Amazing plants and staff! All of the plants are amazingly taken care of and they even provide some pretty cool deals. Everything is priced super well, definitely recommend! They’ve got a TON of selection.

We have been long time customers when we need plant food in the summer or going there to see new Christmas items that other places do not carry always enjoyable pricing is a little high but to be expected to supply chain issues

I'm giving 5 stars all because of a wonderful woman who works there named Melissa! Her incredible knowledge and customer care helped us start tackling a spider mite infestation we got on half our indoor plants. Definitely will be back here after the incredible experience and to top it off the selection here is incredible!

Called here before driving from Airdrie for a staghorn sumac and the staff said they had it, but they did not. A waste of a trip for me

I'm not sure, but it might be the largest garden centre in Calgary. It features a good selection of trees, outdoor and indoor plants, as well as all the tools and supplies that go with them. The staff is much more knowledgeable than in big box stores. The large parking lot can get clogged on weekends during planting season so try to go on weekdays if possible. There's a 15% discount for seniors so it's a good excuse to take Granny along.

Golden Acre has one of the biggest selection of home decor that will go with your garden and home I've seen. You can spend lots of time looking at everything. The plants are so healthy and lots of variety. There is plenty of stock for your gardening needs.

I have been looking for a top grafted tree option for my backyard for the last few years. I started phoning Golden Acres last year to determine when new stock might come in during the year and especially for the Spring. Diane in the tree lot has been extremely professional and supportive. Her product knowledge is excellent. She called me this morning to personally advise new stock had arrived for the Spring and recommending a Nanking cherry topgraft that is very hardy and good for Zone 2. I purchased one, utilizing the senior's discount. How great is that! Now to see how it grows! Thank you Diane.

I always go here to get annuals I can't find at big box stores temporary garden centre. There is such a varied selection of bedding and indoor plants. They have various kinds of indoor potting soil I need. I could spend hours here looking at all the paraphernalia for home and garden, such a wonderful place to hang out and bring my dog. Staff are very helpful and pleasant.

Great selection! Lots of variety and beautiful art work and pieces for your garden! They are a bit pricey, but you do get strong healthy plants!

Nice medium sized greenhouse and garden center. They have a good selection of seeds and most of the seed starting supplies.

I love going here they have so many different things to look at. Like bandanas for your fur babies, decorations for your home, patio furniture and most of all plants.

I enjoy shopping here. I am in regularly and spend a decent amount annually. The problem I had was with a product i had bought on the salesperson recommendation as my usual item was out of stock. However, it's the worst PH down product I have ever used. In 15+yrs growing, I've tried them all so I can speak from experience. Of course, I have lost the receipt lol, so I'll chalk it up to live and learn. I have let the person know this so they are aware and may offer a different product to the next person. Sales people are always super friendly and go out of their way to help.
(Ammendment Feb 25/22) the customer service I have received with my issue was second to none so I have changed my review to reflect this. Im impressed but not totally surprised by this, it's why I choose to give them my business year after year.

Always a great selection of indoor plants year round and outdoor plants in the spring. I love that I could bring my dog in.

Good inventory, you'll find anything you need. I've bought a lot from them over the years. A little pricey, but all greenhouses are.

You have the most amazing staff, they are always so kind to us and our little girls, making us feel like family. It never fails, everytime we come someone stops to chat with our 5yr old - which she LOVES - being made to feel special and important during what otherwise might be a less than exciting shopping trip for her lol (I love picking plants- she will come around eventually). The inventory of plants & decor throughout each season is so well curated & the staff is so knowledgeable. I especially love getting our NS Balsam Fir each year- it makes me feel more at home having moved here from NS 6yrs ago. Thank you for all you do!

Always like going here and seeing what they have in stock. They always seem to have the largest stock and varity in town. I recommend a visit if you are missing the green and colors in your life!

I shop here frequently but I was not happy with my most recent trip. I purchased 2 pots and was not offered a bag or wrapping. I asked for a bag and the cashier gave me one but also replied "these bags are expensive and we don't want to have to increase expenses. This comment did not make me feel very welcome and I was not greeted by the cashier when I got to the till as well.

