Last time I went here the audio and video equipment was overpriced. But I recently went back and saw much cheaper and affordable prices. I even got a pair of energy bookshelf speakers for $15 dollars. Nice employees and good prices
Micheal helped me get my donation bag out of my car. He saw my car and came running to help me. He was very sweet and courteous. We need more people like Micheal.
As with my last visit, I had the pleasure of being looked after by Michael. Very cheerful, polite, and genuine. No sooner did I pull up than Michael appeared ready to help. Good job and thank you
It’s splitting hairs a bit, but the prices are fairly high for a thrift store. I got a Calvin Klein dress for $20. Other stores would be between $13-$16. But it is large, and clean.
Large selection fair in pricing as these stores become increasingly more expensive, although I found it funny that I found a jar selling for 2.50 but the original price which was on the bottom of the jar was1.50
Went to donate an suv full of boxed housewares items, the two guys at the receiving area just stood and watched me. They did not acknowledge me, offer to help unload, or even at least thank me for donating.
My favorite good will in the city. I rarely if ever leave with nothing in hand. I have noticed the prices starting to get out of hand on housewares however. Hence only 4 stars. I never see anything priced cheaper than 3.99
What can I say I’m a thrifter I love it. Prices on certain things are dumb tho. But most of my “where did you get that “ clothing items u boast are from GG
A nice store. Lots of variation and selection, with lots of sizes. The store was pretty busy when I was there, and so it was kind of hectic and the sizes were out of order, but it was still a vert good experience overall.
Their return policy sucks! I purchased 2 electronic items both that didn't work. I live in spruce grove and only come to Edmonton goodwill a couple times a month. I also have 2 little kids so things are so unpredictable. I missed the 7 day return policy both times for broken items.
Each time I go I spend money at least 20+ my kids play with the toys and everytimr I'm there one of the staff will make rude remarks or stare at me. I always pick up the toys they touch and put them away. The staff stand there and watch me. It has discouraged me from coming. Goodwill needs to have a better lay out for their toys. Rather then a skinny isle where books and shoes are they should have an area in a corner so kids can play and look through toys and decide what one they want. It would be nice to see bagged toys hung on peg boards so it is neater in the aisle at least rather then toys being thrown on shelves and staff getting frustrated when kids and parents take things off the shelf. We have no choice if we want to see what is under 10 other things. Big items should all be neatly in a nice closed off section so kids could ride toys and play with things.
Right now, it's an unorganized mess and needs special attention.
Response to the below:
It was a mouse and keyboard, there is no testing area for this.
Went there today, was happy with the selection of items but the prices are out to lunch. I know they say they have comparable prices to other thrift stores and want to "respect"the donors but that's so inaccurate, found an item that I have bought at Value Village for $5 and this goodwill had it priced at $20!? How is that respecting the donors? Thrift stores are supposed to be cheaper so less fortunate can find things they otherwise can't afford why is it that things are being priced as new? Will be skipping this location, very disappointed.
Lots of great stuff. Even had a bunch of old time video games. Well organized. Prices seemed a little higher then most thrift stores, but the store is relatively new so I can see why.
Im a fan of goodwills. Way better looking stores than Value Village. Only problem is ReSellers wait outside the doors before they open, and beg managers for lower prices complaining that the store is selling items for same price the reseller can get. I actually witnessed this today. Some blond reselker lady begging for more discount. Anyways, if you get real, real lucky, you may see something a reseller has missed, otherwise you pay top dollar, usually close to the same as new.
Kinda pricy. The boutique section. $20 or more dollar sweaters? $25 used shoes? I can get in regular store new for that price. It's donated clothes. Should ditch the boutique seperation. Plus other things overpriced as well.
I will NEVER be returning to this goodwill location after the ignorant and traumatic service I was treated with at the door today. The manager was extremely rude and the front door staff was very disrespectful to my medical disabilities discriminating against me at the door upon arrival. Value Village was way more respectful and allowed me in with no questions asked. This establishment supports discriminatory policies and will no longer be receiving support from me and I hope others consider taking their business elsewhere after reading this.
