Forest Park Hotel

Attention and location are great, bad things are extremely noisy, kids running on the hallways and the corridors are extremely lit and light gets in the room.

Stayed for 2 nights while on a coach tour of the Canadian Rockies. The rooms were numbered in a bizarre way. It was a bit of a maze to be honest. The rooms were absolutely fabulous. We had a balcony which provided chairs and views of the mountains. There was even a kitchenette. Full size cooker, small dishwasher, fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle and coffee machine. Pans, crockery and utensils enough for 4 people. Lovely and clean. The shower was huge. There was a restaurant and a smaller dining room for breakfast. The staff were pleasant. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of town on the main road. If you wanted a shop for general stuff, it would take about 20 minutes to walk, (unless you've got legs like a Giraffe and it would take ten). There is a Starbucks and a couple of bar/restaurants within a 5 minute walk. A lovely stay. Thank you.

Clean, but not particularly accommodating for $400 Cn a night…. Large atrium lobby, with loads of tables and chairs. Only problem is virtually all of those tables and chairs are In restaurants and not available if one needs a place just to sit, drink some water or just relax. One coffee table, 4 chairs. Not even any tables in the pool area. We asked to use a table in an empty restaurant area at 7 in the evening and were refused. They told us to try across a parking area in another building.

Good value for money paid. Loved the theme. My daughter had her first burning marshmallow experience here. Located less than 1km from the Jasper city centre.

This hotel is just okay. One of the biggest drawbacks was the temperature of the room! Being the whole hotel was built with basically a greenhouse of a roof, I should've known. When we arrived, our room was hot, okay, no problem we will just turn the temp down. Well, the air conditioner wouldn't go any lower, the room was easily 75°, but the thermostat claimed it was cooler. We contacted the front desk and they looked it and said it was fine, however we continued to sweat all night. After a full day of hiking in hot weather all we wanted was a good night of sleep which is hard to do when your room won't cool down. Wouldn't come back for this reason alone.

Beautiful building with horrible human management. When we arrived at 17.30 one of the 2 rooms was not ready. At breakfast they charge you separately for hot milk, amazing. And the most serious of all: we have been freezing in the rooms the 2 nights, because they have not been able to repair it and they could not simply turn off the air conditioning, it has been amazing so much clumsiness. In Spain, a hotel with air conditioning on 24 hours is simply impossible. It is unfortunate that in a Natural environment so much energy inefficiency is allowed. The reception staff are serious, unfriendly, it is the first time that when checking out they do not ask me how was the stay.perhaps they already knew the answer.

Had high hopes as the hotel is huge and interior is beautiful. The rooms and service were a let down for the price (visited in August, during peak season). The hotel encourages the use of self check in machines which is efficient.but our keys didn't work. The front desk changed it out but didn't even ask for verification - I could have obtained keys for any room. The room itself had a foul odor and the AC was horrendously loud. Not what one would expect from a 4-star hotel. During peak season, save your money and go camping instead.

I felt like I'd stepped back into a hotel from the 80's. It's very dated and worn. We had 2 double sized beds in our room, so were squeezed together in the bed, on a saggy mattress. The air conditioner was loud. I couldn't figure out how to even switch on the shower, so had to get my husband to do it. The hair dryer was broken. It's a long way out of town.
The highlight for me was getting a take away pizza, which was good, from the restaurant and sitting by the fire out the front, and meeting other travellers.

I don't know where the uploaded images are from, but they definitely don't reflect the actual experience. The hotel is aged and dirty as well as the dark and depressing rooms. The walls are also very thin, making sounds of the neighbours audible which is very annoying at night. The restaurant is nothing to write home about and the buffet breakfast is quite good. The staff is friendly and helpful. Not worth the price!

We really liked the room and the free parking and where the hotel is. It's totally walkable to Jasper, the lobby looks nice. Unfortunately, I would never stay there again. When we arrived, our room was prepaid via a travel agency. They told us they would block 750$ as a security deposit. I thought it was a huge amount, but I have place on my credit card so I was like "Ok sure, we are a bit young, it's a long weekend, we have a very nice room, they wanna back themselves whatever". When leaving the hotel, I realized they didn't charge me 750$, they charged me 1058$! That is absurd, it's the price of 2 nights. My travel agent called the hotel to make sure they didn't charge us our stay again by accident, but they really said it was a deposit. It ruined the rest of my stay in the Rockies because I couldn't use my credit card as it takes almost my entire limit and we had to rely on my boyfriend's card, which means on top of that I lost plenty of opportunity to make points on my credit card. They told me 3-5 business days to get it back. Tomorrow will be the 6th business day and I hope I get my money back. This is very disrespectful of your guests: (

Room in the alpine section are top clean and calm. The employees are kind and helpful. A bit far from the center town to walk but that was perfect for us since center town is too crowded. Fitness center could be better. Would come back again!

