My favourite Good Earth location. They're always well stocked with food items and the atmosphere is cozy! The best pumpkin spice muffins. I do think they could use a deep clean or minor refurbishment, however. The floor and some fixtures are looking dated.
The place is getting run down. I ordered a quiche. It was almost all potatoes. If I wanted potatoes I would have ordered them at a much lower cost. Obviously a cost saving measure. The ones in the picture were not all just what I managed to dig out!
This is my favourite coffee spot. I always order a latte and it's always perfect, the staff are friendly and kind and the atmosphere is inviting and warm. Thank you!
This is a very busy coffee shop. Almost every time that I have gone, it's difficult to find a spor to sit. It's a neighborhood coffee shop so people come to meet there and linger long. This explains the absence of spots to sit but it also explains the friendly atmosphere of the crowd there. Coffee is not better than in most places. The staff is cordial enough. There is a second level loft, but the stairs are steep and not for folks with mobility issues.
My favourite coffee shop. I regularly go on first dates here and love the mezzanine area with all the calming plants. Staff are so friendly and the food is always on point! My favourite drink is the almond milk green tea latte! Amazing
This doesn’t at all reflect the service I’ve usually received that this location however, this evening my girlfriend and I came in 15 minutes until close and the gentleman behind the counter (long blonde hair in a pony-bun) scoffed at us. We proceeded to order two large espresso fraps with an extra espresso shot in each and he rolled his eyes - I normally tip but this time around the energy didn’t prompt the same response. While we waited for our drinks another guest entered and wasn’t well received - more eye rolls. The drink itself was poorly made and very watery, we noticed there was a lot of extra left over ingredients so we don’t think we got the full three espresso shots, they didn’t taste that great. Didn’t plan on staying around as we knew you were closing but the negative energy would’ve been a deterrent regardless of the time. I hope it was a one off and he normally enjoys his job. If I was an owner of this establishment I’d want to know this is how my cafe was being represented to the public.
I came in here on a Saturday at around 3: 30pm to study, and ordered a medium coffee, and the girl grabbed the mug by the rim and when I very politely and apologetically, asked to have it changed, they complied, but didn't offer any apology and seemed super irriated with me for asking. Like it's pretty simple food handling safety, don't grab the mug by the rim.ruined my study vibe and I didn’t drink my coffee at all and left. Maybe the staff needs to be retrained on how to safely handle food/drinks, and how to be a bit kinder to customers when you make a small and totally okay mistake. It happens. Kindness is appreciated.
The max and cheese was dry and not flavourful. It was also greasy. The coffee was OK. The staff weren’t overly friendly and were messing around with the cash in the register and I waited a while to pay for my order. Seemed pretty unprofessional
Great cafe! I can’t say I’ve ever branched out much from my usual ginger cookie and coffee, but this location has never disappointed. Baked goods are fresh and they make a really good decaf anything. The decor is tasteful, just the right balance of modern and homey, and the upstairs seating area is great - perfect for having a quieter area to study.
The coffee is good and the atmosphere is relaxing. Nice variety of food for whatever you feel like; and the upstairs loft is like a small getaway. Staff is friendly and welcoming as well!
The coffee is not the best, but the service is friendly, space is nice and clean. Generally not crowded but they removed the sitting outside, while weather is still pleasant. Advise: bring your own folding chairs and enjoy the grass area behind the coffee shop and play safer!
I absolutely love this place. (Although *cough* the loft/upstairs really sucks. You don't want to sit there. *cough*) (okay. Fine! The loft rocks. But if you stay downstairs then I can get a spot up there.)
I love this location, and the owner is AMAZING! She has done such a good job through the pandemic to ensure they go above and beyond with safety measures. I always feel really safe in the space.
The staff is cheerful and helpful, quick and responsive. They’re doing a good job managing all the Covid guidelines. Coffee and food is tasty. This location also has a nice upstairs part that’s a bit quieter. Good place to do a little reading.
Really disappointing coffee.whomever was on the espresso machine did not receive the training or have any basic knowledge of the different types of specialty coffee and how it is to be served.watching the young lady attempt to make my flat white coffee was painful.she literally had no idea how it should be prepared or served.and then serving it with the saucer mostly filled with spilt milk and coffee? I feel for people in the service industry who don’t receive the proper training.setting people up for failure is really poor management.don’t put items on the menu if you are not going to take the time to train your staff properly.
We have our knitting mettup group at this location every Saturday morning. Grest healthy food and room for our group who have been welcome in this location for the past 3 years. Thank-you!
Last time i was there, the owner straight up ignored me.like, looking me in the face and ignored me.she wasnt' doing anything.it was really awkward.also the place needs a serious deep clean.the chai latte comes from a nasty looking jug of tea and the food is disgusting.re: the reply from the restaurant.sorry, but my feelings were hurt too? This wasn't unfounded at all.honestly the owner has been rude every singe time i've been in there over the last 10+ years lmao I know exactly who they are.but the last interaction takes the cake.also yeah, you need to do a deep clean of the whole restaurant, it's kind of gross.
They overcharged me for my meal and when I pointed it out they didn't even have the common courtesy to apologize. I understand that everyone makes mistakes, but what I don't understand is not apologizing for it.
Also, compared to other Good Earth locations, when your sandwich is ready they usually bring it to your table while you are eating your soup.not here. Even though they were not busy, they just left it at the counter. It is funny actually because they didn't seem to be too busy to ask for the tips when I was paying.
Went in for a coffee while doing some errands the other day and there was only one poor girl running around doing everything. Once I got to the counter the girl was friendly and made good coffee. As someone who works in retail, this really speaks to poor management, you should always have a minimum of two people working to spread those unexpected retail rushes among more people and cover for each other if they (heaven forbid, are human) and need a bathroom break.
One of the best Good Earth locations in Calgary with a loft and great layout for a little more privacy that your typical coffee shop. Although the construction around it makes it a little more difficult to get to, it's well worth it! 2 story south facing glass wall keeps it beautifully lit and feeling spacious. Easy parking in front and oh ya the food and beverages are great too.
I like the black bean stew and the lentil stew. I like how they have both warm and ready. Music is soft enough to be background and not overwhelmingly loud. I also ordered a pumpkin spice latte, medium. Very tasty but the server could have been more clear that it was ready for me. Like maybe a shout out or a wave at me? Parking is spacious. Getting into and out during construction into the glenmore landing parking lot is congested and difficult, pretty much a deterrence for sure. Only one washroom for both genders!
