We owned a condo in the Greystones for many years and the last couple years Go Smart had taken over the management of the property. Brandon and his staff were always very attentive and helpful and called back very soon after any messages I had left. I can't thank them enough for the assistance they provided in helping us to sell our condo in August of 2023.

We are very pleased with this townhouse/condominium furnace. With respect to anyone considering the installation of a heat pump in high latitude/elevation regions such as Alberta a close economic look at the SPARK SPREAD.is your critical starting point.

SPARKSPREAD is an engineering term for a cost comparison between the cost of electricity versus the cost of natural gas as it relates, in this case, to BTU heat output for winter dwelling.

Currently the cost of electricity is so far above that of natural gas that installation of a Heat pump that is entirely reliant on electricity is POINTLESS.

SPARK-SPREAD Analysis can be done by any APEGA registered Engineering firm that deals with natural gas and electrical grid power.

OMG WHERE TO BEGIN.
This is the most unprofessional disaster of a company. To name a few of the problems, let’s start with un-authorized transactions off of my credit card. A member of their staff, Brandon Prochnavy, got into a verbal altercation with me over the phone when I requested video surveillance of a parkade break-in, which I was collecting for the police! Brandon prochnavy was also completely uncooperative over my asking for video footage when I felt my safety was in danger; he said most of the cameras were FAKE and he was not obligated to let the residents of the building know that. Even when police were involved, Brandon Prochnavy stalled over a month to get me any of the break in footageWhiching on multiple occasions, like parkade/elevator door repairs; they would just be shut off or not working with no notice at all. Oh and our front entrance directory was broken for weeks, not allowing anyone to buzz in services that arrived, like package delivery, dog walkers, anything which you needed to buzz the front entrance open from your phone.
The company has MANY law suits, I cannot believe they haven’t being dissolved at this point! DO NOT move into any building that is managed by this company! You will literally lose your mind and a lot of money due to their negligence. Oh and they abruptly change their name at one point so I’m sure if you dig, the previous company name has even MORE bad reviews.

I have had excellent experiences with Go Smart on a number of different occasions. I’ve worked with them for a few years now and every person I’ve dealt with has had wonderful communication and made the entire process very easy. I very much recommend Go Smart. Thank you!

This company is backwards. Buy a condo managed by them, they provide no information (e.g. Condo fee payments), in addition to their records being incomplete during the pre-purchase document review. No welcome information provided whatsoever either. You just have to probe and probe, and dig for the information they should have at the tip of their fingers. It's also remarkable how closed the company is, from their employees on LinkedIn hiding their profiles to their own website not disclosing a single person that works there.

There are birds nests throughout all of the dryer vents at our condo "discusting". Also a pigeons nest on a damaged part of the building that has not been repaired from over a year and a half ago. Even tho several people have complained they just seem to ignore you. Would not recommend

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire existence. I have a condo at orchard sky in skyview and paid for move out security/elevator hold etc, I was sent a receipt and I sent a form to the admin stating the move out date and time. The day comes, no one shows up, I was paying my movers by the hour so it took considerably long. On the day I was expecting the security, I called the "emergency" number, they said they would send someone right away, of course they did not, I ended up paying my movers more cause it took them way longer.

I asked for a refund, the receptionist, Alana Hunt, obviously forgot to book me someone and she would not accept responsibility. She told me to send her proof that I sent the move out form, I did, send the email as an attachment, took screenshots etc but she was still claiming she could not see it. I asked to speak to the property manager TIM, but she wouldnt let me, she said she talked to him privately and the case was closed. I asked to speak to the board of directors and she wouldnt give me their details either. I was so confused to, it is clearly not about the money anymore. How can you just hire dishonest people that gaslight your customers and there are no repercussions?

I am so upset and I am glad my condo has switched management companies because this was clearly a fraudulent company. Please dont buy a condo that is being managed by these frauds.

