After years of struggling to find the right pair of shoes I finally decided to check out Gords. Fantastic place, super knowledgeable staff and they actually had my sizes haha. Very happy with my purchase today and looking forward to a (hopefully) shin splints free summer!

I dropped by Gord's last night in search of some new running shoes to replace my old ones, which gave me considerable foot pain. Three different staff members (including Gord himself) spent a considerable amount of time using their knowledge to help me find the perfect shoe/insole combo for my problematic feet. It was amazing customer service, and I will absolutely be back!

I just tried out my purchase for the first time, and I had NO PAIN! Not only that, the shoes made my stride feel so much more efficient. I felt I could actually challenge myself and not focus on how much I hurt and broke my 5k PR by almost two full minutes! A huge thank you to everyone who was working last night!

Gord's is a long-established shop with great products and incredible customer service. Just as importantly, it's locally and independently-owned, and the proprietor, Gord, is seemingly omnipresent. They are far more concerned with matching the right products with the right customer than they are about maximizing profit. I had a great experience and I'll be back.

I’m very nearly a 20 year customer at Gord’s. My feet aren’t that freaky but I need an expert to help fit the straight last as well as the narrow heel and high arches. He and his staff are more than happy to keep bringing shoes out until the right ones are found. I have never retuned a pair because they always took the time to find the right ones. I have lots of other shoe stores closer to me in the NW but I always go back to Gord’s.

I was recommended to come here by a friend. Gord himself helped me and immediately displayed incredible expertise. He assessed my old runners (I brought them with me) and based on those, brought out a few options. Had me try them on and watched my gait, helped me assess fit, saw what we needed to adjust, and was able to narrow down shoes to a couple pairs within my desired price point. I took them on a run same day, and wow, night and day. The fit is perfect 10/10 highly recommend getting your shoes at Gord's!

Went to Gord's for the first time today. They had better stock than their competitor and the customer service was awesome! Walked out with exactly what I wanted at a great price. Will be back for sure!

Great sales on top runners! Always excellent service from very knowledgable staff! Gord himself is often there and really knows his runners! Great selection, including all kinds of socks and shoe inserts. There is often a bin of sale items, including shoes marked down. This is the runner store I go to every time to help me with my feet issues! Darn Tough Socks are the best with a merino wool blend and life time guarantee.

What sets Gord's apart is their super friendly and knowledgeable staff. If you tell them what you're after they will give you a few different options and help you narrow it down to what works best for you. Really appreciate their expertise.

After going though several pairs of walking shoes over a short period of time, I was looking for a durable shoe that would work my orthotics and address pronation issues. Nigel was fantastic- he checked my gait and my old shoes to get an idea of where my issues were and what might work. He listened to my concerns and presented several shoe options. He was adamant that we were going to find the right shoe…and we did! After an 11km walk today, my feet and hips feel great! Nigel’s knowledge, patience and excellent customer service have ensured that I will be going back to Gord’s when I need my next pair of shoes and I’ve already recommended them to others. I stopped in on a recommendation from my Physiotherapist to ensure that I got a shoe that would address my specific walking/gait needs. I was fortunate to work with Gord directly and I had no idea the science behind the fitting of a good shoe! He knew how the shoe fit before I could tell him based on how I walked and steered me to a pair of Brooks that work perfectly for me. I've used the shoes on two long walks and they fit like a glove and I can already know how well suited my choice is for me. I can confidently recommend anyone check this place out for sound advice and quality product.

I have been looking for a store that sell wide feet option and I struck gold. The salesman was so helpful and patient throughout. I totally recommend the store!

If I could give more stars I would. Without question the best experience I have ever had finding running shoes. Gord was incredibly knowledgable and helpful and he helped me find a pair of shoes that works for my specific gait.

A great local shop with cool running gear. It's very centrally located but it has free parking which was awesome.

I went here last week to get 2 new pairs of shoes. I can NEVER find shoes wide enough to fit me without going a full size too long.
The fitting expertly done, and they also carry wide and Natural Foot Shape style shoes in my size. For the first time (possibly in my life) I have shoes that both fit my feet and are comfortable.

I don't know what's else can be said that hasn't been said before. This is the place to go to buy running shoes. They do a great job at finding the right shoe for you. They take the time to.look at how you walk, how the shoe fits etc.

My partner and I went in for new shoes. Katie helped us. She really new her stuff and was able to get us both fitted with what we needed. Excellent customer service and friendly staff. We will definitely be back.

