If you're looking for hard to find electronic parts this is where you need to go in Edmonton!

Also great for all your low voltage suppliers and tools.

Pretty much the only place in Edmonton for electronic parts but their service is still top notch!

Decent selection for hobby electronics, sure stuff costs a little more but at least you’re not waiting for some slow container ship to cross the ocean just to save $3 on a switch or $20 on an Arduino board.

Would love to see a wider selection of terminals/connectors (JST-*, Molex, DuPont, etc) but that’s just me.

Do you solder? Do your solder joints leave much to be desired? This place carries every MG Chem and Weller soldering product you’ve ever seen on YouTube and thought, “Hey, why isn’t it that easy when I solder stuff? ” — and the counter staff can help you pick out solder/flux/tips/paste/wire/etc appropriate for any project, big or small.

But it’s still up to you to develop those soldering skills… “It’s a soldering iron, not a paintbrush, Dave! ”

Everything you need when you are a service technician. After 20 years of use my muti meter leads were in need of replacement. I looked at a few different options at a few stores. Some offering leads for as little as $10. After speaking to the counter staff they recommended using the fluke brand as a replacement. Not cheap, but a quality product. They were $40.
I did purchase the Fluke leads and very pleased with the product quality and hand feel.

Friendly staff and a good supply of things (I came in for arduino stuff)
I explained what I was doing and the staff that helped me wasn’t quite sure (neither am I haha) but put in a good amount of effort to understand and help me and I appreciate that

They have great selection of junction box sizes on the shelf, I found the perfectly sized one for my application as well as the toggle switches I needed. Nice to hold items in your hand to visualize before you buy. Not sure if I can add a picture to this review, but a great value for the finished product.

Amazing.
This is the place I've been in search of forever. Will replace my online retailer needs for sure. Because people with knowledge in a store are dynamically better than the interwebs.

If you absolutely can't wait to find something. This is the place may help you out with basic electronics needs, but be prepared to pay for it. Found that what I thought was basic electronics connectors (dupont leads) were not available. Found prices on some items crazy.

Always have what I’m looking for, but sales staff always seem to have better things to do then help out.

We submitted a quote that was required asap, we never got a email confirming they recieved it or a phone call to confirm. This was time sensitive. I wouldnt waste my time with this company.

Have Most everything I need. Just a few gripes. The service is painfully slow. Not sure if it was just the day I was in but they didn't process anything with a computer. I had to wait in line while they processed every order in front of me with pen and paper. Also they don/t have any baskets so while I am waiting in line, I am standing there holding approximately 50 audio connectors in my arms. All in all a good company to deal with, Just a few things they can change to improve their customer experience.

They usually have what I need.good place to find things. Unfortunately, they need to improve the counter service. You can wait for 15 minutes to pay for a cash and carry item from the front.all the while they are dealing with someone buying a $3.00 switch. They really need to figure out how to move sales faster, maybe get another Visa Machine or train more staff to use the Visa machine. Extremely slow at counter sales.if they can fix that issue, what a great place to shop.

Front counter staff is very helpful. Usually have what I need. Sure you might be able to find things cheaper but the service and support I get is worth every penny. Thanks

Out of 2 places in YEG still selling electronic components (MRO being their competitor) I place EC above MRO. Still, they deal in wholesale for most of their business but if they wanted the hobbyists to order here isntead of digikey (cheaper x 2,3,4,5x to eBay (WAYYYYY CHEAPER) They need to
// List prices on the shelf (Heat-shrink tubing but really ALLLL parts) its CHEAP to do that and ends up in up to 7-20% more sales I found out in Economics 202 class in Uni)
// Ensure there is more than 1 employee able to help cause they are busy and if one person goes off to do something else while you look at more items, then you come back your either screwing over the next guy + the new guy forgets everything (I forgot my battery boxes, project boxes and other items because of this)
// Place the more common items on the shelf or have customer catalogs. We would buy A LOT more if we knew what you had! Sometimes we buy for future projects instead of making 100 trips!
// The Arduino Uno rev 3 beginners set I bought had the wrong parts, also the extra parts I bought are 10-25x cheaper on ebay you just dont get the packaging, but you do get a data sheet. NO DATA SHEET FOR ITEMS SERIOUSLY?

It seemed like acouple guys were stoned (nothing against that they were just forgetful and slow and 1 even forgot about me entirely and went to go do something else until the other guy went to find him at which point he didn't even come back, leading me to forget parts, even though he wasn't on break)

Will be buying online unless I need something and am in the area. Wont be spending 100$ again.
