Fortress Junction Service Centre

Stopped here after a hike for some well deserved ice cream, and WOW. This is a kids scoop! Not only was the ice cream delicious, but the customer service was excellent. Can’t believe we’ve never stopped here before but now it’s going to be a regular post hike tradition.

WOW! We stopped here based on the great ice cream reviews, and it's no joke. We ordered the "kid size" and received the equivalent of three or four LARGE scoops for a price that is a tiny fraction of what we paid for a single scoop in a congested tourist town nearby. The ice cream shop is in a room on the left as you enter the store. If there's no employee there, just ask at the main register.

It's worth going out of your way just for the ice cream experience. You will not be disappointed!

Best place to get the biggest ice cream cone! Not only is their ice cream amazing, but we are always greeted with super friendly, smiley, people. Always a pleasant stop on our way home from hiking! This place may be the only reason my kids want to go hiking with me…. So we’ll be back!

Very convenient service station when you are traveling in Kannanaskis. Also sells ice cream and liquor.

I can’t say enough good about this place! We ran out of dog food staying out there and they didn’t have any in store at the point and the owner went into her Personal dog food to help us out. The staff here is absolutely amazing and full of knowledge on the area!

Opal Ridge is our one of favorites but it's challenge. Today we worked on it for the traverse but unfortunately we had to cut it short due to a couple of issues and went down to Fortress Junction Service Centre. We needed a ride to pick our vehicles up but Fortress Junction Centre was happy to provide us a favor of ride for nothing. Thanks so much Tara, you were an angel today. We appreciate it.
