Escape Campervans

We (3 friends) had an amazing 14days trip with the "Big Sur". We had a Rooftop tent where easy 2 large people fit in (190cm), in cold nights we even fit altogether on the huge bed inside the Camper. We slept very well. It's bigger then we thought before, we missed nothing. It was good to drive, we loved that it was not so big like a RV. Everything was fantastic. Tory and Aaron did a great job they always were reachable. It was an amazing service. We can definitely advise it to you. Thank you guys!

The van itself was good. It's been loved a little rough but overall I was happy with the performance. This probably isn't unique to Escape but these guys really nickle and dime every little thing. Like, here's a van rental for $$. "oh you want to use it? " That's $$$$. I would have given less stars except that the manager Aaron was really awesome. He was incredibly helpful, and knowledgeable. He really went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. I was really pleased with the service we received. Thanks Aaron!

We would absolutely recommend Escape Campervans. They are by far the easiest and friendliest vehicle hire company to deal with that we have come across. Aaron at the Calgary office was very helpful and went out of his way to make picking up the van easy for us. This was a great way to explore the mountains and avoid the crazy hotel prices. We paid $360 for 3 nights including extra insurance, then an additional $44 for mileage overage (keep in mind this is the shoulder season price). It also lets you park super early to see those sought after spots, because you just get there early and sleep!

The van is very easy to drive and super simple. It is extremely comfortable and clean. The kitchen in the back is also a really convenient and nice touch, super easy to make a quick meal or coffee/tea.

The customer service in the Calgary location is also excellent! They are both very friendly and knowledgeable. We went directly to the store as the toll free customer service was much less friendly, and I would recommend trying to do the same.

It is also good to note that it’s not insulated so it gets pretty cold (and the heater option requires a plug-in which you won’t find at most campsites) so dress warm if it’s cold. Also there are only 12-V charging ports so bring adapters!

Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely recommend it:)

As we drove through the beautiful mountains of Canada, the campervan was the perfect companion. It was great to have the flexibility to drive the van as a mode of transportation, as well as have our "home" with us wherever we went. Fantastic customer service! Aaron checked me in and out and he was kind, courteous, knowledgeable, efficient and very professional. He fully lined me out on the van, and also gave me local info on the coolest places to go. He thought of everything. It was such a pleasant experience!

We had an incredible 18 day trip with the van from Calgary and dropping it off in Vancouver. Aaron was very helpful and had loads of tips for our trip. We rented the van with the roof top tent for our 6&8 year old kids. They absolutely loved it.

Second time we are renting with Escape campervan. Really great van and a special thank you to Aaron for the great customer service! I would suggest adding a colander to the kitchen kit though! Aaron was super helpful at the pick-up and didn’t miss one helpful detail or tip about the van and what to see on our trip. He hooked us up with an impeccable, hand-painted van that positively stood out when touring through Jasper and Banff. Would absolutely recommend anyone to rent from here as it by far offers the best value for money compared to its competitors. Furthermore, the customer service provided by Aaron was super pleasant. We had a great rental experience at Escape Campervan Calgary! Aaron was helpful and communicated well. Our family of four enjoyed the Big Sur model: comfortable seating, big windows, smooth ride, practical set up. We just returned from our second Escape Campervan vacation and we were very impressed by the Calgary location. The van and rental facilities were extremely clean, and Aaron was eager to answer questions and support us throughout our trip. Banff and Jasper are a wonderful place for a campervan vacation. There is so much to do, and the van just makes the time more enjoyable by having everything with you wherever you go. Our trip was easy because we booked our campsites ahead. Do this as soon as possible so that your vacation time is stress free and you can spend all of your time enjoying the outdoors!

I got a big sur for our first road trip and camping trip. The booking was easy including the add on. They respond promptly to the email. Aaron got the van ready before 10am. The pick up and drop off were very smooth. We had no problem at all. Would definitely recommend it:)

Super van super service! Small enough to allow us to reach all of the remote wonderful places and campsites, but big enough for 5 adults to fit (with the roof pop-up) - plus adding a little tent as part of the package allowed us to spread out when we wanted. Thanks Aaron for your friendly and helpful service. Definitely recommend if you want to explore the true Canadian wilderness.

We just took our second trip with Escape Campervans. It was great! Aaron was so helpful and enthusiastic. You could tell he loves what he does and really wants you to have a great trip. We had no issues while on our week long trip but I felt that if we did have any issues, they would’ve been dealt with quickly and painlessly. We always recommend Escape Campervans to our friends and we will definitely use them again in the future!

