Slow service and can not find items I need they stop selling peater tape for drapes waste of my time going to fabric prices have gone up 3 to4 times the reg price I will never go back to fabric land
I wasn't to pleased this time picking up my multi colored broadcloth. The associate who cut ️ my broadcloth took about 15 minutes to cut pieces of cloth, very annoying. It appeared this young man had to be involved in everyone's discussions, if you're going to socialize, do it on your own time, being friendly is a given but not with everyone in the joint.
Love the little east Indian lady helping.she gave me more ideas and help me stay within my budget. I will return just to see her. Wish I remember her name. Thanks so much.
My favorite location! So much selection, great stock, so organized, friendly and knowledgeable service. It's an adventure every time I go. I always enjoy my time here.
Worst costumer service I've experienced. The sale associates talk down to you and couldn't find the time of day to help you out. I mentioned this to the manager and they informed me "if I don't like the way they work that I can go somewhere else" Where is customer service these days. Avoid this location at all costs!
Kori and kusum were so helpful and friendly! They both arr amazing! Your prices are great too! Would definately recommend.thanks so much for your help!
Great store has everything a sewing place needs just walking there is horrible with security watching and giving evil eyes just last time it seemed like security kept meeting people in the washroom at the fabric land entrance seemed pretty strange
One of the terrible customer service I have ever encountered. We gave them a visit with my wife and one child and asked for help they said item should be somewhere in that area and after spending 45 minutes couldn’t locate the item and asked for help but they said we are too busy. And then two old lady’s came running after my daughter and said you have to take your child out of store and one b.said to my wife you guys haven’t bought even a single dollar item and what if your child does this and that to “my” store will you pay for that and both of those two were so arrogant and saying stuffs as they were own this store. Will never go to that store ever and won’t even recommend going there. I have no option to give them zero or minus in reviews so I still have to give one even though they don’t deserve this.
I visited this story today with my elderly father today very excited to find fabric for a project together. First the store was badly organized. We wondered aimlessly in search of the material we needed. Not sure if it was due to COVID, but no one offered to help us. Finally we found the correct area and selected our fabric to purchase. Upon going to the cutting table, one very abrupt lady snapped at my father for standing in the wrong place. So he backed up with the big spool of fabric and tried to figure out where we were supposed to stand. There was no one even near us and we were not standing too close to anyone. Someone then walked over and the lady directed her to help us. She was friendly at first, but then started speak very abruptly and rudely. I also noticed she kept correcting us, that we couldn't stand beside the table, even though others getting fabric cut were standing on or over the table and touching it! I kept thinking, why do we have to back up!? ! Got our fabric and just wanted to pay and leave. Final encounter was the cashier. Another very terse, unfriendly, demeanor. Just left the store feeling extremely unwelcome and could only describe as a bad experience.
I am afraid they are very bad with the pricing. There were several signs that had Mountain Fleece at $11/ meter. I picked up 2.5 M and they charged me $22/M. I told the lady the signs say $11/M and she told me that the price only applies to a person with a membership. The membership costs the same as the discount. The signs do not say members only pricing.
Not going to hate on the whole entirety of it but I went in looking for a certain fabric and upon gazing around the whole outer selection, I decided to ask for help. As I walked up to the lady working there, she sorta glanced at me and then looked down at the fabric she was holding. I was very polite and apologized for interrupting whatever she was doing and then proceeded to ask about said fabric. Her response was "uhh i don't know. Maybe look in the upholstery section" and then with a sluggish response, pointed in a willy nilly direction. I've never been to fabric land long enough to know where everything is. So instead of asking her to re-point, I went my own way. She then later found me at another point in the store and I said "sorry I'm not sure where that is" and she looked over to her left and said "it's right here". Great. As I skimmed the area for said fabric, I had noticed another customer asked for her help and her attitude and vibe was completely different. She walked the person to an area and even tried helping find what he was looking for. At this point I was a little confused. What made me so different from the other person that I could not receive the same type of customer service. I know everyone has off days. I've 100% been there. But I was polite and courtesy to her, I would've assumed I could at least get it back. Anyways if someone would've helped me better, I would've left a better review. If you're unfamiliar with this place, be prepared. I'm sure all the other staff are great and more helpful.
I went to the store and stood in line by myself, my two aunts were in front of me in the line. After waiting for 40 min, the lady at the door came up to me and told me that since I'm with my aunts, I'm not allowed in because its only 2 people at 1 time, I said that's fine since I was by myself anyways. She said no, she saw me communicating with the 2 ladies in front of me so I'm not allowed to go in with them, this was fine to me, assuming I would go in by myself when someone else came out of the store. The lady said no, this cant happen unless your two aunts come out or I go back at the end of the line and wait again. I told her I've been waiting for 40mins and I'm coming in by myself. The manager then came, I don't remember her name but she has short dark hair, came to me and said yes, i must either go back at the end of the line and wait again, or i must wait until my aunts come out. I told her I was waiting by myself and not shopping in the store with them anyways, I've been waiting for 40 minutes. I asked her why i wasn't able to go in if the next person in the store leaves, why specifically my aunts had to leavefor me to go in, when I waited by myself and am shopping by myself. The manger was extremely rude, the customers behind me were appalled. I'm so in shock this is how they talk to customers, especially a manager. The "rule" made absolute no sense whatsoever, nor was there any sign on the door. I specifically told the manager, I will no longer be shopping at Fabricland and that they've lost a customer. The manager replied "That's fine, we lost customers everyday, it doesn't do anything to me. " I was in so much shock when she said that. I will NEVER come back into this store, or any Fabricland again.
Stepping into Fabric land took me back to my child hood. Fabric rolls as far as the eye can see in every color you could want. Including Halloween in January The selection was great, the staff seemed either exhausted from their day or just unfriendly. The lady that helped us cut the fabric right at a meter and it was cut at an angle on one end so we lost approx an inch of the fabric. Had it been crucial I prob would have been upset, however it was for my son's first sewing project/attempt.
Poor customer service, would have given big zero star if possible. The person at the entrance was argumentative, very rude and mean. We were there around 1pm today.

