This is the absolute worst service I have ver received and I’ve received bad service before.they didn’t check in my table once, and the time it took for the food was over an hour.plus they gave us the wrong order three times. The food isn’t too bad once you finally get it but there needs to be a serious change at this location, because it wasn’t even all that busy when this was happening. The other fusion sushi on McKnight is a much better option.
WoRST PLACE EVER. Staff are all rude except for that one brown-skinned guy. Food took so long to arrive and servers were not paying attention to us. Food were the worst I’ve ever had. They didn’t deserve any tips but it sucks that we had to pay for service charge. PLUS one worker working at the sushi stand was shouting at the other poor worker and everyone could hear it.
This is mine and my familys fav sushi place.it’s so good and sooo affordable.the people who work here are really nice.the mango rolls are amazing i love it here
I don't know ow why some of the reviews were negative. We are visiting Calgary. This restaurant was nearby our hotel. I did the all-you-can-eat dinner. Food was good. Service was fast for my original order and for when I ordered twice more. Staff was nice and helpful.
Just got the Maki C set via Doordash delivery. This looks like it was make a week ago. Presentation is unappealing AF. Flavour is OK. Texture is not. It's like it's been sitting around awhile. Never ordering from here again. Do yourself a favour and order from Kibo Sushi. Costs more but is waaaaaay fresher and tastier. Bad experience, this.
Staff are dressed and look like they just woke up. Person making rolls had long hair with no hair net and was touching their phone and hair. Table we were seated at was still dirty. Menus were greasy on the outside and pages sticking together on the inside. I’m sure the food would have been good, like I have experienced in the past at other fusions, but we lost our appetite and left before ordering.
This is the same restaurant as downtown, but the menu and food is much worse. The dinner menu do not hsve squid, the beef is of lower quality than on 5th ave, paper form (not a tablet) when ordering. Staff very nice but food much worse. I won't go there again.
It was a little busy, and our guy waiter was alone and running all the orders, yet still so friendly and always have a smile, even the sushi chef at the front. Everything is tasty! Love the pad thai!
Younger and bright staff, amazing service (not that their old staff wasn't great). We were debating whether to go to the 17ave location or Kensington and stated that we've never had a complaint here so why change. THANKS AGAIN!
Staff are friendly and not bad for all you can eat. Just all the dishes were pretty sticky and some of my food had black dust? Chef might want to double check before serve.
If I could leave lower than a 1 star I would. The restaurant at the time of my visit was half empty yet it took 5 minutes for anyone to guide us to a table and another 20 minutes before a waiter even brought us a menu. Rude, inexperienced wait staff worked the restaurant, putting actual effort into avoiding eye contact with tables they were neglecting to service. Then in a span of 5 minutes two different waiters that both looked no older than 16 took out drink order, in which the first misunderstood the words "white wine" 5 times.
The plates and tables were dirty and sticky, the restaurant had a putrid smell, and on our way out after half an hour of receiving absolutely no service, another patron shared that even if we had ordered, it would've taken an hour for the food to begin arriving as she experienced.
I am not sure how this specific Fusion sushi remains in service. The negative reviews paint a far more accurate picture than the positive reviews and I urge anyone to reconsider and go to literally any other Japanese restaurant if they were thinking about visiting this place
November 26,2022. Dinner Service for all you can eat felt incredibly slow. Orders took almost 40 minutes just to get to the table. Some of our orders were just plain forgotten as well. I don’t recommend spending $37 dollars for this and if I could give 0 stars I would. Honestly just a waste of time and money.
The food quality is so poor, the avocado used in the rolls was all black and tender, the mango was a disarster, and the maki was only rice almost empty from any topping
It's obviously not the best sushi. But that's not why you go to an all you can eat place obviously. The sushi is good, the appetizers are great (especially the stuff you can't get at other Fusion locations) But the paper slip system for ordering is definitely a little clunkier than the crowfoot locations iPads. The staff are friendly and were accommodating of our decent sized party on short notice. The price for drinks is a little high but I suppose they have to make the money up somewhere.
