EDMONTON INDOOR CLEAN AIR SERVICES

I was compelled to write this review following my recent conversation with Mr. Kevin. He was following up with me about a furnace servicing, I advised him that his wonderful team had connected with me earlier this year (2023) and Kevin confirmed that information.

I lightly glanced at some of the previous testimonies from other customers and it made me realize that conducting business with the Internet can be difficult with bad word of mouth. I can attest it is very frightening to invite just anyone into our homes but we need heating to stay warm in Edmonton's winters and for our overall health. I have been in good relations with Kevin and his team since 2013 and even further back when my parents did business with his organization while they were under former Sear's furnacing representative and I enjoy his patience over the telephone to help me understand my furnace, hot water tank and ducting. I have studied all of my past receipts and I feel 100% knowledgeable with Edmonton Indoor Clean Air Services' charges and raises when they need to.

I know Edmonton Indoor Clean Air Services is a physical location and I hope to one day politely knock on their door so that I may meet Kevin in-person. When his team calls I know it is not to be any hindrance, it is the old-fashioned method of conducting business to earn customer's trust. And through the coldest of Edmonton winters back in 2020 I was grateful by my wife and I not freezing at home because of this business' hard work and effort.

I must sat that I have had my furnace and ducts cleaned in the past with minimal satisfaction, but when I had Edmonton Indoor Clean Air do the cleaning, I was totally impressed at how fast, efficient and thorough they were. Right from the initial free inspection they offered, to the workers who came to perform the work (it's like they really cared about the quality of work they were doing) I was extremely happy. Then I received a customer service call after the job was done and the manager (Kevin Cowan) asked us how everything went and if we were totally satisfied with the job that was done. I have never had another company give such personal service. I would recommend them any time.

Excellent service - arrived on time, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I am a repeat customer.

This company really cares about customer satisfaction and they will go the extra nine yards to ensure that customer expectations are met. No quick get the job done and no further contact here - follow-up is superb. The quality of the work was outstanding with great attention to detail and full explanations provided to allow the customer to comprehend everything that has been done. The workers have decades of experience and know what they are doing. No 20 year old wet-behind-the-ears fresh out of trade school person is allowed to take charge of the job, Management recommends that customers make sure that all charges are fully understood up front so that nothing will come as a surprise when the billing is delivered, Excellent dependable service and support!

I had used them years ago when they were part of Sears and we had a mantenance agreement for annual inspections/cleaning and at least once since Sears closed. I was impressed that their technicians have been with the company for 15+ years. They arrived on time and completed the work as discussed.furnace, ductwork & hot water tank inspection & cleaning plus a small repair to the drainage pipe for the humidifier and got my electronic furnace filter working again. The office followed up 2 days later and answered all my questions. My recommendations would be for the office to be more transparent about service fees (fuel surcharges) expected on the bill. Also, for the technician to invite the customer to see the condition of the furnace and ductwork before and after cleaning (part of their checklist). Hindsight being 20/20, I will probably use them again, but be more attentive to the work being done and what is expected on the bill. I will also be checking prices for replacement filters prior to work being done. (Their price for the vapour pad seemed high).

I stopped in to inquire about replacing filters for 2 furnaces and the staff there were very helpful in answering my questions and assisting me.

Told this business multiple times to stop calling as we are on the do not call list and have never used them. They do not listen and keep calling. Not impressed. Will be reporting them to the CRTC.

I am cold-called by this company multiple times a year for many years now despite me telling them that I don’t even live in a house with ducts to clean and to please stop calling me. If I answer the call, they either abruptly hang up without a word as I’m responding, or a couple of times have interrupted/cut me off mid-word with a clipped “Okay. ” or “Bye. ” and hung up. If I don’t answer, they never leave a voicemail, but sometimes will call again later that day or week. They have been calling me every month so far this year. Please. Stop.

I wish I could give no stars to this company. They are predatory and make money off of scamming seniors. Unfortunately my father was taken by them. Their tactic seems to be to cold-call unsuspecting seniors and then show up right away the same day for a "service" appointment. They handed my dad three different invoices, none of which make much sense, which totalled $1200!
I later had a reputable company in to service the furnace, and when I showed them the invoices, the bits they could understand, they told me that this company massively over-charged for parts.
Given their business tactics, I highly doubt they did much quality maintenance or inspection on the furnace.
The following year they must have called my father again to make an appointment. But that time my sibling was there when they came to the door. When he heard who they were, he told them they did not want their services, and the technician at the door was extremely rude.
Steer clear of this outfit. Maybe they do decent work for some people, but they are definitely in the business of taking advantage of seniors.

