The only thing that sucks about this place is the slow elevators! Thankfully, it is only slow during check-in and check-out times! I love staying here, it really is a magical place!

Edit: Now that we slept the night, we've discovered that you can't adjust the temperature in the room, the thermostat is locked at 19.0 degrees. No "fan on" mode for circulation. The last straw for me was that there was no hot water in the sink or shower (warmish but definitely not near hot) even if you let it run. The bed is on a rug and the rest of the room is laminate. You get shocks from the trim when you get off the bed and if you jump over trim, you get one when you touch anything. I thought in was being petty wanting to complain about the shocks but after my husband was complaining about it, I thought I'd mention it.
We were woken up 3 times in the night (Sun) by people in the hall.

New room but unless you are staying alone this is horrible. For $350 you get a large room that is so empty it echos. No sitting area, no coffee table, empty room with a desk, dresser, a desk and chair and two plain chairs by the window. The walls are thin and I can hear everything around us. Maybe the point is to NOT want to stay in the room so you shop. Hugely disappointing. My husband just told me we can talk but we have to yell because we're so far apart.lol

The washroom is tiny, has no fan, or real door. The mirror is DEEP in an alcove without adequate lighting and no makeup mirror. The mirror is "lit" but it is dim and you can't get near the mirror (1.5 feet is the closest even when leaning in). If you don't have 20-20 vision, BRING A MAKE UP MIRROR. No real door and everyone in the hall can hear you pee.

Sounds like a mechanical room (loud, clanks, elevator, echos). Atmosphere was like a hospital. Empty, hard surfaces, cold temperature, pocket doors. The decorated parts feel very out of place (fuzzy pink rug under the bed, small velvet chair in an empty area as large as the bed-when you talk it echos.

Do not recommend the King Executive room. 520.

Had fun & enjoyed the mall. Blood on the wall above the bathroom mirror was horrific. Prob stay there again tho, just wont touch anything. Hallway decor is pretty ghetto ngl

There was construction going on in the rooms next to us during our stay. I find it completely unreasonable to charge 300 a night and also have to listen to the racket. The walls were shaking.

Run down and dirty with no microwave, far from luxurious LOL. Way overpriced go somewhere else and save yourself the disappointment. Also read the reviews about the bed bugs!

Good spot to stay if you're hitting up West Edmonton Mall. The discount at the attractions made it worthwhile to pay more to be here rather than ten minutes down the road. Nice rooms, friendly service, will pay for it but we found it worthwhile.

After reviewing all the rooms on your website this was the weirdest misconception of size and a view that looks onto a roof. Why is there no microwave? It would live under the coffee machine in the useless closet by the hallway, I don't understand why there's no microwave in this room.

The smell was something else right out the elevator and into hallway to the door, it was a very humid smell that is commonly associated with mildew or mold. Don't use the 7th floor, stinks.

Great service and food! Wonderful stay.

However, may I please request for checking of your camera for our lost large brown luggage? I know it is not your bell boy's fault but we are just hoping it is just kept somewhere safe. Thank you and please email me for update. We checked out today instead of tomorrow.

Avoid staying at this hotel at all costs when you can get a cheaper fare from nearby hotel locations. The rooms haven't been updated since my family and I stayed at this hotel in 1991!
Not to mention, the Front Desk staff are ignorant, I was stuck in one of the elevators, once I got out on my own, I informed the Front Desk who didn't seem to care enough to call in a technician to close the elevator for inspection. I informed the Manager via email, the Manager offered to remove $75.00 from my hotel bill which I refused since I have decided to check out 5 days early and have booked at another hotel with a kitchenette and a lower rate. I can say that I will never stay at Fantasyland Hotel ever again and will encourage my friends and family to stay away from this 3 star hotel with 5 star rates.stay away!

$936 for a room for 2 nights and the pop machine doesn't have pop in it. The restaurant messed up the order but they will send up 2 cans if pop they get for next to nothing on the house. Not worth the money. Could have for a regular room and saved $600 but it's my boys 13th birthday. Never ever again

Awful! We took room for 370 cad/night, very poor room maintenance, hair in the bathtub and sink. Faded blankets. Very small beds.
We left 10 min. After arrival. Don't have a clue why it overbooked.

