Been to this location a few times this year and I try to avoid it. I asked for help (none was offered) and I felt like I was asking the lady to wash my car. I asked her to show me where a particular item was after she pointed "down there". The young person at the till was lovely but none of the staff I encountered on the floor gave me the impression they wanted to help customers. They avoided eye contact, seemed insulted when I asked if they worked there (no name tag), and were unhelpful when directly asked. They also didn't seem very knowledgeable about the products when asked what was in a periocular fabric. Will continue to avoid when possible.

Honestly I really despise having to go to fabric land. Most the workers are grouchy and unfriendly to people with children. I always dred having to go. Just never had a really good experience.

Multiple times I have been rung up wrong and had to correct the cashier. And basically between poor service and overpriced material.it makes for a bad day for sewers.

Great staff! I love coming here for all my fabric needs. Everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly. And amazing prices. Do yourself a favor and get their membership. Your first purchase discount alone will pay for it!

Came in to purchase fabric for my son's CTF class in grade 9.
Purchased 2 meters of fabric and some elastic to make a pair of pajamas. The cost was $44?
I thought clothes were supposed to be cheaper if you made them lol. I could've bought 4 pairs of pajamas at Walmart.
Also the pay system is so archaic. No way to look up membership, and if you don't have it, you lose out on any discount.
Please get with the times. No one likes to carry membership cards for every place they visit.

Picked up some fabric for my wife today. Great store, great products. However the staff member that cut the fabric was absolutely COVERED in dog hair. My wife spent half and hour trying to clean the new fabric I got her of the dog hair. This is unacceptable, clean yourself up before you go to work or when you get there before your shift starts. If you work in retail or customer service of any kind, hygiene is important and this shows a serious lack of it. I wouldn't complain over a few hairs, but this is rediculous, as if the woman was shedding a fur coat herself (all sheets are covered in it). People have alergies, and new fabric should not be needing a half hour of cleaning after purchase because a staff member was to lazy to start their shift in clean clothes. Its a tough talk to have with staff, I understand, but in this case it is highly recommended.

The service at the Fisher Rd Fabricland was excellent yesterday. Trina was pleasant and efficient and went out of her way to meet all my requests for cuts of fabric and wrap them neatly for transport. She waited patiently for me to come back from foraging for ribbon, and chatted about my projects. I will certainly look for her when I return to Fabricland. Thanks, Trina.

The ladies who work here are simply amazing. They know about fabric, where it is and what you want, as well as they know how to help by cutting my fabric and helping me through to the till.

Love the place. Most staff are knowledgeable if you have a sewing question. It's best to buy the yearly membership for $25 if you are buying alot, the deals are pretty good with the discounted price.

Selection of fabrics is just ok, they always seem out of the popular stuff. I have been a faithful customer however the new giant grid system totally sucks. You can’t find anything…neither can the employees. You end up looking for ever and like items are not always grouped together. Incredibly frustrating. With regards to customer service I have always found them very knowledgeable.

What an experience today, I went to this place with my daughter and her teacher to buy fabrics for her projects. Max a person who works there was very rude, she ruined our visit, she showed very poor costumer service skills. I believe places that offer good supplies need to invest in good training for their staff.

We go to this location solely because it is closer. I'm so sad to say we have never had a good experience. The majority of workers have always been very harsh and they seem to act like you shouldn't be asking them for help. The ladies on the till are very sweet, but the rest act like you are an inconvenience. The NE location are all so nice and wanting to help

I would have given 5 stars to the store but the fabric prices at Fabricland are quite steep for the nice prints.

This store has a complete disregard for people with DISABILITIES who cannot wear a “regular” mask. They won’t allow you in with a face shield, it has to be “real mask”, which apparently a CLOTH mask constitutes a “real mask”. Funny how my DOCTOR recommended a face shield as an option to wear so I’m still able to wear a mask and not have to argue with businesses about my LEGAL EXEMPTION to not even have to wear a mask at all. What an absolute joke of a business.

I’ve had really awesome customer service at this store. Sandy is always so patient with my myriads of questions and she’s upbeat and personable! Max and Rachel (I think that was her name) were also very helpful to me on my last visit. Seek these ladies out if you shop there.

The only thing about Fabricland is that some of the prices of their fabric is prohibitive, but that’s on the company, not the employees.

