As amazing as the staff are, I just spent a few days in post surgical care in a hospital room built in the 60's that stays at +30c or more and cannot be controlled, that was the size of a closet with barely room for 2 beds, where the 4 person shared bathrooms smell like those in a 1 star Mexican hotel, where it is an uber ride distance between necessary departments that have been randomly placed over the years with no apparent foresight, where medical decisions are not communicated properly to staff, where there is inadequate parking forcing patients checking in at -35c to walk long distances exposed to the elements, where hurry up and then wait in the corridors is the norm, and instead of concentrating on recovery, one's only focus is on "how can I get the heck out of here? " I don't care which level of government is "responsible" for funding, this is shameful in a country that can give billions of dollars every year to other countries with no regard for the people whose money that is.

Please tell your staff to be careful when lifting patients in and out of bed slings and wheelchairs. So the patient doesn’t fall out.

I had surgery here at the end of October 2023, everyone from the minute I checked in were absolutely wonderful. Awfully nice people work there, made me feel so comfortable and at ease.

Best hospital in the calgary. Staffs and doctors are very cooperative, helpful and caring. I have personal experience with Lindsay Burnett, she is very good and very caring, she helps me with my recovery. She is awesome and best. Also Dr. Gabriel and Dr. Brown are best the doctors.

I've been here for about four days now and I can honestly say it's been as positive an experience as it could be.

All the nurses, porters, attendings and food services people are lovely hardworking people that do their best to ensure you're comfortable.

The apheresis/neouro people are friendly, professional and kind.

Considering I'm stuck here for at least two weeks it means a lot to know that my stay will be as comfortable, safe and low-stress as it can be.

We were really positively impressed with baby delivery unit and personal. Great performance, friendly staff and high level of professionalism.

This is the best hospital besides Peter Lougheed. It's slow but the staff are well organized it may take longer but it's worth it.

0 stars. Emotional distress due to negligence. If I can sue, it will be happening. NEVER trust this hospital.

TheDoctors are older, smarter, seriously cares about your well being, &over all health problems issue"" ** never mine, what the paper say, _ how do you feel sir? ** the environment is much better, not like peterlouge ER, Peter is full of india, India are very rude people. And noisy family calls.

I waited for 3.5 hours, and asked them how long I have to wait, they told me someone wait for 5 hours …. So that’s mean my 3.5 waiting time is nothing…. Disappointing for this excuse, it’s not fair for the people wait for 5 hours….

Honestly, I don't know where to start. I got airlifted to this hospital for a neck surgery, and I got the best of care here. The ground and the air ambulance guys were amazing, the nurses genuinely took care of me before the surgery despite being super busy. Megan, Rachel and Edward really cared for me in unit 31. Dr. Newton is an excellent surgeon, the reassurance you gave before the surgery really helped. Thanks to Dr Fadden, Dr Chris and Dr Shawn for helping me through the whole process. The recovery unit nurse was amazing too. And to all the other medical staff who took care of me, including the food service, I really appreciate your help.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of you that took care of me during my almost a week staying at Unit 41A room 426, from the day I was accepted to the day I left the hospital. You were all kind, respectful, professional, knowledgeable and ready to help me with every single demand I had during my staying and I couldn't go through this process without your help. I don't want to name all of you here because I want you all to feel included in this review, from the persons that cleaned my room to the person that answered my calls, especially all the nurses and aides that were attending me non stop every time I had an issue. You were all smiling under your masks (I could see your eyes smiling too!) and the professionalism was unparalleled. Thank you all! May life give you back what you have given me, doubled!

On Friday July 14,23, I took my mom to FMC Emergency, beside waiting frim 8pm to 5 am July15, not seeing doctors eventually, there was a male unit clerk in green scrub, between 2-5 am july 15 in ER he was so rude and nervous, I asked him about our wait time, after 8 hours, he shouted me and called me HEY in the middle of the hallway with a loud voice saying that I am accusing him, and he is working night shift!
This your job you don’t like it, you are not patient with a sick one, quit! You are not a nurse or doctor you don’t have to work in hospital, if you are tired of working night shifts.you can’t talk to patients like this… I will complain to their manager as well

Amazing medical staff and service.
My appendix burst, and they were absolutely fantastic!
Thank you

Emergency nurses are so ignorant. They don’t have a bit of respect or sympathy for in pain patients.no humanity, no respect and no responsibility. I almost lost my dad. My dad, with heart disease, was sitting on the floor sweating in pain and the nurse was telling him in a harsh voice not to sit on the floor. He was in such a terrible pain that he couldn’t move or talk and the nurse is worried about the rules without any single help! Terrible

Dealing with Mandie Durant in the south tower hostel is as fun as pulling teeth. Unhelpful, unkind and a surprisingly bad attitude.

