I have had the opportunity to purchase some hiking gear recently. Jesse from Geartrade is next level. The service was outstanding. Geartrade is like Michelin service of retail. I will make all efforts going forward to purchase all my outdoor gear from Geartrade.

I dealt with both Jesse and Michelle with my purchase and they were great. GearTrade will be my first stop when purchasing high quality outdoor gear and it helps that they are a small Canadian business.

I purchased a pair of micro spikes last month. I have used them twice now, and they ave performed just as expected. Delivery was fast and easy, the pricing was great and it was nice to be able to support a local business.

Great experience, we were looking for a specific tent (Nemo Dagger Osmo 3P), and Jessie was extremely helpful with our purchase! We are looking forward to many backcountry trips with our new tent!

Found out about GearTrade on a backpacking facebook group when I asked "Where in Canada can you find Ultralight and thru hiking gear? ". Seemingly it is the only place in Canada that carries many of these brands and caters to the UL and thru hiker community. Aside from so many brands not being available here, it costs an arm and a leg if you want to get stuff shipped from the states so I was so glad to find GearTrade. Additionally I found out the warehouse is actually nearby in Okotoks and the warehouse is open to customers on an appointment basis. Wen't and checked it out today and I was like a kid in a candy store. Only the best outdoor UL brands and the coolest accessories (and there were some great sales and deals not usually found with UL gear). Dehydrated meal selection was also amazing. Owner is super friendly as well and says if there is anything they don't have he is happy to try and get it. Highly recommend this store and hope they are able to grow this business as Canada deserves better outdoor gear selection.

This place is awesome! Great prices with top on the line products for camping, hiking and just getting out into nature. Won't find better prices anywhere else.

What a great small Canadian business! Price service and a selection of items that the larger retailers in Canada cannot match. Jesse listens to his customers and finds the items they truly want, then backs it with great service. If there is ever an issue my experience with Geartrade is that it gets resolved right away.

Ordered an EE quilt through Geartrade and Jesse let me know promptly that the specs I ordered was not in stock and that he had one coming in through his next shipment. Jesse also updated me on the progress and the expected shipping date from his shop. The quilt arrived and I couldn’t be any happier! Purchased my Toakes pot and Nyloflume liner from Jesse at Geartrade. The service is absolutely phenomenal! Would highly recommend shopping here. I ordered last Thursday on Sept 15 and my shipping said my order wouldn’t get there till Sept 23-31. I ended up getting it Sept 16 the day after my order was put in. I needed some gear for a trip coming up quite quickly and Jessie assured me that he could ship the gear I needed almost immediately. There is fantastic selection, great explanations, and amazing prices. As well, I was able to speak with Jessie and he gave me recommendations based on the types of trips I'm looking to do. This is the only place I will buy gear from, from now on.

My husband and I hike out shortly for our first WCT experience. Being new to longer hikes we (I) needed help! The fine folks at Geartrade have answered all our questions (even ones that weren’t gear related) and have been amazing! Their videos on Facebook were extremely helpful. Just placed our third and final order. 90% of our gear was outfitted through them and I never once felt like I was being “sold” anything! All interactions have been done online and I’m 110% confident in all of our gear now!

Never been to the store, as I'm a few provinces away, but I did place an order on their online shop. They've got a great selection of items especially from some much harder to find brands. They were also very flexible when I wanted to add an item to an order I had already placed. They carry Peak Refuel meals, for the lowest prices I have seen anywhere!

Ordered a sleep system from Jesse for an upcoming backcountry elk hunt. Got some good advice and suggestions over a few emails back and forth. The gear shipped quickly. Looking forward to testing it out.

I first found out about Jesse and GearTrade after joining the West Coast Trail Facebook page.
Once my friend and I decided that we were going to do this hike, I knew that Jesse was my go-to for questions and gear. Even though I don't even live close to the store!

He was very gracious enough to talk on the phone with me and go over different specifications so I could narrow down different types of equipment that would work best for me and was just so knowledgeable and friendly.

Fast forward 6 months later and I ended up having a sleeping issue and with only a few weeks to go before we leave for the trail, Jesse was fantastic with helping me sort out the situation and made me feel better and shipped everything out so quickly to me.
I'm all set and feeling confident with my new sleep system now.

Wow what can I say, Jesse knows his stuff. If I could I would rate my experience as 6 stars. Jesse took the time to review all my gear before my journey along the West Coast Trail. He gave me great pointers, great gear and saved me some money. Biggest pain, was I had to return everything to MEC as I ended up sourcing everything through him. 10/10 would recommend Jesse to anyone looking for outdoor gear. I love that i don't have to shop around for hours looking for the best deal on gear i can trust.all the homework has been done and only they only carry the best gear at the best prices (they often even beat other stores sale/clearance prices). On top of that they they are super helpful, responsive, and personable.i stopped shopping anywhere else and am now a repeat customer (just got a new tent, water filter, and sleeping gear; they sent it rushed within a hour).

I ordered several items including a Granite Gear Blaze 60 backpack. I received them in perfect condition and exactly as I ordered. The transaction went smoothly. The time to shipping was more than satisfactory. The actual shipping was relatively long compared to other shipping methods but this is due to Canada Post which is subpar. In summary, I'm quite happy with the experience. I'll buy again from GearTrade. By the way, the Granite Gear Blaze 60 is such a nice backpack. Very well made. Exactly what I wanted. Thanks!

My wife recommended GearTrade after hearing about it from a friend. I needed a pack for an upcoming trip. Jesse was absolutely fantastic. It was by appointment so he was able to give us the time and attention needed to find the perfect pack. He never rushed me and made sure I tried at least 3 of his top picks before making a decision. When the fit wasn't right he told me exactly why and then tried to adjust each to make it even better. We were there for an hour and left feeling so good about the selection. Just getting around to this but last summer I decided to get a little more into hiking and backpacking and needed some major upgrades. I was lucky someone recommended Gear Trade. Got some awesome deals, great info, some great quality new gear. Very knowledgeable and great to deal with! And to boot my first backpacking trip on the Rockwall Trail I hit some serious weather including downpours, hail, snow and wind. I was well prepared!

I live 2.5hrs out Calgary and needed a sleeping pad at the last minute. I knew the big retailers couldn’t get it to me in time. Gear Trade had it in stock, and stepped up and immediately shipped expresspost. Can’t say enough about the awesome response and service!

After spending several weeks researching gear, comparing prices and all that jazz, my partner and I heard about Jesse and geartrade and figured we should check it out.we are incredibly happy we did, Jesse was unbelievably supportive, helpful and wildly passionate about what he does.
In a few short weeks, my partner and I will be doing the west coast trail. We had been feeling a little under prepared, until we walked in and Jesse guided us through everything we would need to know, or even want to know.
