Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital

Was recently there for a colonoscopy. I found the staff to be very caring and helpful. The doctor was amazing.

Today, we visited for my mother initial cataract surgery, and I was impressed by the exceptional friendliness and professionalism of the staff. The procedure went smoothly and quickly, making me appreciate this facility even more. I'd like to extend my gratitude to all the nurses, with a special thank you to Rita.

Don't go unless you take all your meds. Remember that when you go by ambulance. Keep your opinions to yourself, even when they don't know how to put on an aircast on you and send you home. I had to go on u tube to install it myself as I was painful. I sat in emerg and told them I diabetic. They obviously don't think its serious that you don't get fed or get your time sensitive meds at a certain time. After a week and two days I was told to go back to the hospital and get a proper cast on by my GP. I get into the hospital. Didn't take long to get into a room. Now I wait 2 hours. I got up and went to the desk. I asked if I could be looked after before 7 pm as I have to take care of diabetes and eat dinner. She we don't know. I said why. She said we could be getting busier with someone worse then someone who just wants their cast changed. The front nurse said I have a lot of nerve asking. Then said I'm sorry we even saved your life with the lung transplant. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT HOSPITAL AGAIN.

You'd sooner die waiting that get any help in this emergency, 5.5h and still waiting.

Been waiting for 5 hrs, asked to speak with Charge nurse as she decides who gets in, refuses to talk to me, this place is a joke, I'll drive to the next town over tomorrow and try my luck there. Unfortunate considering I live in the Fort. NEVER coming here again. AVOID THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL COSTS!

I would rather die on a street then return to this hospital. I had a couple staff (Jesse and Jessica) that were amazing. Then there is the nurses that you ask for help with simple things.less than 24 hours post op and I was told I was not ready to get up and walk around on my own. So I requested some help to the washroom. I was told they were doing shift change and I would have to wait. It was almost an hour before I saw a nurse and she hadn't been told of my request. Instead I was there in my own urine. I even had time to change my.bed by myself while waiting.

It's now 48 hours post op. They removed my Iv today and rook my morphine away and sent me home with tylenol and advil. I've let them know over and over I didn't feel comfortable going home alone with 2 kids and climbing 45 stairs to my unit. I have yet to make it to the bathroom without help or an accident. They told me they needed the bed so get dressed and leave now.they have notices that discharge is between 8 am and 10 am.thia was at 4 pm. They also said if I can't arrange my drive asap I can go sit in the lobby and wait till I do arrange something.

As I sit here during post partum after having my baby, I just really wanted to brag about all the sweet nurses, and Dr. Adele (spelling might be off!) for their patience and kindness shown to me throughout my entire stay. I hardly had to even ask for anything, as they stayed on top of my care before, during, and after delivering. I am SO happy to have come here to receive care for my first baby.

Went to this hospital for my hernia surgery, all the stuff was very very friendly, hospital was clean

Wait times are AWFUL as is the staff working the night I waited 6+h and not seen once. Super disappointed with our healthcare system.

This hospital is a joke.
Cut my thumb open and I’ve been sitting here bleeding changing the wrap for 4 hours now. No point in even coming they ain’t even going help you with your problems.

Worst hospital ive ever been to, went in with severe chest pain and waited over 5 hours to be seen while kids with sore throats went ahead of me. Never had a trip to this hospital that was under 6 hours total wait time, and this is when there are few to no other patients waiting in the triage. If i could give a 0 star review i would.

This hospital is by far the best hospital I have ever been too, went in Jan 17th for hysterectomy & then 8 hours later I was back in the OR as I was internally bleeding inside lost to much blood so needed a blood transfusion my organs and body was starting to shut down as I lost a lot of blood and I have never seen so many nurses and doctors in my room that actually cared about their patients. I was in and out of the hospital for almost a month they saved my life best hospital ever!

The nurses in that hospital are wonderful, each and every one of them. If I ever had to get another surgery I would definitely go their. Thank you for everything you guys have done for me their.

I’d give it a 0 stars. I’ve come when the wait time says 30min or 1 hr online and waited 9hrs at the end. This happened to my husband, my newborn and myself several times. I’ve waited alone once in the waiting room for hrs with my baby at night time and it wasn’t till I said I was leaving that they took me in. When I was heading to my room I saw all the stuff having coffee and donuts. They weren’t busy at all they were just not interested in working and getting me out of there so they could continue their little gathering.

I would recommend any other hospital but this one.

Worst hospital EVER. Nurses there are rude and don’t care! Leave you unattended in the admitting room for 4.5 hours nothing is offered like even Kleenex when you are I’ll, throwing up in garbage cans? They don’t ask if you need anything, all they do is yell at you to go back to your room! If you don’t have the heart to be a nurse than quit! It’s not the patients fault you are under paid and over worked! I’ve lived in fort all my life and all the money that went into that dump to have rude awful nurses you all need to find other jobs! I save yourself the trip and go anywhere else but there! Awful humans that work there! And no it’s not poor nurses boo boo it’s if your not in it for the right reason THEN LEAVE!