Chris, Charlene and Francois were nothing less than stellar. Extremely professional, friendly and I couldn't be happier. We were able to schedule with no hassle, and the follow up by Bob to ensure everything was done well reminded me of my time in customer service and what I used to tell my associates, "If you don't follow up, you don't know if you have made a customer happy. ". Great work, and they have made a customer for life.

My Grandmother had this company. The adviser made false promises about what the service would be. Upon completing the job, she was handed an additional bill of $481 of things that to her understanding should have been included in the original estimate. She also caught them trying to instal an electronic filter that DEFINITELY was not agreed upon. The additional bill that she had not agreed upon was charged to her credit card without her consent and without her signature! This company should be shut down! SENIORS BEWARE!

This company has called at least 5 times over the past few years. They do not respect the DNC list and switch numbers to defeat the call blocking. They are a disreputable company that don't respect customer's privacy. Unfortunately by switching calling tel number reporting them to the government has no impact.

Once again, Edmonton Clean Air (ECA) has performed a through duct cleaning and servicing of furnace, hot water and AC systems. ECA arrives on time and works efficiently with minimal disruption to our household. We are on the yearly maintenance schedule. This insures our furnace and AC systems are working in top notch shape. With this program, we can call day or night for immediate service should a failure occur.

We would highly recommend Edmonton Clean Air for all your ducts, furnace and AC needs.

BUYER BEWARE THESE GUYS ARE SCAMMERS!
They did a basic cleaning, something that I could do with a large air compressor for 300$. OK kinda sketchy, but then installed about 1600$ worth of stuff NOT IN THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT ALL THE GARBAGE THEY INSTALLED WOULD BE ABOUT 400$ TO DO YOURSELF.

The technician that came to the house were very courteous friendly and did the work in a timely fashion. They explained the system well showing me how to clean and maintain the filter. I was impressed with the job that was done and will recommend to others

*SENIORS BEWARE* I could not be more disappointed and appalled after the services done by this company. Not only did they MANIPULATE and TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A SENIOR CITIZEN, but the 'management' was an absolute embarrassment. Kevin claims he discussed pricing with my ELDERY grandparent and when the bill comes it was THOUSANDS more than what they were initally told. They did not break down the pricing of each service and added on UNNECESSARY treatments at every turn. Upselling an elderly woman- I don't think you get much worse than that. To top it all off, when I went to voice my concerns, Kevin was more concerned with telling me about his ankle injury than addressing the problem. He continued to ramble nonsense and avoid the situation incessantly. Lastly, a grown man was raising his voice to talk over me. If you are unsure of this company, this is your sign to steer clear, and I will ensure everyone and anyone knows about the deceit and upselling to the elderly that takes place here.

All employs were positive and polite. Have had this company service my furnace and ducts for multiple years and plan on staying with them in the future. They are willing to even come change my air filter for me. Sharon Whincup

They were very efficient, polite, on-time and did an excellent job. There was follow-up and confirmation every step of the way, from the quote to the job completion. Would definitely use again.

It is a total scam because they are not honest about what they do
Dino came & spent almost 2 hours telling me all about it & trying to sell me extras
except the fact that he did not tell me the 2 workers they sent were not covered in the contract & if I had not asked when the furnace guy came I would have been charged double!
Yes it is in the contract I signed but they made sure I didn’t notice
So- I got only my ducts cleaned for $625 - no repair, inspection, cleaning on the furnace as I was lead to believe - unless I wanted to pay another $500 or so

Had I read these reviews I would have missed out on a great service.
They cleaned my ductwork, installed a germacidal light in my duct and cleaned my furnace, I was happy with how prompt they were, how diligent with my one vent that is irregular.
Will gladly invite them back.

Have not used this service, but we repeatedly get unwanted calls from this company despite us having told them to take our number off their call list. Honestly have no idea how they even got it.

Installed FLOW THROUGH HUMIDIFIER UNIT MODEL 200. Are happy with the work and efficiency or the job. Friendly and courteous installers. Would recommend this company and service. Thank you. Garry.

Bought some items that I needed where others weren't to my liking from other outlets
. The lights are working fine. Bob, I believe was the attendant and was very friendly and good and appeared to be knowledgable

The service was amazing. They were at my house for a couple hours cleaning my ducts. The service tech Tom asked me to check the ducts after the cleaning was done. So happy with it all.

We are very pleased with the service received today. Great service, very polite and highly professional. Wonderful job by Francois and Tom fixing the furnace and cleaning the ducts. I will definitely use them again.

Waiting for a call back from Dino/Kevin. Dino signed us up for a top quality $600 package but that is not what we received. Mirror test? Not yet. Stay tuned.

Had some issues with the billing but Kevin has assured me it will be amended. Great guy good service and good work.

