Emerald Garden

Any time we’re looking to grab some Chinese food, we always go here. It’s one of the better places in Calgary. It’s a bit of a hidden gem as so many people have probably driven by it without knowing. Convenient to get to right off 16th ave by Sait. We’ve taken out and dined in and have always have exceptional service and quality of food!

The food doesn't have much flavor. I like the jellyfish shredded chicken, Beijing roast duck, fried chicken, and the Typhoon Shelter Pork Chop. It tastes like eating at home.

Will visit again

I had ordered something from Skip and there was a mistake with my order. They actually cared and delivered the proper food straight to my door, no questions asked. It was fast delivery and freshly made. I really appreciated that. I will order from there again.

I got terrible food poisoning from this place the one and only time I tried food from here, they likely served food that was a day old. I got take out and tasted something off about the shrimp (I got their Szechuan noodles).

We have visited this restaurant a number of times. Have never been disappointed with the food quality. I consider this restaurant being one of the top Cantonese style restaurant in Calgary

Great food - exceeded expectations. I ordered a number of lunch options: pan-fried dumplings, noodles, and green beans with garlic sauce. First bites of all dishes brought a smile to my face.

Classic food done very well and super friendly staff. I was super impressed by the efficient handling considering how busy.they were with take out skip etc. Excellent dumplings btw. Everything was a great experience.

Ordered the Dinner for 6, with Singapore noodles and Mongolian beef as an add on. Every dish was excellent and made fresh. We really appreciated that they were able to exclude green peppers as it is an allergy for 2 family members. This is our second time ordering takeout and have been happy with the quality and portions. Definitely recommend them for delicious Chinese meals and look forward to trying more dishes in the future.

A very busy restaurant so reservations are definitely recommended. They offer authentic Chinese food here and the owners are fairly well known in the community. They've opened restaurants in the SW and SW Calgary before, and have literally gathered a following of supporters in the city, so dinner times (especially weekends) are almost always packed. We always try to book a table before we go.
Food is great and the owners are great people. Staff are friendly and service is quick, as you would want from any good Chinese restaurants.
Definitely one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants in Calgary for sure!

I went to Emerald Garden a couple of times for dinners with family and friends. Sichuan boiled beef is highly recommended to those spicy lovers. It is a unique taste of spicy food. Bean curd rolls with mushrooms is a great dish too.

The food is always consistently good as is the service! Restaurant is a little dated but it doesn't affect how great the food is.

We had Dine In here and it was awesome! The food was great, the service was great, the whole experience was awesome. Would 110% go back!

Highly recommend trying this place. We've been getting take out from here over last couple of years, ts consistently really good. Tonight we dinned in, and it was the best chinese I've ever had. It was hot, and beyond fresh. Will definitely be going back to dine in.

Excellent Chinese restaurant with tasty food. The sticky stuffed duck was really good, but it needed a day of pre-ordering. Going as a group is recommended as one can experience the different dishes they offer. The other must try dish was the crab steamed rice it was really flavorful. If you are into sweet and sour pork, it was executed well with right balance of sweetness and sour, along with crunchy meat, the way sweet and sour meant to be. The fried garlic and pepper eggplant (aka typhoon shelter style eggplant) is not something people know about but if you are into spicy good, give it a go.
Parking is a concern at that restaurant so one needs to either go early (around 5pm) or go a bit later.

This place has always been a great go to for our work wrap ups the food is awesome and service staff are great also. I absolutely recommend giving them a try.
