This place was quite a bit bigger than we had thought and everything is well-kept. The staff were all friendly and we will definitely come back next time we're in the area.
This is a fantastic attraction - the centre describes the early settlement of Frank, events leading up to the Frank slide, the aftermath and likely causes. The centre has 3 levels with various interactive displays as well as a theatre with 2 featured videos. Outside you will find an easy walking boardwalk and gravel trail around the centre where you can stop for breathtaking views of Turtle Mountain and the slide as well as the Crowsnest valley; there are several stops each with interpretive signage. There is ample parking on site. Expect to spend 2-3 hours here to get the full experience.
This is a lovely historic site to visit. It is a natural masterpiece showing the handiwork of God the master creator. Lovely sight and and view, a great place for relaxation and with lots of parking and seats and table for mini family picnic. It's always a delight to be here and connect with nature and hike the trail.
Driven through the area a few times and finally decided to check this place out with my wife and two kids, 10 and 14. It was really well presented displays and exhibits on the Frank Slide topped off with a half hour documentary. All 4 of us enjoyed the visit. $40 for the family pass. Worth the price.
My first time visiting Crow’s Nest Pass and I’m enjoying learning all the history around me. The Centre is very informative and has many educational exhibits.
Very unfortunate that this interpretive centre had to exist. I feel for those poor souls that got taken by the mountain. That being said, this Interpretive centre, does a great job honoring the victims and telling their story. Definitely worth the visit.
It's pretty crazy to think half a mountain side just slide away, plummeting to a stick made town at 120mph rearranging an entire landscape, lasting only 90secs! Simply amazing thing to see.
The police that just opened when I went for the first time excellent people working their place well kept and clean a lot of great information on the horrifying example of who the true power is of the world Mother Nature
Great day trip spot! Lots of hiking trails around this area. A piece of history for the Pass that had a tragic ending for many. Great for the whole family. Amazing views.
We were here nice and early in the morning and practically got a guided, personal tour of the museum from Henry. It was lovely to be walked though and have things explained to us with such a personal touch. Will for sure be back!
