Great Canadian Oil Change

Well over an hour…. I could go into all details.but if you have time to burn…
Hard to be pleasant with the understaffed location with their fake happy conversations…
Next time I’ll visit a jiffy lube (although I did try but their closed down sign and directions to the next closets is the other side of the city) …where I can go for a coffee or something other than sit in my idling car…

My first time here and really impressed by the customer service. Dylan kept me up to speed on wait times without ever being asked to do so. He was very personable and friendly and set the tone for a great customer experience.

As others have mentioned, once you're in line, you're not leaving it.so bring a book or fire up a podcast and it'll be a nice break in your day. Would definitely recommend.

Weirdly slow. Like I’m not even sure what they were doing half the time. This is not the location that I usually go to and there was quite a difference. Took more than 30 mins.

I have never waited this long for an oil change in my life. 2.5 hours lined up behind the shop in 30° weather. No apologies, no explanation.
Just as I was next to go in I was approached to see if I would let somebody else go ahead of me that has been waiting a long time.
Interestingly, all cars that were in line ahead of me have long gone through. Not sure where this guy was hanging out behind me.
Once I got in Dana was super friendly, apologetic, informative and offered a $15.00 discount. I started this review with one star that Dana saved the day so I gave 4. Give Dana a bonus!

Had 4 mr lube’s tell me that they had my oil and filter and to come in for an oil change when none of them did. After 3 hours of wasted time and driving, I came across this place.
Russelle was so great, he confirmed my oil and filter first. Did a great and quick job, checked everything else too. My new go to place

Lost my buisness! I’ve been going here for roughly 7 year for 5 vehicles. This morning I allocated 2 hours to get an oil change done. After driving there there was 1 car infront of every door. I waited for 15 min and a car drove in bay 1 so I took their place. Nobody came out, nobody spoke with me. After 2 vehicles came in they were let know park in bay 2 and bay 3. Both vehicles went in that were there when I got there. After that I waited. It was a total of 1 hour wait. I. That time 2 more cars came and I was confused when they told them not to park behind me. Still nobody spoke with me and I’ve been there for an hour. Now I’m in bay 1. And there are 2 cars in bay 2 and bay 3. When they opened bay 3 and let a car in that’s only been there for half hour I decided to go in. They were raising the vehicle infront of me on jacks. When I allocate 2 hours for a 20 min job that’s one thing, I expect it. After the process I watched this morning I’m done with this company. Prior to the name change there were literally no issues. I spend about $1500 a year per vehicle in this shop but this place won’t see another dime. What a joke and waste of time. So after getting home 2 hours later my 20 min oil change is done… by me. I’ll drive the extra 5 min to go somewhere else anyway. Pick wisely.

Reaonably priced options based on manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule. Quick and friendly service.

Had about as much fun as you can have getting an oil change.

Great and quick inspection and oil change. I always hate going for an oil change because I always feel pressured into doing more than I wanted to, or I feel spoken down to - Sahil was so great and respectful and clearly explained everything that was going on. Very recommended!

Every time I go there I have a puddle of oil in my driveway afterwards cause they don't wipe it off properly

My 2021 Ford F150 requires a skid plate removal for the oil change…the skid plate was not put back on properly and is now hanging catching everything. I called and was told don’t worry come in and we will fix it. Drove in and was told they did nothing wrong. Now I’ll be forced to get it fixed elsewhere. I WILL NEVER USE GREAT CANADIAN OIL CHANGE AT CROWFOOT AGAIN. Unreal.

Terrible visit today. Technician "Dana" was rude and unhelpful, had to leave without an oil change since they were out of 0W30. This used to be an excellent location prior to the ownership change. Since the Valvoline acquisition things have steadily gone downhill with every visit.

Bad service, they don't know how the system is. I was there to change the oil. I waited nearly two hours there, and some people just came and waited half an hour and entered.

This place is always my go-to for oil changes and swapping out tires on rims The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them. They know what your car needs and can even give you suggestions if you’re on a bit of a budget. 10/10. If you get Dana, Lachlan or Kros I’ve found them to be super helpful.

Erin I believe his name was, helped me understand more about some of my car troubles which was very helpful, the rest of the staff fixed my car up so fast and efficient. I love going here each time.

The staff are always very friendly, professional and explain things well. I'll agree with the other reviewers, often very slow through put. I went to the MacLeod location for 12 years, and now the crowfoot location for the last year, noticable difference. I'm a return customer because they do a good job.

