One of the best places to go. Great food, the staff are friendly and helpful. Clean and a great diner atmosphere. It's worth driving from Calgary to get a bite to eat and a dessert.
. Not what it once was.it is OK. Previously owned by very seasoned food industry people. Last owner was a world class pastry chef.big shoes to fill! Evelyn was Evelyn.one of the most amicable, talented, and lovely people I have ever met.very big shoes to fill!
Food is super fresh and delicious at a decent price. It's very filling. It is a good place to stop for a bite to eat. The retro vibe of the dinner is awesome. And the staff is impeccably friendly. For those that don't know, this is the diner in the first episode of the last of us.
This is one of my most beloved hometown places. I returned to town after a few years away at university and wanted to bring my partner to this place. The food (as usual) was amazing. However, I couldn't help but feel like the servers were incredibly judgemental and cold. Perhaps they were extremely busy, but they were very short with us and it felt like we were annoying to them.
I'll definitely return, but this experience definitely dampened some otherwise warm memories.
It's very inaccessible for wheelchair users and plus size people now that they have added a tiny middle two person booth row.
Parking in downtown High River is horrible. This is not the fault of Memory Lane, it's just really tough to find a close place to park.
Service was friendly and super helpful, food and drinks were all perfect! The place was busy but barely any wait to sit or for our food. Couldn't find a flaw if I tried!
Really like the decor. I had an icecream cone, the flavour was picnic in the park. It tasted like fresh strawberries and cream. My sons gf had a milkshake and enjoyed it very much as well. Next time will grab lunch here as well.
Two persons at table 10 waited 20 minutes for server January 2,2023. Our wait for plaaced order equally as long. Had to ask another server to check. Croissant over toasted and falling apart as I ate it, besides being cold. My mate had similar experience with Ruben sandwich-over toasted and cold. Ice cream cone order taken by server was obvious she was not familiar with product. Seriously that cone was so pathetic in appearance- it looked like ice cream was scooped out in pieces with a dinner spoon. Next visit to High River I will choose different location- my first and last visit.
We pulled off the highway to grab gas and decided to find a place to go eat, Evelyn's was on Google. Who doesn't love a cute diner? ! We popped in.and we were Wowed! It's so vintage, antique-y and exciting! There is a train that runs around the restaurant ceiling and my 2 year old daughter just loved it. A juke box, and individual mini juke boxes at each table, that work! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, the food was AMAZING! Homemade and delicious. We will definitely be back!
Not bad but far from the hype seen in some of these reviews. The chicken noodle soup was a bit lacking, the Reuben the same. The pie is overpriced for the size of slice but was fairly good. Service was slow and not particularly attentive.
Disappointed today. Usually good food and good service. Ordered quiche and French onion soup. Unfortunately, the quiche was dry, hard, salty, and they admitted it was not fresh (yesterday's leftovers). The French onion soup was a bit of an oil slick and had no cheese - French onion soup with no cheese? Couldn't finish my meal. Spouse ordered a sandwich with French onion soup; sandwich was good, didn't finish the soup. Perhaps we'll try again another time.
Was disappointed They where out of quiche. First time in with new owner. The food is not quite the same. Not as good sorry had to say that. Broccoli salad tasted vinigery. Didn't taste like the creamy sweet Greek yogurt. My sandwich was a bit dry. I couldn't get the waitresses attention so I just ate it. Portions are still really good. Floor cleanliness is not as good. Dirt building around edges of bench seats. But we will be back, need to try the quiche hope it's the same!
Great staff, and delicious, healthy food. Bread pudding was delicious and Morgan our server was terrific. Highly recommend & worth the drive from Calgary
