Gateway Medical Clinic

I came to this clinic few days ago, unfortunately, that tall white old lady receptionist was very very rude to me. I was standing by the hallway trying to look for the washroom and She yelled “ excuse me! ” But in very very rude tone. I did not even walk through the hallway. If she was nice person, she can simply ask me if I need help. I didn’t need.yelling because I was very very sick.

I have been seeing my family doctor for over 25 years, following him from clinic to clinic and ending up at the Gateway.

Dr. McCarty reacts appropriately and quickly to any problems I have had! Have found the staff very friendly and helpful.

So happy with all my care from him. Thank you Dr McCarty and staff!

Just started coming here. Very professional and friendly people that work there. Doctor seems very professional and takes great care in your health. I just hope all this continues. It is very hard to find health care offices that care any more. I had to change my star count. Every time we come here we have an appointment and still you don’t get in to see the Doctor for about a hour passed the appointment time This is not good business

Ashley is the rudest receptionist, worst attitude. FIRE her asap.
We have a baby and she’s not considerate, she did not smile, her face looks upset, her tone is upset, has worst facial grimace, her looks do not want us to come in to the clinic. I am a nurse in Grey Nuns Hospital, I am a nurse supervisor and i dont accept that nasty behavior.

I’ve went her lento see dr.wong twice now and both times he was very nice, fast and talked to me like a person.

Dr. Wong has been my doctor since I was a baby, I am now 26 and he is by far the best doctor I could have ever hoped for! I have never had a problem getting in to see him even on short notice! His nurse is very sweet as well. Overall I believe this is one of the best clinics in edmonton as all their staff is very professional and very kind! Would definitely recommend Dr. Wong as a doctor, he is not only professional and amazing but he loves lightening the mood! Always makes me laugh when we go in!

Against child vaccines and vaccines in general.

The front registration just hung up on me when I asked a question about the vaccine. She said it was the wrong number and and or location and as I was still speaking asking if she had the correct information she said no I do not and hung up in my ear. Just straight up rude and disrespectful. No customer service skills what so ever.

My entire family has been coming to this clinic for many many years with Dr. Wong as our family physician. I've literally seen him since I was 5 years old and I am currently 27 so I'm pretty much gonna be a lifer. Dr. Wong is an excellent knowledgeable doctor who listens patiently, and explains things so that it's easy to understand. Thank you Gateway Medical Clinic!

Absolutely the most pleasant clinic I have ever been too. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Doctors are amazing. Very knowledgeable and get things done. I will be staying with them for life. Now I know why my wife has been with them for 20+ yrs. I just wish I went earlier. Thank you Gateway Medical.

I have been a patient of Dr. Wong for over 20 yrs & I swear he is the best Dr. Always listens & is do good at getting things done for me. The front staff on the other hand, so are so rude & very unprofessional, especially over the phone

Have been coming here for 10 years and i have always felt really well taken care of.appointments are easy to arrange, wait times are never long and the staff are all very caring and efficient!

I've been a user of this clinic for the last 8 years, and in that time, received exceptional care with only one incident that was sub-par with one of the Drs we don't typically see. Dr. Keough has proven himself to be a great diagnostician, and extraordinarily well-studied physician overall. Can't speak highly enough of the staff. I can't speak for anyone else's experience, but good care also requires a good patient.

Waited more than 3 hours to be seen. Even called ahead to check wait times and they said maybe 30 minutes. Was not impressed. Very disappointed, dislocated my shoulder, had it in a sling, it was so painful, and that wasn’t serious enough for them. I don’t think that’s right, and would avoid this location unless desperate.

If youre looking for meds for pain, dont bother with Dr Carter. He is petrified of the college of physicians. You cant even get tylenol 3 from him for legit pain. I can understand Drs being afraid you will up your dosage or get on something stronger. But for me, I have severe extreme period pain like LABOR (no exaggeration). For 2 weeks out of every month. Ive been taking T3 for 15 years and it works perfectly for my pain. Never once needed anything stronger. Not addicted either (end up going off them 2 months ago with zero issues!) T3 is nothing more than regular ol tylenols with a tiny extra kick. Smh. I would completely understand if I was asking for stronger and stronger meds or more and more T3s. But I wasnt. I was taking same amount just for my periods 2 weeks/month. Dr Carter is scared of college of physicians. Like most drs these days. Its ridiculous.
I used to love him til he got so scared of college of physicians. Its too bad I had to leave him after 15years to now find a new dr.

I can't say enough good about this clinic and it's doctors. Dr. Ferenczi is an excellent and caring family doctor - the best I have found. He is up to date on current research, takes time as needed to explain things and will actively seek out up to date information online during visits. He is willing to problem solve for solutions that fit with my wishes and health goals and is supportive of mental health as well. I have seen 3 other doctors in this clinic when Dr F has been unavailable and they have all been excellent as well. I never wait in the lobby area more than 3 min to get into a room to wait for the doctor. The front staff are lovely. I have had to go to this clinic at least a dozen times in the last year and have never had a negative experience. Highly recommend!

If you can avoid ist clinic do it. I saw my family doc there for over 13 years just to find out one day while wanting to book an appoinent that he has left for the U. S.t without notifying his patients. They gave me another doctor but he is know never apparentlythere theyand has always a sub doc. They also changed without notifying their patients, that they don't call anymore for appointments reminder, now I missed an appointment and now I'm restricted to only walk ins, especially when you are used to the clinics way of doing things for 13 years I would suspect they would let patients know this is ridiculous their phone lines never work I booked an appointment before drove all the way there just to let them tell me that they didn't book me in, I don't get reimbursed for the gas I wasted coming there, it's really sad because they're really don't care about the patients otherwise they would notify them if something has changed in their family clinic ridiculous and unprofessional

I heard about DR absolutely good review amazing service all DR seat listen to patients concerns medical something wrong they find what wrong I’m really impressed about good service

I have been seeing Dr. Carter here for over 5 years and have "complicated" health issues. I have never had a bad experience here, nor have I ever been made to wait past my appointment time, in fact I usually get in early.:) I would definitely recommend this clinic and Dr. Carter!:)

This is by far the best Dr's office i have been to. Dr McCarty has been my dr for over 30 years.it will be a sad day when he retires

I'm really confused about all the bad reviews for this place. I have been going here for about 8 years. A few years ago I didn't have a regular doctor but I always seemed to be put with Dr. Wong, I love him. He listens to all my concerns, explains everything in an easy to understand way, he makes sure you understand everything before leaving the room, he remembers details about my personal life even though I only go in maybe 2-3 times a year, I could keep going. So Dr. Wong is now my doctor. The hours at Gateway Medical could be better for the walk-in people, but Dr. Wong takes appointment times a few times a day so it's easy for me to book in with him, I typically get in same day or next day. Front office staff is always nice and respectful. Never had an issue here, keep it up!

Dr. J. Wong.more like Dr. J. Wrong. I felt like I was an inconvenience to him. Written out wrong prescription, wrong patient name and wrong date of birth.

I dont have a family doctor, but if possible I go see Dr. Wong because he makes me feel like he is my family doctor.

I love this medical clinic, all the Doctors and staff are excellent. Been going there for many years.