We always enjoy staying here because it is attached to the mall and is super convenient. That being said, the rooms are becoming dated and I wish the company would reinvest and do some upgrades. The bathroom counters are extremely low for some reason, probably a good 4-6” below standard counter height. There are no USB plugs for devices, and the alarm clock looks like it is from the 80s.

Truthfully I was somewhat disappointed in this hotel. The theme room was well done but I was expecting better service for the price charged. I called for more towels and toiletries but they were never delivered and they don't seem to be able to manage busy times well. One guest told us that there was a lineup when she checked in that went out the front door and there was a long lineup for the elevators to go to the rooms one evening. It was nice that they offered discounted tickets to the West Edmonton Mall attractions though.

We had a premium family themed room booked for one night. We asked for an early check in, they couldn’t accommodate us (which we understood), so we continued our shopping and played at galaxy land. At 6: 30 we went back to the hotel, desperate to relax after a full day with toddlers and no naps, and our room wasn’t ready. They said it would take an additional 2 hours! We paid almost 600 dollars for one night and we won’t be in our room until it’s the kids bedtime. Completely unacceptable!

Nice comfortable hotel, but when we
checked in to room.the room was previously used which was fine, they change us rooms so fast that we must of left or car keys behind so when we asked the next day about the keys the room already been cleaned so we must of lost them somewhere else.we'll tow car to dealership then had to rent hotel for another few days while we waiting for key to come in from another dealership outa town. 2 days later hotel call us and and let us know they found ours key in the room they rush us from.so much money on hotel and cabs because they didn't have compassion and listen nothing offered to us for componsation really disappointed

Was there during covid lock down so nothing was open. Service was excellent and very friendly. Cool room theams and nice layout of rooms. With that being said craftsmenship was poor and materials used were cheaply made. (was in polenasian room for one example you could see the nails holding up the fake bamboo. Filling those holes would help make the room a bit better built)

Desperately needs more elevators or stairwell access. Horribly overpriced, but the proximity in the mall kind of justifys it. If I didn't have little kids I'd stay 5 minutes away for less than half the price.

The regular family rooms are old and dated. The bathroom did not have a working fan and half of the lighting didn't work. The staff did not explain that the hotel key only works to get to your floor. I was stuck in the elevator for 20 minutes trying to get to another floor to grab my kids that were in a friend's room on a different floor. When I got back down to the main floor and advised the front clerk she looked at me like I was dumb and said I didn't know how to use an elevator. She proceed to walk me over swipe my key and put me on the wrong floor. She kept my 2nd key and as the elevator door closed she yelled at me to come back if I have time. I would rather stay at a hotel in the area and just drive to the mall. Not worth it.

The employees were extremely rude and unhelpful with our simple questions and we woke up to no power. And when the kids went to go ask to borrow tape and scissors and the employees were extremely rude to them but when the adults went to go ask the employees had no issue. We literally came to just have a good time for a birthday party

The room was very disappointing for a world class hotel. We had a family room with 5 of us in it for a week. Very outdated and the room was not cleaned properly. We found a broken link of necklace chain on the floor in the bathroom, a sock in the top bunk of the bed and an aleve pill on the floor by a bed. There are no USB plug ins to charge phones, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, there was no clothes line to dry our wet bathing suites, no dressers, a very small end table and desk to eat off of which could not accommodate us all so we had to eat on our beds, no microwave, very small coffee maker that could easily be updated to a Keurig which we brought pods for but wasn't there, no fan in the bathroom, tv was ancient and so was the remote. Wifi is mall wifi and is terrible, kids complained the whole time. I will never stay here again or recommend this hotel. Could easily renovate to update and make it better. I see many similar complaints. Wish I had booked a cheaper more updated hotel close by then waste my money here.

For the price stay somewhere else. It’s dirty and gross and not enough staff. My room wasn’t available until 7pm by that point it was time for the kids to go to bed. The room was dirty when we finally got in. There was a half drank water bottle in the fridge my kid tried to drink. When I called the front desk they offered me money off my room. Which was nice but still not worth what I’m paying. I’ll never stay again. I’d rather stay in a motel.