Gord (and the rest of the team) is amazing. He went above and beyond — he took extra time and effort and even gave us tips and tricks. We certainly appreciated that he’s not all about making the extra bucks but will make you feel you’re making the right choices, even if you go for the cheaper options. Excellent service and knowledge at this long time staple for runners of all levels. Excellent selection of widths. I have a hard to find, 9AA width, and was shown several options along with a style of runner that I initially went there for. I ended up trying a new style thanks to the suggestion of Sebastian, which is working out great! Really nice selection of women and men's running gear and clothing too that can also be used for other sports. This is an excellent small business to support!

Went back today for my 2nd pair and was fortunate enough to be helped by Gord again. I can’t believe he remembered my name despite having only been there once. EXCELLENT AND FRIENDLY service like our first time. You can really feel that he cares about his customers and makes sure you go home with the perfect pair. Once we’re ready to add trail running into our regimen, I can’t imagine getting our pair other than Gord’s. Anyone new to the hobby should definitely get their first pair here! 5 STARS!

This store is great. I was unsure of what type of trail show I should be using, Gord took time to have me try several pairs on and even made me wear 2 different styles and go outside and run in them! If you are taking running seriously, there's lots to know and Gord and his staff will help you make the right decisions for what will work best for you.

Amazing staff! Answered shoe questions regarding repairs to an existing pair I had. They all just generally wanted to help. I'll for sure to go them for any future running shoe purchases

Just started walking to earn a living and needed a good pair of shoes. Several recommended Hoka shoes as a solution.

I checked online and found that this store sold them.

I went into the store and tried on a few pairs. Upon returning with the shoes, the salesperson informed me the HOKA's he presented were 20% off. I had been considering going to MEC as they also sold the HOKA's. With the discount applied I decided to purchase. Before finishing putting the shoes away in the box, our salesperson Marcus verified with another person on the floor that the discount was accurate. He confirmed that it was.

Proceeded to checkout and paid for the shoes. Checked my receipt and the 20% discount was not applied. I asked at the counter as to why. Marcus looked at our receipt and said "oh yeah, that's not right. " He went over to speak to the stores namesake Gord, I assume the owner, they had a discussion and he returns to the counter with "oops, my bad. Thats the right price. " No offer to return the shoes or doing what would be considered the "right thing" under the circumstances. He turned and starting ringing through the next customer.

In the grand scheme of things we are talking about roughly $15. The 20% was not honoured and was replaced with a 7% discount.

I was not belligerent nor escalated the situation further. It was a disappointing transaction.

The principle of the matter and under the guise of good customer service the price offered by the stores sales agent should have been honoured.

I am glad I have another option to shop as the HOKA's are great but I will use my new shoes to walk in another direction when it comes to shopping.

Funny thing is I was referred to come to this store.

I am new to the city and wanted to find a good running store. Gords's was the place to go. You can tell the staff really knows their product and that they are runners. I tried on A LOT of shoes and no one was annoyed or impatient. Good selection. Will go again for all my running shoe needs:)

Best running store in Calgary. Gord is very knowledgeable and will hook you up with the best running or walking shoe for your gaits.

I went to Gords running store to buy a pair of high quality runners, and was impressed by the selection. I tried on several pairs of shoes until I settled on a perfect pair to fit my wide feet. However the pair lost laminate and broke after about a month of use. Gords running store took the pair back and replaced it without any questions. This store has Excellent customer service when both shopping and returning products. I couldn't recommend a better business.

Great adviser, finished my first 100 miler this weekend with their Altra Timp 2.0’s. Looking forward on trying out the Olympus 4.0 hopefully soon!

The only place in Calgary to buy running shoes! They will make sure you leave with the proper shoe for you stride and the type of running you do!

Helpful staff. Bought my Altra Lonepeaks and felt thet were a tad tight after I had brought the home. Went there the next day and traded them for the Altra Superior 4's. They happened to be 25% off at MEC and I asked if they could match and they did. Will definitly get my next pair there. Thanks Gord's!

Best store in calgary and phenomenal owner as you can tell he knows his stuff and gives the best advice. Also, the other staff are great. Only place you should really consider to get running shoes. Great price, great staff and a local store that you're supporting.

Just bought some new shoes for the running season. This is definitely the store to check out. Gord was super quick emailing me back. He put aside the shoes I was looking for. Was able to transfer him the money which was super easy. Picked them up the next day! He just left them in front of my vehicle so no worry of contact given the times.

Such a nice store, and Gord was very kind, knowledgable and truly helpful. I am very appreciative of all his help. I will buy my running shoes there all the time from now on. I think the swelling will go down now on my foot and I won't have to go through surgery (bone spurs).