For now I think that for not I will shop at another nursery.

Always love coming to Golden Acre. While it is quite far, it’s well worth the trip as the selection and service here is simply unmatched. Be careful though- it’s the type of place you may accidentally spend an extra few hundred bucks at!

This place is so magical. It is a plant wonderland. Plants are definitely more expensive here than other places, though.

The employees here are always so friendly and knowledgeable. I really love walking around even when I know exactly what I'm looking for. I would certainly recommend you indulge your green thumb here!

Not bad but I personally find they have too many succulents and cactuses compared to other indoor plants. I also find that when I buy plants here if I need a pot for it I go elsewhere. Especially for larger sized pots they have really no selection of them. Still a good store & definitely good for those getting into gardening. I personally come here for pesticides & fertilizer more than plants.

The selection for indoor hanging tropicals was ok, they were out of hanging jug varieties of nepenthes but they had a small ground type. The prices were an issue for basket stuffers and common annuals.
A go to for centre pieces and stand out items. Staff is great and were helpful in recommending how to find either a stand in similar to what was wanted or trying the wish list. Will be back.

Great layout. Had everything we required. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Great variety. Everyday seniors get a 15% discount. Healthy plants. When you are getting serious about your garden.

I could just go here to relax amongst the house plants. They have a very good selection of well taken care of plants, as well as everything you need to start a home garden experience. They also have a cute gift shop where I can spend hours dreaming about how I want to decorate my kitchen, and home. Come here during Christmas, they have simply beautiful tree decorations!

Really wish I knew about this place before! Staff are knowledgeable, extremely helpful and prices reasonable. Also you can purchase a warranty for trees and shrubs. I bought from a different nursery last year, got very little help in regards to how to plant my trees and 4 out of 9 of them are dying. I will definitely make this place my go to for all of my future planting.

A vast garden centre with a equally large variety of perennials. Of interest, they have the Hewitt's double meadow rue showing as a zone 5 perennial. I can attest that it is one of my favourites and it comes back year after year at Shaganappi Estates.
One star withheld because of the pricing. I would love to see more promotions etc.

Great place had everything I needed. A little pricy but the plant's I wanted were there. If you looking for perennial's that grow in shade or shade & sun. They have a great selection, also they can be planted in planet's. Also they have a wide variety of pretty much ever plant's, tree's, & berry bushes.

Really good selection and great vibes! But they really need to take better care of their plants! Especially for their prices. I saw they had string of pearls (which I was struggling to find elsewhere) but it was so sad, sparce and dry that I didn't end up getting it.and I know succulents need very little water but these little cacti pots were BONE dry with inadequate soil. Lastly, I bought a Chinese money plant from here and got an extra surprise.the aphids have taken over: (

Really neat store in calgary. I always like shopping here always find the things I need and great staffs. I also want to a question for the reviewer countless claws here about cutting plants in half/ shrinking. Golden acres do not carry full load of plants all year round. They usually have stuff start of the growing season in spring so april is when they have the most stuff onwards probably until July or August. That you would have to ask staff but I been shopping here in the winter months and usually then they sell the tropicals, seeds, some herbs like rosemarry, oregano, and such, cactuses, succulents, house plants.

Picked up a couple of low cost 3 gallon pots and some bud fertilizer- received the usual top notch service

Visited this store twice this month and i wish Cashiers were nicer like the stock personnels.

Same scenario, same kind of cold treatment.

First of first, their associates are usually smiling and very helpful. However, it doesn’t look all of them are knowledgeable.

- Beautiful plants, but poor selection and super EXPENSIVE. It is better to say all items are OVERPRICED. You can find most of their product in other stores for reasonable prices and same quality. Check other stores prices before shopping here!

- The quality of their plants isn't necessary as good as they think.

- Huge parking lot and there are always lots of spaces for parking

Well... It is always overpriced and the workers eminate a feeling of superiority. Left with nothing.

Always like what they have in the store year round. Great staff often very knowledgeable and when they dont know they help you get to the person who knows.
