Finishing Touches

Hi Everyone,

I would like to say that my sister and I have been to Finishing Touches many times over the years and it has always been a lovely experience! Many wonderful gifts have been purchased at Finishing Touches and each item is completely loved by the recipients, including ourselves!

This store is beautiful and it is located in the beautiful small town of Okotoks and it has that small town feel to it. The atmosphere and ambience in the store is super nice and calm and stress-free! There is so much to see and enjoy in this store and some items are one of a kind which is really cool!

The environment and shopping experience is so calming and lovely and relaxing and the management and staff are always kind and helpful and knowledgeable and super professional! My sister and I both very much enjoy going to Finishing Touches and many of our friends have also shopped at Finishing Touches and we'll continue to visit and shop at Finishing Touches!

Thank you so much for another great shopping experience! We will be back!

This store is AMAZING! So many cute Christmas items and the lanterns…. There are so many to choose from you will definitely find the perfect one!

I was at the store on Sunday came too early. They said it opened at 11 so I came back 11 0 3. I'm standing at the door and she says to me. Why do you look so sad and the other one said oh, we came in an hour early to get things set up and they were still not ready. I have found every time I come in to okotoks that these people are so rude. I will never, ever come back to that store again. I didn't even go in on Sunday. I turned around, got in my car and took off. I guess they figure they're the only store around that they can treat people anyway they want and they will come back. Wrong wrong wrong! Oh and I might add yes they are very overpriced.

Decided to visit downtown Okotoks for some cute boutique shopping with my 7.5 month baby and stroller. The other shops were warm and accommodating as I maneuvered my way through, often graciously opening doors for me and having friendly conversation. I was excited to go into Finishing Touches to check out the cute Christmas decor.

Well let me tell you, I had quite the opposite experience. I was quickly approached as soon as I entered and firmly told by one of the workers that I couldn’t come into the store with my stroller and that they used to have a place to park it but don’t anymore. Apparently their aisles are too crowded and I couldn’t physically get around. With plenty of shopping bags in the undercarriage of the stroller, a diaper bag, a purse and a 20 lb+ baby, I didn’t have a choice but to bring the stroller.

I asked the worker about if they allow people with wheelchairs into their store (because my stroller is certainly less wide than a wheelchair) and she shrugged her shoulders and said “we do our best” and informed me that I can shop online. I returned to my vehicle parked down the street, put the stroller and bags away and carried my baby into the store.

While the items in the store are lovely and charming, I can say that the customer service is anything but with signs plastered on the door saying “no food and drink” and “no taking pictures of items”. Not a friendly, welcoming or accessible environment to say the least. I understand wanting to protect your business and inventory but this place is over the top.

My own opinion is that the prices are pretty outrageous as well, unless you’re looking to really splurge on some home decor. For myself, my money is better spent elsewhere where myself and my baby are welcomed.

Yes, Finishing Touches, you can certainly do better.

What a BEAUTIFUL store, I love to walk around this store whenever I get the chance it truly is so stunning in there, they’ve set it up where it almost feels like a museum, so much thought into their styling of everything it’s exquisite! The staff were so kind and didn’t pressure me to buy anything (which i appreciate) and yes it’s a bit expensive but it’s well crafted decor. It’s meant to be treasured for years to come you don’t have to furnish your whole house in a single visit. I love this store and love bringing my friends to check it out whenever I can!

I cannot say enough about the staff in the store! They always know what they’re talking about they’re always willing to help and they’re so kind and their things are so so beautiful. Everything is very quality and different and unique. I love love the store.

Onenof the best places to get unique home decor! Their stock during Halloween and Christmas is so amazing!

So I picked up a kitchen necessity (albeit cute) and although it was labelled $14.95, I was charged $16.95. I looked a bit strange when I got the bill, thinking my god has tax gotten that high, but no the item had been billed $ 16.95 and the owner had of course put the ticket in the garbage ASAP assuming as always that this was a gift and I would not notice$2 difference. My friend calls this place "Rip Off Merchants" and I used to laugh but I don't now.

I normally do not make time to do reviews however today I had to share my experiance I had with this stunning corner store in the heart of old downtown Okotoks
I was just talking to the owner, I could easily tell she loves her store and her patrones.yes, she even takes time for you.now there's an art, taking time to converse with strangers, so hard to find these days.
With her help I purchased a couple of beautiful things.
I love shopping in Okotoks this community is awesome and this lady is one of many great example as to why. What a beautiful store! Amazing selection of unique, affordable quality items.
I can sence the deep thought and consideration that went into purchasing each of them by the proprietor.

This is like heaven on earth! Amazing home decor items. Unique! And the service is exceptional. They are so helpful and patient! Family business. They get it!

I've been in multiple times, the owner has been rude multiple times. Today I let my children smell the candles to keep them from touching breakables and was told that the toy store was across the street. Had my children broken anything I would have rightfully compensated. I will not be shopping there again although I didn't get the impression she cared

We recently moved to DeWinton and its a highlight for me to come to this store when I have time to shop! I needed help doing all of our Fall decorating for our new home, and the owner was extremely helpful, patient, creative and I loved the results. I have to mention, I had my 4 year old son with me, who was hungry - she went to the back, got him her yogurt and sat him on the counter while she helped me shop, she was so sweet! I also recently had her daughter from the Calgary store do all of the Christmas decorating for my salons, and I was so impressed. I love supporting a local business, and these ladies choose the most beautiful, cute unique, quality items that I love having throughout my home. Its not cheap, so dont go here if thats what your after, it is quality, well curated and I appreciate the effort they make to have a beautiful store.