Servers are inexperienced and service was unfortunately very slow, after two of us had already finished eating the other two got their food.i also found a couple fish eggs on my vegetarian sushi.when we opened up the menu there was dried food and a bunch of rice fell out from the previous people who had it
My friends had AYCE and I had a roll. It was tasty and the servers were very friendly. My roll did take a bit longer but there was a lot of people. Still great value for AYCE especially for lunch
I ordered the maki 3 combo and was very underwhelmed with the food. The complimentary water was lukewarm with very little ice in it. The salad was just chopped iceberg lettuce with a very strange paste as a dressing. The miso soup was just a mediocre broth with no seaweed, no mushroom, and no tofu. The sushi was not well proportioned and was not thoughtfully made. I would not recommend this place to eat in any circumstances.
The best experience everytime we come here. I have been to all locations and we keep coming back to this one! Cindy is the absolute sweetest, and I love feeling so welcomed. Recommend this location to everyone I know! It's a must have. The sashimi is always so fresh
My order was here in a decent time but the bag was SOAKED it seems the delivery dude had thrown my order around like a rabid dog. The items that needed the sauce were without and everything else was soaked and gross, then two items were missing and the delivery took so long to get them i had missed the fellow (hope he liked the free fish) I waited essentially two hours for this missing item and just opted for a refund. Wouldn't order from here again:/
We love dining at fusion sushi, but it's our first time to dine here at kensington and the experience is not as good as what we expected, we ordered shrimp tempura that was so bland, the fried pork cutlet was so hard and has a bitter taste, the rolls i don't know if they used an old cooked rice coz it was dry and hard, the takoyaki there is not even a single part of squid on it it was all flour and the worst the seafood soup, i don't know if they just boil a water and just put the shrimp and veggies the shrimp you can taste it was raw.
My first portion was okay but then my second order in the all you can eat deal pause much worse. The rice was gluey and very hard to eat and there seemed to be larger pieces of rice compared to the fish.
0 stars if l can mark. Tuna Sashimi was very small piece, dark and smelly. Sushi was more like huge rice ball with a tiny piece of sashimi. I did not feel any piece of professionalism with their serving.
It is not hard to imagine that there was a lot of seat whereas the other sushi restaurant was full of booking when l visited in weekend.
I used to visit Fusion alot because l loved their sushi and food, but something has changed since the last timel visited.
Their management or chef were changed l guess.otherwise lt can not be down this bad.
I hope the other fusion is still ok, at least this one is out of my to go list.
We enjoyed our visit. The quality of the food was not bad for an all you can eat place. "All you can eat" is a tricky business model when you're dealing with sushi. I would rate the food 7/10 compared to your "go to" sushi place, which I feel is better than you'd find at a place that let's you eat until you can't anymore.
Some things I noticed while we were there. Their menu & signage art, implies that they serve unagi, but it's purely aesthetic, they do not serve unagi.
The all you can eat option for lunch was $25 a person, which is not bad. So $50 for the 2 of us is actually great if you can eat a lot of sushi (we can lol). However. We noticed that around the time we kind of hit about $50 worth of food, the service slowed to a crawl. Which is something very common with this type of place, and I kind of expected it. I think the staff is trained to do this to minimize cost to the restaurant. Which is understandable, but it's also disingenuous advertising. New customers would walk in (our table was near the entrance) and our server definitely looked over at us multiple times (empty cups, plates, and next items to order already written down on our order sheets) and blatantly ignored us lol. One time she accidentally made eye contact with me and nervously darted away instantly. I had to laugh. I would repeat though, this is sooo common that it's almost not worth complaining about. It's easy to eat more than $25 dollars worth of sushi/tempura/dumplings etc. By the end, after appetizers & drinks, I would say we likely consumed like $70 worth of items for just over $50 in about an hour, maybe an hour and a half.
While there are definitely better sushi places out there (*cough* *cough* "Sushi Toki". *cough*), this one was pretty good for an all you can eat. It's not going to be the NEXT sushi place I go to, but I can see myself going again at some point.
Not worth the money, way to expensive for what you get and service was terrible. I would give 0 stars if I could. I spent $80 dollars for two people and we didn’t even get everything we ordered, dishes we dirty, water was questionable. Servers were rude and they ignored us, they didn’t even bother to ask how things were going. They just sat in the corner chatting between each other. I will never eat here again.
