Our sumptious meal on New Years Eve! We waited for a while despite saying to ick it up after 30mins but the wait was worth it

Got the dinner for 6, was plenty of food especially for the price. Some of the meat could have used more sauce, food was also not very spicy. No chopsticks either. Friend also used women's washroom. 4 star for food is more from quantity than quality.

Surprised to have such formal Chinese food in such a small town. Generally speaking, the taste is very good, the price is authentic, and each dish is about ten yuan. According to the recommendation of the boss, I ordered beef with scallion sauce and boiled fish, both of which were very good. The mapo tofu I ordered was slightly lacking in chili pepper flavor, and I think it is more suitable for foreigners. The Kung Pao chicken is just quite satisfactory. Personally, I feel that the chef may be more good at beef dishes. All dishes are moderately salty, which is hard to come by. Five stars for you! Hope to eat your Chinese food again next time I come to Banff

Customer service: the people there are friendly, and they always to welcome the customers.

Food: my family and I arrived at the restaurant at 9 PM, and they were closing at 10 PM. I ordered three dishes, including tofu, chicken and pork. The food takes around 15 minutes, and it is very efficient. The taste is also excellent. Specifically, the pork I ordered is crispy, and the tofu had much taste. I really recommend the spicy chicken since it tastes spicy and tastes good with the rice. This is my first time to arrive in Alberta, and I’m jealous of the people live in this neighbourhood for this Chinese restaurant. In other towns in Canada, there are not too many options for Asian food.

For the price of the food, the portion for each dish is big, so the food is affordable and tasteful. My family and I went there and ordered three dishes, we still have the leftover for takeout after eating.

Summary: This Chinese restaurant deserves five stars. I recommend to try this place for the asian food taste.

Absolutely NOT authentic Chinese cooking.

Ordered hot & sour soup w/noodle (additional surcharged) - not spicy, too sour, watery ‘soup’. Had to ask for shredded BBQ pork to add to soup to try to make it to what a hot & sour soup should be.

Ordered kungbo chicken and chicken fried rice. Most bland and tasteless Chinese food I have had.

We absolutely loved Famous Chinese Restaurant which is situated in a cute wooden building. During the week we were in Canmore we ate here 3 times. We are vegetarian & our favourite dish was ‘Braised 4 Jewels’, a delicious stir fry of broccoli, snow peas, Chinese mushrooms & fresh mushrooms. The serving of quality ingredients was so large we couldn’t eat it all. The staff were always friendly & efficient so nothing not to love about this place. We may have to come to Canmore more often just to eat at this restaurant!

Wow great American style Chinese food! My only concern is I asked for 3 plates and only got 2… otherwise good food! Must check out while in Canmore!

Takeout food was mediocre - slightly dry almond chicken. Service was passable but not particularly friendly.

Absolutely the worst food I have ever eaten. Every dish was cold, undercooked, or tasted off, noodles not cooked, eggrolls soggy and full of chowmein noodle. Not a single dish was finished by our group, service subpar at best.

We enjoyed dinner here on our first night in Canmore. Lots of vegetarian options, we got our food fast and at a good price. Loved the hot and sour soup (very hot!). Just don't sit by the window if it's a cold day.

Not my favorite place. Ordered chicken cashew and it was by far the worse I've had almost didn't eat any. Lemon chicken, spring rolls and eggrolls were good but nothing crazy. Wouldn't go back.on a more positive note the pick up time was fast. Dont think i can answer back to the owner but yes 100% sure. I wouldnt do a review for a place I did not go to.

Came to Canmore with my daughter and had an amazing meal with wonderful ambience, beautiful views, nice peaceful environment. Exceptional, some of the best we’ve ever had. We’ll be back!

I ordered a take out order an hour later got called to asked why i have picked it up plus when i orfered went bye number of the menu got asked to give the menu name they do not know ther own menu get some people that can speek englisg

Deserved the name! The foods are delicious! We loved the Chow mein, and the Sea food delight is the best!