My family called to book a room and had mentioned 2 adults and 1 kid, for a Polynesian Family room (at less one month in advance). They booked a 1 adult room, we recalled to confirm that it was 2 adults and kids and they confirmed it was a family room. When we arrived at our room there was just one double bed, we called management and they said there was no family rooms available, so they will send a foldable bed for the kid. We had to call 5 times because we never received the extra bed, it arrived at 10pm. They also charged us a 20$ a night for the extra bed when we paid for a family room. Worst experience ever had at a hotel.

The rooms have never been updated, the bathrooms are from the 80's, very out of date. We were just happy that there was a bar fridge and a coffee maker, and a unique bath. Will not be coming here again.

We are visiting the area and wanted to stay in a theme room with the kids. Our room is filthy. There was blood on the bathroom sink, something sticky left on the nightstand, dirty glasses and cups left out for us to use. The rooms are well worn, and generally in a state of declining disrepair. We are very disappointed to say the least. The amount of money that they charge per night for this hotel should warrant a much cleaner and maintained room. Our keycard won’t work in the elevator (which is required to use it) and the front desk will not correct this for us.

After having a fantastic day visiting Fort Edmonton Park and spending time with some of my family i never get to see, (thanks to booking in advance) we were FINALLY able to stay in the space room after having to put plans on hold because of the lockdowns. Anyway the room is Really Cool, it has infinity mirrors all over the place, pod style beds with universal outlets and switches for lights in the pod, a queen sized bed and 2 large Samsung TVs.

Overall i would definitely recommend staying here.

There are however a few small issues we ran into while staying here, for starters the large tub sprays water all over the room with the top jets on and soaks the carpet and everything around it, the shower in the bathroom leaves a puddle of water on the bathroom floor with every shower, the beds in the pods are paper thin but i would still sleep no problem and with all that in mind for over $400 per night you'd normally expect a fantastic practically flawless experience but in the last 5-10 years the quality has gone down significantly while the prices keep going up.

I would still recommend staying here, even with all it's issues. However if you're on a budget it would be much cheaper to stay in a different hotel and instead go to the water park, galaxyland and have all meals covered for less than the price of 1 night here.

Room was nice. Horrific customer service. We were charged over $100 MORE in deposits than other guests. Zero flexibility in payment options. Jim at the front desk was condescending and arrogant. Check out was miserable making us wait 20 min to “check the room” before giving us our deposit. I have never been subjected to such service at a hotel and I note no other customers were subjected to it. I can’t help but think this has to do with my wife being black and this was just pure racism on the part of the staff. Very very poor experience and I would not recommend anyone ever give this place money.

I was not disappointed with this hotel, it met or exceeded my expectations. I am writing a review to describe the hotel, not my experience. This is not a luxury hotel. It is meant for families driving in from Prince George to Prince Albert for a quick vacation and some shopping. The best thing about it is the location inside of the West Edmonton Mall. I could go take a nap while the family was shopping). We stayed in a Roman theme room. It looked like it was recently updated. It exceeded my expectations and the kids loved it. It is bigger than it looks in the photo, lots of room around the beds. The beds are Queen. The statue was a nice touch but creepy at night ;-). I was impressed that the whole floor had a Roman theme, not just the room. The discounts for the mall attractions help offset the high price. Note that it does not have a pool or breakfast that are typical for a family hotel. There is free parking nearby, but no way to safely walk to it. For security the elevator requires your key card to get to your floor. The hotel was understaffed, due to COVID, not their fault. The thing that surprised and disappointed me is the hotel entrance.the WEM has a huge, functional, 2 level parking lot surrounding it. It is ugly and showing its age. The hotel doesn't really have an entrance. You could drive by it and think it was a loading dock. There are no sidewalks to parking. You have to walk in the traffic. Overall a good place to stay if you want to visit the WEM for a couple days.

We stayed in an executive king room for one night. The convenience to the mall is one of the reasons we chose this hotel. We’ve also stayed here before a number of years ago (in a theme room) and had a good experience. The room itself is starting to show its age and could use some updates. There is a single alarm clock and no USB ports anywhere in the room. We didn’t bring our phone chargers and ended up having to go buy one at a store in the mall. The fixtures are older and showing obvious signs of wear. The bathroom has a tiny shower and the counter is oddly low. Two of the lights over the counter were burned out. There’s a massive jacuzzi tub in the room (which we didn’t use) which is likely why the shower was so small. The bed was as hard as a rock. I’ve stayed in many hotels over the years and I’ve never had a bed this hard before. The pillows, while plentiful, were all very high and both my husband and I woke up the next morning in pain. The room itself was clean and we enjoyed the breakfast menu at the L2 restaurant. We’d likely choose a different hotel next time as the price and convenience simply didn’t outweigh the negatives about the room.

