After seven years of failed IVF cycles and frozen embryo transfers, my husband and I were desperate to find an answer as to why I couldn't get pregnant. My husband and I had been married for more than two and half years when we met Maria. We had tried to get pregnant with no luck, and I suspected I had endometriosis or a similar condition due to intense pain during menstruation and intercourse. We started using the Creighton method (a method of natural family planning that helped me understand my body, cycles, ovulation, and reproductive health). After working with a Creighton practitioner for 3 months, she was certain I had endometriosis, and referred me to Maria. With the help of Maria, I obtained further proof of endometriosis, and a few months later I was referred to a surgeon.

After meeting this surgeon, I was told I could undergo surgery to remove the endometriosis. The waiting period prior to the surgery was difficult, with a diagnosis of endometriosis, adenomyosis, and the prospect of infertility.

In the meantime, Maria conducted blood work to analyze my overall reproductive health. After seeing the results, she developed a treatment plan to help regulate my abnormal bleeding and hormonal levels, as well as some other endometriosis symptoms. While following her treatment plan I got pregnant twice. The first time, which occurred before the surgery, unfortunately ended in a miscarriage. I conceived again after the surgery, while following Maria’s treatment plan. I am now 6 months pregnant, and my baby and I are doing well.

I can’t say enough about Maria - she is a miracle worker! As I write this I am 44 years old and 28 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby girl, thanks to Maria. She was able to correct what years of fertility treatments could not. We had done 4 unsuccessful IUI rounds, 1 unsuccessful IVF round with my own eggs and 1 IVF round with donor eggs which resulted in pregnancy but ended in miscarriage. The simple testing Maria did and analysis of my cycle was all she needed to come up with a treatment plan for me that only included a couple of medications. Maria’s guidance has helped us achieve two healthy pregnancies, and helped us through the start of a challenging pregnancy that ended up in a loss. Without her help, knowledge, and guidance, I’m not sure we would be having our fourth baby this summer! I have a history of severe endometriosis that was first detected by our Fertility Care Practitioner at the time, after she looked at my first set of charts. This was after 4 years of trying to figure out the cause of my pain and cycle issues through our regular physician. I had surgery to remove the endometriosis in 2012 and worked with a Napro dr in the US for medication once I got pregnant for the first time. It was a complicated and expensive process going through the US.

After years of trying to get pregnant, getting an unexplained infertility diagnosis and doing unsuccessful IUI’s, we were at our breaking point. This fertility journey has been incredibly difficult. We knew someone who has two babies because of Maria so we first learned how to chart with the Creighton method via a fertility care practitioner named Caroline. After completing three to four months of charting my cervical mucus which only takes a few moments per day, we were referred to Maria, whom was a breath of fresh air. We had renewed hope.
Through my chart, Maria has been able to suspect sub-optimal progesterone which was confirmed by a thorough series of bloodwork, not just two days like most doctors do on day 3 and day 21. She was also able to suspect endometriosis which I was then put on a wait list for surgery from a fellowship trained endometriosis excision specialist in Alberta. A laparoscopic surgery confirmed Maria’s suspicions which we were so thankful for. Later when diagnosed with PCOS, Maria was there through the stress of a new diagnosis and made her self available for a zoom meeting asap while prescribing me a drug to help control my 5x more than normal insulin levels and letting us know about a surgery that can significantly help. A perk was that we could meet over zoom, she is reliable, fast to reply to emails and is knowledgeable about all things fertility. While we have not conceived yet and it has been a longer process for us than others going through Napro, we are incredibly indebted to Maria whom has been the only health professional to diagnose both endometriosis and now PCOS.
This fertility journey is not for the faint of heart but we have made more progress with finding the root of the problem than any other health professionals. Modern healthcare will give “unexplained infertility” as a diagnosis, whereas NaPro will say that “unexplained infertility” is not a diagnosis but a symptom of an underlying health issue that is not being addressed. We trust NaPro because it is evidence based and we are grateful for the fact that NaPro Technology uses decades of research with women’s Creighton chart info, combined with their health history, to help NaPro practitioners easily identify issues usually by just looking at a few months of a woman’s charting. For 2 years after getting married I was unable to conceive naturally and I was starting to think it might be impossible for me. Maria Bizecki was able to help me get on track by prescribing progesterone (after determining mine was low)
