Fire Escape

Had a fantastic time at this place.the staff were really friendly, and they have a great selection of art supplies.the atmosphere was very inviting:) overall, a wonderful experience!

My daughter (8) and I came in for the first time. We have painted at other places and in fact I have worked for a company just like this before. I can assure you to save your money and try a different place. I was completely shocked at how underwhelming this place was! Especially with the reviews…. Unorganized, no prices, lack of help, rude, supplies dirty and all the chips they sell are expired.
The groupon should read sitting fee not covered and if you have a child with you, you will pay for adult pricing to get your own supplies. (Because “they will lose money if they charge anything less”
To top it all off I came to pick up our pieces (my daughter made a piggy bank) and they didn’t even have the stopper for the bottom of the bank! They tried cutting a huge one to make it fit. It looked horrible and was a gift, just totally unacceptable especially after you already paid for it. The only person willing to accept responsibility and try to fix the situation took the bank to the back and drilled a larger hole to add the bigger stopper. This took 30 mins of me just standing there after driving across the city to come get the pieces. Maybe they should call or message the customer when all of it is complete and all the pieces are ready to go. Like I said before, I have worked at a place like this many years ago and it was by far superior than this place. We bought more than one groupon and I can assure you I won’t be back to use it! Highly recommend going to color me mine instead. Much better quality and experience.

What an amazing experience! Took my kids there with a Groupon to try something new that they've never done before and they loved it! There is so much more than just throwing Clay on a wheel or painting a cast, they do so much for other people and organizations. The finished pieces look amazing!

Fantastic experience! Did the pottery wheel session with Kate and had a blast. She was amazing at explaining everything without making it too complicated for my husband and I (total beginners). We both ended up with two pieces we were proud of and are keen to go back and make more! Shocked at the quality of instruction and the overall experience for such a reasonable price. Would highly recommend for a fun date night, birthday, or just to try something new. You won't be disappointed!

It was fine until we got them back they were handled with no care at all smudges, fingerprints, pieces chipped off, paint missing, on ALL my family very disappointed and we’ve been to other places before and they did not turn out like this

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! Highly recommend to come here and paint pottery! Friendly staff and owner, paint is non chemical and washes off hands and clothing if you get ‘em messy! Environment is so friendly and so welcoming, different style of utensils to use, 1: 1 sessions for wheel pottery, and affordable/reasonable prices on pottery ready to paint! Seatings is main lobby & upstairs! I had my first time wheel session with Fire Escape, and let me tell you how much fun it was to make something that you did! It’s $35 per person, which includes instructor, material & kiln service. (You can find more details on their website and social media!) after I had finished my wheel session, I made a bowl and a mug, which I then went on to doing some painting, along with my friend! This bowl, I traced the outline in sharpie, then used a puffy paint to trace back the outline and fill in the parts that needed it’s colour! At first the colour will not look like the one you picked, but don’t worry! It’s going to turn out wonderful! After 2 and more so hours (everyone’s painting varies!) it was ready to be fired up in the kiln! It takes around 2 or so weeks until your pottery is ready to be picked up! I definitely will keep coming here to paint, thank you so much for the experience that I learnt from here!