Please do not buy or rent a property managed by this company! I have never, ever in my life experienced such incompetence from any company before. Absolutely terrible. I am actively hoping to sell my place for the sole reason of never having to deal with this company again. I know times are tough for many people, and many are desperate for places to live, but please consider all other options before ever choosing a place managed by Go Smart. If anyone has any further questions regarding my experiences, please feel free to reach out, I’m more than happy to share my awful experience (s). Just so many issues and concerns that I can’t possibly fit into a brief review.

I have been dealing with SK as I had a leak in my bathroom and needed guidance with dealing with my home owners insurance. Sk was very prompt and professional in his replies to my countless emails to him. He also arranged for a contractor to arrive same day to inspect the potential damage.
Great dealing with you Sk and thank you for all of your help during this stressful time for me.

Very poor management company, Go Smart is totally opposite to what their name entails. NOT SMART by any means possible.

Terrible organization. Lack of communication and respect. I had to chase them down for information as a potential renter and in the end they didn't even bother contacting me for a follow up. If they are like this prospective renters I would hate to see them as managers.

Building is quite literally over run with pigeons and the property manager refuses to take any action to deal with the unsightly, hazardous situation.balconies have become unusable in the building due to door management and neglect.avoid living in an property managed by this establishment.

I'm trying to figure out how such a disastrous company is still able to be up and running. Landlord? Tenant? Doesn't matter, you don't mean anything to them but a dollar number. I've been 8 months without a toilet and they are no where to be found. How is this legal? Serious question. If you're a renter, AVOID this company at all costs. 0 stars.

I am essentially copying another persons review on here as we had the same situation happen with us:
I rarely write reviews but I've been looking to find a place in Calgary and dealing with Debbie at Go Smart Property managers has been an absolutely terrible experience. I coordinated with my cousin to do the in-person showing on my behalf. And he sat outside the property for 30 minutes, Debbie replied once to his text messages then ghosted us - Sending all calls straight to voicemail. I am extremely disappointed as I was really looking forward to this particular viewing. And just confused as to why you would not have the human decency to at least say that you can not make it to the showing. No respect.

Shortly after taking over the building fees were raised by 10%, even with an ample reserve. In exchange we got a company that could barely complete the simplest services; such as answering the phone. The smart move is to never gosmart.

I cant believe how frustrating this joke of a company is. My unit flooded back in April and they have been giving me the biggest run around from giving me false quotes to never answering or replying to calls or email. Im dealing Angueli and its been a nightmare my unit is completely ripped apart and they are doing nothing to help.

As a condominium we have seen quite a number of management company come and go. The latest one called GOSMART has been hands-on in establishing protocols and has been very responsive so far. Good job for all of you at GOSMART!

I am a real estate agent who just recently represented a seller in a building managed by GoSmart. The condo document reviewer found some "concerns" that would have cost my sellers the sale so I reached out to Shaun multiple times throughout the transaction for various documents and emails, and he never failed to get me what I need in a timely manner. I needed something really urgent from him on Friday evening and I was able to get a hold of him through some board members and he really came through for me and provided me with all of the information I needed to ensure my client didn't lose the sale of his condo and it wouldn't have been possible without Shaun. I know I will have no issues working with them in the future!

As a condo owner and past member of the board of directors, I dealt with this company for over ten years, first as Acclaim and then when they changed over to GoSmart. Very poor quality customer service consisting of no responses to emails or phone calls, no care for the quality of contractors hired and very unprofessional. I would never recommend this company to anyone and please believe the negative reviews on here, because they are true.

I was formerly a tenant at one of their buildings and they have been completely unresponsive. I called, emailed and went to the office in person to get a response that they understood I was vacating the apartment and it took multiple attempts to get their acknowledgement. Even though they acknowledged, they took an unauthorized month's rent out of my account and despite multiple emails, calls and a visit to their office, they have yet to return my money, made any attempt to return my damage deposit, or even made any contact at all. Under no circumstances would I have anything to do with this company and if you do expect to have to make a claim with the government to get your money back.

