Golf Town

Great customer service. Above & beyond. Went in to look at used drivers. Not ready for expensive brand new. Guy says hold on, I got what your lookin for. Went digging in the back lookin for the stiff shaft lefty I wanted. Ended up waking out with a brand new 3 year old Cobra for half price. Well, of course now I need a new Golf shirt to go with that.
Clearance rack had that too, 50 % off. Golf Town, population YOU!

I recently went to this golf town and was met with excellent customer service. The ladies at the front were very kind and helpful and I will be back!

Waited 10 days for them to epoxy a shaft adapter onto a club, ended up epoxying the wrong adapter onto the shaft. Never use their service department.

I went to this location on a Sunday to get new shoes and the service was brutal. Me and another guy were trying to find our sizes while two workers in the early 20’s just sat and talked for probably 15 minutes. When they finally helped they acted like it was a chore.

Found exactly what I wanted and prices r competitive, loved the layout of the sales floor and representatives were awesome

FINAL UPDATE: I had the district manager and general manager reach out to me after my initial experience. They were very remorseful about the experience and heard what I had to say. So I truly appreciate that. My husband and I plan to be back as he progresses overtime in his game. I definitely would recommend asking for extra help as there are management around if you need it. Thanks Scott and Shawn for hearing me out and rectifying the situation. It means a lot when customers are heard.

I went in and no one really helped, even if a few staff saw me. Had to go to front cashier and asked for assistance but I was told the staff in the back can help me. So I continued to wait. Mind you I am also pregnant and I am not a golfer so I felt out of place also standing around with zero assistance, but I wanted to get a set as a gift for my husband. When I finally got some assistance, I asked for recommendations for beginner sets. And the staff member helping me asked for my budget which was in lower-mid range. Told me that budget was hard to meet for golf sets and showed me 3 brands that are over $1K which he said was good for someone as a beginner but he didn’t really explain too much; just said that it comes with all the clubs. Again I don’t golf so it would have been nice to get more info. That was about 2 minutes of assistance and he told me if I had other questions then I can ask him. I did see a set that may be within my price range and I was told it was women’s. I saw him help a mother and son prior to and was completely taking his time so it was a bit off putting that there was a lack of customer service on my end.

I went to browse the Golf Town website and found sets that are within my price range that was available in store that wasn’t shown to me. I am adamant to return to this store after my experience. If I was to return, I would just grab what I wanted off the website and be on my way or see if I can get better service at a different Golf Town location or via their website.

UPDATE: My thoughts haven’t changed, but I really wanted to get the golf clubs for my husband in time for Father’s Day but DO NOT want to deal with the staff after my bad experience with them, so I got my brother to go back and grab the golf clubs for me. He had no issues.

Overwhelmed by all the info online regarding best clubs for beginner I ventured into Golf Town Beacon Hill. I was greeted right away but almost left frustrated and without clubs when Brent K came over. Brent took the time to look at my swing and tweak some important parts of my swing so I could get a sense of which clubs felt the best. These tweaks were reinforced and yes it took time but I can tell you I left with clubs, felt good about my purchase without cross referencing prices. This man knows his stuff and does not try to over sell you what you need rather he wants you to feel good about what you are leaving with.

The assistant manager Joel displayed 5 star customer service both yesterday and today when we were in store. We had purchased the wrong hand club set and there were no right handed sets available anywhere in Calgary to exchange for. Not only was he helpful yesterday with a price match, he was able to help us today to get the proper hand club set in a good amount of time. Thanks again Joel!

I would like to start off by giving Shawn and his team at Golftown North Calgary a 5 star review. Shawn is such an amazing General Manager. Always willing to help the best he can and it’s always a pleasure to go in there and see him. It’s nice to see a manager always doing other jobs as well. I always see Shawn regripping clubs, helping customers etc. Shawn is a great guy all around and I enjoy visiting the North store because of him. Keep up the great work!

I love coming to this store. Shawn is always such a pleasant and knowledgeable person. Not like a lot of other managers. I always see him out on the floor when I’m there. I seen him changing grips helping in clothing just a real pleasure to see a actual manager on the floor helping. Cudos to Shawn and his team they look like a bunch of happy people there. Any chance I get to go there I do.

Went in today to take a look at getting a new 5-wood and check out some irons as I am thinking about getting a new fitted set. Every iron is now twist tied to the rack so that you cannot pick up a club and take a proper look at it. The drivers and woods are now locked into the rack by a plastic thing so that without assistance you are relegated to looking at a club upside down. Pointless shopping experience. Golftown became the leading golf store because of their hands on experience and the ability to actually pick up the clubs and get a feel for them. This change killed what made them great.

Awesome customer service today. They all went above and beyond in helping me out. From picking the right balls to finding a recept for a return I had to make. A refreshing experience

Sales associate was a young man who clearly didn't want to be of any assistance. Dismissed me when I told him I was going to look for a deal on the golf club discount rack. No worries, though, just one of those things. Great store, though, with a good selection of golf wares.

Starting to get a bit frustrated with Golf Town. The clothing selection is poor, the bulk big-name brands with few specialty and premium items. When you do find something nice, they never have your size. Sure you can order it online but if it doesn't fit then you lose the shipping fee when you return.

Excellent staff, very friendly and knowledgeable. The store has just finished some renovations and added new LED lighting. The store looks great. They have a fantastic deal on right now for re-gripping your clubs, get in there as soon as you can before it ends!

Be careful of this place! They just tried to scam my father in law. He went to a different golf town got a set for his son but they only had one so he came here to get his set. They gave him a set and he asked why they weren't in a box. They tried to say they didn't come in a box. My father in law shrug it off, took it home and realized they were the demo set! They were so scratched. He went back and the first thing they said no refunds or exchanges! WHAT! Trying to sell demo set for full price. Someone finally came out and refunded him and told him to order online as they didn't have any.they were hoping they'd get away with it. Be careful. Avoid if you can. Always check your purchase.