Gosh wait time here is a lifetime. This is what happens when we have universal healthcare. If only they get paid per patient I'm sure, they will move their a***. But they are not. They don't care how many cases they finish cause they got paid by the hour. They simply don't care. So they really taking their time. It's sad. Nobody do their job by the heart anymore. And professionally, it all for the pay cheque.

Wait times are brutal, my wife got a small bite from a feral animal and 811 notified to get it checked and get antibiotics for it, Fort Sask had the shortest online wait time of 2.5hrs vs 5hrs for Edmonton and Stony Plain. Got there 7pm and left 2am still unseen, one after another stroke/shortness of breath patients coming in and 2am they notified it would be another 2-4hr wait, we still had to drive home to Edmonton and both be at work at 8am so ended up leaving. I feel for the Doctor who was drowning in patients overnight as well, seems like short staffing

Absolute joke, they need to figure their s#! + out. The wait times are absurd. Wasted 4 hours waiting for stitches and ended up going home, soaking the wound in iso, and gluing myself back together because my babysitting needed to go home. So glad our taxes are spent on operating a hospital with one doctor.

Great staff, had a hernia operation and all the staff where excellent, was on time and all round great experience.

Had to have emergency surgery a week ago and they were amazing at calming my nerves before surgery and amazing with helping me recovery. My nurse Sherry was the best nurse ive ever had. 11/10

Very bad hospital, i don’t recommend anyone to go there. I went there with my baby at 2pm until 10pm I didn’t see the doctor I went back home. It’s better to go to Edmonton

When i bring my here because if chest pain and body weakness /numbness, they prioritized him. Doctor checked him right away and request all the test needed. Awesome & friendly staff, excellent service. They're all very accommodating although my Dad is just on visitors visa. Treat him well especially Dr. Orth. More power and God speed.

I would not suggest stepping foot in this emerge. Husband had severe migraine for 4 days with dizziness, nausea, pain in eyes and jaw, severe sensitivity to light. He saw family doctor who wrote a note and instructed us to go to emerge for testing and CT. He gave the note to admitting and waited 3 hours before seeing a doctor who then told him it's a headache caused from neck tension. At this point we knew we had to go to a real hospital. They did not give him the note back. Went in to ask for it and they said they couldn't find it in the room and asked him where he left it. He said he gave it to admitting when he checked in so they looked again and said receptionist does not remember getting the note and it is gone. They then said "sorry" and that was it. This suggests also that they do not care about written notes from doctors and did not even review it. Which is probably why they just said it's a headache. Waste of time and very saddened by the lack of effort for the patient considering how long he waited with no other patients in the waiting room. Trust your body and your instincts and go to a hospital you can trust.

The staff were all nice and checked on me in the waiting room about every 30 mins, once I got to see a doctor they were very nice to deal with, I required stitches and needles and they made it as painless as possible. Yes I had to wait, I wasn't in risk, or distress, I know there is a triage system in place it's a hospital not a Denny's. So it's not first come first served. All in all I gave it a 4 only because in the waiting room the TV was playing 50 shades of grey, and I found that inappropriate for a hospital.

If I could give a lower review I would. My son went there after falling down 4 cement stairs and landing on his tail bone. So he drove a hour and a half to Barrhead Hospital. The man at the front desk told him it can't be that bad, you limped in here. Very sad, no compassion at all. Staffing should have some sort of reviews after so many complaints.

Almost 3 hours waiting

Had my tonsils out and my throat was bleeding to the point of concern. Went into the ER ended up waiting 4 hours. They ended up helping some meth tweaker before me, I’m underage.

Came here after my family doctor as well as the after hours doctor told me I absolutely needed to go in for a CT scan after 9 days of 9/10 pain migraines endlessly. After waiting in the waiting room for 3 hours with 2 others in, a girl with a sprain got in first. Because I am tattooed, I am always judged. It wasn't "do you do drugs? " it was "how often? " I don't do drugs. I had severe tunnel vision, nausea, dehydration, dizziness and horrific pain. Could hardly walk. Was diagnosed with a headache, after being told by 2 doctors I need a CT immediety to rule out possibilities. I was nedied the CT. In addition the nurse informed me my pupils were very dialated and she needed to make a note. Nothing was done except "pain management", which I could have gone to my family doctor for. Very very unimpressed, to say the least.

Other hospitals are worth the wait to ensure you receive proper care. Listening to the medical assistant gossip about clients - doesn’t make people feel taken care of. It just feels very uncomfortable, especially when she is talking about how she told a woman her mom died, yelled at her family and then learned that the mom didn’t actually die.and she was laughing about it (honestly, wild) When you ask people to remove their own masks, wash or sanitize your own hands first and do not touch the inside of the mask. The front desk medical assistant was very immature and the staff in general spend more time gossiping then checking on patients. We can all hear what’s being said, and often the information being relayed is bias and unfounded. Each staff member kept adding onto and dramatizing each persons concerns like a game of telephone high school edition. It was honestly, realllly strange. When I finally saw the doctor he realized you could visibly see my concerns, that no one else even wanted to see and that my concerns were unrelated to what the staff had gossiped about. However, the diagnoses I received was inaccurate. I got home and had to decipher my own blood work and the staff missed a really big indicator on my blood work. Not sure if they just didn’t review it but it is a quite serious issue and is directly related to the concerns I came in with. Honestly, all of it was quite alarming and unprofessional.