We’ve been there twice! We will order again tomorrow before leaving Canmore.

I am not happy of how the lady behave in the front. She's kinda unpleasant to deal with. The food are good except for this lady staff that act rude and unapproachable.

Famous Chinese Restaurant! There is a reason why it is famous. All my friends knew about it when we arrived. Do not let the 3.9 stars deceive you. The dishes are definitely fire at the table and in the washroom. As a native chinese person, it almost smelled like home to me. It was just missing some herbs. I ordered the white rice combo. They even gave us the rice spoon picker. You can even use the leftover rice for fried rice.

Nice food I had ginger chicken was good but not spicy it says it is spicy on the menu! Overall food was very good fresh should give it a try

Food was all made really well and the lemon chicken, ginger beef and spring rolls were exactly what I wanted. Good value as well and friendly service.

My first and only bad review. Sorry for that, but "vegetables Shanghai noodle" were disgusting. Absolutely tasteless, no vegetables at all, pasta overcooked and you ask for this "meal" 11.95? ! Really sad experience.

We didn’t even make it in the door and my husband asked her if they did buffets the look we got with the snotty answer was enough to not go in.

The only thing “famous” about this restaurant is the amount of time you’ll spend in the washroom exploding whatever it is you just ate. On the positive side, it will give you an opportunity to contemplate your life choices and perhaps make an order elsewhere.

Honestly the best Chinese food I’ve had in Canada up to now. Food tasted amazing, portion sizes were on the larger size and the price was very reasonable. Cute little restaurant and friendly staff.

Was OK.western style chinese fast food like. Lots of grease/oil I found especially the spring rolls. The fried rice was bland and needed lots of soya sauce which I do not use on my food. OK.support local if u so care.

Outstanding food! We always get take out from there everytime we are in Canmore.
4 or 5 times a year. Sometimes we will drive out there and walk around then have dinner there before we go home. If you enjoy Chinese food, this is the place to go when you are in Canmore.

Nice place in Canmore for Chinese food. We ordered quite a bit to try their menu out and we not let down with any of the dishes. Will come back again for another visit!

Service was quick and food was really good. The dinner for 4 at $80 fills 4 people with a lot of food to spare. The staff was really nice and the restaurant is conveniently located 5 minutes from the main strip

Awesome service, great food. We ate a couple dishes before remembering to take pictures it was that good. We have driven by this restaurant many times when we are in the area and wish we had stopped in sooner! My kids even loved the food and our server was very attentive and friendly. Will definitely return when we are in Canmore again. Big thumbs up.

Ordered food here for delivery at 6: 22, told they would get here within 90 minutes (Long wait time lmao) Called multiple times because we forgot to tell them which door and absolutely zero answers on both of their numbers. Finally was able to get through to someone at 8: 23 (Over 2 hours later) and was told that our order hadn't even left yet. Canceled my order and got Delivery from the Phoenix Buffet and received it within 30 minutes. Would not recommend delivery.

Mushu pork is bland and lacking flavour.
Szechuan Shanghai noodles aren't good here. Definitely not famous for good food.

They serve best Chinese food in town. We drive to Canmore from Calgary at least once in a month for Kung Bao chicken & fried rice. Highly recommended.

The food was ready faster than expected and it was delicious as ever. We fed a family of 5 for a bit more than two meals each at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

Not so good one. There is a lot of eggshell inside the egg it was like eating eggshell. The egg was very salty in a part of it. The tofu I tasted only salt. It’s very salty the soup in the tofu, but the inside tofu has no flavored. The beef taste like frozen for 2 years no flavor and can’t chew. The only one good is the two vegetables. 不是很好吃 鸡蛋饼里全是蛋壳还有的很咸 豆腐没味道但是里面的汤真的很咸 咖喱牛肉牛肉嚼不烂！！

Very rich and filling food with a nice atmosphere for a family or just yourself. I will be coming back here for sure! The best Chinese food I have had ever and I like how I dont feel rundown or slow after eating here like some.chinese place are. Thank you!