Why don't you guys openly tell the customers about how your selling the the best books elsewhere then putting leftovers on the shelf. Me and so many others having trouble finding much for desirable books since you guys started doing that in late 2019. So many people believe that all donations end up on the shelf but it's simply not true unless they are not desirable and sellable elsewhere.
You might be unaware since the owner likely doesn't want to share this information with the public since your website states the best items are sold at the store meanwhile they are filtered out and sold elsewhere. Look into it before you make a public statement because you are mistaken and they can also be traced away from the retail stores and shown publicly.
Customer service was horrible and people working were very rude. Especially the lady working the front door at 2: 25pm on Wednesday afternoon had attitude. Poor store layout things just put everywhere. Will not be back to this location.
Beware this location does not allow mask exemptions! 3 days before mask deactivation and management wouldn't budge. I won't be returning after July 1st.
If you are able to get out this far west for shopping I highly recommend that you stop here. The staff were super friendly and I found a few items that would have cost me a lot more anywhere else. With that being said I found the prices were a little higher than other thrift shops the amount of quality items makes up for it. I will definitely shop here again and you should check it out for yourself.
It was a very good experience the place is massive lots to choose from I went in on a yellow sticker 50% off day got some gorgeous bosses for a dollar apiece Wicked Deals good service the staff seemed to wanted to get out of there pretty quick lol.but it was five minutes to closing. I will be back for sure! Can't wait for more summer stuff to come in! =)
Always my go-to thrift store. I used to live in this area and even as I have moved across town, I still find myself coming back to it. Huge store with lots of selection and in a really nice area.
Insane prices! Shop elsewhere. First impression when you walk through the door is "Wow.they have a lot of stuff". I thought I hit the jackpot of good finds, only to find that, no, it's all the same junk as any other thrift store but lots more of it. "Why do they have so much stock? ", I asked myself. High prices! Examples. $65 for a used rug. $20 for 1/16th scale diecast cars that are scratched up and missing parts. $6.50 for a childrens, plastic sippy cup that I'm sure is a Dollarama one. I shop at all Goodwill and Value Village stores across the city regularly but only found this one recently. It has the highest prices of all stores city wide.
After opening in a location that can not be reached by those who need discounted items, the prices went way up. Prices are slashed only by 25-50% off then what you would pay for in a retail store. Be careful what you pay for and know your prices or you will be taken for your money. In an item i bought today the price was slashed only by $. 50, i didn't notice the original price tag until i got home.
Staff are friendly. Have a lot of nice items which the last west Edmonton store did not. After being at a few locations for second hand stores, the quality of items sold all depend on how rich or poor the neighborhood is - this definitly reflects in the moving of this location.
I do not believe Good Will is a not for profit organization any longer. What a shame as everything is donated in hopes to help everyone, not just the pockets of higher management. Reason i stopped shopping value village years ago.
I guess I can understand why you don't want children under the age of 16 inside but why the hell isn't it clearly displayed on the outside off the door so I don't have to waste my time going inside just to get told by a miserable worker that I couldn't bring my 3 year old inside? Lol
I can print out a sign myself and put it there and it would take me no time to do so
Over worked under paid staff price through the roof new much cheaper and they do not help disabled without full pay from goverment and the do not even pay taxes
Liz that works as a supervisor is a totally unprofessional rude nasty attitude! Ignorance And incompassionate.your electronic department is a filthy dirty mess! Old broken junk your asking a fortune for! You are nothing but greedy all for one ower that makes over 2 million a year. I am ashamed of goodwill industry FAKE
This store is huge has a better selection here than most of the other Goodwill locations in Edmonton. So if ur looking for something more specific try this location. Staff member was saying this is the largest store in Alberta. Very good selection and friendly staff. I had a great experience there and found several items here!
