It was a great experience. If you love thrifting, give it a shot, it's not your typical goodwill ;) i saw some live bin rotation, but after a while it all started to be clothes must just be luck of the draw, but you never know unless you go!
Pay by the pound thrifting! Anything that doesn't sell in Goodwill stores is moved here in bulk and placed in rolling Different experience to regular thrifting, and not for everyone. Any category of goods can be mixed in together (furniture kept separately) so expect to rummage. Don't bring children under 13, it's a rule and there are others to learn as you shop.
Leave the children at home. They're dead weight and can only impede you at this bargain hunter feeding frenzy. Be the first to browse through old and dubiously laundered clothing! Purchase a painting some forgotten genius spent a lifetine conceiving, hundred of hours producing, only to be a the bottom of a pile price at 12 dollars (Oh what a price for the soul) Not my jam, but I got some raw houndstooth cloth to make curtains out of. So I'm giving this den of inequity a solid MEH. Girl that love a bargain will love this place though.
Goodwill bins is a great place to shop various things on a very low price. From clothing, toys, household items and many more. This pllace is organized and washrooms are clean. Friendly staff too.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I tried going with my kids (whom I don't have a babysitter for) and they immediately turned me away. Pretty messed up that a thrift store doenst allow parents with their kids to thrift. I won't be wasting my time with goodwill anymore. And such a shame cause I used to shop with goodwill often. Good customer lost. Don't discriminate against parents. We don't all have help with our kids and have to take them places. Such a joke of a place.
Never had an issue in the past.now can't use carts for support in walking handling lots stuff but a little pull thing? How does that work for anyone who have mobile issues? Not good for anyone with limited walking disabilities.since when did the change the rules? During covid time? I wouldn't waste my time going there again
So this place is. I should have taken photos. It is like dumpster diving and thrift shopping had a baby. ️ We spent an hour and a half there today. And I felt odd watching the feeding frenzy that occurred with each new set of bins that were placed out: "And. Go! " But we mostly stayed back and sifted through and found alot of really great items. 21 items actually, including a gorgeous formal dress, jeans, sweaters, shirts, baskets, Christmas decor, kids clothes and a couple of unopened toys for $15.50! Certainly, many folks are there to find, and re-sell. Good for them! I see that as a win-win. We were just looking for a few items on a list we had and considered the time a success! We will be back (but not often. Don't have that kind of free time. ️
I've been in goodwill for long time, but I feel comfortable buying stuff in outlet store Edmonton, they are very helpful especially one of the team leader name Marie.
This was probably the most popular place to get various home items at a very low price. You can find books, shoes, furniture, cabinets, and many more! It is nice visiting such places because you would find a lot of great items at low prices. Every dollar was worth it here.
Really interesting place, lots and lots of items.its a total treasure hunt.unfortunately i couldn't shop around because of a child but for safety and completely understandable they don't allow 12 and under in store. Cashier was very nice, explained how things work (shopping and payment method)
Very confusing, went once and won't go again. There should be a sign upon entry, next to the front door explaining that the bins and carts are different. It took me awhile to understand that people are there for hours scavenging for items and slowly load up their carts that they leave unattended on the side. Everything is weighed for pricing. It looks like everything there is for sale, and it's a lot to take in visually. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING IN ABANDONED CARTS BY THE WALL, turns out it's not for sale and is already claimed, I did not know this. Staff was very friendly, but I found the other shoppers to be pushy/rude. Definitely made me appreciate the calmer shopping experience at a regular Goodwill store. Found a few things but I won't be back, the energy was too intense, not really for those who enjoy browsing. No refunds or exchanges.
Please update your hours if you don’t stay open till 5pm. I’ve attempted to drop off 3 times around 4: 50pm and doors have always been closed and locked.
Im very disappointed at the no children under 12 policy.why can. I basiclly was turned away the other day.my Daughter is 2 but was in a stroller. I traveled on bus so it was easy to get to. My aunt happened to be with me so I had to have her watch my Daughter outside in the heat while i took a quick look. The staff could have let my aunt and daughter wait inside by the door but we were told no one under 12 is allowed in. I feel this is wrong.
Goodwill sells items online and leftovers go on the shelf. They inform their employees not to tell the details to avoid backlash from customers. Donated nice things, not resoldin the community if it's valuable.
Pretty solid first time here.got a lot of cool pieces for such an unbelievable price as they charge by weight and not individual item.if you've noticed the rise in prices at other thrift stores you'll really appreciate the savings here, especially if you're buying a lot of items.come equipped with reusable bags, some gloves/hand sanitizer, and the knowledge that you will absolutely have to deal with pushy, aggressive regulars and resellers who hang around all day at the bins and lack manners and basic decency while sifting.that's about the only thing keeping me from giving it a full 5-star review - otherwise an overall exhilarating and enjoyable experience if you like to shop secondhand and find unique pieces.it's a fast-paced and charmingly chaotic environment, as everyone gathers around waiting for fresh bins to dig through.if you struggle with social anxiety, don't like being in extremely close proximity (i mean quite literally shoulder to shoulder) to other shoppers, or just prefer the calmness and relaxed, at-your-own-pace vibe of a traditional thrift i can't say i'd recommend it as people move extremely quickly to pick through the bins.it's also not specifically organized by category or size so it's just bins of random treasures which adds an element of excitement.very cool to visit but it's far different than shopping in a typical goodwill or equivalent.if you can, maybe bring a friend/people you're comfortable with to help you enjoy the experience a bit more if need be.i'm glad i went and will most likely be back as soon as i can.fun way to spend the afternoon and thrilled about my new stuff!
