Grande Prairie Museum & Heritage Village

What an awesome museum! We were visiting Grande Prairie and this museum was close by to where we were staying. It’s a gem of a place! The people working there are so friendly and welcoming, they even have scavenger hunts for the children to do which my daughter loved, next time I think I’ll grab one for myself. They even have prizes once they complete the scavenger hunt!
The shop in there has a bunch of cool things you can buy on your way out, and the museum runs on donations, so there isn’t a financial barrier for anyone who wants to go! What an amazing thing for a museum to do, definitely support this museum if you can!

We've held a couple of family events here in the past year. It was a great venue, the staff was very friendly and the museum and pioneer village is great

This was a great outing for the whole family. Easy to hard scavenger hunts for the littles to teens! A nice way for mom and dad to just tour around and get to know the heritage of our city.
And it's free!

My daughter and i love the heritage museum, though we have been, its still a nice place to go spend an hour or few if your looking to get out the sun for a bit if your ever around the Downtown Musko area.

They do scavenger hunts for kids, which really makes it interesting to find neat new things every time.

Bigger than I expected, it took me over an hour to read everything. Very nice. I enjoyed the mix of old artifacts.

It was very nice but impacted with nice stuff. More space and activities are needed to make it an attractive city place.

It's a very informative and fun place to see when visiting Grande Prairie. I highly recommend it for everyone to look back into the history of this city.

What a great, free museum! There are exhibits on so many different subjects - local history and larger.

The museum does not require reservations. The only time that would be advisable is when large groups are attending and that would just be to notify staff. The Grande Prairie Museum & Heritage village are free to visit. The village is generally close for the winter at or around the end of September (weather permitting) and open again, usually after May long weekend.

Quite a gem! Found quite a few very well preserved historical artifacts and learnt a lot about the history of the area. I highly recommend a visit

The Parkinson's group met for their Christmas party. Tammy had the room set up ahead of time, then was our stand in photographer while we gathered around old St Nick and then the Queen. Very lovely afternoon.
