Beautiful clean lake and a great spot for a day trip. Some of the campsites are not particularly private, and the boat launch is covered in sand. Also no wharf for helping with boat launching, so the launch fee seems quite high considering the amenities.

The office worker was very rude, we’ve never stayed at this campground before and we will not return based solely on how she treated my husband and I. It’s a beautiful campground so it’s pretty disappointing having staff, especially a manager, treat guests that way.

Nice campground. Paved except last few km in but good gravol road. Beach is nice, water great for swimming, fishing, floating. The outhouses were clean, cleanest ive ever seen. Cute little store at the office. Kids especially liked to swim to the floating dock & play at the park. Was our first trip there, definitely would go back.

Beautiful campground, fantastic lake, but terrible and arrogant manager.
All the bad reviews in Jackie’s regard are very accurate. Most of the good reviews, were written by her few “favourite” seasonal campers; the only folks she is pleasant to within the park. The previous recent long review was as such.
Checking in is not a welcoming experience. You will be talked down to and scolded for the 101 rules she has for you. (While you are hearing it, remember this review). It’s not a “family fun” camping experience. You will feel like you have just arrived at a military camp. If you tell her that you have heard her spew before, she will intentionally start over in an arrogant manner.
Some campers are judged upon arrival. If she thinks you are going to be trouble, you will see her constantly driving by your campsite. It’s not to be friendly. She is having a look around.
If you find that your original reservation site has been moved to another site upon arrival, she moved you to accommodate another camper. It doesn’t matter if you scoped that site out last year. She decides, and says the county supports whatever she does.
When the phone rings, her eyes roll.
When a young camper checks in, her eyes glare. When the lucky runs dry - run.

Our experience at Forfar was nothing short of enchanting! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the picturesque setting that greeted us – with Jackie's charming garden, spotless outhouses, and a truly stunning lake. The friendly atmosphere matched perfectly with the inviting beach and crystal-clear waters. It's an ideal spot for SUP, picnics, and swimming.

We can't express how grateful we are to have stumbled upon this hidden gem near the city. It not only met but exceeded our expectations, boasting a sandy beach and pristine water that's simply awe-inspiring. If you're on the hunt for peace and tranquility, this is the ultimate destination.

For us, Forfar has become a beloved family favorite. The spacious sites, impeccable facilities, and the warm management team make it stand out. The grounds and beaches are beautifully maintained, creating an oasis of serenity. Kudos to the hosts – Jackie and Ron – who truly enhance the magic of this place. (Although Jackie playfully credits the mystifying loons for the enchantment!)

This year marked our second seasonal camping adventure at Forfar, and we're already counting down to the next. Of course, our return hinges on the presence of Jackie and Ron, as we can't fathom experiencing this haven without their care. Don't miss out on this peaceful haven – it's a destination that will leave you yearning for more.

Very nice/clean beach. Water was nice. Very busy, had to park outside the gates. Next time we will bring the dogs, as we found out dogs are allowed in the water, just not in the beach area. Great place to enjoy scuba diving, have a picnic, or go for a swim! Never seen the camping stalls, but I'm sure they are above average aswell.

We had a magic day kayaking on Forfar. The lady who man’s it in summer, plants the most beautiful flowers all around the front shop. It is a clean lake and very popular in this area. You need to book well in advance for a a campsite. Nice camping spot and well treed.

On Aug 5,2023 I came to visit my family that Lives quite close to the lake even though it was about 2000hrs my ant, cousin, nephews and nieces all wanted to go for a Quick boat ride so they suggested this lake. I have never been to this lake. When we arrived we were in two separate vehicles an they were let in immediately with no question but when I came to the gate I was stopped. I was not aware how the process worked. I waited at the gate to try to contact my family to ask them how to get in because I did not see anyone at the gate. I then was yelled ya from someone at the building quite rudely. When I went to the building I spoke with an older gentleman that treated me like I was out to cause A disturbance at the campsite. When I paid the toll to get in he stated that if I was not out by 11 I would have to sleep in my boat in a very ignorant manner. I am a family man with a three year old daughter in the back of my truck I came to decompress from my high stress job and to be treated like garbage by this gentleman.

Stayed here for a night after being recommended by a few people. It is a beautiful spot with very clear water, and would be a great camp spot for kids. However, the online registration changed our chosen spot, thankfully it was still available but still a bit of a hassle. The woman in the front office completely put a damper on the trip right off the bat. I understand there are rules to follow but she was beyond unpleasant when explaining them all. Not sure why so hostile right off the bat. Also made it sound like there was no place for dogs to go down to the water or anything, and Never heard any options about firewood. Also the online registration changed the site we chose, thankfully it was still open. The following day, the older gentlemen running the John Deere was VERY pleasant and kind of made up for the woman. He explained we could take our dog down to the water just not on the beach, fair enough, would have been nice to know the night before not just before we were leaving but oh well. The woman was nicer when we were leaving but first impression stuck and it was uncomfortable. Overall he made it less of a “right off” of a place.

Friends and I were camping near by and decided to take a day trip to the lake and beach. We were very impressed with the facilities and especially the beach and water. The staff were very friendly and the beach and water were amazing. We would for sure come camping here next time.

Clean lake and campground. It was very quiet. The staff are very friendly and nice. The little treat store is great for the kids. Less a star as water well was out of service. Website states they have water available to fill. When we arrived and found out there was no water, they said they could deliver water to us for a $25 charge. Really appreciate they could get us the water but feel they should update their website or let campers know beforehand so we could have filled it. The wells have been down for some time.you can tell from the faded caution tape wrapped around them. We would definitely go back again.

Drove 1.5 hours to have a look, would only let me be in the park for 10 min, mind you they were not open for camping yet (10 days early) - I never book what I cannot look at - with a 10 min restriction we could not see much - but thanks anyway!
