Fantastic facility and fantastic instructors. If you're looking for first aid or any of the other certs they have to offer here it is definitely worth it to get them here.

Was here for a H2S Alive training course. Door won’t open until 7: 30 AM, so stay in your car if you get here early. It says the course will start at 8 o’clock sharp, but it won’t start until everyone is here. Allan is a great instructor. He is well-prepared and respectful to everyone. The building is clean and organized, free coffee and tea served at lunchroom. The only thing I didn’t like that much was it is too far in the SE, which is not convenient compared to their previous NE location.

The H2S Alive course designed by these guys is just a money grab. Taught by individuals who obviously haven't been out in the field for a long time. No SABA use, no longer discussing the use of H2S tubes. If you actually want to learn something about operating safely in an H2S environment, contact me. I am someone who actually knows what goes on in the oilpatch, and can teach you how to use an SABA properly.

If I could give a zero star rating I would, the fact that there is no after business hours tech support line is quite ridiculous. I'm stuck on the second last module for online training and the next page will not load, I have tried on multiple different browsers and servers to no avail. Seems like a pretty big waste of money for an online course that you cant get any support for.

DISAPPOINTING! I can not express how disappointed I am with this place. I have used their training services on multiple occasions and found them to be average, nothing great. Then I got some staff online training which they completed. When we requested certificates we were told they were having issues with their system and to try back later. When we tried back later we were told that there was no record of the completed course. Staff was indifferent and couldn’t care less, and seemed generally disinterested in helping. Will not use this organization again and encourage anyone considering them to look elsewhere.

Big location, big clean and up to date bathrooms, spacious coffee/break area. Open and direct availability to reception. Classroom oversized. Id be very happy and comfortable going back to this place to do another ticket.
Number 23 bus stops directly across street and very easy access to both along with lunch and snack possibilities also across the street. Good location!

I have been working in the oilfield for many years, I have worked around the highest H2S ever produced and I am a H2S Alive instructor. So, I have gone through several revisions of the H2S Alive program and met several coordinators from PITS, Enform & ESC. It is sad that I have to voice this review through my friends account, because ESC made it very clear we can not criticize them without suffering serious consequences.
I would like to point out several errors in the newest H2S Alive (18.1) program, it should be noted that there are too many to list here.
1. ESC claims they have “…deep oil and gas expertise…” how is this possible when most of the coordinators have never worked a day in the oilfield. They really need coordinate with those who actively are working in the field.
2. The SDS Section 4 Inhalation; “…. Immediately begin artificial respiration. ” This shows they are not only out of touch with the oil and gas industry but out of touch with the current protocols for First Aid in Canada. Artificial respiration is no longer taught to standard first aiders anymore. Protocol is “No signs of life, begin CPR” and this is what is should say in our books.
3. Donning SCBA, in the instructor guide, “Preferred method in class is the jacket style. ” so the students do not hurt themselves. It must be hard sitting behind a computer all day everyday and not know what it is like to have some upper body strength. If you don a SCBA the jacket method and have no control you can just as easily hurt yourself, others and or the equipment. Students should be encouraged to don a SCBA according to manufacturer instructions which includes either method. Students should be allowed to use the method that they are most comfortably using. (Please note either method can cause injuries if not done with control).
4. The LEL sensor in the Bump Test video is not working. This is the only sensor that must be legally Bump Tested. If Instructors are caught using equipment that was not functional, they would be suspended, but ESC uses a video with non functional equipment.
5. Step 6 First Aid …” unzip the coveralls to remove trapped gas. ” If this is true, then as a rescuer I am not able to rescue the casualty and begin first aid without ensuring that I do not have trapped gas in my coveralls. So therefore, we should be teaching rescuers to unzip their coveralls first before removing protective gear to begin resuscitation of casualty. I personally have worked in some of the highest concentrations in Western Canada, and internationally. I have never suffered ill effects by removing my mask in a safe area and not unzipping coveralls to remove trapped gas.
This information is provided as some points that need to be corrected in the current H2S Alive program to ensure students are getting the most current, correct and relevant information to ensure their safety. I believe that is in all of our best interest.

Notice the reply form ESC, they clearly did not read the review. Because it states that is not Joleen providing the review, but a H2S Alive instructor. The H2S Alive instructor feels ESC in nothing more than a bully, otherwise they could use their account.

It would seem that ESC is more interested in finding who I am, so they can suspend me from teaching H2S Alive. ESC does not seem interested in correcting the errors is their error filled H2S Alive course, thus making it the worst/dangerous H2S course in the industry. So sad: (

Joleen, you are so right, these people know nothing about the oil and gas industry and even less about training people.

Instructors genrally knowledgeable and pleasant. Unfortunately, some seem to need "reminding" that soapboxing their personal unfounded/archaic/pseuoscientific/sexist/etc.beliefs in the workplace is - at best - unprofessional