We moved here from Europe needed somewhere but didn't do our research good enough. I am sad to say I have tried working with Go smart Property management, the worst I have ever experience and I have lived in 7 different countries and worked. Extremely poor customer service, they do not respond to emails, phone calls, text messages or any kind of communication. If you’re seeking to rent with them, they will be excellent at first; once you sign, at least you’re a sitting duck waiting for your lease to be up. And you better be handy, be an exterminator to get your own things done. I rent a unit from them, and there are mice I sent photos in and nothing done? Water damage- nothing done, unsafe raw electrical wires- nothing done. Neighbours in the same building with antisocial behaviour smoking “ marijuana“ in a non-smoke building fighting all time day and night -nothing was done.
I am so unhappy with gosmart.
Heidi Semotiuk And Abril Laroche reply’s are insulting, rude and unprofessional, with no customer service, although she said she has ten years of experience. She doesn't answer questions, and if she does, it is part of the questions, never the question itself. You have to email like four times; if you even get a reply, then that's a lucky day. Ming will reply but very far and between. I would advise you strongly to go other places do your research before you rent, don’t make the same mistake we did. It is so sad; it is so so unprofessional and so sorry. If I could give -10, I would. So sad.

I rarely write reviews but I've been looking to find a place in Calgary and dealing with Heidi Semotiuk at Go Smart Property managers has been an absolutely terrible experience. I was very interested in setting up a virtual viewing for a place that was for rent. Heidi wasn't quick to reply to my email but did get back to me. She let me know that virtual showings were not an option - something I thought was odd in the middle of a pandemic. As I live out of town, I coordinated with a friend to do the in-person showing on my behalf. In emailing and coordinating this with Heidi, I asked her 7 times what the square footage of the place was as I wouldn't be able to see the place myself. Each time I asked she blatantly ignored my question. Then, when my friend went to meet her for the showing she did not show up. Nobody reached out to me, or my friend, and when we called the number she provided it went to voicemail. I emailed Heidi asking about what happened. She didn't get back to me until the next day and replied that they cut the showings short and weren't able to reach out to anyone or notify parties. All of her correspondence came off as rude and short. I'd give this company zero stars for their customer service if I could. The place looked great on paper but I think I dodged a bullet. Can't imagine being a paying tenant of a property managed by this company.

I emailed Maria Cabrera from the Go Smart Property requesting a copy of our 2020 condo fee. I was surprised how quick the response was (less than 10 minutes). If one can only have an employee like Maria, no problem. I think she is an asset to this company. Keep up the good work. Stay safe.

They bought MCM management company that was a very bad company that managed our condo building. It went from bad to worst. When you call them they never answer their phone, when you email it takes for ever for them to answer your email. We went from Nicole to Cheryl and both of them don’t know anything about property management. I never recommended MCM management and I would never recommend Go Smart. Not sure why they choose this name as they are certainly not smart people working there.

Anyone who has left a positive review of Go Smart formerly MCM is a complete lie. I cannot believe for one second you enjoyed any sort of experience dealing with this company. I have consistently delay with incompetence and neglect from day 1 with this company. A year ago they mishandled my banking information where I paid my monthly condo fees. Then they tried to send me a bill of NSF fees, late fees and interest charges. I sent numerous emails with proof that they lost my information and it took them months to finally respond. Another recent issue is they are imposing an additional monthly fee to people who pay via e-transfer. How else am i suppose to pay my fees now as they've proven they cannot be trusted with your personal information.

I looked into this company and they wouldnt respond. When I eventually got a response I decided to state my concern about their horrible communication in which the employee then got very upset, cursed me out, and hung up. I still to this day have not recieved any apology.

I can certainly recommend GoSmart Property Managers, our building had a bumpy start with a certain property manager assigned that was non-responsive. Luckily GoSmart leadership stepped in as soon as the issues were raised and resolved the situation quickly. We now have a new manager assigned to our property and the experience so far has been excellent. Responsive, Collaborative and Friendly.

We have worked for this management company as a plumbing contractor for a while now and we have always had a great experience with them, also we appreciate the hard work they do. I highly recommend them as a property management company as this is definitely one of the top companies in Calgary!
Recently I have started to interact with Shelley Hammerli, and she is amazing on responding and on communication.overall great to deal with!
We valve the relationships we have built with all the property managers with Go Smart! Great Job done by all of them, keep up the great work!

