Great Canadian Oil Change

They are not being honest with customers, they make you feel you don’t know anything and show themselves surprised with your answers.it happened to me two times. Won’t go there again.

Super slow service if theres even a couple of cars ahead of you expect to be waiting a couple hours

There was a bit of a wait but not bad. Took less than an hour all together. Fair prices and they do a good job of checking and double checking everything. Staff are very pleasant and do not try to over sell the add on services.
It will definitely be my new goto for regular oils changes now

I was hoping for a cup of coffee while I was waiting. Very disappointing. The staff were great and really energetic. I am missing the perks.

Awful experience. Took almost double the length of time. Only had the synthetic oil available. Spurted oil all over my engine/window. And they actually took air out of my tires to a lower PSI than is recommended.

They told us 45 minutes, ended up being 2.5 hours before they saw us. No discount or anything for our wasted time. I would HIGHLY recommend not wasting your time with this.

I arrived about 8: 30am. All three bays were full and a car parked infront of each bay door. I was second in line after that. I got an oil change and tire rotation. I pulled out at 12: 05pm. That's a little over 3.5 hours to get my vehicle serviced. The guys were good, very friendly. But 3.5 hours? Come on. I can't justify waiting that long on a Tuesday morning. I'll just go to my dealership next time. They offer an Uber after I drop my vehicle off to take me to my place of employment and a pick once I am informed my vehicle is ready. The price is pretty much the same + or - a couple dollars at the dealership and I can be working and getting paid. Also, once the tire rotation was done, they re-set the air pressure. The fronts were supposed to be at 60 psi and rears at 75 psi. When I pulled away and checked my tire pressure, they had the fronts at 80 psi and rears at 70 psi. I had to spend the time to re-set my tires properly. How can you get that wrong? Even the invoice stated they were set to specs. Sorry guys.

They once refused my oil change due to a leak from in my engne, which I took to the dealer and had seal replaced under warranty. Every other time, had been just as great. Friendly service, reasonable price.

They have a habit of touching your car with oily gloves. This is not the first time that I've gotten an oil change at this place and then later on when I get out of my car there's oil fingerprints and oil handprints on my car including the door handle which is kind of an unpleasant experience to grab on to some disgusting motor oil with your bare skin. I won't be going back.

This is the perfect place to take care of your car after a long trip from Pennsylvania to Calgary, Alberta. The team is friendly, very professional and well trained. The facility is perfectly clean, they left my car ready to travel back, for sure in the next visit to Calgary I will ask them to take care of my car. Thank You!

Excellent and very friendly and accommodating service both times I went here! The first time I went in just to have them check out my battery, they were very honest and didn’t try to upsell me or anything, and they even provided a complimentary top up of washer fluid and coolant even though I didn’t purchase anything! This goes a long way to making the customer feel wanted and influenced my desire to return again in the future due to the great positive experience. Then the second time I went in, I dropped in without an appointment and they quickly solved my oil cap issue free of charge and had me on my way in 10 mins, again super friendly and welcoming service. Great job, keep up the great work! I will be going back to these guys in the future, they know how to treat their customers.

Currently at Great Canadian Oil Change on Bow Trail. Super thankful for their clear communication and great customer service in general, but especially on a -30 day when my car has had a few troubles. Great work, fair price (they have coupons online too), and excellent customer service. Thanks team!

Excellent customer service today! Mr. Lube's service down the street has deteriorated over the years to virtually none on my last visit, I decided to try Great Canadian today and I'm glad I did! See you again in 8000 kms!

Would give 0 stars if I could. Do not go to this place unless you want further problems with your car. Poor customer service also.

Failure to ensure that the differential plug was correctly fastened resulted in thousands of dollars for repairs for my vehicle a couple of months later. Will be doing my own oil changes from now on.

Awesome customer service here. They were very busy today, but all of the employees were clearly working very hard to give us the best and fastest service. They dont try and sell you unnecessary services (for the record, I am a young woman so that is often a problem for me) and they fill up your washer fluid for no extra charge. 10/10!

