My dog has been seeing Dr. Parmar since she was a puppy. He is extremely knowledgeable and goes above and beyond in caring for pets. Cannot recommend him enough

Super nice staff. Got cat xrays/shots/blood tests. They spent a lot of time explaining things, which was nice.but my cat has been living for 2 months and still is? And i don't know why.

This is the absolute best get in the city. They care there and they won't take money for unnecessary things. He is amazing as is his staff.

I can never thank Dr. Parmar enough for all the help and compassion over the years. Going above and beyond for my dogs! Even meeting me after hours to help in our time of need. Your service to this community has not gone unnoticed.

I had a great experience with Dr. Parmer, he is personable, friendly and you can tell he genuinely loves animals. He came after hours to attend to the needs of my dog. Not only does he take time to get to know the animal but he also takes time to get to know the family. Thank you Dr. Parmer for everything you do for us, we truly appreciate.

Late on a Saturday evening our dog became very sick. He couldn't stand or walk and was totally disoriented.
Dr. Parmer told us to come straight to his office and he would meet us there.
After some tests and some fantastic veterinarian care, our dog was diagnosed.
Thanks so much for all the fabulous care you've given to all our family pets.

I took my Yorkie to the Dr here to get her teeth cleaned.
He pulled 10 teeth and sent us home with only 1 day of painkillers for her. I took her back several times that week to see why she wasn't eating, and was told that I just had a spoiled dog, and it was all my fault.
He didn't care how much pain she was in at all.
That was 3 weeks ago.
I took her to another vet where she was diagnosed with pancreatitis.
On Friday I rushed her to the hospital and quickly found out that she had SEVERE ILEUS from her SURGERY!
She has been suffering for 3 weeks because of their incompetency and may die.

This is a rally good vet. I have been with them for about 4 years and every year they help me go to the vet please it is really good.

Please do not go to this animal hospital. The vet at this hospital did not know how to diagnose and treat my dog. I had to euthanize my beloved dog because of the vet. When I brought my dog in, the vet said my dog just needed medication and rest at home. If symptoms got worse, just bring the dog in to the hospital right away without an appointment. When my dog’s symptoms got worse and I brought my dog to the hospital, the vet asked why did I bring a nearly dead dog to the hospital. The vet kept telling me emergency medical for my dog is very expensive and how emergency care will cost us a lot of money.

Called asking about cat food and if there was the kind I needed in stock, the doctor starting telling me no and I asked why. He said because I am not a client there. I stated I was in the area needing some cat food and then he got mad and said "I will look up your number and find where you live. It takes 5 minutes for me to do that" so he is threatening me because I asked to buy cat food. Pathetic.

I worked here for a few days, and I was treated extremely poor.i waz expected to know everything. I am made to feel so bad about myself and told this isn’t for me if i don’t know how to do certain things.i am not a person to remember loads of information in ONE DAY! It takes time and mistakes to become better however he does not care. He puts on an act that he is caring and loves these pets but from someone who was there a FEW days i can tell you right now he doesn’t care.he takes a quick glance and makes an “diagnosis” sure his prices are cheap SOMETIMES but he is so disrespectful and so rude and so ignorant he never lets you speak and speaks DOWN ON YOU.and when he “teaches” you something half the time I knew what i was doing or the basics of it and he kept correcting me saying i was wrong but when he did it he did the exact same thing i previously did.he thinks he’s better than people, realistically he is due to his position but that does NOT give him the right to treat his staff this way. That’s why he is always hiring new people because there are already two new girls there we will see how long they last before they can’t handle his rudeness and degrading attitude towards his staff LOL good luck girls

Called while looking for a vet clinic for kittens. Staff called me unprofessional for inquiring about prices for pet exams. My kittens are family and I want the best for them, this is not a place I would take them too.