Beware: hidden $700 one-way fee on the 3rd page of the booking process! I booked flights for a trip between Calgary-Vancouver based on Escape's quoted "Total" price, but then got slammed with the fee when I pushed on the final page of the booking. Avoid this horrible sales tactic!

We took a campervan to Banff/Jasper for 5 days and had a great time! The van was large enough to sleep comfortably but small enough to park anywhere. Aaron was fantastic with the entire rental process and even gave us some tips for staying in the park. I don't think we would have gotten the hospitality with any other van service!

Very uncomplicated, competent camper rental. We spent a great time in Canada.
The camper equipment was good - what we missed was a tarp for a rain roof and a mosquito net. But you can get both in each garden center ;-).
Everything worked fine, super nice people in the rentaloffice and only to be recommended. We will take an Escaper again for our next Canada-trip.

Campinginformation: You can find space at the smaller campgrounds (without electricity and running water) even in high season without reservation - but you have to be there in the morning. We only had one reservation for our three weeks most of the time around the icefield parkway.

Great quiet places:
- Mount Kerkeslin Campground near Jasper
- Rampart Creek (here reservation makes sense, but we had luck to find a place without one!)
- Golden Eco Adventure Ranch (reserve!)
-Dry Gulch, Radium Hot Springs
-Marble Canyon Campground near Banff

We took a van from Calgary to Vancouver and back. We absolutely loved traveling by van and Escape Campervans made the trip so fun. Aaron from the Calgary depot was great, highly communicative and accommodating. He had our van ready before expected which was a great way to start our trip. We will definitely be using this company for future travels!

Hello there Escape Campervan friends,

We wanted to share our experience with Escape Campervans.

It was just amazing, beautiful, extraordinary! We loved it! We are not joking believe me.

So first of all it's our first time in Canada and we went there for 3 full weeks. We started with Montreal, Toronto, than Calgary and finally Vancouver. Our stop in Calgary - Banff was only for 4 full days.

So we arrived 2nd July in Calgary and went directly to pick up our Van.

We were welcome by Aaron. He was so friendly, heartfull and kind. He explained everything to us. We did all the paperwork and he gave us everything that we could use to sleep and even let us take more stuff that were there from other previous customers that let there for the next tourists. He showed us how everything worked and we were ready to go.

We visit Banff, went to a grocery store to buy some stuff for the van and went to a Hot spring. The first night was special because it was the first time camping in a van in a national park. We woke up all the time early to visit the Lake Louise and do some hiking. We did a lot of stuff like Lake Morraine, Lake Minnewanka, Lac Vermillon, Johnston Canyon, Lake Peyto, Lake Bow and do Jasper also. It was sunny, rainy, cold, very cold at night. We suffered a little bit but the experience was worth it.

We had the Big Sur, very colorfull, space for 5 people, with a top sleeper.

Everything went well we hadn't any problems. We were sad to give it back.

Hope to book another journey with Escape Campervans and to show that to my friends and family.

Such a fantastic adventure, I wouldn't have seen and explored as much as I did if it wasn't for the van. Great set up, well equipped and there wasn't anything missing. I would definitely recommend Escape Campervans.

Excellent customer service provided by Aaron of the Calgary branch, so helpful and available throughout our trip. The van was clean and well equipped, and very comfy for both travelling and sleeping. We regretted not having a gazebo as we had a few days of rain. Drop off in Vancouver was super simple too.

Excellent customer service. We were already big Escape fans but our experience at the new Calgary depot was by far the best we have had. Friendly staff, efficient turnaround and of course awesome camper vans. Thank you Aaron for having our van ready early and taking such good care of us.

Highly recommend Escape! Awesome customer service - answered all of our questions and gave great recommendations/tips on what to do/where to go etc. The Big Sur van was top notch too - very clean and user friendly. There were four of us and we rented out the sleeper tent on top. It worked out great - we weren’t too on top of each other:) We had a stopped up sink, which we don’t think was our fault and they really took care of it and us at the end of our trip. Aaron and the rest of the crew did an awesome job making it an incredible experience!

Aaron at escape campervans was awesome, I will come back to this company just for his customer service quality. They have a very well thought out van infrastructure. The housekeeping of the car was also top notch. Overall customer experience, road support, and hygiene of the vehicle was speckless. I have no complaints.

Nous avons fait un excellent voyage dans les rocheuses avec un « Big Sure » loué à Calgary. La caravan est facile à conduire et à stationner. Tout l’équipement est neuf ou très peu utilisé. Les gens au centre de location sont gentils et attentionnés.