Well its disappointing how they had no patterns for curtains. And i didnt get much help. Point the finger where everthing is. Be nice to show me. Been a long timw since I sewed. When i was a member years ago, they were so helpful. May find another fabric store.

Since Covid started this store has been badly managed. Curbs side pickups is not optional! By the way please be aware you have to pay shipping express pay for curbs side pickup. Isn't the all purposes to order online curb side pickup and pickup for free instead? Top it off there pricing on there website and In-store are totally different, and will not match the difference as display on there website either. Don't let pricing online fool you! I'm pretty sure there is a by law about "pricing display" and have to match the price as displayed. Sad, there don't! And I end it up paying x3 times the price from $8 online to $18/yard in-store. Wooow! I definitely can said this store is run by monkeys.

I have been a Fabricland customer for a very long time. I am a die hard quilter and this is my go to store for my fabric needs. I must say thought that since the other location was closed down, I have moved to the location on Fischer Road SE. I am becoming more and more disappointed in the maintenance of this store. Quilting is an expensive hobby with the cost of fabric continuing to go up, there needs to be more attention to the fabric and how it is displayed or kept.

The staff is lovely and always willing to help out but the manner in which the fabric is displayed is actually quite atrocious. I was in the store yesterday looking for some Valentines fabric and I pretty much walked 2 isles and turned around and left the store. They way the shelves looked and the way the bolts were just everywhere was quite appalling. Fabric needs to remain orderly so that it does not get dirt from the floors etc.all over it and is easy to look at.

If I would rate 0 star, I will! Worse customer service ever! A senior who works there shouldn't be talking to customer, so disrespectful. It is shame that you are going to spend your money and she couldn't treat you with respect but at the same time, they have a sign asking for respect to the associates. That should be also the other way around. For sure I am not going back to this location, send her to a class that teach her how to deal with customers!

I’m new to sewing anything. The staff were awesome with lots of guidance and info. Selection is almost overwhelming (in a good way). I was looking for the ‘Mary Jane’ selection and found 3/5 of the options I knew existed. Wish they had more in that paradigm!?

It’s very sad how this location is a mess, looks like they don’t care about organizing the fabric an keep it presentable for the customers, you can walk into the fabric on the floor. I couldn’t stay there more than 10 minute because was disgusting. And you better keep your questions because the people working there are not friendly at all. That’s a shame that was one of the best locations in town but not any more.

The girl at the front door and the lady at cash were friendly and helpful. The lady's working the cutting table and restocking fabric were downright rude and extremely unhelpful. We were the 2nd customer in the doors right as they opened, so the store was empty, we put our items down on the cutting table only to be completely ignored for a good 4-5 minutes by the 2 ladies working the area, only to be literally yelled at that we need to get in the line.when i asked what line, (as there was no one else around) we were ignored again. I walked around to the other side of the tables where there was a small printed sign that says line starts here. Ok. So i stood their and waiting for someone to help me, again way too long. The young dark haired lady called up over and literally rolled her eyes at everything. I ordered 4 fabrics to be cut by cm and without even thinking gave a measurement for a trim piece in feet, to which she snapped that they only cut my cm. Ridiculous! A good customer will not be coming back.

I've been to Fabricland a couple times this summer & had to wait in line - very good covid protocols. Today I didn't go until 5 and walked right in - yay.not sure if I should be announcing this LOL! Anyway, as always, found what I needed as always & staff always very nice & helpful in figuring out how much you need.

I’ve always had mixed experiences here. I’ve been going here for years, and the staff are always rude and not very helpful when you ask a question.
I called in yesterday to ask about some NHL fabric, as i haven’t been in in awhile and couldn’t remember. The employee on the phone told me “No, we don’t carry any Nhl licensed fabrics. Thank you, bye” and then hung up before i could ask another question. I decided to come in anyways because i wanted to look for something instead of the nhl fabric. I walk in and right in the front of the store, with a big sign saying “Nhl Licensed”, is a whole section dedicated to nhl fabric.
I’ve just accepted that when I come here to not even bother asking for help.
Also, wear a damn mask people. It’s not that hard. It’s about keeping other people safe and healthy, it’s not just about you.