Cassidy Donnif was very helpful in explaining chargebacks to me. Originally I called him upset that I had to pay for my zone valve repair. I called him “the Darth Vader of property management” and stated that the building should pay for it. “Mmmm.read your condo bylaws you should” he replied in a Yoda voice. He was correct. Thanks Cassidy!

I have lived at a property managed by Shaun for the past 3 years. Shaun is committed to helping owners feel at home in their units. As a property manager, Shaun isn't able to make some decisions on behalf of the Board, but he is efficient in forwarding the responses, following up with the Board for their response, and getting back to me. Often, he will also check in afterward to ensure there are no remaining questions. I've also appreciated Shaun's help when looking for professionals to work within the unit on matters such as plumbing as he helped me find trustworthy and affordable contractors. His communications are always professional but friendly and he never forgets any conversation no matter how long has passed. Thank you for your hard work!

As current president of a condominium complex, I would highly recommend Go Smart. I have dealt with Shaun and Loretta mostly, and they are a totally dedicated team of professionals in the field. They are extremely committed to providing responsive and timely communications whenever required. My experience with them has always been positive, efficient and trustworthy. Shaun is extremely methodical and transparent with his approach and finds the best solutions for us to work with within our budget. E- mail and voice mail messages are always answered promptly and all matters big or small are dealt with. Monthly board meetings and AGM s are held regularly and all pertinent matters and financial reports are discussed with board members input and decision making. It is a great "partnership "
I would say that we have an excellent relationship with management at GoSmart and are looking forward to working with them in the future.

As a former condo owner, my experiences over the past 18 months with this company as well as their former companies prior to their mergers overall are poor. The property manager was unresponsive or slow to respond with all correspondence and was difficult to deal with during the sale of my unit and inquiries to the Board of Directors regarding conditions of sale. In addition, after the sale of my unit I continued to received mail outs from the PM as I had not been removed from their lists.
After being a condo renter, condo property owner and condo board director in the Calgary area for over 20 years, my overall experience with any condo management company has been fair to poor at best. These companies are often over priced, under staffed, and poorly organized.
I would not recommend Ellen, Cassidy or any of their team to any Condo Board looking for a new management company.

Go Smart Property Managers took over my buildings account in the Summer. Based on their initial email I thought they would be a positive change. Boy was I disappointed!
Reading the reviews below, I can agree that they lack customer service and management skills.
Emails are never returned and if they are it's not in timely manner. When they are returned, they are in a rude and disrespectful tone. They lack the ability to resolve issues in a timely manner and notify the building that they are aware of the problem and are working on it.
I worry that if something serious happens it will never be resolved or will be a fight due to the lack of communication and follow-up by their team.
If you are looking for a property management company, I would stay clear of this one.
I will be requesting my board look at changing companies as I have zero faith in Go Smart Property Managers.

Save your money and your customers! Absolutely the worst management company to have represent you. If you can go anywhere else, do so! I don’t want to call anyone out, but if I owned that company I would do a serious review of the personnel. One bad apple does spoil the bunch.

I've served on condo boards for two properties, the first one with Go Smart assigned by the builder and the second where I requested Go Smart to take over due to the terrible service of the previous management company. Without a doubt Go Smart has never failed to impress me with their commitment to service and the willingness to go above and beyond to guide the owners in best practices. I would not hesitate to recommend Go Smart for any condo management needs.

I have been an owner of a townhouse Condo Corporation for 14 years, I have been a part of the board for 13 of these years and have nothing but the upmost support for Go Smart Property Management and everything they do to be a successful company and property management business.

GO Smart goes the extra mile and brings communication into the new Millennium and with such has made being a part of a Condo much more pleasing.

GO SMART answers all concerns promptly and with professionalism, they are worth every penny we spend to be a part of our Corporation.

I plan to use them for many more years

I live in a condo managed by this company (recent switch from MCM). The hot water went down, so I called to get it fixed. Ellie helped me and she had someone over within 2 hours. I received calls from her to update me on what was going on and when I could expect a plumber. She also gave me her cell phone number so I could call her directly (just in case). I appreciated that.
