Definitely a love/hate relationship with this place, wish they offer more meat flavours and dishes, also they removed the free karaoke when you dine in which sucks
It's was a good experience, meat were fresh and well seasoned, seafood was previously frozen but it was good. Service was good too. Atmosphere was calm and relaxing, staff were friendly and polite, price was reasonable. All in all good experience. I would recommend this place to others.
Ginseng is by far my favourite Korean bbq restaurant in Edmonton. I have tried every one in the city with the exception of 1 on Calgary Trail. 41$/person for all you can eat with a great selection of meat and sides. Karaoke as well on site which offers great party options. Staff is always kind and very accommodating. This has been and will always be a go to staple for me whenever I want great quality meat, fun eating experience, and a very unhealthy amount of meat consumption per visit haha
Such a great place for korean buffet/unli. The food was awesome also their service. Everytime we go in Edmonton, we always have time to eat here. I remembered the incident we came here last year December, I'm craving for korean buffet because I'm pregnant. It's almost their closing time but the owner is very nice, she still let us to eat. We'll never forget that. Your money is worth here Good food, good service. Keep it up
First time! The host was amazing taking the time to explain how it all works! All u can eat too! So no one left hungry! Had a part of 6 of 4 adults and two kids and food for everyone! Unlimited pop for the kids and adults! Priced just right that u leave full and actually happy!
Lots of food selection and atmosphere is great. All you can drink on the pop and juice as well. You won't find anything better. Price is a bit high at roughly 38 per person but you get what you pay for
My bf and I come here almost every week mostly because he always craves for kbbq and Ginseng has always been consistent with their food quality. I love the seafood and meat variations they offer although I miss the squids. And I just wish they don’t charge for karaoke use anymore when you dine in.
Great value here to get your all you can eat meat fix. Plenty of options from chicken, beef, pork, mussels and shrimp, spicy and non spicy. Quality of the meat is not bad but I did have to spit out a lot of gristle. Burners are swapped out frequently which is great since most of the marinades burn quickly leaving a lot of charred residue. Free soda refills at the self serve machine was a nice bonus. This place is busy so get here early if you want to find parking close by. It was a struggle to waddle back to the car.
Food was good and service was okay. It kinda bothered my mother that the top surfaces are noticeably dusty/oily, while the floor is sticky and oily, other than that it was good
First time at Ginseng restaurant the other day with some friends for a birthday. Personally I’m a huge fan of Korean BBQ so I was super excited to check them out! Ginseng did not disappoint! The food and selection was fantastic and all the staff we dealt with were a lot of fun! The prices overall we’re actually fairly low and we will forsure be coming back!
Place is clean and service is prompt and friendly. Good variety of food available (both raw and hot/cold eats). My husband and I both agree that the food quality is consistent and tastes great! I do find some of the marinaded meats a bit salty at times. But overall still enjoyable. It does get quite smoky inside if there’s more people. And your clothing does tend to smell like Korean BBQ post. Lol
Ginseng was an immaculate experience! The price was great! And service was very attentive, I loved how they changed the hot plates periodically! Loved the options they had and the selection of food, meats, veggies and soups! My personal favourites were the fried rice, top sirloin, and the bean sprouts! Definitely coming back here to do karaoke!
I always like to start most experiences with “don’t judge a book by its cover. ” to fully enjoy and accept the experience. The interior was not much to be spoken of and the buffet style meat selection was a bit daunting. The meat and their presentations had me guessing as to what I was getting was the meat the small hand written label proposed. In any case beside the dirty glasses you can fill you own drinks to enjoy, it wasn’t until the paint from the ceiling began to fall upon our food that I couldn’t make the best of it anymore. The smoke that bellows out from the cooking experience as you look above has caused the paint to chip which results in my case with watching it fall upon my friends arm and then into our food as we ate. I can’t say much more about the experience cause money at that point didn’t matter with it being over priced, and the food which scared me. It was the paint on my food that made this the last time I’ll ever go and also remember as i paid the bill and kindly mentioned. Be warned as not to say it’s only my experience you should make judgement on, maybe yours will be better or maybe you don’t mind a little paint here and there. Jus cause it’s all you can eat doesn’t mean it’s all you wanna eat.