This is the cheapest reasonable hotel in Jasper. We stayed one night. The rooms are basic, utilitarian. They have one washer/dryer, not enough for what looks like 200 small children,

I was catfished. The room I was given was not the reservation I booked for. The reservation I paid for was well over 550 a night-that price point shows large rooms with great views. Their website shows new luxurious open spaces rooms and I got a room on the first floor of the old building with a view of the parking lot. I asked to see the room and then inquired with the manager about paying the additional fees for an upgrade to the newer building their only question was how long I was staying-when I said one night they didn’t even look to see what’s available-they just refused to allow me to pay for the upgrade and stuck me and my family in a cramped old room.

2 kms away from city center.you will need car for everything.
Entire hotel had a stink of chlorine because of indoor open pool.
Rooms it self was good. Although washroom was all cracked and shower was almost 60 years old with manual mixing of hot and cold water.
Service was good no complaints.
In house Restaurant was ok as well.

We stayed in the new rooms and they were fantastic, the fit and finish and quality of white goods and bathroom fixtures is luxury level (I really like Symmons fixtures and it makes other hotels seem quite ordinary). Beds also great as was the presentation of the entire building. The sustainability of using local products was noted.

Based on other reviews I think this hotel is highly underrated or perhaps many reviews are of the older rooms, I don’t know but ours was excellent, I HIGHLY recommend you stay here. Kitchenettes are great and the pool and gym also suited our needs. It’s an easy flat walk to all the main shops or you can jog the other direction into nature.
Room service was extremely efficient and answered any queries before the phone even rang twice. We’ll done.

Hôtel très sympa. Check-in automatique très pratique comme il y avait une bonne file d’attente.
Chambres modernes, déco générale sympa, coin piscine/spa/jacuzzi vraiment bien.
Le restaurant était aussi bien mais avec l’achalandage il pouvait y avoir de l’attente.
Un tout petit loin du centre de Jasper mais le global était très bien!

The bad first: the posted pictures on the listings for this hotel are of their newly built addition. These rooms are more expensive.

The hot tub had so much choline in it, that I couldn’t stay in it for long. My eyes started to hurt.

The good - the hotel is tucked away at the edge of Jasper, which is nice. The rooms are all along the outside (the original building) of the atrium. The pool and hot tub are at the back with dining options near the front. Lots of greenery and places to sit.

Staff were friendly. There is coffee available in the lobby with fresh drinking water as well. I always appreciate this as I’m an early riser and this allows me to get coffee without waking up my partner.

We brought our dog with us and the pet fee is very reasonable at $25/night. Very nice to have this available and this was a large reason as to why we chose to stay here.

The interior is nicer than what the exterior looks like.

Overall, i am giving this 4 stars because the pictures are misleading - indicating that these brand new rooms are what they all look like. They are not.

Not sure what to say, it's not a bad hotel at all, it's not brilliant though. Some rooms are round an internal pool which must be noisy if you have kids in there. Luckily we had a room with a view of the car park! It's right at the end of Jasper which is fine, but you need to be prepared to walk for dinner.it is great though for getting around in Jasper National Park, easy to navigate onto the main highways and we even saw Deer roaming around the grounds.

Rooms, at least ours, was clean with the exception of corn flakes on the night table. That's why we carry clorox wipes with us. Wiped the room down to sanitize it. As for the fitness room, it gets a 2 star out of 5. Do not believe the photos. Better gyms in downtown Chicago. Floors ripped up with holes and holes in weight benches. NOT clean at all.

Stay literally anywhere else if you can- i booked my family a night here for well over 500 per night and the advertised photos for that price rate did NOT represent the reality of what you get. We were put in the smallest room on the first level with a view of the parking lot. Everywhere i walked in that hotel i smelted chlorine-the pool is inside the building adjacent to the lounge area-not the best placement for either amenity to be honest. The restaurant connected to the hotel has the most limited menu I’ve ever seen- my husband and i went to the nook in the fairmont instead- it was by far the best. When we asked about an upgrade of which we were happy to pay any fees for such they refused after noting we were staying one night. They didnt even look at the availability. Should i of lied and said multiple nights in order to get an upgrade? Not sure but i hope others can take this and avoid the slap in the face i got.

Nice room in the annexe with two big beds and a nice little terrace overlooking the street and the freight traffic, very clean, nice bathroom. The location on the outskirts is fine. The pool itself is nice, especially for the children again a change. The only point of criticism is the changing and shower area - very old, not in good condition and not exactly clean, you don't even want to change clothes there. Otherwise the hotel is recommended.

Very over priced. Pool and hot tub down for our 2 night stay. The bed was not comfortable. Restaurant food was not great. Staff was excellent.

A renovated MOTEL. Terrible rooms with horrible smell. I chocked all night by the disgusting smell and couldn’t sleep. Everything is under qualified here, don’t be fooled by the pictures.
