Gold's Gym Calgary Douglasdale

Been going to this gym for 2 years now, and I love it. The front desk workers are usually pretty great and Michelle is a sweetheart! Definitely someone i recommend to chat with if you ever need anything while attending this gym

Only good experiences so far at this location. I am really impressed with Jeremy and his customer service, he is always so warm and welcoming. I always leave the gym with a smile and wanting to come back the next day! 10/10 would recommend!

The best gym in calgary! Clean, amazing equipment, nothing broken often and if something goes it is fixed right away. I LOVE the steam room too! The people who come to workout are so friendly and hard working, great at sharing equipment. Staff are the BEST! Shout out to Liam, Jodi, Ethan, and Claudia! Love you guys so much and you make it a better experience! I also love the decor for the holidays!

Claudia was so positive and wonderful. Amazing gym offers free body scan every 3 months to check your progress.

Tried this gym today. Machines are top notch. Atmosphere is great. The steam or sauna was not working on the women's side. Aside from that I'm contemplating a membership.

I joined golds gym back in February of this year when I arrived with my fiancé we were greeted by a awesome young man name Charles he was super friendly and kind he immediately welcome made us feel at home and like we had been members of golds for ever it is because of Charles that we are members!
Also a shout out to the rest of the staff for being amazing hosts!

Wendy Rodriguez has been so wonderful! From the amazing support with childcare, always on the ball with what is happening in the gym, and the positive energy I’m always greeted with! I’m happy to be part of a gym that has wonderful staff like Wendy!

Been at golds douglasdale for a couple years now. Really appreciate how clean and spacious it. Charles was really helpful today, also the crew at night is really good. Definitely recommend coming to this specific golds.

This gym has a variety of equipment and is a very motivating environment. Love to train here. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Staff is helpful and smiling. There’s a ton of squat racks, you get free body assessments with your membership, weights go up to 160.10/10 gym

I’ve been waiting for the swim spas that they’ve been advertising since before they even opened, yet no one ever seems to have a real answer as to when (if ever) they will be available for use. I call often to check on them and and have been told they’re “set up” but not filled several times and about a month or 2 ago, that they were filled but not in use yet. This seemed hopeful. Buuut still nothing.
At this point, I don’t believe they will ever have them and were maybe never actually planning on having them period…

Ive been going to this Golds for about 1.5 years. I go really early mornings, the atmosphere, people and staff are great. I did a fitness evaluation with Claudia a few days ago, she was really knowledgeable and helpful! The next day I tried some of the adjustments we spoke about, and it worked like a charm! I could not believe it, thank you Claudia!

From over from the new GoodLife Shepard based on the desire for a more serious lifters gym with more equipment options. The equipment at Golds is next level and it has certain machines I need in my life. Only negative is it’s quite cramped. Wish there was more room but the basketball court takes up so much space although I know there’s a demand for that. Repairs can sometimes take long too but otherwise an awesome gym for everyone!

Update to below post regarding steam room and sauna. Just received a call with an update. Steam room problems fixed! Hooray. Only 6 months. Terrible. They had many excuses. Hot tub still not working which also was a selling feature of theirs. I definitely would NOT RECOMMEND GOLDS GYM in Douglasdale to anyone.

Just a big THANK YOU for my personal trainer Melissa Morrison. I have 15 years of experience and of course I thought I know everything! So wrong! Hardest workouts in my life, unbelievable progress just after a month! Definitely you know you train with a PRO. Truly recommend her for not only beginners but more advanced gym goers too.

I had my first 1-1 session with Melissa and I thought it was great! We did a full body workout and by the end of the session I burned around 800 calories. She definitely pushed me harder than I would've working out on my own. Would recommend her as a personal trainer if you want an intense workout!

Been a member for 6 months now! I did my reassessment yesterday with Claudia and she set me up with my new coach, Samuel. I just finished workout. We did core and legs and I can hardly walk haha! Thanks Golds for having all the people in place to see me through my goals

I train with Melissa Morrison at Douglasdale. She is amazing and motivates me to do my best in each training session! Not only is she clearly skilled on perfecting form and all aspects of movement and building fitness but has a encouraging and upbeat attitude. She really installs hope in me that I can reach my fitness goals! I want to thank Golds for having high quality trainers like Melissa! Thank you!

Working out here with a friend here is worth the experience, the workout machines are dope and are hella useful.