Excellent food—you grill your selected meat plus it’s an all-you-can-eat place. The price can be a little expensive since there’s not a lot of side dishes but it’s fun to go here with family and friends. Will come back here for sure!
We go here every time we feel like eating buffet/eat all you can. If you want to have meat barbecue, this is a good place to be. The service is awesome! Friendly staff. Always satisfied ️
I am featuring Ginseng Restaurant. It is a korean barbecue buffet. At about $38 per person I can’t say its the best value but the food is really good. This is a buffet of only some already cooked dishes and a good selection of raw meats and seafood and veggies to grill on your own at each table. I really enjoyed the marinated meat selections (bulgogi and galbi) as they were the most flavourful. I enjoyed all the korean side dishes as well. The kimchi they make isn’t very good in my opinion but everything else was good. Drinks come with the price as well as complimentary karaoke for a few hours. Parking in a sense is limited as its located on a fairly small strip. The servers and staff are extremely welcoming and accommodating. Come and try for yourself.

First of all if you go here to eat you must also take advantage of the two hours of free karaoke that come with the food. It's fantastic and they have English songs of you don't speak Korean. The food is pretty good. Buffet style vegetables and meat which you cook at your table.
This should be named Gangnam restaurant as shown by the pictures. The portions are good sized and affordable. Be ready to eat like you’re on a Korean street as it can be real busy!
It is pricey at like $40/pp for dinner buffet. But great selection for meat etc Service is great and they're quite attentive and will come change your grill regularly so that you're not cooking your food on charred black grills lol.
For an all you can eat Korean BBQ for $37 per person, there are over 10 choices of meat to choose from, and two soup options but not many choices on the side dishes. After your dinner you can choose to use one of their 4 karaoke rooms for a complimentary 2 hr session and can order food/drinks off their karaoke food/drinks menu. Remote is in Korean but they have a sheet in English to explain the remote buttons.
Fabulous service at Ginseng! We never had to ask for anything because the staff always made sure our cups were filled with drinks and the grill was changed when need be. They also made sure our table was clean of any unused dishes. There weren't as many marinated meats as other places but everything was still delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and felt welcomed as soon as we walked in. We absolutely loved the two hours of free karaoke afterwards too.
Food was great, there's alot of stuff to choose from, so no matter what you're taste is, you'll probably have a good time. Seeing as it's a Korean bbq place, I felt like the exhaust vents could have been a little stronger, but all in all I had a great time. Will definitely visit again as soon as I can.
This is an AUCE Korean BBQ place. The selection of meat was ok, quality wise was also ok. Not much selection though from the self serve bar. For dessert they only have fresh cut oranges and apples. The servers are quick to change your grill once it gets too dark from cooking. The cost was around $39 including tax. Nice thing about coming here is that if you like to karaoke, you get two hours free after your dinner.
Just ate here for the first time. Enjoyed the experience until I made the mistake of using the bathroom which looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in a decade or so. The floors are very sticky and the kitchen looked frankly kind of gross from an outside view. Both myself and a friend that I went with were really sick very shortly after we left. Do not recommend.
Great evening bbq buffet, all you can eat and self serve hot plates and cold meat for Korean style hot plate bbq, for hot items they always have 2 soups (one spicy), fried rice, a stir fry tofu and kimchi, for cold meat they have top sirloin, back bacon, lamb, sliced marinated spicy pork, spicy chicken, sweet chicken, shrimp, squid and mussel. Soft drinks included. They will offer to change your grilled plate every 15 mins or so. Place is clean in general, watch out for slippery tile floor, bathroom is below average cleanliness.
Fantastic experience. The marinated meats are super tasty and the service is very friendly and consistent. Bacon, pork belly, beef, lamb, chicken, squid, shrimp.great selection. Veggies and fruit too if you wanna get creative with your grilling.
When we were done with our bill, our server offered us 2 hours of karaoke for free. And the karaoke rooms are very modern with an incredible audio setup and massive selection.
Dining and unexpected karaoke. A beautiful mix! Ginseng gets my highest recommendation.