We stayed in the space room for two nights and another in the Africa room. We loved the space room their were bunk beds and cool space stuff everywhere along with two tv’s which both had rows of lights there was one for the jacuzzi and one for the big bed. Both were rotatable. All beds in the room queen sized even the space pods. My negative complaints for the space room are that the safes beside the bed don’t work and the bedding for the main bed was so faded yku couldn’t tell it was space bedding.
The African room was cool but not as good. They also forgot our coffee machine. The bathroom wasn’t decorated but it was still a cool room. There was so much fun stuff in it however I defiantly preferred the space room but I did like the waterfall. Service is good and the room was clean. Defiantly coming back. Also it had great access to the gigantic mall! The water park was amazing I went flying on my tube in the wave pool. Lines there were really long but I didn’t mind. There is also a theme park but the red roller coaster was closed. We also went go karting which was fun recommend that to. Either way with it’s great access to the mall and the cleanliness of the room we will be going back and recommend it

I have a mix feelings about this hotel. First of all, let me start by saying the reception staff is amazing. However, for $380 a night I expected more. Our room wasn't cleaned properly which is extremely disappointing considering we're in the middle of a pandemic. There was stuff from the previous guest that was left in the room like used wipes and water bottles. Secondly, they don't even have specific wifi for the guests. They use the same wifi as the mall which for me is really cheap. That being said, be ready for a slow internet connection. Aside from the room design, I'm not so sure if this hotel is really worth the money.

We stayed in the Roman theme room and had no issues with the service. Staff were friendly, informative and readily available when needed. The jacuzzi tub was a great and fun addition to the room. We loved the decorations and they did not disappoint on theme. Our only criticism of the room was the circle bed. It was the hardest and most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept on. We definitely did not have a good sleep. Also, the walls are very thin and you could easily hear conversations in the hallway and noise from neighbouring rooms. We would stay at this hotel again but not in this room.

We stayed in executive room. So larger than normal. The room size was great but the room it’s self is in need of a renovation. Yes it was clean, but other than that I would say this room needs some love. We love that the fact that you can shop and stay this is a major plus.

I was having a bad Christmas and the staff was so nice so helpful they let me in my room early they were so helpful even when my cell phone charger broke they are willing to give me a cord.and their themed rooms definitely change up the whole hotel experience lots of rooms with private jacuzzis too woot woot

My boyfriend and I have stayed in this hotel several times for the last couple of years. We decided to stay here for Christmas this year and I am so disappointed. We were unable to watch any movie in our room because their TV services are broken. They kept sending maintenance workers over and over again only for them to tell us they don't know how to fix it. Three days of no movies. They offered us free movie tickets! Really? The whole point of us booking this room is to have a nice romantic Christmas togeher watching movies in the room. Not sure we'll go back again with this kind of service.

A fantastic experience everytime. The hotel had wandering Disney princesses which amazed my toddler. Very comfortable beds, great room layouts, and phenomenal staff.

Stayed at the hotel for my girlfriends birthday in the roman theme. Beautiful room cant say anything bad. Had dinner at the V2 lounge in the lobby for some drinks. Service was a little slow but the staff was very nice.

I'm currently staying at the Fabtasyland hotel. It is 12: 41 in the morning. I cant sleep as my bed is vibrating to the music coming directly below me from the Christmas party that your staff can not control. Not all people can fall asleep no matter what. If only we had known staying here would be so annoying.very unimpressed.

My husband and I stayed in the executive king room at fantasy land hotel in west Edmonton mall. Room is clean and comfortable. Staff is wonderful. Valet was very handy. We will definitely come back again and again.

Was looking forward to a weekend getaway with my daughters, but Very disappointed in the experience at fantasyland hotel. 2 Mornings in a row Luke warm shower, daughter shower at night also Luke warm. Rooms is dated but I don’t care about that.

We had problems with the key system, first thought it was us de magnitizing the key but after 15 times the key not working having kept them isolated not near any phones, and being very frustrated with having to continually wait in line to get key re programmed.