I’ve been here before. Service was pretty good.
The most recent time had them short staffed. This normally isn’t a problem as it just takes a little longer.
The problem was that they still had 3 bays open and only enough staff for 2 bays. I sat there stalled at 80% completed while they started and completed 2 more vehicles on each side of me (watching 4 vehicles get completed while I sat there).
I got frustrated because the third car had pulled in on either side of me. Regrettably, I started yelling.
They quickly finished my vehicle and I was on my way.
I understand that short staffed happens but they should have closed the third bay.
Even though the service was okay the other times, I wont go back here. There are too many other good options for this type of service.

Had a positive experience with these guys today. It’s close by and I lucked today as they wait times weren’t long. The service advisor was fantastic and communicated well with what’s needed and what’s not. Good chance I’ll be back again.

Ok, does the job although no cheaper than the dealership, and I had to wait 25 minutes. A bit of over selling. And do they have to yell all the time

I’m not usually one to leave reviews however my past oil change went above and beyond. I had Aaron and he was super friendly and took time to actually talk to me. I also had a leaky valve on my tire (we guessed but it was right) and he changed the valve and my tire no longer leaks! Thank you Aaron for going the extra mile, your hard work does not go unnoticed:)

Waited over an hour to finally get in. Two vehicles ahead of us. A lot of chatting and a whole lot of not getting people through.

Pretty typical auto drive thru. They were speedy, polite and efficient with the expected upsales and recommended maintenance. All on all I can't complain about their clear communication and helpful advice.

Been here twice now and the experience has been more than phenomenal! The oil change here is quick and efficient and they even swapped out an air filter I had bought!

Had an oil pressure issue and overfilled the engine oil. Great Canadian Oil Change drained some oil and checked the oil and filter and didn't charge for it. Although they weren't able to find the problem causing the oil pressure issue the service is excellent here.

Slowest service I have ever received. Waited in line for an hour with 2 cars in front of me with no movement. Ended up just leaving without getting my oil changed. Would have been faster to change my oil myself.

This location and its great staff (especially Dana, Josh, and Hector) always go above and beyond and ensure I leave satisfied and return. It's the little things like excellent customer service, friendly service, and thorough explanations that show me I'm getting the services I actually need, and not anything unessential. Hector needs a raise simply for the exceptional service he provided today. Very knowledgeable, great at explaining what I didn’t understand, and really went the extra mile for us. He helped me fix a problem that could have ended up being a pricey fix elsewhere, thank you Hector!

Great place for a oil change and more they are full service. All the guys were super friendly and helpful. Didn't push me into buying or doing anything I didn't want to do.

The quickest and most reliable place to get your vehicle's oil change. You can even remain in your vehicle while they change your engine oil. Super fast, friendly and great service!

Great service with courteous staff. Thorough inspection of all routine items. Did not upsell on filters where none were needed.

Good service but wait times are often too long. After rebranding the service also seems too pushy for additional things from filters to injector flush. I had to say NO ever more affirmatively at least a dozen times. Why don't you just show the list of recommended services and let clients to chose what they need if any. I had to hear the sales pitch non stop during my last visit. I am tech savy person and my vehicle is well serviced. I didn't enjoy having to explain that I'm on top of things ten times over.

Overall best service anywhere! Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and very informative. I pulled in as a new customer to have my fluids topped up as I am driving across Canada with a used vehicle I had purchased the day before. They did a complete inspection of my vehicle, topped up the low fluids, and let me know if a potential leak that will eventually need to be addressed. They not only treated me well, I had my sons Cane Corso travelling with me and they were petting him and paying him much attention that he was soaking in. Everyone from Dana the technician who I was dealing with directly, to the techs who were checking fluids, to the techs who were working in other vehicles, EVERYONE made a lasting impression on me. I have relocated to Ontario and I will now become a regular customer of Canadian Oil Change. Kudos to you all at Crowfoot location Calgary Alberta CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ITS BEST!

Buyer beware!

I took my vehicle here back in March for a routine oil change. Everything went as expected while in the service bay. They checked all the other fluids, the air filters, signal lights etc. I paid my bill and was on my way.

About a month later I lost all auxiliary power functions starting with the power steering and then quickly afterwards I lost all power and was unable to restart my vehicle. At first I figured it was just that my battery had drained out because I was getting a "power disconnect warning" on my HUD. I ran off to Canadian tire and picked up a new one. When I went to put it in I notice a significant amount of oil residue on the engine cover. Upon further investigation I noticed that there was a trail of oil going from the engine cover and down the face of the engine near the oil fill port. The trial of oil continued down past the fill port and my alternator was completely drenched with oil!

All said and done I lost the use of my vehicle for 2 days, had to buy a new battery, and had to get the alternator replaced. The grand total was $834.29. Once all the repairs were completed I took my vehicle to the Great Canadian Oil Change; Crowfoot location where I initially had the oil change done and spoke with the manager André. I explained why I was there and what had transpired. He looked the vehicle over and said that he'd have to speak with the regional manager and that he would get back to me. I ended up having to follow up with Andre a few weeks later. It was at this time that he finally requested a copy of the repair invoice and other receipts associated with the breakdown and repair of the vehicle.

