Had some time so took my daughter to the games workshop store at Chinook mall. Always a good time and the staff where very helpful when my kid asked if she could paint it any color, the answer is yes you can. Thank you

Always had a great experience at this store. Staff is knowledgeable about the product and can give you tips on painting and army choice. If you're interested in getting into playing or painting I highly recommend stopping by and learning first hand.

Store staff was very helpful and knowledgeable with my son who is just starting to have interest in the game.

Worst service I've had at a GW. Staff argued an item wasnt released when they apparently hadn't order any. The store itself is nice though.

One of my favourite stores! The only Games Workshop in Calgary. Staff and energetic and ready to help how ever they can. New players or seasoned, there’s something for everyone.

First time ever going into an actual Games workshop store. The experience was great, Amy was very helpful and was able to solve my issue by providing a solution to gettting models that weren't in stock at the store to my home.

Great place to go and get started with WH40k tabletop, the staff are wonderful and always friendly. They'll be able to answer literally any question you have about warhammer

Outstanding service and great workplace culture

I recently got into Warhammer. I’ve visited several locations in calgary for help and by far got the most support from Darren and his team at the Chinook Warhammer location.

Not only did they point me towards everything I need, keeping cost in mind for me, they also offered to book me in for a free painting lesson (2 actually) which has been amazing for getting started.

This also offered me the opportunity to sit down and experience the workplace culture of this store. This team has an amazing enthusiasm for the hobby as well as a genuine desire to help out rookies like myself. Which is very refreshing as a few places I’ve visited seem almost exclusive to newbies.

If you’re looking for a great experience with friendly, knowledgeable staff this is the spot.

The store itself is great with lots of painted models on display and staff are nice. The main problem with this place is that there is no reason to go when two other stores in calgary offer more incentives. Sadly I don't even remember the last time I saw players to come in and play some full games on their tables. They need to bring that back, it would attract more customers in the store if people see others actually playing the full games and having fun.

Sentry box- WAY bigger selection of 40k, aos and lotr models. PLUS cheaper used models in their used cabinet with old warhammer fantasy models. They also sell lots of 40k terrain and 3rd party terrain.

They also have a ton of modeling accessories that aren't ridiculously overpriced like citadel brand items. If they don't have a model your looking for you can order it too.

The biggest draw is that you get sentry points with every purchase. That alone makes this place better than GW. Why spend 70$ at GW that gives you just the model when you can spend 70$ at Sentry box which gives you the model AND get points that give you discounts for future models.

Eastridge sports cards- about the same stock size as GW but more varied selection and cheaper prices (sometimes 5-10$ less). If you don't like sentry you can come here and at least give yourself a small discount on the exact same thing GW sells.

First time going into the store and a new WH40K fan. Store had awesome sets in stock and the service was fantastic. Amy was amazing in getting me all that i need to start in the hobby

Great service. I was looking to get back into painting and went to browse. The guy who served me was extremely knowledgeable and gave me tons of options without feeling pushy. I got some models, paint and basic tools I'd need. I probably would have just walked around and left if he hadn't been so awesome. He got me excited about warhammer again.

I LOVE games workshop Chinook and this review is NOT for the store itself but for the website the whole company uses. Unfortunately they decided to remove the mobile version of their site so now it's not functional at all on mobile devices. Posting this hoping that Darren, or somebody else if he left, will see this and pass it along to hopefully get something done to make the site functional again.

Over the years I have gone into this store again and again and have never had a pleasant experience, not like Kingsway or West Ed in Edmonton where at least there were some good moments mixed in. Arrogant employees who can't seem to find a good mix between being super pushy or being wall flowers. If you are looking for GW models, I recommend buying from the website or Sentry Box and save yourself having to deal with the staff. I avoid this store now which is a shame as it is a flagship store.

Place is pretty nice.one specific employee who I fail to remember the name of was extremely welcoming, while the rest sort of offered judgmental stares, but I won’t hold it against them, it just sort of put me off. For selection it’s pretty meh, they offer little in the way of options that I got from other stores like Sentry Box or BoardGames4us. If you’re new to either Warhammer Age Of Sigmar or Warhammer 40,000 I’d recommend taking a trip to either of the aforementioned stores so you can get a better selection of the factions to choose from, but if you’re already into the hobby and Chinook is nearby, there’s no harm in stopping by for a few Citadel paints and maybe the occasional box set.

This is such a great shop with helpful staff. My son has been into Warhammer since he was 8 and over the last ten years for birthdays and Christmas these guys always help me out and they have been so kind to my son since he was a little guy going in to get pain and minis. Glad they continue to be in business.

Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. If you're curious about Warhammer, this is the best place to explore and learn about it!

Has a wonderful selection of miniatures always on hand, but service and willingness to help is a little lacking. Can also find all GW products for 10% off elsewhere.

Great Shop for fantasy hobby builders such as my self games workshop produces all kinds of table top hobby's such as warhammer 40000 or warhammer age of sigmar
you buy model kits which can include to 30 miniatures or on big model it is a tad expensive though you can than build the miniatures you bought than paint them.and than play with them.using certain stat blocks.which come is a book called a codex it a fun way to spend time.with family or even friends the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly willing to.engage conversation about youre hobby and give you friendly pointers and tips! (photos are miniatures that I own I posted for reference the army is called T'au from warhammer 40k)

Pretentious employees, wouldn't even talk to my wife. This was not the first time but will be the last. You can find cheaper products at other stores un Calgary

My kids were amazed buy Warhammer and related thematic goods. Store personnel was very helpful and knowledgeable, providing tons of information and valuable advice. Thank you so much for excellent customer service and great selection in stock.

Gw flagship store you might need to go for some exclusive items but there are cheaper stores for official gw items all over town.much better to shop at one of them for a discount.

I'm not at all familiar with warhammer, but my buddy convinced me to check out the shop. When I went in I was greeted with incredibly friendly staff who happily answered all my questions! Its worth a look if you can appreciate their incredible passion for their work!

Exactly what it says on the tin, so to speak. Games Workshop products exclusively. If that's your thing, this (along with the Sentry Box) is your place. Hell, they even have a life-size model of a Space Marine in the store window! How can you argue with that?

Been out of the hobby for 20 years but went in to take a look. 25min later talking to one of the staff, filled in on what I missed, websites to go to, things to check out. Service is great.

People in that store seriously need to learn what soap and deodorant are. I get it's a hobby like that but I've been doing it 15 years now. Take a bloody shower.

Friendly to all walks of life, accomodating to veteran players and the average person who walka in from the mall. The staff are family friendly, they know their stuff, and they can help you make the best of the hobby. The store has multiple tables to play the Warhammer games on for free anytime, and the staff are always willing to help explain rules

Beware: It can get expensive due to the selection of stuff one can buy. Staff are friendly. If interested in starting the hobby of miniature painting and building, do a little research first and/or ask for a free mini to try building.

The staff are super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the products. I like coming here and spending time painting minis. I only wish that the prices were lower, but what can you do?

The Citadel paints are really good too! Tons of pigments and options to make your mini look fresh and unique.

Despite the large selection of products, I have never had any customer service. I'm trans masculine, and back when I was still presenting as female, the staff would actively avoid making eye contact with me when I would browse the store. When I would enter with a boyfriend, they would only talk to him and continue to ignore me, even if my boyfriend had no real interest in the merchandise. Now that I look significantly more masculine, I get some acknowledgement, but at this point I just avoid entering the store at all. I would rather go to Sentry Box, they help people no matter what they look like.