Absolutely awful AYCE. Avoid the sushi at all costs, as they literally pack the sushi with exorbitant quantities of rice to fill you up. Incredibly shady and stingy. This is a practice I have never seen, EVER, in any AYCE. My family and I could only eat half the provided rice. After, the staff had the audacity to charge us for food wastage when it was only our first time there and had never seen such an atrocious imitation of what is supposed to be called "sushi". Staff were confrontational, unhelpful, rude, and do not know how to run AYCE sushi. Avoid at all costs. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
Awful value for money! We went for lunch and paid 10$ to get the dinner menu which included Sashimi and other dishes. I have never seen smaller sashimi dishes, with one tiny piece at a time. The pad thai was bad, the Basil beef was inedible, the sushi pizza was odd, the tom yum soup was nice though. The luxury rolls were mostly rice The waitress was very nice, and I am glad that she didnt give us grief for the mountain of rice that we didnt consume. Wouldnt know how the a la carte is, but I would say avoid the all you can eat at all costs
This used to be my favourite place but lately it goes downhill big-time. My main concern is the cleanliness and quality of sushimi. Plates, glasses, tables and floor is sticky and overall looks and feels dirty. Cindy, it’s time to step up your game! I’ll delete this review when things get better.
Holy hecking heck. This place is stingy with their portions. If you want fish in your sushi, this is not the place to go. You'd expect this somewhat when going for AYCE but they took it to the next level.
Their fish on the nigiri was practically see through, not unlike their dirty windows. Their rice was compacted to maximize filling you with carbs, but even the rice wasn't seasoned well. Tempura looked to be extra battered. Order anything with carbs like noodles and they'll give you an extra big serving in one order.
The light streaming from the windows accentuated how run down the interior was. Tape on the walls, dust on the sills, dirty fabric chairs, odd ambience with music not fitting that was more for the chef than the customers. The washrooms felt like they would have fit more in some gritty backwater gas station than a restaurant. I felt dirtier coming out than going in.
The only saving grace was that the servers were nice and attentive.
I tend to be pretty easy going with AYCE but there are just some restaurants that just can't even do the bare minimum. Don't waste your money here like I did, especially when their prices are more than the competitors.
Absolutely terrible place, my gurl went there and she had the most terrible service ever. Not only was the food meh but the service was absolutely horrid. She asked for more ginger and was literally given 1 PIECE of ginger. She was very taken back as she has been here before and the service as well as the food was quite good, really hope this place improves on the two things I've mentioned.
Japanese dishes tasted much better on the whole, although some of the beef and noodle dishes were tough/bland respectively. Thai dishes were largely on the sweeter side, not as balanced as original Thai food typically is. Customer service was not great; the server was very curt and impatient.
After being seated, it took exceptionally long to get our first order taken. The service throughout the meal was quite slow, despite only being roughly half full by the end. It took quite a while to flag someone down to get refills of tea or water, or take the paper for an order.
The quality was decent. The tea was Luke warm at best. The rice on the nigiri was packed so loosely, it was falling apart as we tried to pick it up.
Ayce place, lots of options to choose from, sushi rolls, tempura shrimp and calamari are good options, order some chicken and beef plates and unfortunately they tasted like fish, maybe a bad day, good value for your money.
Food is ok, but the service is one of the worst I've ever had at a sushi restaurant. They were not attentive or friendly. This was the first time I've ever not tipped when out for dinner, and as a long time food and hospitality worker that's saying something. Just avoid this place and pick somewhere else!
