Ginger Beef Express

Surprised got the low score. This place has solid good. Ginger beef and calamari are both some of the best in the city. Second only to silver dragon imo

Food was ready when I arrived.
The dinner for two offered nice size portions.
The food was hot and well packaged.

This was the worse food I’ve purchased ever. We ordered the dinner for 2.

The ginger beef was dry and flavorless. The rice tasted like it was 10yrs old, and the spring rolls were completely vile. They has such a bad taste I couldn’t finish even one. The chow Mein was also dry and the chicken in that didn’t seem real at all. Rubbery and completely flavorless.
Don’t ever eat here. Nothing is made fresh with good ingredients. By the taste the food is probably from a box in the frozen section in a grocery store. But that even tastes better than this garbage.

Ordered on their website & am used to online ordering where the tip defaults to a percentage, so there ended up being no tip (not on purpose). Upon receiving my order, there was a comment saying "No delivery charge should tips". Food was good, but didn't appreciate the passive aggressive comment.

Our first time ordering from this restaurant. We ordered the wonton soup, which tasted like water, no taste at all. The ginger beef and ginger chicken was tough. The beef and veggy dish has vegetables that were not fresh. We will not be ordering from this place again, overpriced and underwhelming food.

Edit: they made it up by driving to my place and giving me my refund, apologized and gave me ginger beef. That right there is what customer service should be. For them to make it up that way, is good customer service. So changing it to 3 stars

Will never recommend this, avoid it. Went for a pickup and one of our order is burnt, usually if it’s not that bad it is still edible, but this isn’t even edible. Called to make a complain, didn’t even get an offer to have it replaced instead was told to drive back there to get my refund! Poor customer service!

Spent $105 on take out
We could barely eat the salt and pepper squid and chicken and cashews I bean sauce
Dumplings were tough
All good was cold
Terrible experience

If you value your and your families health and well-being, you should be very cautious about ordering any food from this location. AB Health Services ordered this place to shut down on 12/31/21 due to (here is only a sample of the published order) :
a. Food preparation continued after a verbal closure order was issued.b. The integrity of both grease interceptors was compromised resulting in sewage leaking
onto the kitchen floor.c. Foods such as beansprouts, noodles, garlic-in-oil, eggs and deep fried meats were stored
without any means of temperature control. These foods measured 12.0 to 39.4 degrees
Celsius.d. Raw chicken and squid were thawing in stagnant water in the sink basin. These foods
measured 7.2 and 12.3 degrees Celsius.e. The kitchen probe thermometer was unable to provide an accurate temperature reading.f. Processed green peppers were stored directly in a cardboard box that previously contained
raw meats.g. A container of raw meats was stored directly on beansprouts in the walk-in cooler.

The owner should be ashamed!

The food has always been delicious However, tonight January 1st New Years Day was very disappointing. I found a rubber band in the salt and pepper squid. I’m very lucky I didn’t choke. I wondered why the squid tasted disgusting, it was a rubber band! Feeling disappointed. I spent over $100. Dollars glad this happened to me and not our guest.

Place is a great consistent Chinese take away. The people behind the counter are always really nice and it's fast fresh food.have and will always return. Just wish it was a little cheaper as I would be there more often.

One Star! Food tasted stale, overcooked and greasy. Wasn’t sure if the chicken was actually chicken. Worse than food court Chinese food. 0/10 would not recommend

The best ginger beef I ever tasted in Calgary, golden crispy, also the Shanghai noodle was amazing, great price and big portions, give it a try and you will enjoy it.

I foind peices of plastic packaging in the noodles I ordered. Also, the ginger beef was burnt. It made me sick.

Place an order for pickup for ginger beef and Chow Mein noodles with beef, The ginger beef sauce was completely burntAnd the kid working the front desk decided to argue with meAnd tell me that it's always that way When the one in Brentwood Sure doesn't do it that wayAnd received the wrong order of chow mein. Had to take it backAnd the kid working the front desk still wanted to argue with me. They will never receive our business again. Brentwood Will keep our business moving forward and had to take it back the second time due that the noodles were still cruncky and the kid working reception dest said it is supposed to be that way and I am wrong. Got a full refund and still need to speak with Ray the owner. The kid wouldn't tell me his name. Horrible Service.