Great gym. Professional equipment. Lots of space. Beautiful atmosphere. Sauna works all the time

Absolute Worst Service and Experience I've had.
Bad Customer Service. Does not Reply/follow up. Overfilled. Doublebilling.
- Multiple double billings/extra charges/late charges even though everything was paid on time automatically. Talked to 4 front end staff and was told something different every time.
- Told my account was cancelled and later found out months later through their collections/ABC that it was active, they had just deleted all my account/card information so the charges weren't going through.
- Gym itself would be nice if equipment wasn't so jammed in that you have to stop mid set to let someone walk in front of you without hitting them while on the leg extension etc. The main dumbbells are all crammed in the corner. Also not enough cable attachments.
- Was told there was a Womens only rom being built at the time I joined, there is not.
- Staff and members do not seem to care about public health standards.
-Male employee was in Womens washroom chatting with female employee as she restocked TP.
- After trying for 5 months to get ahold of the manager, Ryan, to resolve my "cancelled" account issues with no reply except from a robot employee to say I had to come in and pay to have it cancelled again as well as pay the balance that had been accumulating.
- New manager, Diego, gave me a good offer to stay with Gold's and officially clear/delete my old account. I tried to contact him to go ahead with the new account 4 times over a month with no reply. When I called in (5th contact attempt) to ensure my old account was closed and get cancellation confirmation, he did not seem to remember me from our hour long conversation, did not seem to have gotten any of my messages, and told me he was not able to give me any proof of cancellation.
Very disappointing as I have always loved going to the gym and this location/hours would have been very convenient for me.
Update: Account finally closed.

I transferred my membership from anytime fitness and i’m so glad I did. This gym is amazing, the equipment is high end, the gym is clean, and everyone is so amazing here! I would recommend to everyone!

Diago helped me out the other day and he was efficient, funny but professional. Can't wait to use the facilities there!

I started going to GOLDS in Douglasdale with a few friends late last year. I was blown away by the open atmosphere, and GREAT SERVICE! THis is NOT a gym full of "meat heads". Everyone that work there is so nice, and accomodating. My experience was so good that I decided to get a trainer and REALLY get healthy. My trainer is Luke, and he is fantastic. He really listens to me, and what i am looking to do. Even when i told him my weight was dropping due to mental Illness, he was very concerned for me, and adjusted my workouts accordingly. He gives me great advice for eating healthy, and we just have a GREAT TIME together. I never pictured myself laughing during Leg Day.but there I am, having the best time! Even the owner is super frienly and recognizes me when Im there. When I go by myself, all the trainers are more than willing to help me with my form, and make sure Im doing the moves correctly. Joining GOLDS was the BEST decision I have made in the last 5 years! I cant say enough great things about Luke and GOLDS Gym in Douglasdale. IF you are on the fence about getting healthy. WAIT NO MORE and go RIGHT NOW!

Best golds location, great selection of machines, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. I took a star off because they still don’t have their pool set up.

Been a part of a lot of different gym brands in both Ontario and Alberta, either as a member or as a trial. Gold's is definitely up there. 365 days, 24/7. Those are magic words to a dedicated gym participant. It's pricey but it's worth it. This location specifically is fantastic. Can't really think of anything negative to say. Genuinely recommend this over any other gym, hands down. Grind on!

AMAZING GYM, CRAZY EQUIPMENT. Hard to understand the bad reviews as the GYM is not open, only open for tours.

Such a beautiful gym with the best quality equipment, the gym is huge has tons of stair masters! I’m so excited for it to open up! Definitely worth every penny! You need to go check it out! You won’t be disappointed I promise!

If your looking for the coolest looking, best equipment in the industry. What I would call the WOW factor, you need to see Golds in Douglas Dale. This will change the way you workout.

Continuing to charge people when they can't access the service should be a crime. Shut these greaseballs down. I realize this gym isnt open yet, but has the same scummy owners as the other locations.

Although this location is not open yet I’ve been going to the other locations. I find it appalling that they continue to charge me, when they’ve been closed since December 2020, our last lockdown. I wanted to freeze my membership, but golds still charges $10.50, and how ever many months you freeze, it gets tacked on at the end of your contract. This is the worst contract I have ever seen and I deeply regret signing on with Gold’s gym. They are truly crooks. I would give them zero stars but that is not an option please please reconsider signing on with this gym and if you do read over the contract thoroughly before signing