The food was great aside from the long wait we had before getting the food. Some of our order took over 1 hour to get. I understand it takes awhile with sushi as they make it fresh but we were there for a late lunch so the lunch crowd had come and gone. Our waitress was fantastic, she was constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. I will be going back to give it another try but certainly not when it's busy as I can't imagine what the wait for food will be
I wish I could give 0 stars and absolute scam of a place. Robbed me red handed Walk-in and saw that the all you can eat ended at 3: 30 pm so I went ahead and ordered an 8 pc special role, a 2pc shrimp tempura and adamame.the person that came with me just had a glass of water and a few adamame but just because he sat with me and had a glass of water my bill was 67 dollars. Apparently dinner starts at 3: 30 and it’s 35 dollars per person Even if they just have a water The thing that I found more insulting is that the server did not even care to explain how the restaurant work or give us a fair warning before ordering just stayed quiet while I order just for one but she charged me 75 dollars
Never go here it’s not even that good, kinjo is better
My review is only for Thai food which I had. Although I had Thai food in Thailand and several other countries. This was the WORST Thai food I ever had anwhere in the world. The generous quatity tastes so bad with poor ingredients that do not at all go with Thai cuisine. You can make much better thai food yourselves from youtube. Please never ever order any Thai food as it was just pathetic and insult to thai cuisine.
The quality wasn't as high as I expected given how nice and big the restaurant is and how great its location is. The main issue was inaccuracies in the order, as we would order one thing but either recieve something else or not recieve it at all sometimes. Also the photos on their menu are fake and not representative of what the reall food looks like.
It was so difficult to find a spot for parking! Store rent is super high in downtown so I don’t mind. We eventually found parking and the service was fast. Food was delicious and had various options to choose from since we took the buffet. I appreciated that they took orders and made it fresh rights away. Two of dishes they brought were something that we didn’t order so we had to send it back! Otherwise, it was relaxing and enjoyable.
Good service even for large groups. No iPad ordering system like other locations but food quality is on par with other Fusion locations. Has a large side room for larger parties too.
We love Fusion Sushi a lot, we usually go at least 2 to 3 times a month. However, 2 days ago we went to celebrate and the ordering is quite pain in the b*tt. Our orders didn't came properly we missed a lot of orders like shrimp skewers, baked mussels, teriyaki beef, teriyaki salmon and few sushi rolls. We have to wait very long, nothing came; so we have to re-order again for the second time and some still didn't came, we just gave up. We just left unhappy.
It's a very good place. The service is fast and good. On Weekdays the environment is very quiet. The waitress are good, patient and friendly. You can choose Japanese food here. You can find sushi, rolls but also rice with chicken and type of Thai food. Soup and dessert are in the menu. If you come from 11.30 to 3.00 you can find all you can eat and there is special menu too. I recommend try this place at least once.
Some friends took me here to try it out the other night, aside from the parking situation I found that the speed of the waiting staff was quite good for the all you can eat, and that in consideration with this the portion sizes were good, as it did not allow you to order to much of one thing. Rather you could enjoy a wide variety of different things over the course of the 90 minute allocated period. Was quite impressed with how spacious the restaurant is and look forward to enjoying a meal there again! Thank you for the great service!
I was here to enjoy the Lunch all you can eat, the price is so nice only $18.85. The foods was awesome and service was wonderful! I am definitely going back here again!
$20 all u can eat sushi is awesome. However the menu is very vague in descriptions of food for example there were two different type of California rolls on the menu with no description for the difference or the ingredients. My best recommendation would be images in the menu of each of the items or descriptions of each
Worst miso soup in my life. Washrooms are dirty. Food is not that bad but paying for 80% of noodles or rice and 20% of actual meat or veggies looks super cheap from the restaurant It's not really tasty or nice I was expecting better food
Mediocre food, flies flying around.pretty meh experience. Good if you want to eat a bunch of low quality sushi for under 20$. Probably more suited to the student crowd.
Explosive diarrhea! Not kidding. The hand rolled spicy tuna (also commonly known as cones). Very strong pungent fish flavor, old mayonnaise, sprinkled crispy bits and no spice. Nobody in my family had the squirts as I was the only one to eat the funky cones. I thought the kicker was being charged for green tea.
I will never go back and or recommend this place.
So many other fantastic Japanese restaurants in Calgary that don't get people sick.
Terrible customer service and terrible food quality. Sashimi was not fresh. Fried tempura were soggy. The service was especially terrible, especially the manager. She is a middle age Asian women. Me and my family will not going to this restaurant ever again because of this manager! And I will make sure none of my friends go there too!
Owner of this restaurant, you will keep loosing customers because of this lady until no one come to your restaurant. She did not show any qualification as a manager. Her attitude towards customer was even worse than a waitress. Please think it twice if you want to keep her in your restaurant.