As a young fashion designer, I love going here to get the fabric I need for dresses. While the store is a little difficult to miniver through, it is always fun to try to find the fabric I need for projects. The staff are also super friendly, and the store in general is a great place to go:)
Walked into the store with a face shield, I have a medical condition, and I can't wear a face mask. They rudely told me to leave, and in the future to do my best to dissuade people from coming here. Would give no star if I could

This store has a varied selection of fabrics, but if you don't know exactly what you want or where it is, the store is difficult to shop. I'm not an avid seamstress, but when I get a pattern and it recommends a certain type of fabric, I want to follow that recommendation. If I go to this store, it's difficult to find any particular type of fabric, and staff members don't often know what I'm asking for. These two factors make the store difficult to shop, which is why I've been somewhat trying to avoid it when not fully necessary. Still, as the only place in the Edmonton area where you can get large purchases of fabric done instead of having to piece together bits, it remains the sole option for many projects.
Employees not very helpful and are impatient with beginners. Thankfully I found one employee who was willing to be patient and help me out but I would not go back to this location.

Extremely misleading sale signs around the store. Be aware so you don't overspend. Bought a fabric on a shelf that had a sale sign and it turns out that it was regular price.
Store is big ang pretty much carries everything a seamstress or tailor might need and some other more home stuff like curtains, but the price point is quite high (walmart would have cheaper curtains, for example). I primarily go there for the convenience of having a wide selection of threads and buttons and other sewing needs in one place
Poor customer service, would have given big fat zero star if possible. The person at the entrance was argumentative, kept cutting me off, without even listening. We were there around 5.35ish today.
Your one stop sewing shop. I've found this location to be clean and the staff to be very friendly and helpful. With covid procedures, they limit the number of people allowed by inside, so show up early or prepare for a wait.
Customer service today was not adequate. No smiles and everyone looking like they are waiting until the end of their shift. I'm working on a new project and needed help or ideas and I didn't end up buying everything needed so will probably have to go to another store to finish up to make my project. When I asked questions the staff would help but then leave right away before I could ask for the next step of my project. Whatever you are in life, be a good one. I'm sure you ladies are a wealth of knowledge. I could've left there very excited about my project and returned for more supplies.
I had a great experience at the Londonderry location on the 26th. I looked lost and an employee took the time to carefully explain all elements of the fabric I was looking for. Afterwards another employee carefully and thoughtfully helped with interfacing. Thank you!
I came in with less than 10 minutes until closing and I will still given super helpful and courteous service. Thanks to Delal for explaining my options and having patience with all my questions. I ended up getting just what I needed and on sale too!
Funny how the guys end up in these places holding the purse for missy while she shops.lol. I have always found the staff pretty good and even squeak a little humour in here and there.
Isk how I feel about fabric stores in general, as I feel like they are all a little crazy with the prices & I do find sometimes the staff can be kinda rude, Especially if your a novice (like me), but I do love the large selection of fabric & notions, They didn't have much in the way of quilting stuff when I went but that was a while ago so hopefully they do now,
They really know their stuff, and I can't say enough about how good they are at helping someone like me, who knows very little about stuff like fixing zippers. Good job Fabricland employees!