This animal hospital is absolutely amazing. My pet Loki was bitten by another cat and was badly infected (needed immediate attention and surgery). Dr. R. Parmar took him in and was treating him gently and kindly. It is evident that Dr. R. Parmar genuinely cared about Loki and all animals in general. For many pet owners a check up is costly, at the Edmonton North Animal Hospital Dr. R. Parmar is extremely considerate with the pricing, charging us in a fair and honest manner. Loki required surgery, and surgery is extremely expensive, Dr. R. Parmar's Hospital does not run on money but runs on honest dedication and love for what they do. After surgery we took Loki home with a cast on him so he does not lick the wound. Sadly the cast did come off because I had removed it and put it back on the wrong way and Loki's wound was opened. I immediately called Dr. R. Parmar and he, without an appointment or hesitation, told me to come for a check up and so I did. After the check up we found out that one of Loki's stitches was off and the Dr.had to apply a new stitch. After it was done I asked him for the price of the checkup and the stitch and he told me not to worry and that it was free of charge. In conclusion, if your pet or your friends pet or any animal you know and care about needs a check up or medical help, I HIGHLY recommend the Edmonton North Animal Hospital.

After 4 vets, this father and son duo are incredible. And they care about your family, your pets are not just an invoice to them. I got they charge and what they offer is almost unfair to them! We have 3 cats so it adds up. With them it’s more then fair edit sept07,2021. He took our cat in and saved us $2600+ during labour day…. We noticed our cat was going to the litter often and not peeing much. And now he is good.

They quickly found the source of my pet's illness and prescribed the medication within 30 minutes.

TO ANY PET OWNERS WHO LOVE AND CARE ABOUT THEIR PETS: After being a client for 9 years, this is my personal opinion and honest review. I do not recommend this clinic.

It seems to me, based on my experiences, that Dr. Ranjit Parmar is running his clinic to profit off of sick and injured pets. In my Interactions with Dr. Parmar, he lacked empathy and kindness towards me and our suffering pet and based on the missed diagnosis of his condition it also seems like they lack basic knowledge of pet care. He misdiagnosed my dog after x-rays, blood work and a full physical exam, billed us for almost $800.00, only for us to seek a second opinion a day later and discover that Dr. Parmar’s diagnosis was completely wrong. He diagnosed my dog as having a stomach problem resulting in gas and tried to sell me dog food when in fact my dog had a pinched nerve in his neck - after receiving the proper diagnosis and proper medication he’s feeling much better. Also, I have had my dog for nine years and have never heard him scream in such a way with so much pain. I knew it wasn’t a diet issue as he is on very good food with no modification. After picking up my dog they mentioned that we monitor him for one day and if he cries again we will have to pay for an ultrasound. When I called the clinic to ask for my dogs file to be sent elsewhere, Dr. Parmar yelled at me over the phone, insisting that I was an “angry” customer over and over again. My husband later had to call and speak to the office and defend me over his rude, unprofessional and disrespectful behaviour.

This is NOT the only mistake this clinic has made - we are forgiving and understanding people, however our dog has suffered for years under this doctors care. We wanted to stay loyal to the clinic, however after multiple traumatic experiences our dog and we have gone through, I felt it was time to write an honest review.

During one visit, my dog needed a simple gland expression as he is a small breed and his clinic has done that many times for him except on this occasion they said he needed to be sedated to do it. They brought my dog out, HALF SEDATED, resulting in my dog falling flat on his face, arms and legs spread out, jolting his body onto the ground. I insisted they take my dog back until he was completely out of his sedation. Absolutely awful and terrifying to see! Another time, when getting my dogs nails clipped, I brought him back home and found his paw in a puddle of blood. They had cut his nail too short and failed to warn me.

In my opinion, this clinic is out to profit off of individuals only seeking appropriate care for their pets. I truly have nothing positive to say about Edmonton North Animal Hospital.

Do not take your animals here. The doctor is so unprofessional and treats his staff poorly. He only cares about your money. He will belittle you if you are on a budget and tell you that you are a horrible pet parent. So unprofessional that one of the girls had to come out and apologize for his behaviour to my wife and I. I will NEVER go back again or give them any of my service.

Don’t EVER go here. The doctor is absolutely horrible and rude. I called to ask for the price to spay my dog and a lady answered the phone then suddenly a male took the phone and I found out it was the doctor. He was very rude to me once I said I was not a client there. He said he will not give me any service because I must be a client for 10 years then went on to say that I’m not a good pet parent because I was asking for the price because I need to know how much to put aside. With all my disrespect, do not go there. I cannot believe how rude he was over the phone and took the phone from the lady whom I was speaking too from the beginning.