I had a really good experience with this oil change shop today. I got a very useful, nice and supportive assistance from the manager Han and one of their staff Ken. I am definitely back there again! Thank you!:)

First time I came here, they lost a bolt from my air intake plenum and didn't tell me. This was not a common bolt that is easily replaceable but it wasn't critical to keeping the cover on. So today I returned (against my better judgement) and they lost the other bolt, replaced it with an inferior one and again, didn't say anything to me. In addition, an oil change here takes longer than at the dealership and at roughly the same cost. Will not be back.

This was by far the worst oil change experience I've ever had. 46 minutes for a simple oil change (not including waiting in line, 46 minutes inside the garage). No extra maintenance, no complicating factors, a simple routine oil change. They were incredibly disorganized.
31 degrees out and sat there in the vehicle for the entire time, no option to get out of the vehicle. Almost 40 degrees inside the vehicle for the duration.
They were not short staffed, not overly busy, just incredibly disorganized. After they drained the oil, we waited almost 10 minutes for someone to come fill up the oil, as 3 guys were standing around texting and talking about their weekends.
In addition to this, two of the guys were loudly boasting about customer complaint claims and making fun of the situation.
Will definitely never be going to this place again. Avoid unless you have some serious time to waste

Two things ruined the experience for me. Firstly, the main thing I wanted was to have a headlight bulb replaced. I asked the person who came out to greet me (he seemed senior) if they can replace my bulb. He confirmed they could so long as they had the bulb in stock. Once inside and half way through the oil change he said they did have the bulb in stock but it was too much work to replace the bulb as the battery would have to be removed. I was very disappointed as that is why I went in. The second thing is they falsely reported they checked the cabin filter and recommended changing it. It is inside my glove box and as I was inside the car the entire time I can definitely say it was never checked. I brought this up with their technician but he had no explanation. I was again disappointed as it put all the checks they said were done in question.

If i need to have a “quick” oil change i come here but they are so slow like a snail is hyped compared to them they are so slow that i grew a beard and had to go home for a shave and come back and then i get my oil change

**BEWARE! **Had an oil change done at this location on May 29th, 2022. They forgot to tighten the airbox screws and literally left the box just sitting there. A few days ago the transmission failed with only 100,000km without any warning on this vehicle and we are confident it has something to do with them! Will update after GSL Chev checks the car. Good luck getting a hold of anyone at this location either as they do not understand the concept of picking up the phone or returning voicemails

First time going to a shop for my car and man, what a great experience going in for a leaking oil filter, I was in and out of there with no hassles. They replaced and fixed everything without a charge on top of that so they very much deserve 5 stars and even more so a case of beer. Highly recommend going to them

Service is terrible. Crew working there is terrible. Never use that Service. Very low level.

Always a great experience with an oil change here. Sometimes a bit of a wait, which is expected. Helped me change a light bulb one time and didn’t charge me. Will always be returning.

Maybe they’re understaffed but waiting 45-1hr to get into a bay is absurd. For a place that’s understaffed, you’d think they’d be more efficient. Never been to a slower GCOC in my life.

Great team, fast, friendly, kind. Needed to re torque my tires. No charge they checked my tire pressure filled it up and had me on my way in less than 10 minutes. Well run place.

Never been to this location before. Dan was so knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He went above my expectations and fixed an issue I had from a previous oil change without any extra charges. True kindness. I will be back for future oil changes.

Absolutely fantastic service. Seriously I would recommend them 10/10. They even filled our tires with air complimentary! They checked our belt which we knew was failing a bit but they confirmed it was! They topped us up on engine coolant complimentary too! We didn't have to wait hours and hours or leave our vehicle so with us having kids it was fantastic. They weren't pushy about buying things when we told them we were only able to afford an oil change today. AND they took competitors coupons! Like who does that? ! They do, that's who! Absolutely super.

Service is not the best. Went to get my winter tires retorqued and was told they were short staffed and it would be a few minutes wait. After waiting 20+ minutes in my car and no one coming out, I left. For something that takes less than 5 minutes to do, there really is no excuse. I've been to far better shops with better service and better prices. I won't be going back.

