They have an awesome diversity in produce, meat and grocery department. Earlier I was finding bad quality of fruits and sometimes even moldy vegetables, but they are doing better bow. I am no longer finding any defects in produce department. The new guy in produce, (may be the produce manager, I don't know) has knowledge about everything they sell. He even helped me with a coin to take cart.friendly and knowledgeable staff. This store worth 7 stars.
The freshest fruits and vegetables with such a high quality, I think you won’t find in any other stores in Calgary. Meat is Cheaper than superstore and but a few items in groceries very highly priced. Some items in produce department are also expensive compared to Walmart and nofrills, but I think the better quality they are providing overpowers the expenses. The store is growing and the most growth I saw was in produce section
This store is amazing, everything is organized very well and the store is very clean and shiny. The staff are really professional and they care about the customer. Managers are very friendly and super professional. I love the promotions that they have every week. Don’t miss the flyers, you can find many great things that you need in a week.
This store stinks! We don't shop here often, but the last two times in as many months both my wife and I noticed a very strong odour within the entire store. At first I thought it may be the enclosed entrance, but that was not the case. We suspect that whatever is used to clean the floors (e.g. Mop) needs to be changed more often - as the smell is the sort that I have smelled before as a result of using a dirty old mop. Anyway, please figure it out as nobody should have their olfactory senses assaulted the way they are at this location.gross!
Rotisserie chicken is literally the only hot food available. Ready-to-eat cooler section is worse than the 7-eleven across the street. Bakery is underwhelming. Overall selection is meh but the prices are good.
Manager Adam was very rude and disrespectful when I asked for assistance on a bag. “Well why didn’t you ask before Lady” and said “why are you looking at me like that come on? ” Will never ever go back. If this is management I cannot imagine the employees
The store is bright and clean, and the traditional layout makes it more customer friendly. I think the rebranding of the store will pay off for Sobeys as I have already seen a lot more people here than the previous Sobeys. The pricing is neither here nor there. It is maybe slightly cheaper than Sobeys but not by much if that's the case.
I notice that there are so many things that cashier needs the manager's intervention that it really slows down the checkout process. I think 40% of my visits ended up needing the manager's help and it often takes an extra 5-10 minutes to flag down a manager. It's something that they need to empower the employees to do. There is no reason that a marked down item needs the manager's approval to signoff before I can pay.
It also happened a couple of times that they have reduced in-store pricing on an item that they ringed in at a different price at the cash register. Then when they checked the price, the reduced in-store pricing sign mysteriously disappeared. That was very disappointing that they did not honour the posted price.
I'll still give it a 3 stars for now. Hopefully they will make improvements as time passes.
The fresh meat section is excellent. I've found my new butcher from now on. The store is clean and well organized, the only thing missing is a fresh bakery.
I've stopped in a few times in the last couple weeks as its close by. It is a discount grocery store, so the selection is not the greatest and the produce is a bit hit or miss (more hit than miss so far). For anything they don't have Superstore, Save On Foods, and Co-op are close by. Staff are super friendly and helpful, and generally speaking I've found the prices quite affordable. I can confirm AMEX worked fine for me and they just adopted the Scene + rewards program. A great option in the suburban NW and I plan on making it a regular stop.
I got some cereals on sale which was nice but the produce (onions and apples) I recently bought were more than half spoiled. I wish we had sobeys and not this boring store which sells low quality stuff.
Another Fresh Co store in the North West axis of Calgary. Clean, neat, and sparkling new store. Groceries are well organized, with appropriate signs and demarcations. Prices are cheap and very affordable. Their Pharmacy is exceptional, and they have very experienced and professional pharmacists. The store has a floral section, fresh fish and meat with halal inclusive. They have various products for different cultural backgrounds, and their customer service is excellent.
The worst customer service ever! Walked into the store and immediately got glares from staff! When I went to checkout half the express tills had orders on them but no people so I wasn’t able to use them. All the front end staff did not care and were busy talking to each other and sitting on the tills!
Bakery is a little lacking and selection in other departments are meh. To me, it just seems like a green Walmart, nothing special but not a bad experience. I sort of miss the sobeys.
Super clean store. Fantastic shopping carts for 25 cents. Definitely not a place I'll be buying meat as it didn't look fresh at all. No lineups was also a plus. Happy with the deals I got and appreciate the short aisles.
This store has interesting items I have not been able to find easily at other places I've been to.plus it's 5 minutes away from me so I make it a daily trip when I go for walks
It is great to have halal section for different kind of meat, both raw and processed. I appreciate the selection. I am glad that we have a nearby FreshCo with cheaper and fresh produce.
Will give them Zero if possible, they only price match big 4 stor but not their own FreshCo. So please mention it on your big banner along with the owner picture that we don’t price match another FreshCo on the city.
Sept. 11th, 2022 First time at the store, overall had a really good experience. I usually go through self checkouts but I decided to go through the tills to see what it would be like at this store…Unfortunately, I had a very dull, apathetic, and incompetent cashier ring me through the checkouts. I believe her name is Amanehy or something along the lines of what the other cashiers were calling her. There was no proper greeting, she did not ask if I needed bags (only after I paid when I was struggling to carry my groceries in hand), I asked her a question about a certain product I couldn’t find but it seemed like she either didn’t know what to do or was just not interested in helping.
