Overall it's nice place BUT, ignorant truckers park where ever they want. Today 0615 Manger had to get 5 trucks to move in center lane so I could leave. The entrance to parking area off the street completely blocked by 9 trucks. Why would you need access fir emergency vehicles? Truck on fire? Too bad. Having heart attack? To bad. Someone needs to constantly tell these idiots to move.
Worst manager, worst ever evening staff and worst ever washrooms. Asked manager Karan and evening staff Noor to improve or restore original Flying J values, but refuse to engage or refuse to provide minimum public safety and health concerns. Rest in peace Flying J Sherwood Park!
Nice spot shower are clean store is clean if spending a reset or a layover might as well eat that timmies or Mc d across the road or there a sandwich shop just south of the j walking distance. Besides that it's a Denny's
Now Calgary (Barlow trail) needs to learn from this location. Staff is very friendly and Gerry who works at Shearwood Park is a super nice and definitely a big help, There pizza is cooked properly (they use a air pan) so pizza isn't soggy. Very good job to all staff at this location. Great work, keep it up and thank you.
Good place to shower and freshen up but good luck finding may parking here… always full and cramped in park at the ESSO across the street you can walk over to shower then.
We don't need a whole back row to be reserved parking, we just need a place to park! Other than that it is a decent location with fair services. Watch the blind corners, especially at night.
Was in there yesterday - nothing but good words for Flying J. Detergent and long handles for RV window washing, they had free mask for me (forgot to supply RV), and were generally very friendly and helpful as I filled the RV up, dumped the winter antifreeze from the black/Grey tanks, and weighed it.
I'm not a professional driver, but is stopped here for a shower. The staff were friendly, and the shower was clean. They have large bags of ice for a good price which is nice.
This is a stop that many driver's I know including myself stop at because we enjoy the perks that Flying J offers to drivers such as rewards, clean showers wifi and often much more depending g on location. Now I very rarely rate a business this low BUT I am yet to see them improve on issues that I know personally have been brought to their attention. And to not only the location itself but corporate Flying J. Such as many many dropped trailers on a regular basis! This is beyond frustrating when we show up I the middle of the day, choose to buy fuel here for parking and amenities instead of going to a cheaper option and then still struggle to find adequate parking.
Shame on the Mess! Shame on the drivers using this as their personal yard
Shame on Flying J! From reading other reviews clearly this issue has been going on for a very long time.
Overall great place.only drawback is they allow bobtail to park wherever they want. 1 bobtail per spot used for truck and trailer.so us pulling trailers have to either park farthest away or move on somewhere else.sorry j your losing business.
Late April 2021, just had a manager try to double charge me, said he couldn't show me the receipt. When I came back to return items I had purchased a few minutes earlier, he did say the payment did go through, but was not enough. I challenged his actions only to be gas lit because I was not cooperating. Professional Theft right there.
I'm quite dismayed at the drop in service level at this location lately. I used to enjoy the showers and the people but last not my shower was covered in black hairs and this morning, the woman behind the counter was downright nasty
Burgers were burnt. Fries were rubbery. Overall not good. Ordered a poutine only came with tablespoon of gravy. Curds that wouldn't melt. 2nd burger was flatter. Egg not cooked properly. Hash browns undercooked. Waitress was amazing though
This place is always full. Drivers park their trucks and trailers then leave. Also drivers parking in handicapped parking without plact cards these ppl should be towed. Hate this place. Going to the Petro instead
Ate at the Denny's, its road food, but the hamburger was cooked well and the side of the salad was fresh. It was a bit expensive for an avocado bacon burger, but glad the salad was large. Huge truck lot and lots of parking with quite a few close handicap parking. Hiway is close but not bad for being quiet at night.
It's a standard "j". Bit more product.nice drivers lounge (which is blocked off atm) Denny's staff is great. Tim Hortons and McDonald's short walks away. Big parking lot - which isn't big enough if your trying to get in after eight pm but large nonetheless Quite quiet
Very clean flying j in and out. Superfast customer service, very well stocked. Lots of new faces with good knowledge and they are fast. Great experience overall.
Great service and they have everything and more within the store I'm not a truck driver but whenever I drive past the Flying J I make sure I stop they have such beautiful sectional of things in their store
Not very happy. Never enough staff on the desk. Laundry machines were all broken when I need them. Def fluid on fuel island is always frozen and won't work and forced to buy bottle type and twice the price. Several pumps were broken or froze up and card readers buttons not working or damaged. Garbage is currently over flowing on fuel island in a few pumps not all of them. But this is typical at almost all location north of I70 Canada included. Laundry machines broken not usual though.
I almost got dragged out of the shower that i reserved online, because i didn't enter the code i was provided online. My fault and i apologized. Also, please don't leave the shower doors open as it easily leads to confusions. Instead of checking their system logs and matching them with the details i provided, house keeping staff and another lady preferred to create a drama, blamed me for lying and not rushing out while i was just re dressing. Seriously, all this without doing any investigation. Before i entered in trucking, spent six years working in hospitality industry in different countries. Could have been handled in a much better way.
They had the worst service for propane. Asked for propane for our RV and 2) tanks, twice. 1st time when we got there, then 15 min later. We were told both times someone would be right out. Even tried their phone line for propane service. No one answered. Ended up waiting for a whopping 30 minutes, before we finally just left. Will never return again.
Good and bad. Cardlock pumps frequently don't work, but the staff are friendly, even when they try to double charge you for items bought in the store. Don't try parking there after 4pm if you want to park overnight, but if you live in town just stop wherever you want in the lot and go home because nobody cares. But there is a Timmies nearby.
Top not service. Attendants were great, and the showers clean. If the hobo river lifestyle has got you down then I recommend popping in for a quick shower. After a few days of living by the river I really needed a shower and had great one here. Lots of water pressure, large room. You have to bring your own shampoo and conditioner but there is soap.
Only 2 hour parking limit for noncommercial vehicles. If you're going to label as a travel center should be able to rest up after a long drive. Also, service slow and staff was grumpy
