My family and I are proud to have been associated with this clinic. Our family doctor is like family. The other physicians, nurses, receptionists and staff are very professional and always lean to facilitate patient care.

As a patient here of 19+ years, I will sadly not be returning. After sending a fax refill request for a prescription from a business fax line, Dr. Kathy Unger thought it appropriate to send reply correspondence (containing my confidential health information) back to that business fax line. It was addressed to the business, and not to me personally; a bunch of admin staff received and reviewed my health information by the time it made its way to me. Violating experience.

I have been a patient at this clinic for over 5 years. 2 years ago I moved to Sylvan lake but kept my doctor because she was great. For over 2 years I’ve had a particular medication on refill, my pharmacy faxes the doctor, she signs it and sends it back. No problems. Until now, apparently their “new” rule is that any and all requests from pharmacies for prescription refills have to have an in person appointment (so they can charge money to ABHC for an appointment).
What a money grab. Thats awful patient service and continuity of care. I had to book an appointment in person (which is over a month away) and my prescription runs out in the next 2-3 days. Even my pharmacy is shocked at the level of service. I am on a wait list to find a new doctor. Such a shame that money comes before patient care.

Dr Van Niekerk is amazing, I feel lucky to have him as my doc. I have no negative comments about the rest of the staff, they are always professional and doing their best. Great clinic.

ZERO STARS BUT IT WON’T let me do that. Unfortunately, the worst doctor that was working at their clinic was forced into early retirement. Most people in that town call him Dr. Idiot and anyone who knows the truth will know of whom I am referring to. Many and some of these doctors get away with everything, including missed diagnosis’s because general practice doctors are few and far between and they know that the demand is outrageous at this time, People are desperate so they will take what they can get at this point including terrible service and terrible bedside manner. What people need to remember is that doctors, nurses, MOA’s, receptionist, etc. ALL of them work for us, we do not work for them and we need to stop letting them treat us like we are second class citizens. It’s time for us to remember that they are just human beings, and they are incredibly flawed because they can’t even get past their own egos to admit when they’re wrong and be accountable. There are medical malpractice lawyers that are waiting for your call. Also, know this, people sue doctors all the time, however, it’s rarely in the news, because they’re usually settled out of court and paid off. Also, Doctors will defend each other and stand up for each other even when they’re in the wrong and when you try to tell on them to another doctor, you get a black mark on your file. I’m speaking my truth. I am someone from the medical field, over 25 years experience dealing with this and watching patients being mistreated and falling through the cracks. I am no longer keeping silent.

The medical staff is amazing, friendly they get you in and out fairly quick doctors are great with the patient and is always very clean. You just feel comfortable when you come here.