I waited another couple of weeks before having to follow up with the shop once again. The manager then attempted discredit the repair invoice for the alternator citing that the invoice didn't have the correct information on it pertaining to my vehical. Right make, but worng model as the tech had listed it as a a truck and not as a SUV.

I even included photos of my engine compartment with oil on the engine cover as well as the face of the engine block and old alternator before and after being replaced. The second photo of the alternator was on a work bench and you can clearly see that it was drenched in oil and the KIA oem ID tag.

To further substantiate my claim I even included a copy of the sales receipt from the repair shop with the last four digits of my bank card on it and a photo of my bank card with the same last four digits.

My next course of action is to deal with these shyster's in court and to go after them for loss of income, lost of time, legal fees and punitive damages.

We had to wait longer then anticipated due to the previous customer needing lots of work. So we were given a discount for the added wait. Time to change oil was 15min. Excellent!

Went today around 2 20 pm. Service staff was good. Good communication on the floor. My first time here and I will probably return. Thanks again. Good job Cameron and the other guys. Sorry don't remember all the names. Treat these employees right as they are the face of the company.

Staff is extremely friendly & helpful, never try to upsell any service you don't need, and get the job done in a timely manner. Wouldn't take my business anywhere else!

Professional and friendly service. They weren't pushy for upselling and even suggested a part at Canadian tire to help fix my windshield wiper.

This place lives up to their name! I have visited a couple of times and they are always on point. They continuously prove to be efficient during my bi-annual tire and oil change. They know that the only reason you are there is because you need to be there.

Dana is the best. He is Super knowledgeable, kind and pleasant and really fast at oil changes. There were no pressure sales for the add on's (which I knew I needed). Thanks for the great service. Will be back again soon.

Told me I needed to replace my serpentine belt because it was very dangerous and fraying. The belt is in perfect shape. Showed me a relatively clean air filter and told me the filter needed replacing. Be careful, they will try to hose you if they think you don’t know what you are doing. Not very honest people, after your money.

Dana, Russell and Vince made me feel welcome and comfortable, and provided great service while explaining their work. Definitely coming back.

I'd been putting off getting an oil change for a while as I moved & didn't know of anything that was convenient to my location. I saw the sign for an oil change & thought I would take a chance as it was 'just' an oil change'. I was very pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of all the staff. As a woman I'm not always treated like I know what I'm doing but they exceeded any expectations I rolled in with. There was no condescension & I felt we were all on the same level. They also had a great sense of humour that I always appreciate. I would highly recommend Great Canadian Oil Change for the above as well as getting me in & getting me out quickly & efficiently. Big thank you to all the staff.

Expensive, did not chang the filter as it was clean, but the price still the same. Will not go again.

Price is about right, staff are friendly and that’s good.

But I asked them to check the fluid levels on my transfer case and differentials and I was told that I should have asked at the start of the service. I asked them while they where trying to sell me a transmission flush. It was the first opportunity I had to talk to the tech after rolling in. Very unhappy about this point and I don’t think I will come back because of it.

I could hear the techs all under the truck trying to find all the grease fittings. If they undid the 4 bolts and took off the splash shield they could have reached them all. But instead they left the splash guard on and didn’t grease anything on the steering system. Disappointed about this.

They also stopped taking a fluid sample and showing it to you along with a new sample.

Stopped in for an oil change. Didn't have to leave my car. The guys were friendly and quick. $70 for conventional oil, and they did some other basic checks like lights, battery, washer fluid top-off, air filter, etc. I'll definitely be back for the next one!

Outstanding service from Austin and Jezreel! Puts Lube City Cochrane in the bag. Friendly professional and polite staff. Lube City could learn a thing or two about customer service from these guys! No hidden charges, even topped up windshield fluid and checked tire pressure! They try to upsell but are not pushy like the guys in Cochrane either. They match competitor coupons too! I am sold on their contactless service, as well! Highly recommend this place.

With new ownership the Crowfoot Minit Lube has gone from a mediocre chain to a genuine local oil/service shop. Even had 3 staff wish me a Merry Christmas on my drive out. A welcome sight for these weary eyes in the service industry.

Great concept for an oil change. Have to wait a bit before getting in, but worth the wait. Fast, professional, and good customer service. Didn't try and upsell me.

Mostly good experiences here. They just lost a star because one of the guys fumbled with my K&N air filter for a few minutes and ultimately didn't put it back in properly. Just had to re-install it.