My boyfriend and I had a great experience with Escape Campervans out of the Calgary office. We worked directly with Aaron, the store manager, who was knowledgeable, welcoming, and accommodating. We drove the campervan from Calgary up to Jasper National Park and back and we had no problems with the van. It was a comfortable ride, and we would do it again. Great service!

We rented a van for 12 days. Reservation and customer service were smooth and easy. Changes were made with ease. Picking up takes a few minutes to review the van details, but was done professionally and courteously by Aaron. We were offered food items left by previous campers and extra propane bottles, also left. Never ran out. Three of us (2 adults and a 12 year old) were comfortable all through our trip. The van was well equipped and kept us warm and dry as we explored Banff, Jasper, Edmonton, Drumheller and Calgary. We cooked almost all of our meals and slept 3 in the bed with lots of room. We could have used an extra blanket, as one of us had a habit of rolling over and taking the cozy duvet with him ;). This is a great way to “camp” while staying dry and without the put up and take down of a tent. We had a fantastic time and would recommend Escape to anyone nimble enough to climb in and out!

We enjoyed our Indie for 10 days on the Ice Fields Parkway, Highway 99 and the Sea To Sky highway, camping at Banff, Jasper, Golden and Whistler. The layout of the camper is brilliant; we still have a hard time believing how spacious it is for two people to sleep and cook - and hangout during the occasional drizzle. The F150 with its big V8 was rock solid, and handled all the roads flawlessly. I would recommend the configuration for anyone who wants a very flexible arrangement and plans to camp where there is at least electricity.

The Indie is feature rich, which means two things. First, pay attention and learn how everything works before you take off, because it's complex. Second, all those feature come from gadgets that draw power, so you need to - let me repeat that - you NEED to either hook up every night or do some active power management which the folks at Escape Campervan should be able to explain to you.

We did have a problem with our unit. Those things happen - the test of a vendor is what they do about it. Escape's roadside service unit was very responsive (shout out to Danielle!). And when we returned the unit at Vancouver, the manager wanted to sit us down and understand everything (shout out to Chris!). They are sincere about wanting to make everyone's experience great. We will be using Escape again.

Amazing experience with escape Campervans. The best quality- price deal you can find for your holidays in the Rocky Mountains.

Aaron was extremely helpful and friendly and was very inquisitive about our trip when we returned. My friend and I rented one of his vans May 24 - June 2 of this year and went to Banff and Jasper National Parks. The day that I flew in, Aaron was kind enough to wait for me for over an hour past closing hours so I could add my name to the driver list. When we returned he wanted to know everything about the trip so he could provide information to future customers. And to top it all off, he drove my friend and I to the airport. I highly recommend Aaron's services to anyone because he is extremely helpful and only wants his customers to have a wonderful time. Sorry it took so long for the review Aaron, don't think I forgot about you!

We are very happy with the service! Aaron was there to greet us and give us lots of tips on the road as well as recommendations on what extras to add and which ones to drop.
The RV was beautifully painted (dusky) and it could not have been any better.

Great campervans to travel around Banff and Jasper National Parks. Everything you need, and if you need more stuff (chairs, table etc) it's not too expensive too add them.

We rented an Escape Camper van at the Calgary location to tour around the Canadian Rockies. We had an amazing time and renting a camper van, especially through Escape Campervan was a great idea that made our trip more enjoyable. The vans are new, clean, well equipped with all that is needed and affordable. They drive very well and are attractively designed. The front desk staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, has tons of information and recommendations, so please follow their suggestions. We did not have the need to contact them while on the trip as everything worked just fine. Please be aware of the pick up and drop off times - it is just like a hotel (11am checkout). Please pay attention on the mileage so you might easily exceed the daily limits. Also, milage is calculated in kilometers in Canada. Get a full insurance as there are lots of amateur RV drivers around who don’t know what they are doing. All in all we are glad we chose Escape Campervans and it made out trip more enjoyable.

The welcoming team was very nice to us and the van is very convenient for our trip (2 people) to Banff and Jasper natural parks. A very nice way to discover Canada!

Escape is different than other van and RV rental companies.

It’s everything you’re looking for— comfortable and reliable vans that offer a bed, a stove, a fridge and a sink — all that a fairly affordable price. But it’s more. Each one of their vans is hand painted by a local artist, hand picked by the employees themselves based on their own preferred esthetics. Aaron, the manager of the new Calgary branch, drove us to the airport in his own personal vehicle at the end of our trip. Absolute legend.

It wasn’t my first time using Escape, and it won’t be my last.
