting new patient. I was told there will be a new doctor starting in May and to leave our contact information so someone will call us back. May had come and gone and I didn't hear from anyone therefore decided to call and find out. The receptionist was very impatient and defensive on the phone. I am appalled by her rudeness and have no desire to visit your clinic. It is unfortunate that her poor communication skill is driving patients away from your clinic.

This "Dr" Syed Asim Hussain should lose his license. Hot tempered, makes his staff cry and has no patient bedside manner. He didn't even come into the room when my appointment time came. He asked me 2 questions gave me a prescription (that im allergic to) and then moved onto his next patient all from standing at the door. This is not the first time he has given me the wrong prescription for medicine I am deathly allergic to. All this clinic cares about is pushing patients and making money. They do not care about your health or respect you. I will never go back and do not recommend.

Dr Asim and the whole team are really working hard, so honest and accurate and on time, they would always do the extra mile. Great job always helping me and my family. Thank you very much, highly recommend.

I like the doctors. But i don't know if the clinic should be accepting new patients. Cannot get an appt 3 weeks out with my dr for a time sensitive issue. Have not been answering their phone or returning calls when promised or responding to emails Very frustrating but lack of care. I guess i will end up in a walk-in in

Do not recommend this clinic if you are a family and have kids. The amount-of rudeness from the front desk and staff, and from Dr. Asim Hussain is ridiculous. He made my kid cry, Dr. Asim Husain has no bedside manner and does not how to talk to or deal with patients. I will not be coming back.

Receptionist need to be better organized. I have had several problems each time setting up an appointment through receptionists. They always have an excuse for the Doctor not calling in, which is done as an alternate these days. On another occasion, when I visited for my appointment, the receptionist sent another patient before me so I had to wait for 45 minutes. This issue needs immediate improvement as wait times are long and nothing seems to be taken in seriously.

The family and myself had started to use Dr. Janet Xu for the last year. We have been looking for a family doctor for awhile and we are so happy to find her. Dr. Xu is very professional and personable. She listens to our concerns and actions it immediately. I do like the follow ups after a blood test and ultrasounds, and she puts our concerns at ease. I find that Dr. Xu really cares about her patients. Dr. Xu is very knowledgeable. The office is very clean and everyone working is friendly. Thank you!

Dr. Hussein is a professional knowledgeable caring doctor. He is empathetic to patients’ needs and compassion with them. He has a strong work ethics and always supportive. He creates a unique relationship with patients that makes you feel home at the clinic. God bless him and the team and reward him for his good deeds.

Let me start by saying Dr. Asim Hussain is the best doctor I have ever seen. Now I have seen many good doctors in lots of places I lived but no one comes close. Why? Because he cares. It shows in the way he listens to you, explains to you, spends enough time with you and doesn't let any little detail pass by him.
I never felt that he was in a hurry (I know he is a popular and busy doctor) when he is with you, you never feel rushed. He ensures that he answers all questions to your satisfaction.

How much I value a good doctor like him? I live 45 minutes away, whenever anyone of us needs to see him means that I take time off work, drive 45 minutes up and then down and sometimes get stuck in traffic with 3 little kids in the car who don't like to be in the car, and I say it is worth every bit of it. That's how good he is. Never thought about changing the doctor and never will.

Do not know where they hired that new receptionist and looks like she is the boss of the doctors in this clinic. She makes decision for doctors and refuses any urgent requests from the patients. Really a horrible receptionist. She even does not check with the doctors for appointment schedule and just simply wanted us to leave. The clinic really need to review her performance. She may follow the protocol but not a receptionist who is able to care of patients.

Following up review after the response:
I think you may not get the whole story and the problem was not that I am not cooperating. The problem was that your staff did not know how to communicate and coordinate between the doctors and patients. Hope you can realize it.

I have met Dr Hussein a couple of times right now and have been feeling much better. The best thing about him is that he goes for diagnosis first and then treat the disease, an approach in line with modern medicine. He also take special interest in his patients and follows them meticulously. I am a very happy patient.

Dr. Hussain is a caring, compassionate and an extremely competent doctor! He always goes the extra mile for his patients. He is not only an excellent doctor but is an amazing human being.

Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. I went this afternoon to the clinic because my son has very painful stomach pain and was crying but the receptionist said that there is no walk-in. That’s fine, and I was about to leave but the receptionist insisted to collect my data before I go and record it while my son still crying and I hade to wait in hope the doctor can see my son. Then asked me to leave the clinic and stay in my car and will call me after checking with the doctor, I kept waiting and my son was still suffering then finally she released me saying the doctor can’t see my son. This is the weirdest customer service I ever face specially I am in emergency. Why she didn’t say from the beginning sorry no walk-ins and let me go. Why didn’t they have sympathy or common sense and let my son be treated.

Unfortunately all what you said is not true and you know it’s not true but you are just addressing the readers.
1.she didn’t ask me if I can stay 1-2 hrs.
2. You close at 4 and it was around 3, so how can she asked me to stay for two hours! Can I see the doctor at 5, an hour passed the close time! Does it make sense!
3. You have the right to not accept walk-ins or new patients, and if she told that I would’ve left immediately to rescue my son, but she wasn’t clear on purpose because she knows that I will rush immediately out of the clinic for my son, instead, she asked me to stay and will let me in after she took my id and Alberta HI and filled all the data she needs and took my email and my personal phone no.leaving me waiting and my son in pain and crying with no mercy for more than 15 mins.

Finally, I can’t blame her because she doesn’t act by herself, she has clear instructions to collect personal information from anyone coming to the clinic weather or not you will accept him/her on the expense of people health and safety, it doesn’t matter, you just keen about generating some leads, may be in future you can text them if you do some expansion but patient’s health doesn’t matter.

I have been to a few clinics in my time living in Calgary and I can whole-heartedly say that this clinic and its staff are wonderful. Dr. Hussein is truly a gem and really cares for all the patients needs. Really happy to have him as my family doctor!