Not the Minitlube it used to be. Very disappointed. Went in today 2019-11-23 to the crowfoot shop for an engine oil change and a check on the manufacturer recommended list of other fluids changes. In the past, Minitlube would do a quick check on the fluid quality before recommending or not recommending the fluids needing to be replaced. However, the person who helped me this time persistently tried to persuade me to change all fluids on the list. After explaining to him a few times that I understand manufacturer recommendation is only based mileage and since my car is second hand, so I have no prior history of these fluid change, and many shops don’t share these fluid change records with each other, I want to test the fluid before making the change. I was forced to a point that if I don’t specify I DON’T want fluid change unless I specifically give the go ahead, the person helping me might just go ahead with the fluid change and charge me. Then I was told a few times the manufacturer recommendation is usually what needs to be done and it seems like he completely ignored my concern and comment. That’s not the worse part, for the coolant fluid, after taking a sample of the fluids, the person brought the fluids to me in a measuring tube, in an angle that blocks my view while constantly using fingers to cover the words on the tube, and tells me this fluids need to be changed. From what I can see, the fluid is super transparent and super bright blue and 5 of the 6 floating balls are floating and 1 sank to the bottom. He then told me that it’s a bad indicator if the balls are floating. I got a little suspicious so I asked the fluid looks good to me and asked if I can read the measure. On the meter, it says if 5 is floating then it’s good for up to -34 and if less is floating, then it’s only good for a warmer weather. But what threw me off was that it says if all 6 balls are floating then it’s not safe. Super confused on that. Then the person kept saying if the weather accidentally goes below -34 then the fluids will be no good and continued to persuade me to do the change. I took it to my gut that I can’t trust this guy and -34 seems good enough for me, so I ask him a few more times how he would read the meter, like 2-3 more times, then he finally said the fluid is okay and no change is required. Seriously I don’t know anything about these fluids and if the person helping me can’t give me an honest straightforward answer, this is a con shop that can take advantage of many people who are not as diligent as me. Finally, when I looked at the price of the engine oil change, the price went up by 10% compared to my most recent invoice with the old minitlube. Just want to conclude that I miss the old minitlube who was trying to help me as opposed to forcing works that I don’t need on my visit.

The queuing system needs improvement! If you happen to pull up behind a bay where they’re doing a bunch of service work rather than an oil change, you can end up waiting an hour while cars that were behind you in line pull into other bays are finished before you even get in! So frustrating. Maybe they could install a take-a-number machine and bring people in the order they actually arrived. It would be much more fair and efficient. And way less frustrating for customers! It have a staff member devoted to organization.
For this reason alone, l'll look for another place next time I need an oil change.
Having said that, once I finally got in, the staff were friendly and not pushy.

Better off doing the work yourself or booking an appointment somewhere else. Took nearly 3 hours just to get tires swapped out for winter. They take about 45-60 min per vehicle so if there are two in front of you, get ready to spend half your afternoon stuck in line. Pretty ridiculous for a drive-thru mechanic.

Quick and efficient service with friendly knowledgeable staff. I've had places try to rip me off and lie to me about odd things being wrong with my car, but these guys are honest and are going to get your car done quickly without jeopardizing quality in the process. Take it from a former mechanic, these guys are good.

It’s a shame this place has gone downhill so badly. This used to be my go to. I’m currently sitting behind a car getting service and here’s what I see.they have three bays open but only have two people up top and a single guy in the pit below. The two guys up top are just hustling but because they’re working three bays it’s approaching an hour and a half for an oil change. What should normally take 15mins with full attention. The guy in the pit hasn’t even looked past the front axle. These guys are so short staffed, apparently Valvoline just purchased Minut Lube and are cool running an operation like this. I feel for the guys working here, if it was me I’d be looking for a new job ASAP.

Asked for a regular oil change, they decided instead to put in synthetic and then charge $98 instead of $61. Dont waste your time or money, go elsewhere where they actually listen.

Been here 3 times now and will probably never go anywhere else. Everyone has always been very friendly and helpful! Today I was helped by Garrett and he was wonderful. I needed a couple extra things done that we didn’t find out until he showed me and even though they would be working well passed their closing hours with the line of cars behind me, he did all the extra things for me with a smile. I really appreciate that! I see why they are so busy! I honestly don’t mind the wait or the price for the quality of your guy’s service!

Quick service as always but the techs are what make this place what it is. These guys are very friendly and care. They do what's needed and show you their work. I know some people ha e stores about the quick serve but they have been quick and effective for me.

I gave them a 4 because honestly twice things did not go the way they should have. HOWEVER, this last time (today) the manager did follow up, make sure what I told him was correct, and then proceed to make things right with me. I appreciate the honestly of the manager and I will go back for future services.
