Was disappointed with the quality of the produce and cost comparison. High prices for low quality. Very high priced grocery store. Profiteering for sure. Still upper prices.
Would not recommend taking your wild meat to be processed here. We took a moose there last year and got mixed meat back. We got a nice young moose, clean harvest, very clean about the way we handled it up until we dropped off the quarters. When we received the meat back, we had bloodshot steak/roasts, grass in the meat, and portions of it were very tough and smelled like the meat from a rutting bull moose. Our bull moose was young and not yet at an age that it would be rutting. If you want to be sure you are getting your own meat back, take it somewhere else.
I was a person who would try to shop at home, but the higher the prices keep going, that won't be happening. For example, a couple years ago, the price of an apple pie was raised to $9.99, I quit buying them. Well yesterday, I thought I would treat the family and buy an apple pie, but darn near fell over at the price $17.99. Everything in the store has been rising in price, and not raising the price by a few cents, raising the price by 30 to 60% higher. Sorry, but I can no longer be on the side of this store and advocating shopping at home,
Prices are way too high and the produce is not fresh. Place is clean and the people are friendly. Product is not always accessible unless you climb on bottom shelf to reach.
I worked there, and a fellow in the meat department by the name of Gary joked, old enough to crawl they're in the right position. There was 5 other white people in the room one of which who was named Charles.
A clean shop, and the workers treat them very well. Sometimes the prices are expensive. Sometimes the prices do not matter. The important thing is the treatment, which is very good treatment. Thank you all.
Merry Christmas and happy new year I wish you a happy year of health and happiness️️️️️️️️️️️

The customer service is always good. Good variety of everything on their shelves. Awesome deli and bakery. Im really not impressed with the fruit so I dont buy fruit there anymore. Nice floral section and a great aisle of miscellaneous toys and seasonal merchandise to accommodate the needs of the small community and its members that cant drive to shop in the city. Ive given them only 3 stars due to the over pricing of everything. I really dont think they need to mark up the prices the way they do. This store is EXTREMELY expensive and as a single parent there is no way i could do my regular grocery shopping there. I drive to Slave Lake Walmart or the city regularly for all my grocery needs and only shop at this store for urgent groceries or a specific couple items here and there and feel robbed everytime, lol.
There should be training in how to bag up groceries. And the weight limit is on a plastic bag. Just saying. Broke two bags trying to carry them off counter from so much being placed in the bags. And if I wanted flat pop I would shake them myself. Please remember that with hidden fees we pay for bags already so don’t be cheap with bags!
Super helpful and friendly staff knowledgable and very quick on getting customers up to date on vehicle service and on there way I highly recommend big lakes dodge
Prices is bit high in the meat department. Fruits and veggies dont last too long but means more fresher then other stores. Less wax and chemicals.bread is the right price for in store baking. The point program is a little disappointing. I did spend over 550 today I could have got double at a no frills. But hey support local once in a while.
This grocery store usually has what I need. Sometimes expired products sit on the shelf for too long though. Overall I have been happy with the staff here. They are always friendly.
The employees have no respect for social distancening. The customers are not much better but the store can't control them, they should be able to controll the staff.
Big clean store, great selection of products bakery and ready to eat foods are great. Anything outside of the basics meat, bread, milk etc.are definitely higher priced and you will save 20-60% on items by shopping in Peace River or Slave Lake.
They repackage expired or just about to expire food into those ready-made meals and resticker it with a new expiry date. They change dates in meat, deli, bakery and produce. I recommend that you don't buy anything pre-prepared. Especially marinated meat.
Freson Bros. (Still call it IGA lol) is good, stores always clean, staff is friendly and shelves are stocked well. There prices are sometimes high but it's understandable. I shop there for couple things here and there when I need stuff for a certain meal and my essentials (milk, bread, eggs) as well.
Good selection. High priced. Always check packing dates on deli food. I've been told they resticker expired food with false expiry dates. I bought a roast beef and potato tray that I swear was expired. I had a bite and threw the rest out.
Staff are very friendly and are super helpful. There is a ready to eat section with chicken and potato products. The store has free WiFi, but speeds are quite poor. This is the biggest and main supermarket in town. There is another supermarket called Super A, but they are only about 1/3 of the size and prices are similar, so they don't get as much customers. Place is quite clean and organized.
Update: The prices here are very expensive, you'll often pay double or more compared to a main stream supermarket. They have a monopoly, plus government funding for aboriginals, so ordinary people get caught with high prices. Unfair business practice.