Thorough service, sloppy work. Had an oil change. Leaking oil. Oil on exhaust manifold. Burning smell. I get that subaru filters are in a tough spot but not cool when leaving oil residue on drop pan.

Good service, fast and friendly. Quite knowledgeable and of course they recommend extras but are not pushy when you decline.

Was to do a oil chnage myself and the place I brought it to previously way over torqued the oil pan bolt. I tried every to get it off. Other places wanted to charge me 20-40$.

The awesome employee (7590DD) loosened it back to factory specs and gave me a new oil pan bolt for free.

When I got home.the bolt came off without a breeze

Your service is top notch. Money is tight right that's why I'm changing it myself right now. But next oil change I'll be come back here for sure

I came in to check out an engine light in my dashboard and Shawn provided me with great service and help, highly recommend this location. Every time I come in, the service is 5 star and my car leaves in a better condition!

Guys felt a little overwhelming but the service was good. Could’ve given an eta on how long we would’ve had to wait for one vehicle in front of us.

Very friendly staffs are there.but one thing. Please do not wipe front hood after oil change and after close hood. My car is not Ferrari or Maybach something like luxury vehicles.but I try to keep truck very clean and I washed and waxed my truck twice a month.today I washed my truck and I noticed there were a lot of swirl marks because your staff wiped my front hood with dirty rags.

I know my truck was pretty dirty. It could be my fault. If my truck was super clean that day, your staff might not wipe with dirty rag.this was not nice memory but you guys were so kind and I hope that you guys never make same mistake, or If I go there again, I will tell you guys.

Amazing service, the guys really went above and beyond for me. I needed an oil change and a tire swap, but I made the mistake of saying "tire rotation". They rotated my tires and then swapped them after I realized I told them to perform the incorrect work. They also have me a couple of lug nuts for free after they realized a couple of mine were on their way out. This is the only place I go for oil changes these days. I highly recommend them.

I waited in line for an hour, once I got in I found out they didn't have the proper oil filter for my truck. Then they asked me if I could run over to Parts Source to get one? Proper way to do business would've been to get one delivered, or get one of their guys to go get it. There are oil change places everywhere, I don't see a need to ever go back to this place.

The service technician spilled oil all over the inside of the engine bay. There was oil all over the back of my headlights, in the alternator all over the belt and the block. They also lost the screws for the under engine cover on my vehicle.

To give the business the benefit of the doubt I called to tell the manager about my experiences. Unfortunately, the manager denied everything and tried to blame me for the issue. It's unfortunate they weren't willing to hear me out, but I won't be going back. Wish I could give less stars.

Took car in today for straight forward winter tire change out. Told they had good news and bad news. Good news is tires have been changed. Bad news is they sheared off the passenger side tire stub. Told me it i had to take to a tire shop to fix and shouldn't drive on it.
Shouldn't be much of a job - perhaps $20 and a bit of time. Cost me $160 and half a day wasted to fix! Thanks a lot! Won't be using this outfit again. Since it changed hands its gone downhill. Am now using OK Tire.

I am a regular customer and always was given great customer service. But today, I write this review as i was provided exceptional customer service. I had an important trip to make and noticed that one of my tires was slightly deflated. Upon filling air myself from a gas station, I noticed the air valve on my tire was frozen and wouldn’t let air in. Instead, it would leak air. I had 30 psi air when I started the day and by the time I stopped at a couple of gas stations to fill air, it had gone down to 10 psi. I came to them all panicked hoping they would be able to help me out. After listening to me, they said it may be a mechanical problem but assured me they’ll try to help me out. After waiting in line for 15 minutes, they brought me in and inspected the wheel and were able to fix it and fill air in. Through out my experience, they assured me they’ll do whatever they can to help me, and that they did. I was done in 10 minutes and wasn’t charged anything. My trip was saved and carried out on my day as planned. Again exceptional customer service by doing whatever they could to help me.

Oil change and basic check services. First time and all went well. Price was reasonable. Will be back.

Staff members Jerrhon and Jason were friendly, professional, and helped deliver the service I came in for way quicker than I expected! I was very impressed by the time Jerrhon in particular took to explain things to me about my vehicle and he made me feel like the team genuinely cared about me as a customer. Will return for my next service and the one after that!