Very different to anything I am used to. Seems like people spend hours here waiting on new stuff to be brought out in bins. Can see if you resell stuff this would maybe be worth it, but its 3 hours from home so not ideal for revisiting frequently.
This place is insane! I found so much! The other shoppers are pretty intense so watch out and move quickly! the people working there were great and super helpful!
Definitely one of my favourite thrift stores, the prices are great & the staff are SO kind! You can find really good stuff here, my only problem about coming here is some of the Customers are VERY pushy & get way to close for comfort.
This thrift center offers a unique shopping experience, I was able to find furniture for my new home super cheap and in decent repair, and digging through the clothes bins got be quite a good haul!
What a great Idea for a thrift store. There are several rows of bins that are brought out and removed throughout the day in a systematic order. You get the opportunity for 20-30 minutes to go through those bins before they are remove and replaced with fresh ones.
The staff there are great and always friendly to chat with. The real downside to this location is the entitled and pushy regulars, they try to make up their own rules and will do anything to get ahead of you in line. Most of them are resellers and not traditional thrift store shoppers. Stand your ground with them and don't let anyone not in a Goodwill shirt tell you what to do as they will take advantage to get you out of their way. Staff would do well to put time limits on people when the store is busy. I'll update to 4 star if they start reigning them in somehow as that would make a more pleasant experience.
Prices are by weight with cheaper prices when you go over 50lbs or for books.
Awesome place with amazing finds Just wish people would be more considerate and not act like savages at the bins. Idk why people think it’s ok to be this way. Super annoying- that’s my only complaint and has nothing to do with the organization. People!
The owners and employees are very rude, lots of drama here, "Leaders" with power trips. This place is disgusting. Don't come here unless you're looking to fight.
Goodwill states that our best donations are sold back to us. It's not true with the books from the donation centers, only true with some store donations. Ask the employees some are aware. If anyone has more information about Goodwill behind the scenes book process please let me know as we are currently building information. Especially regarding the changes end of 2019 and early 2020.
Beware this place is very addicting and your boy will probably hate it. So ditch your hubbies and start digging gold here, maybe with a pair of gloves.
Can somebody tell me where on their website it says no children under16 are not allowed in the store went there and waited to go in and got told no babies allowed but yet their store allow them.frustrating
Tried calling multiple times on multiple days to see if they are receiving donations. For some reason they have a long message of their outdated holiday hours and then it says to speak to a representative press zero. Every time I press zero, it hangs up on me. Every time. It’s a little farther drive but I’ll take my donations elsewhere.
Well hello to you all you can never go wrong here folks ill tell you a little secret get it letest wraped you can taste the juice from the patties better just love it so you try it. Happy holidays to you all. Regards
Zero directions like that you need $5 cash as a deposit for a card. They allow 22 people in at a time. The staff are not helpful at all. The clothes are sold by the pound $2 up to 50lbs over its $1. I just wanted old clothes for rags to fill a Heavy Bag. Nothing was of quality to wear as clothing, in hindsight I could have gone to princess auto or Gregs distributors and bought rags 15lb for $10.
Friendly staff and amazing deals if you're willing to dig. Sounds like entry times change a bit tho due to covid. Count on waiting in line for quite a while
Price matching is a super awesome feature of all Liquor Depots and this one is in the neighborhood. This location also has very helpful and polite workers.
I bought a mirror here and broke it when I got home. That has nothing to do with Goodwill but I did get a great price. The store is well organized and run well.
I am appalled by the lack of safety regarding the operation of the forklift I witnessed in the warehouse by one of the younger fellows while the other guy laughed. The machines are not toys. Getting them up on two wheels or spinning them mindlessly is a recipe for disaster. And when you drive forward, you are never ever supposed to have the forks raised. Forks at eye level are easily missed by bystanders and are liable to strike someone causing serious injury.
Someone is going to get killed here.
Can those lunatics and make sure the next batch of people you stick behind the wheel of a forklift attend a training course!
I can only imagine how the trucks on the road are operated!
Goodwill is not just a donation centre but also changing lives of the community especially the needy. You guys are amazing. Keep up the good work. Thank you!
I think its a great place the only thing I would like to see is a time limit on how long a person can be in the store and only one visit per day that way other people could get a chance at the things there because not everyone can spend the whole day after day there. Thank You to the staff there they are always willing to help out
The place is really hit or miss.found a good deal in an excercise bike but the 3/4 of an hour I waited to get in to find nothing was telling of how things go here. They only let a small number of people in at a time.and those people spend quite a while going through the items and just hanging out waiting for new inventory while others are left outside waiting to get in, be patient it could be an hour or more to get in and you may not find thing so.yeah
It was a treasure hunt experience sorting through rubbish to find gold. You'll need to go with 2-3 ppl if you are looking for certain items as people come prepared to take it all. All the sports/active wears were all taken by one lady who came with her family.lol.so there were non for me but was a good experience
The only thing to complain about here are some of the other customers. They act like vultures and don't care if you're disabled. They will absolutely throw stuff in your way/at you and and push you out of the way so they can get their greedy hands on good deals.
And this is every single time I visit with every new bin that comes. There may be rules but they are disregarded and not as enforced as they should be.
This place is the best kept secret in Edmonton. Shhhh don’t tell anyone. Ask a front desk attendant what the rules are if it’s your first time, this will avoid pickers from yelling at you.
Dropping off a truck load toys and clothes 525pm was told I have 5min to unpack my truck.thank god another staff member came up and helped me get it all in
Decent second hand stuff if you willing to dig through bins n bins of stuff. One BIG issue is there is a tiny/short supervisor/manager treating customers like kids and being mean.
Interesting place have to see beyond what's in front of you. Could repurpose lots of the furniture and you will have a great deal. Need stamina to go through the clothing bins