GOOD SELECTION, CAN BE EXPENSIVE

This location of Fabricland has a good amount of selection of regular price items as well as a fairly large Bargain Center in the back. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly also there aren't always enough of them. Oftentimes I wait about 10 plus people at the cutting centres waiting to have my fabric measured and cut for me. It is worth it to watch for the sales or even sign up for their email notifications for Wednesday has come because thankful price can get very expensive very quickly. When I do purchase it's almost always items that are just counted unless there is a special material that I and therefore end and willing to pay full price for often these are around $20 a metre. Lots of people have been making their own masks during covid-19 and this location has a good selection of the Pressed fabric used as a filter liner as well as many elastic options.

What happened to this location? Went in today, I was a frequent member of the south store before it closed. It looks like a BOMB went off in here. All the bolts were thrown into a pile, no pricing or sale signs anywhere. Asked a staff member for help and she had no idea. I can honestly say I’ll never come back here. Sooo unorganized.

Rephuolstering a chair was new to me and after reading reviews online about Fabricland I was hesitant coming into a store. Looking lost and unable to find what I needed, Cheryl approached me with open arms and great energy; helping me find the right fabric for the job.

One of the few remaining large fabric stores. If you sew, you can get lost in this store. There is so much to choose from. When they have a sale, the bargains are really great. The selection of fabrics, especially quilting cottons, is great. I found a few specialty items I had been looking for too. This store is on my list of must go to stores whemever I go to Valgary.

I had an amazing experience here thanks to Shelby! I can seriously say that I had a huge smile on my face after stopping by.

She was patient, pleasant, and genuinely helpful. The suggestions she offered were super creative & useful; I was thoroughly impressed by her authenticity, knowledge of the store/products, and overall dedication to provide an excellent experience.

Seriously- if you want ABOVE AND BEYOND service, great advice, incredible deals, and a huge variety of products, go to this Fabricland!

If I could give no stars I would. I don't normally go to this location as I don't like the layout and selection. Today I found one more reason NOT to go again. My daughter and I were approached by an old white haired lady sales clerk and very rudely told she was not allowed drinks and "it better not leave the stroller" (my daughter had one in her babies stroller). Ok I get why but the old bag could have said very nicely, "You may not have noticed the sign on the door for no food or drink " IF it existed. And then asked nicely for it to be taken outside. Maybe some training on customer service is in order for this lady.

Last weekend I went to Fabricland and had a fantastic customer service experience. Cheryl (her name tag said Assistant Manager) helped me and I am truly appreciative. I was planning a dinner party that involved constructing elaborate fabric decor. Cheryl was so helpful finding me the appropriate fabric, determining required measurements for the project, and was very professional and detail-oriented. Thank you Cheryl for making my dinner party a success!

Experienced the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Asked a employee if she could help me as I'm making curtains for my trailer, was looking for fabrics that would be good to block sun. She told me she couldn't help me and that I should go get lessons, when I let her know that I don't need lessons and needed help with picking a fabric, she told me she wouldn't help me and to go hire a designer to help. When I tried to explain myself a third time, that I was just looking for a fabric that would block sun out, I looked at the employee next to her, and the lady I was speaking with told me not to look at her because she wasn't going to help me either.

Honestly, what a horrible experience. Will look for an alternative company to get fabrics from due to this experience.

I found what I needed but when measuring it ended up having a stain throughout it which was pretty disappointing. The only friendly and helpful sales person in there was Judith, she's truly a gem!

The staff are not very helpful. They have an attitude and act like assisting you with anything is beneath them. Especially Judith, she is the reason I will no longer step in this location.

I loved the many fabric choices. This was my first visit in the store and it was so much fun. I am making rag quilts for my grandkids and the store had everything I needed X3. I will be back that's for sure.

Poor service by the grumpy old lady at the till. She shouldn’t be in customer service if she can’t simply treat native people the same as any other, we are people too and if you fail to see past stereotypical assumption maybe you shouldn’t be in customer service!

Large selection of fabrics and accessories, but I always struggle to find a store associate willing to assist me with anything. There also seems to be a universal Fabricland attitude amongst the employees that they need to be judgemental of anyone younger than 45 shopping there, not just specific to this location. I tend to try to limit my visits to any Fabriclands as a result, despite trying to build a home business based on fiber arts.