Got Ginger Chicken, Mixed Veggies, Rice and Spring Rolls.
After attempting to chew a piece of ginger chicken, I gave up and spit it out realizing that the entire piece was simply a huge chunk of gristly fat that had been breaded and cooked.put it aside and tried another piece.again. I could hardly bite through it, it was like chewing rubber. I spat it out and pulled apart a new piece.it was 100% gristle and fat with a few stringy bits of chicken meat.
After looking through the container I realized that in the entire order of ginger chicken.there wasn't a single piece of meat. The entire order was breaded waste chicken parts.

The MOST DISGUSTING chinese food I have EVER had.
AVOID AT ALL COST!
Entire container of Ginger Chicken went in the garbage, couldn't eat a single piece.

Best salt and pepper squid and ginger beef dish in town, Testate way better than other places. Must try!

Very pleased with the service. The gentleman up front greeted me and took my order swifty. I sat down to wait and within a few minutes I was headed out the door with my food. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my order to find 12 dumplings instead of 10. You made my day, thank you. I will definitely be back.

This is Chinese Food as good as it gets. I usually like to make my own but decided to try this after having done many errands. I was pleasantly surprised by the great taste of the food and the portions. Also in the quickness of service. We had a Ginger Beef, Beef Broccoli and a chicken Fried rice, I think this is hard to beat.

The food was so disappointing. Ginger beef with no sauce.paid $13 for about 4 cups of chicken fried rice.zero flavor and not sure where the chicken was. Not at all the standard that used to be.

It’s a nice experience to have Chinese food here. Salt pepper squid and ginger beef are my favorite!

Save your money, this is a chinese place like others. Nothing new, Rip off, I ordered Singapore noodles with shrimp.and guess what I got? Two pounds of noodles and 4 tiny shrimps, I posted a photo of this in here. They would not see my business anymore!

“Poor management “

We have ordered and been a customer of this location for a number of years. Generally the food quality, service and people have been good and always standing behind any issues with errors etc. Today we ordered our Friday night dishes and ended up with an extra dish that we did not order and if the order was read back to me I would of caught the error, however this was not done by the person at the restaurant. Not realizing the errors we used a coupon for a discount on dumplings. Once we received the order we called and let the lady know we didn’t order the extra chowmein. Instead of them just providing a 12.00 credit I wasted 20 minutes on the phone where the woman who took the order went back and forth the the manager who’s answer was pickup the chowmein and the dumplings from our house to provide a 12.00 credit for an error they made. I explained we had been long term customers and the dumplings were already have eaten as this took so long to resolve. At the end of the day I gave up and clearly customer service and satisfaction didn’t seem to be an issue for this location. Advice, check your bill and get them to read your order back before you hang up.

Great taste and huge portions. I had food delivered and everything was amazing. Try the Almond Ghai Ding. Delicious.

It is only take out not eat in place, the food was very good and reasonably-priced, the service was good we didn't order in advance we ordered when we got there and our food was done in 10 minutes we ordered a vegetable dish Ginger Beef and beef and broccoli.

I had the Ginger Beef lunch meal. Very fast and tasty. Door & internet said they open at 4pm but this was at noon. Would have again if I was in the area.

Excellent food, my favorite dishes are ginger beef, palace style chicken and of course the best salt and pepper squid in Calgary. The staff work hard to make ginger beef crowfoot a good culinary experience. My family has always ordered from ginger beef crowfoot. Keep up the good work.

Ordered chicken fried rice, beef & broccoli, and chicken chow mein and all the dishes tasted exactly the same, no taste. The chicken fried rice was just brown colored rice, I didn't see any chicken and none of the other stuff that's usually in there. The chicken in the chow mein tasted like it was boiled, no flavour whatsoever. Terrible, terrible food.

Never fresh, the veggies are old, the ginger beef is always soggy. I refuse to order after the last 2 time I ordered from here.