No rice? Perhaps it's an american thing but I've never ordered Chinese and not had rice included with the meal. We ordered dinner and after opening it at the hotel, called to ask about rice. They said you have to order it separately - we had no idea. Kinda made our meal a bummer. General Tso's and Ginger Fried Chicken tastes decent - but the portions were on the small side and without the rice - we are still hungry.

The service was awesome, food was excellent, the price was right and the experience was superb. We will definitely be going back the next time we are in town

This restaurant has really great Chinese food and they are one of the my top favorites Chinese restaurant, the services is really good and the waitresses was really kind to us.

I had Kung Bo Chicken. Delicious! My husband had the lunch special, chosing stirfried vegetable and ginger beef, equally good; we shared back and forth!

This place is busy but the take-out is just as busy. Everyone enjoys the food and friendly service. Just try for yourself!

Wonderful food, service and location! Was on the transit bus from Banff to Canmore and HD planned for a Western meal but the sight and smell of Chinese food emanating from Famous Chinese Restaurant got my boyfriend and I walking towards the shop, opting for a 3 course dinner. Slurps

One of the best if not the best Chinese restaurants I have ever eaten in Canada. Food is par excellence with a friendly and warm atmosphere.
Even if you do not like Chinese food I guarantee you will like this one.

Always busy, but great Chinese restaurant. Be patient, grab a table and enjoy. The ginger beef is particularly good, and their serving sizes are great. They also do takeaway.

Excellent food. We ordered the salt and pepper ribs, chicken in black bean sauce and shrimp fried rice and absolutely loved the taste. Minor issue regarding placing the order and pick up in general caused quite a delay and confusion, but the food more than made up for it.

I've been here more times than I can count since moving in October. Great prices, especially just a short drive outside Banff. You're paying at least double in the national park!
Take the dinner combos over the lunch! LOOOOOVE the veggies & rice.

Excellent food and reasonable prices. Our meal of bean sprouts mixture chicken fried rice and sweet and sour fish lasted 2 days for two people was $70 (including gst and a tip of 18%) we will return.

There aren't a ton of options for Chinese food in Canmore, but this one gives you food good enough that you'd think they were competing. Fried rice was not greasy and had a wonderful flavor; general tso chicken was lightly fried and delicious. Definitely give this place a chance. You can even smell how good it is from outside on the street.

I asked around town who made the best won ton soup and everyone said the Famous Chinese Restaurant. We arrived at 5: 30 on Feb 20th, 2019 and the sign listing the operating hours on the door said 12 noon to 10 pm, but it was closed. There was no other sign stating that they were closed for any reason or when they would reopen. A person did come to the door, but did not speak english or try to offer any reason for the closure. Most everyone can understand extenuating circumstances, but the public needs to be informed in order to even begin to understand.

One of the servers asked one of my friends to move to the back of the restaurant so as to not "scare customers" because he was black. That is not ok!

Restaurant was clean, quiet, with very cool decor, service was prompt.
Food was greasy but very flavourful. We ordered the "Famous Favourite" szechuan beef appetizer, soo tasty, highly recommend.
I am very glad we had the pleasure to try out this restaurant.

This is THE BEST (North American style) Chinese food I've had since moving to Canada a few years ago. I was so happy to finally see General Tso's chicken on a menu! It was great, too! I ate here twice for dinner during my short stay in Canmore and I'll definitely be back every time I go to the Rockies. Service was great and the food is awesome, yet very reasonably priced.

Went yesterday on the 19th and they had a note saying they were closed and they would be open the next day at 4: 30. No big deal, but we went there at 5: 30 the next day an hour after they were to re open and still closed. Tried calling and no answer. Pretty disappointed you could say.