I would not recommend taking your pet to this veternarian as Dr. Parmar charges too much money. Dt, Parmar always finds ways to bill extra for his services. Dr. Parmar tries to find ways to fill his pockets full of cash, so that his customers are broke.

Horrible doctor. Inappropriate and rude. Tells you you are a horrible pet owner for asking for the price of services.

We had a terrible experience with Dr. Parmar. We brought our cat in for an abscess that's infected. Our cat scratched him, and because of that he determined our cat is in "extreme pain" and prescribed morphine and said we need to extract his teeth. We wanted more information (he's had this once before and while it's undoubtedly painful, he isn't showing indicators of being in "extreme" pain and is very gentle with us, energetic, and past vets didn't recommend this at all). He said if we don't do what he says, he'll report us to animal control. We clarified "are you saying asking questions for clarification on medication and procedures warrants being reported to animal control" and he said YES! We bought the morphine because we were scared he wouldn't give us our cat back, and now we have to reschedule with another vet who isn't an extortionist to ensure our cat is getting the proper type of medical care. I will be reporting him to the ABVMA.

This has to be one of the best Vets in Edmonton, they are so caring and kind. They always have the best interest of your pet and are truly amazing.

Friendly staff, vet has gone above and beyond. Walked in over 1.5 hours after they were closed but thought I'd try and they were open and helped me out!

I had called this afternoon to inquire about the cost for a routine spay procedure. It was a man who answered the phone and had asked for my phone number, I told him I was not a client so I wouldn’t be on file. He then asked for my address and I asked why I needed to give my address if I would just like to know the cost for surgery. I mentioned I did not feel comfortable giving my address just to get the cost and he immediately switched his tone of voice to be very rude and full of attitude. He said began to say you need a 10year relationship with a vet to get services done and implied I was a bad pet owner for inquiring about pricing. He compared my dog to a “pack of cigarettes” saying $10-20 dollars difference should mean nothing to me. I felt attacked and very disheartened from this phone call so I ended up hanging up the phone on him. I called back about 1 hour later to voice my concern about the call and a lady answered, she was very friendly/polite and told me that was their DOCTOR who I talked to previously. I am not a regular client of this clinic nor will I ever go there. I will not ever recommend this clinic to any friends or family. There are other clinics close by to them who were much more friendly and open on the phone. I would not take my loved pets to a clinic where the doctor berates clients over the phone.

Dr Ranjit Parmar Was Amazing With Our Dog, Kippur was Throwing Up constantly Dr Ranjit kept him over Night and did Surgury on him Without his help we would not have Kippur Thank You Dr Ranjit Parmar.

Went there a couple of times for our previous cat. The vet was rude and changed his prices on the fly. I don't think he likes doing this job.

Have been taking our dogs there for years, always a good experience, great vet, very good pricing!

When our beloved Ivan was not able to hold food down and acting weird we had planned to take him to a vet at a later time. I happened upon Dr. Parmar’s clinic when I was dropping off some items at the library next to it and asked about Ivan’s condition. The staff was very knowledgeable and informed it could be quite serious. She went to talk to the Doctor and he said he would stay late and take a final patient because the situation did not sound good. I quickly drove home and brough back iVan for examination. Dr Parmar was obviously skilled in his ability and assessed that Ivan must have eaten something that does not show up on the X-rays. He informed he would have to operate and said that if he did not find anything he would not charge for the full operation. Well, we left poor Ivan in Dr. Parmar’s capable hands and an hour later (after the clinic was closed to the public on Saturday) received a call from the staff informing the Doctor wanted us to come see what he pulled out of our cat! Dr. Parmar showed us all the junk our cat had backed up in his intestines. Shoe laces, and a pompom from a Christmas decoration! Dr. Parmar had to go along Ivan;s intestines and make incisions to remove everything. He saved our cat’s life and when all was said and done we discovered Dr. Parmar had worked tirelessly all day doing surgeries and had not even had time to eat. Thank you Dr. Parmar for taking our need seriously and keeping open and on the clock to help our Ivan. On top of it all they kept Ivan for a few days at no extra charge to make sure everything was good and he could begin eating and passing food properly. I highly commend Dr. Parmar’s expertise. He has expansive knowledge and has been a Vet for a long time. We will be going back to him from now on with all of our three cats. He also gives his cell number for when the clinic is closed.