I understand sometime machines malfunction, but the customer services was so poor at the front desk this morning. Not one person came out at the front even after seeing I was standing there, then when I go to the door and say excuse me, he comes out. I explain the key card is deactived again and that this has been very frustrating, he proceeds to tell me it must be because we keep asking for new keys and infers it is our problem, when I explained what has been happening repeatedly this weekend, the front desk person responds, “ it is not on me”. I can’t fix it machines are not my problems. You can really tell the difference between a hotel that is focused on customer service when you experience one that is not. No sense that he is the face of the organization and not a response that he will speak to someone about it, no apology for our experience, I offered my experience in hopes that they could make improvements for the next guest instead I got a litany of excuses.

It left me even more frustrated, dissatisfied and convinced I would not stay here again, he had many opportunities for service recovery but clearly customer service is not a priority.

I went on the website to find a place to provide feedback on guest experience or contact the managers and could not find anything, would have been happy to send a customer feedback note there but, they do not make it easy to give feedback.

Booked for my anniversary. Requested early check in when I booked. Was never advised if that could be accommodated. Called the morning of check in to ask. Was told yes the room is ready. Came to set up, was given the wrong room. Proper room wasn't ready, was told I'd get a text when it was. Never received a text. So prior to check in it wasn't looking good.

No hotel WiFi and mall WiFi blocks Netflix, so don't expect to watch your own content in the room. HDMI on TV is very difficult to access as well. We didn't want the room cleaned. When we came back from some shopping we discovered the staff ignore the sign on the door and let themselves in anyway to clean.

Extra requests when booking weren't acknowledged, check in was a failure, The cleaning staff don't respect the do not disturb sign. But other than that we managed to enjoy our stay. But next time I'll probably book somewhere else

The housekeepers were great! They kept the room very nicely clean during our 4 night and 5 day stay. However, this establishment is not prepared for any sort of busy season and food was far below value. The hotel needs maintenance as things look run down. I could tell the staff tried their best but I think the business isn’t prepared to service all clients appropriately or as needed.

Not worth the hype or the money. We had to cancel our trip to Mexico, and to make it up to the kids we decided to travel from Vancouver Island to Fantasy Land. $450+ a night for a mediocre luxury suite. Room service was AWFUL. Food was cold and soggy, fresh veggie platters were flimsy and dated, glasses of milk for the kids were warm. The food was actually disgusting. Room service never topped up supplies, despite cleaning every day. We had to continually call down for toilet paper, coffee etc etc. Elevators were the only option, no stairs, which was hell for a person with vestibular issues. Elevators were also having issues over our three night stay, with maintenance always riding in them. It was nothing to write home about, and $1700.00 later, we won’t ever be back.

Not impressed with our first stay. The room smelt like stale teenagers lol and its way over priced for what it offers. For the space family room it's quite small for a family. And the room was neat but the lighting was horrible. I understand the theme is darker but there should be an option to turn it up esp in the bathroom. Made it quite difficult doing your makeup in the lighting. Also the bathroom has no fan to air it out.we will not be staying here again.

This is a good hotel, but a bit overpriced, it would only be worth the cost if you use the free waterpark passes. The rooms are big, and spacious, but seem a little bit outdated. The staff were really nice, and didn't have any problems. If you're in Edmonton, and just plan on staying at the mall, it's very convenient for that.

Stayed in the modern Malaysia theme room. Able to adjust temperature of room to comfortable setting. Spacious Room and very quite. Bed was very comfortable. The dinner theater package was reasonable and had a great time.

My famiky and I live in Calgary but have family in Edmonton we like to visit at Christmas. For the last 2 years we have booked theme rooms at this hotel. Both years we have had to cancel our 2 night reservations as my older boys suffer from anxiety and migraine headaches. In both cases the hotel charged their usual 1 night cancellation fee and wouldn't consider our situation and seemed to sluff off our request. So I have now paid you guys over $850 for nothing. And what bothers me most is I had a friend call to reserve a theme room just after I cancelled and he was told they were sold out so obviously the room had been reserved after I cancelled. Never Again.

I had a few issues with my stay here, however, after bringing them up to the front desk, the ladies took care of it very well. I am very satisfied with how they handeled the situation. Great customer service!