I get spam phone calls from this company multiple times a year even though I'm on a do not call list and have repeatedly told them to stop calling. They obviously have very low concern for ethics since transgressing Canadian anti-spam laws isn't beneath them.

I recently tried Edmonton Indoor Clean Air Services for getting my furnace inspected and my ventilation ducts cleaned. They also do a variety of other services as well such as checking and servicing hot water tanks, Air Conditioning Services and so on. The work was promptly and efficiently completed over a two day period. The workmen were polite and efficient in performing their tasks.
They cleaned up after themselves such that one would never have known they were even there.
I appreciated that very much. It adds greatly toward customer satisfaction.
I spoke with the manager Kevin and he was very helpful, knowledgeable and acomodating as well. I was overall, very happy with the guaranteed results and I certainly can attest to the fact that they are tops when it comes to this sort of service here in Edmonton. Had a phone call today (March 24 2020) from a lady at this company encouraging me to book an appointment with a tech to come to my home after they have been booked solid and going from home to home. I asked if this was an appropriate time to be doing this given the current pandemic and explained the transmission etc. She then asked me to take her email address to send her money for her rent and then hung up.
While I appreciate the need to work and have money to survive, it won’t make much of a difference if this spreads out of control and people continue to not do as the government is instructing. Maybe their managers/owners needs to reassure their staff or make a plan. Travelling house to house through Alberta at this time is not smart and not even encouraged by our public health EXPERTS! I am a front line health care worker and am doing my best to be safe and healthy for my family, myself and my patients! Please do better for the good of everyone.

Was solicited for an appointment. Made it clear I could not be earlier than agreed upon time and may even be a minute or 2 late, my husband rearranged his work schedule to get there. Confirmed 20 minutes prior to appointment, only to arrive to find card left in door and service quote person not there. Called and was told they had 2 appointments booked at the same time and their quoter was sent to the other place. I’m not really sure if this business realizes how unprofessional this is. As well really disrespectful of other people’s time.

Horrible company. Another scammed senior to add to this company's really bad BBB rating. They called my mom to say they wanted to check her ducts to make sure all was good. She thought that was odd but she said sure they can check the ducts. They suggested a few other add-ons but she declined saying she couldn't afford it. They came in with all their cleaning equipment which surprised mom. She asked them if they were cleaning because she had given permission to check the ducting, they told her it was booked as a cleaning. She let them clean, even though that is not what she wanted. She then went downstairs and found a 3rd guy working on the furnace. She said she didn't even see him come in and asked him what he was doing. He told her "it was all good, nothing to worry about", but no further explanation of what he was doing. All said and done, she was given a bill for $2600 for work that was never explained, never given an estimate for, and never authorized. Then I see on Better Business Bureau that this is their regular MO for scamming defenseless seniors. Shame on you Edmonton Indoor Clean Air Services!

Caution Everyone. Same Story as previous. Company did the same disappointing sales gimmic to my Mother too. I have the copy of the work orders (which was three pages for one visit). Mom initialled the Vent work was complete. A second page for Furnace Service which was $299.25 (no parts required). They had Mom initial this page for $299.
Third page was the summary of the work order shows work (as below) ; If you see the work order and do the Math it doesn't add up, regardless whether they pay extra for vents (not marked). My Mother actually thought she was being charged $300.what she initialled. I am sure there was two or three people there, and no doubt confused my Mother even more. **For those of you with Seniors to care for please alert them of any phone solicitations, and make sure nobody enters the house without her additional family representative there.
Further note here, $600 to clean vents in a small bungalow with an unfinished basement.

It's obvious from the reviews and speaking to Kevin that this company is quite comfortable and self righteous in taking advantage of the elderly. I hope you all sleep well at night. Just sad.

Ac failed after tech was out to inspect and service and 1 year supposed guarantee, apparently needed part was not part of guarantee $600 extra, already paid $800+ for the guarantee, wonder if ac would have failed, if it wasn’t inspected!

They came to my mother's house supposedly to clean the furnace and ducts. Turns out they installed a bunch of other things and have screwed her out of $3,000.00. They just did the work, which was not needed, and didn't even ask or get authorization. Just gave her a bill at the end.

CRIMINALS! Took my elderly parents for thousands without giving a quote - without asking if the work should be done - adding items they NEVER NEEDED and BILLED THEM. All under the guise of "Routine Maintenance" You should be ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!

It's rush hour and your vehicle is blocking a lane that has been a no parking zone for almost an hour and a half now. Blocking buses and people just trying to get home for that long earns you a 1 star review. I hope you get towed!

Zero starts, RUN AWAY. They clearly have a habit of preying on seniors based on the reviews below. They did the same to my grandmother. The worst company in Edmonton.