I generally like this place for oil changes and I’ve been coming here for years. But.since they’ve changed ownership, they keep trying to push differential oil changes at every 20k. I’ve confirmed with Subaru that it’s required every 100k. I’ve tried to point out that their system is wrong and instead of looking into it, they keep lying about how 100k is way too long of an interval and that their system is directly connected to Subaru and that it’s really what Subaru wants to recommends. Meeting sales quota is one thing but this is laying and bordering on fraud (IMHO).

If you need an oil change, they got you covered.
But expect to pay at minimum $20 more for the same service as Mr. Lube just down the road.

GCOC: Valvoline 5W30 & V076 oil filter. $109.99
Both equivalent synthetic oils.

Plus, Mr. Lube will give you a copy of the news paper while you wait and a window mileage sticker at the end (perhaps GCOC does this too but stopped due to COVID?)

I come here every time I need an oil change or minor service! The guys and gals who work here all go above and beyond to make sure my car is well looked after. I saw Dan today and he was super friendly and helpful! I highly recommend this place!

Professional and very nice to talk to. You come for oil change, but they check tire pressure, battery life, tell about if the clean air filter needs to be replaced and explain you the benefits of different product! Since this is my first time coming in, associate was very nice to give me $10 discount on oil price!

These guys were awesome! Not only were they professional, honest and did a fantastic job, they were also informative and were happy to answer questions. They also look like they enjoy themselves and were even in the middle of teaching a new guy and were just wicked fun and thorough in training. Quick and easy oil change on a Volkswagen. Importantly they didn't try to upsell me on anything.

Staff are good and friendly. They tell me with synthetic oil to change in 8000k but the receipt always says 5000k. The receipt and recommended mileage should reflect what type of oil you put in.

They managed the lines fairly when I went and they were very communicative and friendly. I will now come here instead of Mr. Lube.

There's a reason this location is always busy. The staff are professional and have fantastic interpersonal skills. They appreciate their clients and are always incredibly courteous. The staff explain all the work that will be done step by step every single visit, no matter how many times you go. That is refreshing!
I enjoy that there is constant communication between the bay below and the technicians above. It may annoy some, but it's truly a great safety measure to ensure nothing gets overlooked or missed. It's a lively and organized environment where I always feel valued as a customer. I used to change my tires on my own but I'm more than happy to support this location because of the staff it employs. It's great to see a hard working group of people that smile. The wait in line is worth it for this fine group of people!

They had a sign up for tire swapping. I usually do it myself but figured it would save me some hassle and some time. It saved me neither. It took them over 45 minutes from the time my truck was pulled into the bay. That's longer than it takes me jacking one corner at a time. They made me wait outside in the cold because someone else was in the waiting room. I understand that they need to take precautions because of COVID but this seems poorly thought out. When I went to get into my vehicle after they were done, the kid yelled at me because I wasn't going straight into my vehicle but stopped to see if they had put my wheel caps into my box (they hadn't - they were still sitting on the side of the shop). They also told me they couldn't give me a paper receipt due to COVID and asked for my email. No big deal - I understand. But then they handed me the receipt for my credit card payment, defeating any objective they could have been possibly trying to achieve. Slow, bad service, won't go back.

First time at this location and they were very professional, friendly and fast.
My concern is they are @ $50 more than what my dealer charges and my dealer also offers coffee and newspaper and takes about the same amount of time.
Being a senior on fixed income that hurts at $200 more per year for oil changes.

Very professional, polite and quality service. 20x better than the Mr. Lube down the street.

Service was fast and simple. They were fine doing as I asked and also showed oil afterwards so I didn't have to double check that it was overfilled. Overall great place to get an oil change done.

Friendly, professional and quick service. On my last visit I had an especially tricky headlight to change, but the guys took the time to get it done.

I have never experienced a shop with this kind of outstanding customer service. Extremely friendly, extremely helpful, and extremely professional. Richard explained every step of the way to us and made sure to not use technical language - so car noobs like ourselves could understand what went on. We will definitely be back. Very covid safe!