Awesome. But need more staff. Need to open bathrooms. Hire more staff to clean. Any time I have been there the places has been extremely busy so you are making money. I found that in the beginning the prices were reasonable but lately they are extremely High. After all I know you have to pay your staff and for the building but keep the prices a little lower and be consistent with them. People will shop more if the bathrooms are open. I will be watching. REMEMBER all the items you receive are Donated. No overhead for produce.
The price hike in items at Goodwill recently is actually absurd and defeats the purpose of a thrift store full of DONATED items. I will be thrifting at Salvation Army from now on. The greed of the high ups in this organization grosses me out.
Super expensive for 4 hands stuff, super unfriendly if you buy breakables or big stuff, nobody help! Really worse than ever! Treat u like thieves on your way out!
Very expensive, very little children clothing. Quite disappointing in pricing, some items almost same price as store. I thought this store was to help people
Granted this store has a lot of items to compare to other Goodwill store but it has also the most expensive products labelling among the rest of Goodwill store. 1 branded pair of running shoes for $40,1 branded shirt for $20, wooo.this store is completely ridiculously overprice. They price the product base on brand not by the quality and how much life left on the product (clothing, shoes).
Better shop to winners with the same price range and you know its brand new.
Way over priced. Can get new clothes with those prices. Shoes & boots are worth it. Need more smiles esp the front door greeting ppl. Oh yeah they watch for shoplifting & u have to show ur receipt like a shakedown at the door. Meh.
Yesterday I scored a nice little oil painting for $6.50. This outlet always has a good selection of artwork and decor - the merchandise is well displayed and of course the prices are great. Every week a different price tag colour is discounted by 50%- this week it is blue.
Big, clean, lots of selection. Lots of parking. The various sections (men's, women's, children's, etc) should be marked better so that it's easier to get to the one you want.
Wish they would stop writing in the clothes and fabric items with a sharpie. I am all for supporting places like this, but what’s the point? Are you having problems with returns? Are you having problem with theft? There are way better ways to deal with whatever problem you are having instead of ruining your own merchandise. It is my fault for not checking the clothes 100% before buying and didn’t notice until I started doing laundry. Feel completely ripped off as the sharpie is all hidden in inconspicuous spots and places that are easily missed when looking at the clothes in store. Won’t buy from this location until their policy changes.
My first visit was great nice selection of clothing and lots of decor for your place very friendly staff and a good selection of deals on everything will definitely go back
Absolutely reasonable price for everything. Good collection of electronics including speakers, AV receivers and Blue ray players and most of them come with remote control unit and tagged as "Tested and Working" for peace of mind.
Lots too choose from. If customers would be a little more thoughtful and put things back the store would stay tidy. These stores do help people but price for donated stuff is way too pricey. If you want too donate too a great caring store.salvation army! They will help a family even if you dont have money.
Always bright and clean. I really enjoy the 50% off a certain colour sticker lots of the time I show up. Staff is friendly and helpful and there is a large selection of goodies.
Significantly more clean and organized than the previous location. Lots of new inventory comes in each time I have visited. A bit disappointed they are charging premium prices on records but I guess its going to charity so you can't complain that much.
An absolute DISASTER zone. They would sell a lot more if they kept the shelves tidy but everything is so precarious - plates and cups and glasses and everything stacked on each other. It is very frustrating and annoying. I feel like if I grab one thing, the entire shelf will come down.
The prices are also ridiculous, especially for clothing. $9 for a pair of leggings from Walmart. $17 for a vest from Joe, and so on. They also price salt and pepper shakers individually. Why? Curtain sets as well. Key word being SETS.
Also, please stop writing with felt marker on things, especially fabric items (wallets, purses). It's permanent!
My first time in their new location. The store shelves were messy and overcrowded. The prices were much higher than expected and 2 same items had 2 different prices. The furniture was stacked and hard to get around in that area. Personally I was not impressed.