I went into the Chapel to do a private prayer. Since when is a Chapel a lunchroom for hospital staff. Not only could I not do my prayer without an audience, but one was humming away and playing on her phone. I got up and left due to the lunchroom atmosphere.

Came to the ER with a pretty severe injury. It’s been 10 hours without treatment. The staff has been talking to each other more than doing their jobs. Extremely upset and disappointed.

Amazing Staff all around but an extra shout out to the NICU unit and the unbelievable level of care in there!

What an awful experience. I went in for a procedure in radiology. I live in hospitals. I have a disability so it's relatively normal for me. But I've never come across a more in-human group of people. They used a instrument on me that was way too large for my anatomy. When I tried to explain my disability would make the procedure more difficult, I was not acknowledged. They caused me way more pain then necessary. The assembly line type fashion was completely unnecessary. In and out with no real authentic kindness.

I had a major neck surgery done. June 6th. I was in recovery by like 5pm that day and then discharged less than 24 hours later.
1. I swear the staff were soo overworked. They were all incredibly friendly though
2. I shared a room with 3 other people and bathroom with an additional 4 other people (that kinda sucked). It was hard to navigate my IV machine in between other people's stuff to get to the bathroom.
3. I assumed I would have been admitted longer. I'm from Medicine Hat and I didn't think I would have been let go that early since just after having a baby I spent 3 days in the hospital.
4. The Surgeon Dr. Hart was amazing. He's knowledgeable and friendly. Just sucked I didn't get a chance to speak with him before leaving the city.
In all honestly it wasn't bad.

Went to Emerge with a swelling finger. Staff were kind and helpful. I was provided a solution and relief quickly, the nurse was kind and firm handed, the Dr had a lovely manner and solid advice. **They are still wearing masks, bring your own for comfort **

This hospital is not the most beautiful aesthetically speaking and is badly in need of a modernization. However the staff at this institution from the doctors, nurses, physical therapists, social workers, to the cleaning staff, are second to none. They are some of the nicest, most understanding individuals that make the very scary and complicated healthcare experience one that is easier to navigate. I feel very fortunate to have this hospital in my own city and have constantly impressed at the level of care offered in at this hospital.

Went to emergency this morning due to numbness and tingling in my right arm. After over 5 hours a doctor saw me, wait time is what I expected as I realize there are more urgent medical needs.
The doctor that saw me didn’t even listen to my concerns. Had a response in his head before even coming to the bedside. Mentioned X-rays wouldn’t show degeneration. I said ok but when I had an MRI done there was nothing showing there for degeneration, only in my L4, L5 and S1. He responded with a well x-rays won’t show it. I said I didn’t say x-ray and he shrugged.
He recommended Naproxen as an anti inflammatory, which I told him I’ve been on for a month and it doesn’t do anything. Went to his computer and said oh you had a prescription for it filled 2 days ago. My last prescription for it was not two days ago, but May 16th and I don’t have any left. I said it wasn’t 2 days ago and he said ok maybe 4. Being that it’s June 7th that’s clearly more than 4 days ago.
So I’m supposed to take an anti inflammatory that I don’t have, that I tried explaining hasn’t helped with the neck pain anyways but that seemed to be irrelevant.
Numbness and tingling have only been happening last 2 days and at times I can’t even hold a pen. Pain is constant and makes sleep difficult.
But evidently it’s just a flared up muscle, which brings me back to the degeneration comments. If it was just a flared up muscle why mention degeneration? I have tried massage, was given various stretches and have tried soaking in a hot tub to help. Nothing has given me relief.
The doctor Matthew (didn’t remember his last name as it was a more unique last name) didn’t listen to me and basically wrote me off before he even spoke to me. Made the waiting to be seen for over 5 hours be for nothing. Been debating what I can do now as who knows what he’s written in my chart.

This hospital is the best hospital that I have been to in years. Everyone is so nice and very helpful. They took care of all my medical needs in a timely manner. A big shout out to Leo Hugs. You ever get lost track him down on the ground floor he is AMAZING!

Foothills Medical Centre is great. But there isn't much security. Anyone could walk into the hospital and go to any floor with the elevator. Though there is a security check in at wards like labor and delivery and postpartum. I went there with my mom as a birth partner. The switch from the labor to postpartum is depressing as postpartum only has shared rooms and barely any windows.