Worst of the worst in waiting time! Been waiting in the waiting area for 3 hrs and decided to leave the hospital not seeing a doctor as we were still 2nd on the list then probably gonna be waiting for an hour or 2 in the Emergency room.

The day surgery staff are amazing the receptionists were friendly and the nurses were incrediable they made my nice and comfortable they were also very helpful they went above and beyond i just had surgery aug 20.also i wanna give dr farooq a big thank you he was my surgeon and was incredible also made it very comfortable and more easy for me as i was so nervous very happy with the staff

I came into this hospital in a lot of abdominal pain. I knew something wasn’t right. I was basically ready for death. The lady at the front handing out face masks when we entered was mean and dismissive. This woman should be fired in the area of “emergency” for how she treats people. I waited in emergency for 3 and a half hours while people with a “cough” were seen before me. A teenage kid came in with his mother a hour and half after I was already waiting with a “cough” and was taking in immediately before me, and was discharged literally half hour after. While I was throwing Up Acid and was keeling over in pain and the emergency looked over me. There were people before me and saw how in pain I was and left because of their negligence. Finally after three and a half hours in the WAITING room they realized how bad it was my appendix was done for and finally they admitted me. I could have died but luckily I had EMERGENCY surgery. I felt like I was in a third world country the way I was treated. When I told some of the nurses in the other area what happened they were astonished and mad I received such useless care while being admitted to emergency section of the hospital. The hospital is for emergency I was in need of emergency. And yet they overlooked me. Might want to actually realize who’s there on the brink of death and yes believe the reviews. Better to go to Edmonton then to deal with this mess of “emergency” waiting room. They can check their cameras. Everything I’ve said is 100% truth.

Great facility! I took my mom here for her cataract surgery. They strictly observe Covid19 health precautions. There are very visible floor stickers in the waiting area to remind people of social distancing. Very clean facility. All the staff we encountered here were so professional and very pleasant, as they should be, right? Wish I could say the same about the Misericordia and the U of A: (

I walked into the emergency room here tonight hoping to see someone. Ive never in my life dealt with so many miserable people as soon you get threw the doors each different person you have to deal with carrys the nastyest attitude i was absolutely shocked when people have problems at places its usually in regards to one staff member but not one person i had dealt with in this short period of being here was even pleasant. It blows my mind how you have that many staff members getting away with something that takes the smallest effort to change.
I was transferred to a unit behind the emergency waiting room at 9: 10 when i had came in and transferred there posted wait time was 30 minutes and there was noone else in the emergency waiting.
After being transferred at 9: 10 not another person was transferred to where i had been moved I continued to sit here for another 3 hours and nothing had changed and i still was the only person in this unit at the time of leaving.
To come in and wait 3 hours when you were told there was no wait is one thing in a hospital I completely understand anything can change and i would never ask to be seen before someone who needs attention immediately but to have staff give you nothing but nasty attitude when you check what’s going on only once in a 3 hour period when you dont know why your the only person who was moved back here and there wait has increased to 3 hours online is unacceptable. The reviews dont lie if your miserable in your job do something else people ask you for a reason your the health care professional im looking for your knowledge.
Whoever runs this hospital is clearly not involved in day to days operations what so ever or the staff members being brought on. In the middle of a pandemic its terrifying to walk into a hospital and the people who have worked endless hours to protect the public will always have my endless respect but this was nothing less of disgusting, get a new job. Noone wants to deal with your attitude because you are miserable.
I sat here for 4 hours tonight after driving a hour just to get here and have never once in my life been so disgusted.read the reviews they dont lie clearly its something in the water at this hospital.

We have a wonderful hospital in our community. I was in day surgery 07/02 and from reception to discharge everyone was fantastic to deal with. Thank you to nurses Brooke, Rebecca, Clare and Debra in recovery for being kind and patient amid Covid procedures that I’m sure have doubled your workload.

The staff of this hospital don't care about there patient. Some staff holding there cellphone and some staff are standing and talking of each other. (ER DEPARTMENT)

My was in your guys emergency room this past Tuesday and Wednesday she was very impressed with the care she got from the nurses and that they would check in with her of she needed anything at all and she also had a great things to say about the infection and disease specialist dr. King she was very caring and treated my mom fantastic I am very glad she got the greatest care from you guys also that dr.king mentioned to mom she was going be fine as she went in due to possibly having a bad infection on her legs I would recommend the fort Saskatchewan hospital any day keep the fantastic guys I very happy that my mom got the best care possible.
